No room for putting the breakfast trays. Window, single glass with a big gap between the sliding parts. The last 2 days the cv was cold After informing, they said it was the right room....

- Cheryl (6/5): A nice room and location great for a two night stay - On arrival the staff member was very helpful. My husband and I had a comfortable clean room, with a very small compact bathroom, but good for what we needed. Bed very comfortable. My father’s room was upgraded before arrival and it met his needs. He had a bigger room and bathroom. Nice touch of having bathrobes and lovely white towels. Tea and coffee facilities were great and plenty of choice, which was replenished the following day. The hotel was near the sea front and castle, great for walking to the town and along the promenade. Parking spaces outside which was very convenient. The first night was very noisy due to the loud music and singing coming from the pub underneath. Ear plugs bought to use for the second night, but the music ended earlier than the previous night.

- Marion R. (8/5): Etwas zu teuer für Aberystwyth - Das Hotel liegt in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße und es war auch relativ einfach einen Parkplatz zu ergattern. Das Zimmer hat eine angemessene Größe, das Bett leider nur Queensize … aber für eine Nacht ok. Das Frühstück war wirklich super … alles dabei, was man sich wünscht. -

Notre chambre était juste au dessus du pub donc la musique était beaucoup trop forte. Heureusement qu’ils ferment à 23h. Ce n’est pas le quartier idéal mais y en a-t-il un ?

- Annalise (6/5): - Room was nice and is close to the beach, was stood about 30 minutes in the lobby before anyone came to us I rang and I could hear the phone ringing no one was answering, when staff were about, so customer service could definitely be improved. it’s more of a pub rather than a hotel. If it was more professional and organised it could be lovely.

- Wyn (4/5): Air conditioning would have made it a lovely stay I’m sure. - Rooms newly refurbished to a high standard. No air conditioning - had to leave the window open as attic room was hot. Ended up having to listen to the seagulls arguing over a bag of rubbish for most of the night. Bathroom also very small.
- Simon (5/5): Would not use this accomodation again. - There wasn’t any!!, We were a little misled from advising, thought we might have sea views. No upgrades were available and looked out to see very Non maintained very ugly buildings.
- Mutlu (7/5): Good - The location is superb. It is just by the beach and also very close to the centre with all pub, restaurants and shops. The place clean and the staff was kind and trying their best. We paid extra for a sea-front room, but there was barely any view, just a glimpse of the sea between buildings through a high small window, which felt rather cheeky for the extra price. The first night, the lock for the door didn’t work, so we were given a key; staff were kind and tried to fix it but failed. The next day, they moved us to a downstairs room in which you can see the sea through a larger bay window, but I still wouldn't call it a sea view. One of the cards didn’t work in the electric socket in the new room either, suggesting the whole building have electrical issues. No air-conditioning and it was so hot we had to leave the windows open, but as the hotel is quite central, early morning street noise was very disturbing. The pub at the ground floor opens late and closes early and we were never be able to enjoy it even though it seems like a good pub. Overall, it was fine, but not worth for the money.

The floor was very noisy from above. The room was very warm with no fan as described it was a fan heater. Had to open the windows instead . Which would normally be fine. But the pub downstairs was very noisy till late. The street outside was also very noisy with cars speeding down it and drunks messing about.

A few rooms above a student pub in a run down part of town At half the price it might have been about right. We make over 30 hotel stays per year and this was way over priced. So disappointed we paid up and drove 3 hours home rather than stay here.

- Jennifer (8/5): Great location, great staff! - Loved staying at the Castle Hotel. The staff were super friendly, checkin was quick, and for being above a bar- it wasn’t too loud. It is super close to the beach and the castle ruins and a brief 5 minute walk to all kinds of cute restaurants and shops. The only thing of note was the toilet took a bit to flush and the shower water was more tepid than hot but overall, I can’t say enough good things.

So had a shower in the first room where the water (from an electric shower) was warm but head needs descaling. Currently only a trickle. Like this place but feels a bit neglected

I was nervous before check-in because the hotel is located above a bar, but the management has done an excellent job of designing an experience of making hotel guests feel isolated from the bar patronage. There wasn't much not to like, the location is great and rooms are huge!

But the room was very comfortable, warm, and clean. The standby light from the TV was bright, but this is my only complaint with the actual room.
