- Brown (1/5): - Arrived by early, checked with staff to see if room was ready early by chance. It wasn't. Which was fine, told to check back in a hour. Once hour was up checked back still was told it wasn't quite ready. Finally by this time it was 4 o'clock and regular check in time to back to the hotel bags in hand, mind you I have my 3 year with and get to front desk to be told they bumped my reservation to the hotel next door!! The courtyard marriott, it was terrible! My room was down graded from a kind suite to know having two standard queen beds. No continental breakfast anymore, or continental coffee!! Was told we would be given free breakfast at their down stairs Cafe in the morning which opened at 7:30am, yet got up an the café was closed lights off no one around. Other guests where getting pissed about the service. My three year complaining hes hungry and this whole time we were supposed to be eating at the very nice continental breakfast from the hotel we booked with!! Not be shafted to this terrible service courtyard hotel! To boot i take dupixent and need to keep it refrigerated. Placed it in the fridge in the room, to wake up finding it warm, the fridge didnt work properly and my dupixent pen had spoiled! Thats a $2500 medication pen! Very very terrible experience with marriott!! All started cause the actually residence marriott we booked with bumped us to another hotel cause they over booked an messed up.

- R4010CHsarahs (10/5): Best Residence Inn Stay Ever! - Our stay at Residence Inn St. Paul/Woodbury was fantastic! Our expectations were well exceeded. This property is SO clean. It is very clear that so much thought and care has gone into the designs in this hotel. For example, we were impressed to see emergency exit signs at both ceiling and floor level, MULTIPLE hooks in the bathroom, and a unique “dressing” area outside the bathroom with a built in stand for luggage and drawers for clothing storage. We also noted the special decor touches around the property like the REAL potted succulents in the pool. The bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was well done/organized with multiple hot options including French toast and eggs. The only downside was the hot tub was not hot, but this was a very small detail in the scheme of all the other great things at this property. We would absolutely stay at this property again and would recommend it to anyone.

- Julia (8/5): Fix the hot tub and I'll give 5 stars - I love Residence Inn. We've stayed at this location multiple times while in Woodbury visiting family. The staff is always helpful. The rooms are like our own little apartment. Having a warm breakfast before starting our day is great. The only let down for me is that the last two times we've stayed, the hot tub has not been operational. While they do allow you to use the hot tub at the hotel across the parking lot (Courtyard by Marriott), when it's winter in Minnesota, you don't want to be trekking across the parking lot in a wet swimming suit.

I was offered 10,000 Marriott points but that was for the molded sheets & pillow case I showed them I was sleeping on!!! Like please do better!!!!!
- Pa (10/5): - The room I got was a one king size sweet non-smoking. It was a corner room on the first floor so it was easy access and very private. I did not hear any noise from any other rooms and I felt like I was in my own little apartment with a full size kitchen. The king size bed was the farthest away from the door so I did not hear any passing hallway traffic. Stuff were helpful and nice. Staff made it easy to book another night without having to leave the room. This will be my go to place if I ever need to rent a room again in r twin cities.

Coffee was bad, breakfast was ok. For the price I would say it was average although a convienient location and good size room. Staff was very nice.

We pulled up at 10 to check in and had bags in hand with my three kids walked In first. The lady at the front desk I didn’t catch her name but it was July 15. She didn’t acknowledge me looked my at and turned her head. There wasn’t water available like a lot of hotels and I did t bother to ask because I knew what this was. My husband walked in after me and tried to check in she proceeded to tell us they were booked when we booked our room. We sat down to call the hot line and figure it out. We sat maybe thirty minutes with out this lady asking can I help, I’m sorry, can I get the kids water something. Again. I knew what this was she was racially profiling. She came over at one point and handed my husband a paper telling him to stop trying to check in and her computer is letting her know so he needs to call the hotline. The man on the phone was very nice and helped us. But the lady at the desk needs to be spoken to about customer service and needs to go back to training 101. I have never written one of these and she made me that uncomfortable for me to want to just want to wait in the car until we found a room.

Check out the cutest breakfast place called Sweet Paris crepes 😍. There is a Cub foods grocery across the road if you need stuff to cook or that you forgot. Lots of places around to grab a snack .

Sent to the hotel across the parking lot to another hotel owned by the same group where the room was an additional $80. I didn’t get a king room or a suite, and my room was right against the noisy highway and I got no sleep. I need to be refunded for my room, and compensated for the additional expense at the next hotel, as well as inconvenience.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Utterly Disappointing-Sometimes Infuriating - We've stayed at this property on multiple occasions from 2016 until Covid in 2019. This was our prior go-to when coming back to visit my hometown. Our first stay in 4 years was a horrible letdown. With the exception of one industrious young man who seemed to be the only one working at check in, and the kitchen staff, service was horrible to non-existant. Upon our arrival, a young lady who we later found worked the front desk was parked in a handicapped spot to save herself steps. As a disabled person, who was forced to park and walk further away, I was infuriated. When we came down to the desk early New Year's morning, she had a sign on the desk that she was helping a customer. A few moments later we saw her stumble out of a guest room, fixing her hair, clearly having just woken up from a nap. This person needs to be terminated immediately. Overall, between the employee from hell, the reduction in services and personnel (we came back to the hotel in part for the daily Happy Hour, which is no longer), the hotel is a shadow of what it was. To top it off, we came back from dinner NYE to find that the elevators did not work and that we had to take a long walk up flights of stairs. I have one lung and less than 49% breathing capacity, so this was not a minor inconvenience. The only staff in the hotel was the night auditor, who was clearly overwhelmed. We paid a premium price for our stay but received a low budget experience - dismally disappointed
- garyhR2088WV (4/5): Not what it once was - We have been going to this hotel almost monthly for over 2 years and have used it every 6 months since it opened. Sadly it is not our go to place anymore as there has been a change in management that has been a definite downgrade. The hotel is also getting worn out and the beds uncomfortable. We have chosen to look elsewhere since our last visit over Thanksgiving. I wish it wasn’t so but life does change.

Now getting to breakfast on time was an issue for me and when they say they are closing it is a done deal! They close with no exceptions! I have to admit I have had better breakfasts at other Residence Inns, that being said, I was NOT there for the breakfast and my recovery was the important part of the stay.

There were kids running up and down the halls and they pounded on our door multiple times. We contacted the desk to share our concern and their response was we have some soccer players staying here, then said she would see if she could send someone up to do a walk through. I understand that they don't have control over a soccer team and what parents allow their children to do. However, it would have been nice if the response would have been - I am so sorry, we will look into this and if it continues please let us know. Rather than make excuses and a sense that there was no care or concern that it was going on. I am sure that we weren't the only ones that were having issues.

- at676 (6/5): A few serious short comings - This is a long stay hotel. As such, there’re some expectations that guests in other hotels are willing to overlook but significant for long stay guests. First, the good. It’s clean, which is important. It’s got a kitchen with dishes and pans, plus a large frig. That’s obviously helpful for long stay guest. It’s got a pool, which is nice. Breakfast is the typical fair, with hot items, again good. However, a few shortcomings. One minor, two pretty serious. The minor is the lack of an oven. The other two is the lack of snow plowing and poor internet service. When I checked in, I noticed the parking lot was full of snow. This is something like 3 days since the last storm! They haven’t bothered to plow the parking lot at all. At breakfast, I overheard two other guests complaining about the slow internet and unable to upload/download files. But I was to only experience it later. From my window, I could clearly see the parking lot of this hotel was a mess. Parking spots full of snow. No section of the parking was cleared of snow even if I were willing to walk a bit. I took a couple of photos showing the difference between this hotel and its neighboring sister hotel, the Courtyard by Marriott, which had completely cleared most of their lot’s parking spots. But not surprisingly, I couldn’t upload the photos for this review due to the poor internet service

- juliebI6789BS (8/5): Nice place. - We stayed here for a couple days so we could visit my husband's mom who lives in the area. When we first arrived in the parking lot, it was hard to tell which door was the front door and it was snowing and my husband was in a wheelchair so we took a chance on one and fortunately, it happened to be the right one, otherwise I would have had to load my husband back up into the car and drive around. A sign that indicates that it's the front door would be helpful as it's not obvious from the outside. Once inside, there was a sign at the front desk stating that they were helping another guest and would be back soon. That was strange because I could see a woman at a computer in the back room. We waited for a while because I thought that maybe she didn't work at the front desk. Finally I decided to call "Hello" into the back room and she came out. She was very friendly and gave us keys to our room. When we arrived at our room, the first thing my husband noticed was no grab bar near the toilet. We have never stayed at a hotel that didn't have a grab bar near the toilet. We choose not to stay in "handicapped accessible rooms" when we travel because we have yet to find one that was actually designed with a disabled individual in mind and they are more often than not, harder to navigate than a regular room. I called the desk about this and the woman offered to move us to a handicapped accessible room. We packed up and headed back downstairs. Got the key to the new room and went back up. The room key didn't work so we have to go back down to the desk (mind you at this point, I've driven for over 5 hours, I'm tired and I have to push my husband in his wheelchair). The woman does whatever magic they do with keys and hands it back, so we head back upstairs for the third time. Try the key in the door and again it won't work. The woman at the desk decides she's going to try with a master key so we head back up with her and again the room will not unlock. So now, we're stuck and have to stay in the original suite. So we grab our things and head back up. Having been a hotel housekeep many, many years ago, I am very picky about the cleanliness of a hotel room and this one was clean. The glasses in the cabinet looked like they had just been wiped since the last use so I immediately washed all the dishes just to make sure they were clean. As I was unloading the car, the front desk clerk went up to the room and gave my husband a toilet riser with handles which was very helpful and a nice surprise. What wasn't such a nice surprise was when I turned it over and saw that it hadn't been cleaned since it's previous use and it had some pretty heavy use. There was dried urine and feces on it. I went down to the front deskk to request some cleaning and disinfecting supplies so that I could properly clean the toilet riser as there was no way we could use it as it was. She told me that they didn't have anything except dish soap. That was NOT going to cut it so I went back upstairs and got my coat so I could go out and buy some sanitizing cleaner. While I was on my way out the door, the maintenance man told me he had some sanitizing wipes and offered them to me. I was very appreciative because it meant I didn't have to try to navigate an unfamiliar area in the dark while it was snowing. The other thing I noticed was the lack of a luggage rack in the suite. There was no where to place a suitcase in the bedroom. The dresser in the room had a TV on it so that would not work. I called the desk again and was told that if there wasn't on in the room then there wasn't one available. Once again, the maintenance man came to the rescue. He heard that we were missing a luggage rack and told me he'd find me one, if he had to take one from an empty room. Hooray for him! I wish I'd gotten his name. He got me a luggage rack as promised. Throughout our stay, I found the staff to be very friendly and as helpful as they could be. I felt that the desk clerk really went out of her way to provide the toilet riser for us and the maintenance man was my hero for getting me a luggage rack. Our room was clean and well kept (other than the toilet riser which most people would never use anyway and questionable glassware, which was an easy fix). We didn't have any problems getting what we needed. The front desk staff was happy to get us extra towels and the housekeeping staff emptied our garbage daily if we set it outside our door. The housekeeping staff also gave me some hand lotion as there was none in the room and it was very dry in the room. The housekeep was also very helpful when I asked her how to get the room warm. She told me the corner rooms are hard to heat and told me what settings to use to warm us up. She was very friendly and seemed genuinely eager to help. The shower was very nice and had good pressure. There were bottles of body wash, shampoo and conditioner in a hanger on the shower wall. One thing I would recommend is to provide bottles that are easier to read, especially for us older guests who need reading glasses. The font is in a light green on a sage background. I had to squint to read them and make sure I was using the right stuff (still not as bad as the time I mistook the tube of shaving cream for toothpaste in an Italian hotel though-the tubes were identical and of course written in Italian). Breakfast was typical hotel fare. Powdered eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits with sausage gravy, pancakes in a warmer and mini waffles in a cellophane package, boiled eggs, etc. Pretty much the same hotel breakfast that you get nation wide. Nothing to write home about but not bad and pretty much what I expected. We chose a Residence Inn so we could cook in our suite and not have to go to restaurants because of the pandemic (a bonus, it saves us money too). The kitchen was outfitted with adequate pots, pans and dishes to whip up a simple meal. We were in a corner suite so had a full stove/oven, full sized refrigerator with ice maker (make sure to turn the ice maker on when you arrive as it takes a while to get going), full sized microwave small sink, dish cloth and towel, dish soap, pots and pans with pot holders, etc. I was glad to see that with the exception of a skillet, the pots and pans were stainless steel and didn't have that awful non-stick coating. It was nice to be able to whip up a simple dinner and then just relax in our suite and not have to go out in the snow and cold to find a restaurant. I have a few recommendations for areas of improvement: 1. Put grab bars around the toilets in all rooms. They can increase safety and can also be used to hang damp towels if the guest chooses not to have the towels switched each day as the small towel bar in the room isn't quite adequate for that. 2. Use bottles in the shower that are easier to read. 3. Our room needed new blackout drapes as they were out of shape and needed to be clipped together with a hanger that has clips to keep them closed. Some hotels have drapes that overlap which is helpful to keep the sun out in the morning and lights from the parking lot out at night. 4. Equip the front desk staff with supplies that can be used to clean something should be need arise after housekeeping has left. Don't make your guests go out at night in bad weather to purchase it. 5. I wish I knew the name of the maintenance man but he deserves a bonus for going out of his way for us. 6. Same for the front desk lady who gave us the toilet riser. I felt like that was really above and beyond, but just wish it had been clean. Still it was better than nothing and helped to make our stay more comfortable.

Walk in shower, full kitchen excluding oven, outdoor patio and fire place, spacious and nicely furnished indoor lobby/lounge with big, centered, flat screen tv; standard but well maintained pool room with hot tub and workout facility.) I would also like to mention that Denise on the Morning/Breakfast shift was very nice, energetic and overall had a wonderful, warm and welcoming demeanor that made my morning and breakfast a much better and overall great way to start my day! Thanks for the great service and breakfast food, keep up the great work!! Hot tub was out of order for maintenance, which is obviously not the fault of the hotel or staff, just unlucky timing on our end. Queen bed was a little firm for my liking but still comfortable nonetheless!

I traveled out of state for over 20 years, necessitating hotel stays every week, so I am a very good judge of what the staff of any hotel should be providing and relating with guests. The Woodbury Resident Inn's management put their staff over the needs and concerns of their guests. The staff themselves were never available. When one could be engaged they were rude and had no interest in meeting the needs of the guest. I was staying there due to my home flood. I was EVICTED! Evicted from a hotel!? The rational given "the safety and wellness of my staff members come first". What about the safety, wellness, happiness of guests. This was from 'Mikala Ness, Assistant General Manager, Residence Inn, Woodbury-St. Paul I could go on and on and on about the despicable behavior of the desk staff and assistant manager, but I think you get the message.

We like the location as it is within walking distance to casual eating as well as a Whole Foods Grocery store. There is a Costco about 6 miles west on Tamarac Rd too. The breakfast is a bit of a let down though - offering bagged goods and not hot meals. Seems like they are using the Covid excuse to evade a proper meal. We did stay at other Marriott properties on this trip and even the Fairfield's served warm food!

- Meander47499237485 (2/5): Please don’t waste your $$ - This is not the place to stay if you are looking for a nice place to stay, be comfortable and experience the amenities that are touted on their website such as "Unwind after exploring Woodbury/St. Paul in our indoor pool and hot tub area". We walked down to experience the pool and most especially the hot tub and were surprised to see them both drained for "repairs". This is a very new hotel and to have the pool and hot tub not working as well as many other flaws such as the carpeting on the 4th floor which is not adhering to the floor.....it is unacceptable for the price. And the room and room service....don't even get me started! When I first entered the room I walked into the bathroom only to be met with "something" floating in the toilet. Once I flushed it, there was long black hairs stuck on the side of the toilet as well as in the shower. I have to wonder how well this room was cleaned! We found out after the first night that there was not going to be room service so if you want clean towels, more shampoo, a bed made, the garbage removed, etc., you have to do it all yourself (despite paying full price for the hotel). The only way we got our room cleaned after the 2nd day was that room service accidently knocked on our door and my husband said "well as long as you are here..." Breakfast is not served until 6:30 so in my case as well as many others who were staying, I had to leave for work at 6:00 a.m. I could get a cup of coffee. The staff were friendly but with all of the restrictions and repairs going on (the side door going out by our room was for exit only because the key reader needed to be repaired) it would have been nice to know these things beforehand. I read that Marriott said that they were now only going to give daily room service to their luxury and premium hotels because according a spokesman from Mariott, people were less comfortable with room service coming into their room during the pandemic. I say this is not true! David Flueck, Senior Vice President of Marriott Bonvoy said in an email at the end of May 2021 that "they remain committed to making sure you enjoy what you love and miss about traveling." Well, thank you David, but I enjoy a clean room, working amenities, and clean towels while I stay at a hotel that cost us over 75,000 Bonvoy Points. If I wanted to clean myself, I would have stayed at home.
- mariannak605 (2/5): Terrible customer service - We had a horrible stay at this hotel. This hotel advertised on its website and other online ads: "free full American breakfast", heated indoor pool, whirlpool, 24/7 fitness room, free coffee in lobby, and daily housekeeping. None of these were provided when we arrived. Staff at the hotel refused to clean our room even once throughout our 4-day stay, even though we requested it each day. Staff also refused to provide any additional towels or toilet paper or to take out the garbage through the 4 days. Staff literally instructed us to take out our own garbage and get our own toilet paper and angrily refused to bring them when asked. The bathroom was also dirty from when we first arrived as you can see in the photos I took. My attempts to communicate to remedy any of the issues were ignored. In the end, my request to receive a reduction in cost or other compensation were also ignored. Considering the cost of the room was about $260 per night, we found this all very upsetting.

- John (6/5): Disappointed - One of the main reasons that we chose this property was the pool and hot tub. When I went to look at, there was no water in them. No info on the website about the closure, no info from check-in. When I inquired, I was told that we used a third party for our booking and could expect no compensation. I was told by the manager that if Hotels.com would call, they would give me a credit, they didn't. Very disappointing behavior from a Marriott facility's staff.

And really, a Book of Mormon in the bedside table, in addition to a Bible? I know the owner of Marriott is a Mormon, but can we just dispense with ALL "holy books" in hotels, please. It's creepy. One additional observation about the staff: they all seem scared, like the management are awful to them. Not a nice atmosphere at all.

Chose hotel because pet-friendly ($100 non-refundable pet fee)-we were traveling with a cat. 1 Bedroom King Suite. Good location in Woodbury-close to lots of stores and restaurants (both fast food and other ones with takeout). Our Suite was clean and well-appointed. Very comfortable. Loved the full kitchen. Staff were very friendly. We felt safe with the hotel’s COVID-19 procedures in place. We plan to stay here again in the future.

- lkhughes (10/5): Home away from home - Due to a major construction project taking place at our home in Hudson, WI, we needed to move out for a week. My husband and I both work from home so we needed adquate space to accomodate both of us. Made the reservation online, then we needed to extend it twice and the hotel staff was incredibly helpful with that and we didn't have to switch rooms. The location is awesome and in the middle of shopping and a multitude of awesome restaurants. Rooms were nice size, clean, quiet and very comfortable. On my last day, I had a call that I needed to take and wasn't sure I could check out by noon. I was able to wrap up my last meeting and then check out at 1pm. I absolutely loved our stay at this newer property in Woodbury and would highly recommend a stay here. To recap, wonderful staff, clean, spacious rooms, excellent location. Everything we needed to feel right at home.

The breakfast is decent and they do some nice small evening events throughout the week providing snacks, appetizers and refreshments. The room are very clean and the kitchen areas are well equiped to make meals and not have to eat out every night. Close to shopping and groceries.

Ran out of coffee stirrers on Wednesday. Now Friday and still out. Run to the store and buy some! I don’t mind the spoons but they would run out by morning. Luckily I kept one with me for the week. I travel almost every week. Lack of good management here is noticeable.
- LisaP119 (10/5): Family visit - Stayed jan 29th room 408 1 bedroom suite. Room had a dishes, silverware, cork screw, can opener. Toaster, coffee maker, mixing bowls ect..excellent location in Woodbury. Close to everything, nice pool and hot tub. Breakfast was excellent scrambled eggs, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, waffles,bagels,cereals,hard boiled eggs yogurt. List goes on and on easy check in, professional courteous staff had absolutely no issues, quiet hallways, amazing stay.
