- David (6/5): - For the price it was a good deal..My room although it smelt good ( which is important to me) was somewhat outdated....the 1st night I was awakened by police out in parking lot trying to calm a loud person who was screaming at another , they were on the roof above my room at one point. I mentioned it to the owners in the morning thinking that they'd maybe give me a credit or something for the inconvenience but they offered nothing.

- Susan (6/5): Price was good, but room was a challenge. - The location was great, the bed was clean and comfortable and we appreciated the fridge and microwave. However, the tub didn’t drain so we stood in calf-deep water while showering. The room was hot and we couldn't figure out how the heater worked. There was a coffee maker, but only enough regular coffee for one cup.
- Lynn (2/5): Ventura Motel - yikes! - We were told on arrival that they had NOT been paid for the night even though I had the receipt in my hand. I had to contact hotels.com to correct the situation, but even then, they continued to claim they were not paid. We had to deal with the manager at least 3 times before the problem was resolved (we think - because we were never informed that it had been).

We went to the office to notify our bathroom sink is clogged… response was no, i checked it last night, not addressed, still clogged when we left. Nothing like spitting toothpaste in the toilet. Only toiletries in the room was conditioner. Only coffee in the room was 1 decaf and plastic glasses. Enough said.

- Scott (8/5): - we had a home emergency and needed to get a room for the night when it was already late. Ventura had an affordable room ready to go. the motel is very much a classic old style motel. there aren't crazy amenities or anything like that but the room was quiet, comfortable and affordable. If you need a fancier place there are plenty of options but if you don't need a bunch of bells and whistles this was great.
- robert (8/5): Please update property - This hotel is not supposed to be five star, but it could use an update….for example, the stairs to the second floor, could use a fresh coat of paint, there was paint flacking and chipping off the steps….the fitted sheet doesn’t fit the mattress. Found a used can behind microwave….but, it was quite, which is important to me…the room was spacious in size.

- DREW (8/5): low-key, well-kept vintage, very convenient - Not much to breakfast, but super-convenient location. Property is a bit vintage, but very well-maintained.
- Kim (2/5): - This is the grossest place I have ever stayed in. I have traveled into Third World countries and stayed in the jungle and not been as disappointed in my room. I will likely have to sleep in my car tonight. The worst thing is that this place stinks. Musty and some kind of other smell I’m not going to describe. The curtains are especially gross and they had a big office clip holding them shut. The bed is weird, creaky and uncomfortable. It’s a holiday weekend and almost everything else in the town is sold out and I have a ferry to catch early in the morning so I’m not going to switch now and stay somewhere expensive.
- Laurie (2/5): Stay somewhere ekse - The place is very old and needs so much attention. Liked staying at a low budget hotel with exorbitant prices. Hollow core door for outside door. Screen door had missing glass and torn screen. The owner would have blamed us for the screen door but I showed him picture we took upon arrival.
- Jarob (2/5): Might be a little better then sleeping in the car - I really hate to leave a bad review but this place is a dump. The floors are dirty the bed sheets and comforter were dirty. I can almost guarantee non of the bedding was washed before we got there. Luckily we had some blankets with us so we were able to put them over the bed so we could at least sleep on it. Like my title says this motel might be a little better then staying in your car but not by much. I would advise to look somewhere else for a hotel.

- Casey (10/5): - Ventura Motel was the perfect place for us to crash after working the Suds on the Shore beer festival! It was clean, comfy, and very walkable from the fest and to all the fun downtown stuff. Would stay here again.

- Indira (8/5): - For the price I pay per ni it was definitely worth it, check in was fast and easy, it's not a modern or fancy hotel but it's very comfortable and a 10 min walk to the beach, clean floors, carpet and bathroom too, only thing linen and towels had what looks like old stains, so we never touched them we had bring our own anyways.

- Lisa (6/5): Tired old motel in a great location - It was fine for an overnight but I wouldn’t come back. The positives: relatively good price for a great location - easy walk to downtown and beach - and the towels were thick. So so: bed was fine and clean, they had a few to go breakfast items (yogurt and sticky buns, coffee and sunny D). Negatives: it’s an older hotel that doesn’t look well kept or super clean inside or out. The fixtures, furniture, and decor were old. Not “cute vintage” old but just old old. Owners were okay, not rude or particularly friendly, said no to checking out 1 hour late. I’d bite the bullet and spend more on a nicer place next time.

The room was very tiny did not look as it was pictured on the website. Regused to give me a refund i was there less than 15 minutes.
- Ben (4/5): - The Ventura is located relatively close to the Ludington Stearns Park beach and Badger Car Ferry docks. The rooms themselves are quite dated and bathroom is small and lacks a vent fan. This lodging option gets the job done but isn't a bargain by any means. There is a modest cold continental breakfast provided. It was fine for me and my traveling partner but was really just four walls and some beds.

- Caroline (8/5): - Location, location. This is a very old motel that is one block from the beach and one block for town in the other direction. We were in room 26 and both beds were very, very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, with plenty of towels. The only thing I would change would be the old carpeting. They felt damp to your feet but they weren’t. Tile or faux wood floors would make this place a perfect 10.

- Erin (8/5): - We liked this spot due to its location, the kid who handled the check in was very nice, the bed was comfortable and it was overall very quiet. The room was very dated, the toilet was a slow flush and the bathroom sink was slow draining.
- Tina (10/5): - The owners of this property are absolutely amazing and understanding. I worked a 24hr shift and drove 4 hrs to Ludington to watch my son play in a basketball tournament. They were very helpful in getting me a room early so i could catch some sleep before game #2 and even though the rooms arent fancy sleep, shower and staff were exactly what we needed. And only a few blocks to walk to beach. Highly recommend

Deep cleaning your rooms would be a major improvement. You have a fantastic location & a beautiful fresh water lake. Now you just need a clean motel.

- Verified traveler (4/5): - We were very glad it was within walkable distance however when we got there the room was 78. The air conditioner did cool it eventually. The brochure stated conditional breakfast was included yet they did NOT offer it. We were told as of Labor Day it was discontinued. Desk man stated it was my fault for incorrect info because I booked it thru Hotels.com but I CALLED the motel personally before I booked it thru hotels.com and was told breakfast was included. I deserve better than that! There were also spider webs and flies on the floor and ceiling. Welcome to Ludington.

- marsha (8/5): - Uniquely classic 50s. Loved the old fashioned bathroom- so much like the home I grew up in. Two blocks from waterfront!! Closest neighbor a city park. Even a screen door. Price unbeatable. I don't particularly like cold, sterile modern (or fancy) hotels. Ventura was super clean, accessible and classic.

- Verified traveler (4/5): - Whatever you are going to pay for this room is not a deal. Neighbors, whom I believe live there, were noisy late into the night outside our door. Janky parking. Room smelled horrible. Cobwebs, dead bugs on the walls, mystery stains...... Just gross. I would not have stayed if my husband hadn't been with me, felt unsafe. I took photos of the bugs and stains and cobwebs, but the app won't let me post them.

Desk clerk heavily emphasized the consequences of damage to the room, as if he were expecting we had destructive plans, and was very annoyed when asked for details about turning in the key Room was clean, functional. and quiet. Advertised breakfast was a complete failure Just four bagels, two yogurts, and orange juice were available when we were the first ones in for breakfast in the morning. Upon inspection all the bagels were moldy. When a new package of five bagels were brought out, these were all moldy, too, and that was all they had, so no breakfast.

- Mark (4/5): - This was for one nights stay and that’s all we could take. The room is depressing to be in. One of those small darker looking rooms that was old and didn’t look clean. The woman that checked us in was about as personable as a brick in the face. We would not ever stay here again. That’s all I can say.

- Rebecca (4/5): Just don’t. - Clean enough where I didn’t feel the need to leave but there was food in our fridge and dead mosquitos on the walls. There was a locked door with a light on under it that the lobby told me not to worry about. I assume it was a non-functional “luv tub” so they should have just said that. But also why was the light on? The bed was clean but uncomfortable. The prime location is the only upside to this place.

- Matthew (4/5): - Would not allow a late checkout, even though only half the rooms were booked. Vacancy sign was constantly on. Toilet ran constantly. AC would shut off before the room cooled off. Basically an old fixed patched up motel.

- Ann (6/5): - The property is older and clearly the cleaning crew does what is necessary to keep it up, but not a lot of extra effort. There is built up dirt in the corners of the bathroom and mildew in the corners of the tub. Art on the walls is sun faded and sad, and the sheets are a little scratchy, but clean. The best part of the stay was that the AC worked and the location is very close to the beach and town. The refrigerator was good, but it might have been nicer to also have a microwave. It met our needs, but not very comfortable and quite worn. In the height of tourist season, we didn't have any other options really.

I didn't like that there were several construction workers there and they had their pickup backed in right at my window. Just my luck that was where the cooler was with the beer. I didn't complain because I do remember being young and having to travel to different cities for work.
