- Ekaterina (10/5): - I had a wonderful two-day stay at Treetops Inn Bed & Breakfast in a private bungalow overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
One evening I had Karen cook me dinner. She prepared an incredible five-course dinner that was absolutely delicious, beautifully balanced, and made with so much care. After living in New York for 20 years and dining at many top restaurants, I can honestly say her meal was just as good — if not better. Breakfast each morning was also fresh and wonderful, served with a stunning ocean view.
Karen and Jack are warm, welcoming hosts who make you feel right at home. If you appreciate amazing home-cooked food and a tranquil setting, this place is a true gem.
I’d like to come back there sometime soon.

- Sabina (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location, very nice hosts, amazing breakfast and dinner made with love :) Great please! Very special, rustical vibe, amazing nature around!
- Robert (10/5): - From the time we got there we knew we had the right place, the view was one of a kind, the hosts were amazing, and the beach was walking distance, private and beautiful. 100 percent recommend Tree Tops, we will be back!
- Angela (4/5): Great location but even simple accommodation should be clean & maintained. - The views both from the bungalow area and their home, the location to the beach, breakfast and the fabulous meal cooked for us one our first night. Karen’s enthusiasm and attention to detail when cooking is top notch. The facilities of the bungalow were very poor. It appears to have been great when first fitted out but has not been maintained for a long time. The little outside table and stools were all broken and unsafe to use, the single hammock was full of holes and the outside shower tap rusty. No problem with the shower being outside but the shower head was in need of a clean and the inside of the “kitchenette” cupboards and little fridge were very dirty. There is no provision for cooking or making a drink (no pans, kettle, stove, microwave or any alternative). It is definitely crying out for some TLC.
- Falina (9/5): Superb - The cabana is the perfect private rustic getaway from the plugged-in keep-up-with-the-Joneses world to slow down reconnect with nature and loved ones. The location had amazing access to a pristine beach and the property itself is a little wildlife haven. We were birding from bed! Karen’s cooking was the best we had in Guanacaste and she went out of her way to accommodate my gluten intolerance by making delicious homemade gluten free breads and muffins that satisfied and impressed! Jack and Karen are charming, a pleasure to talk with and are an amazing resource for information on Costa Rica.
- Jakub (10/5): Exceptional - The best thing we came across in all Costarica. Beautiful beach with almost no people, delicious food made by Karen and lovable company of both Karen and Jack. Will be coming back.

- Christina (9/5): It was an unforgettable stay and one of the highlights of our Costa Rica Trip! - The most special at Treetops are the owners, Karen and Jack. the are so lovely and do everything they can to make you feel comfortable and have you an unforgettable stay. And our stay was really unforgettable and one of the highlights of our trip through Costa Rica.
Also the location of Treetops and the bungalow, where guests stay is incredible. You are on a hill, directly at the seaside on a private huge property. the view is amazing. Super nice for sunsets and “private time” e.g. for couples. Kind of romantic. 😉
Karen is a very good cook (chef). Her 5 course Menue is great and she also makes super delicious breakfast.
Karen and Jack also gave us lots of interesting information about Costa Rica in general and recommendations for restaurants and activities in town and close by. Absolutely recommendable to stay at Treetops.
what you have to know that you are directly in the nature… there are animals all over (not in your bungalow but all around) also during the night… it’s kind of “loud”. 😉
Might not be the best place if you are afraid of “nature noises” at night and/or of staying somewhere a bit away of civilization. The bungalow had everything you need for a couple of days. Nevertheless, I thought it could have been a bit cleaner. For example, I needed to double clean the water glasses before we used them.
