- Barry (10/5): -
- Jaylen (7/5): -
- Maggie (6/5): - It was to see a concert otherwise I wouldn’t go there it was clean but room backwards no outlets for phone to charge n nothing flowed
- Katerine (2/5): - This was a terrible experience. Our power went out two times while we were there for two hours they didn’t accommodate whatsoever. I had children with me and the room was ice cold. They charged my credit card for no reason and I am currently disputing staff was horrible and they said, there was nothing they can do about they would not refund me my full four days and they charged 187 on my credit card That I use for the $100 deposit there was no damage so no reason for them to charge me at all. I was only there for a couple hours. Most of the time was Unloading my car and loading it back up to go find a different hotel. I would not recommend staying here save yourself the hassle for the future, having to dispute things and them stealing money from you.
- Zoltan (10/5): - Friendly staff
- Jessie (4/5): - Cheap place to stay, but I wont be going back. Could here the neighbors as if they were in my room.
- Rutbel (10/5): - Ok
- Robert W. (4/5): - old style motel was good, but it is not very updated, caulking along tub, cracks in sheet rock if there were other places to stay in town we would have switched.
- jim (4/5): - no tv when i had 3 football games to watch.
- Angelina (6/5): - Floors weren’t cleaned
- Mary (8/5): - Property is clean but not as nicely decorated or updated as it looks in pictures. Room had a working microwave, refrigerator, a fan in the bathroom, a working toilette and a bathtub that doesn’t get flooded which nowadays even reputable expensive hotels lack. It is nice that the sink is outside the room where bathtub and toilette are located. Great when sharing the room with other people. It has a table with two chairs to sit down and eat. It served its purpose for a one night stay to attend event.
- Maria (2/5): - I cancelled this reservation several times because of a family emergency and was told it was cancelled only to find out i was charged on my credit card
- wickedfoodincamy (10/5): Very nice staff - Rocky was very nice and helpful. He always had a smile on his face and said hello when he saw us. The rooms were very clean and it was very close to everything we needed while we were there. We will be back next year!
- Walker (8/5): - Got into the room and cobwebs everywhere but overall was a nice room clearly had not been used in a while.
- Climber422661 (2/5): Wow. Not in a good way. - Only positive thing I can say is I didn't see any bugs.
What a sad, horrible and run down place. Front desk guy was rude.
Free Breakfast offering was a Jimmy Dean sausage biscuit that needed to be microwaved, but no microwave in the lobby. Actually told us they only serve alcohol at weddings but 10 minutes later asked if we were interested in buying a bucket of beer.
Game room is slot machines.
They have a pool table though.
Front desk guy drank 2 beers while we played pool.
Travelers sleep elsewhere.
- Dwest2006 (2/5): Pictures are deceiving! Stay somewhere else!!!!! - This place is NOTHING like the pictures!! I was looking for a nice retro chic place with a restaurant and got cold orange concrete walls, holes in the nasty dirty curtains, a paper light (seriously?!?!?), cigarette holes in the comforter, painted duck tape on the walls and ceiling, nasty shampoo/conditioner in the shower, and a closed restaurant!! I cannot believe Wyndham has their name associated with this place. It is disgusting. No good restaurants nearby. This is a place where people live and not just visit. Would NEVER stay here again.
- ROBERT (10/5): - the rate was good and the facilities worked.
- sue (8/5): - This is a dated property in the process of renovation. They have breakfast sandwiches and free coffee and sodas in the lobby. Beds were comfy, room was clean, price was reasonable. Took a lifetime for the hot water to get to the shower. Front office staff very accommodating.
- Laura (2/5): - Going retro means more than paint on cinderblock and furniture bought as other hotels go out of business. It means art, it means shag rugs, it means memories of the past.
They also charged me *six* deposits, almost caused a bank overdraft, I couldn't change hotels, the traffic at all hours was awful and you could hear it clearly in their rooms. Handicapped room was hardly sufficient, I felt trapped in miserable conditions plus there was no hotel restaurant anymore. There used to be. I had stayed there thirty-five years ago, I think the mattresses were the same ones.
The only bright spot was the last who checked me out. I liked her. Not the gentleman who kept pacing all over and wouldn't listen to me when he was at the front desk.
- Breigh (10/5): - Great stay
- jim (8/5): - everything was fine. stayed there in the past. no difference, although i didn't know if the restaurant and bar were open. of course i never asked and it wasn't important.
- princessl10 (10/5): Excellent - During our 3-night stay, we found the location excellent, room spacious, and the reception staff exceptionally kind and helpful. The front desk team was incredibly pleasant and attentive. We appreciate the outstanding service provided.
- 693scarletto (10/5): Great - I was truly impressed by the exceptionally friendly and personalized service provided during my stay. The entire staff exhibited a high level of warmth and willingness to assist, making every request a seamless and enjoyable experience. The hotel's strategic location, in proximity to shopping facilities, added to the convenience of my stay. Without a doubt, I eagerly look forward to returning to this establishment in the future. It was an unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a welcoming and well-situated place to stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Over priced for what it is. Staff in front not friendly; look annoyed when you check in. Roach crawling next to our bed within 5 min of us arriving and laying our things down.
- sallyhO9157DH (10/5): Many great restaurants near the hotel. Walmart was very close. The hotel was clean and nicely decorated. - Many great restaurants near the hotel. Walmart was very close. The hotel was clean and nicely decorated. Loved the modern look with nostalgic touches.Thank you once again for the best amazing service.
- reviewacct (10/5): Great hotel - Great room and loved that the movie theater is right behind the hotel. The room was clean and the front desk person was very courteous.Super service as i saw earlier.Im very thankful to them to gave the best service.
- M3070YJluisj (10/5): Great stay! - The hotel room was clean, nice and spacious. Breakfast to go is a great idea. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is just perfect and close to downtown area.Super super friendly staff and front desk staff was so nice,Thanks.
- I837IPdawng (10/5): Would recommend - Excellent staff service. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds, great service for an affordable price. My family was very happy and would recommend to everyone if they are in the area that this is definately the place to go.
- Edward (6/5): - It was okay.
- cathidag (10/5): Great Stay! - Extremely clean room. We loved the contemporary design. Everything looked really new when we were there. Really nice breakfast to go. Only downer is that there were very loud people in the room bext us but staff immediately took care of the issue.
- 35andriap (10/5): Great stay - The stay was great, loved the breakfast which was included. The place was clean and very close to the my company meeting. Enjoyed the stay.Hopefully i will come back again. Thanks for the best service. It was amazing and so comforting, like home.
- Jose (6/5): Last minute trip to Starved Rock - Room was ok, towels are old and hard, bed was a little musky. But, for one night was fine
NO COFFEE MAKER!
- Bsanabria (10/5): Everything I needed was close by and worth it! - Took advantage of the location to walk to dinner, check out a movie and have drinks. It was great. Service was top notch as always. Bed comfort can not be beat. What an amazing trip! I would highly recommend.
- Jason (6/5): Eh, I have stayed worse... - The bar in the pictures is not open unless you are there for a wedding according to the guy who checked us in. The bar looks like it would be really cool too. The room was clean but the excess holes in the walls from screws and what not was odd. The biggest issue is the guy checking me in was less than pleasant.
- hollymR5421PM (10/5): The staff was great!!! - The staff was great. The front desk person was very helpful and answered all our questions. The room was clean and bright, and the room service was always on time. Will be coming back! Thank you so much.
- hackney (4/5): - no coffee in room and out of regular coffee at office
- christinabA7531WF (10/5): Great place. Would stay again - Stayed here while traveling for my company. Great clean room. And even a pool table and gaming lounge. An excellent service received from them.I would highly recommended them to everyone. Don't hesitate!
- T5981DJanac (10/5): Best Stay - I stay here every month for business. Free coffee in the Lobby and it's nice to grab my breakfast and go about my day. They provide excellent service,Customer service was top notch. 👍Cant wait to gi back
- U7506CXrachelr (10/5): Reunion - We came to town for a class reunion. We were very happy with our stay. There was some noise from the room next to us but management promptly took care of it. Over all, great visit with friends and family.
- 714conners (10/5): stayed for a week and loved it - Our room was so clean and smelled fresh. We were happy to take in a movie at the theater right behind the hotel.I would highly recommended them for their service. We will certainly be back in the future
- jtV1466UV (10/5): On business - I was in town on business. This is the only hotel I will stay at. A great room and a grab and go breakfast.I needed extra towels and there was no one at the front desk. But when I went back to my room I called and they took care of it. Very clean room.
- RSummers23 (10/5): Good - Really nice room clean and comfortable,This hotel has a slots lounge and pool table. It was nice to unwind after work. I stayed a week here and it was a great stay. The staff was also really nice. 10/10 would definitely stay again
- kaysY7683ZU (10/5): Cool place to stay! - We had to get up very early in the morning for work. So the coffee in the lobby was great. The parking lot was great. Large enough for my truck and trailer.Staff was super helpful.Front desk staff was also cool. This is one of the best motel.
- Roger (8/5): - I loved the mid-century modern decor of the motel.
- Ron (4/5): - room window dirty door didn't close properly card entry had no green light to let you know it unlocked and with traffic on road you could not hear it door seal loose paneling on walls coming loose unable to turn tall room lamp on or off had to unplug from wall
- Maria (8/5): - We wished there was free breakfast with every night you stayed. Really liked how they cleaned and not go through your things and respected everything in your room. Also having a small coffee pot would be nice in each room. Again Also having at least 3 pillows on each queen size bed would make the beds little more comfortable.
- David (4/5): Nope, never again. Back is still sore. - I reserved a single King. Upon arrival we checked in and went to the room, the key card would flash but not unlock the room. I went back to the office and was told to push the door harder or kick the bottom. So I did, eventually I was on my way back to the office and the clerk came out. He tried his card and it didn’t work either, finally realizing the lock was broken.
We were then given a double full room, which I was fine with at this point. Could have discounted it at least though.
Hot water ran for 20 mins and was only like warm, not really a great shower.
Beds are literally a mattress on a frame with springs, at least I had two beds to choose from because 1 my back was hitting the cross bar.
I wasn’t expecting a high class joint, but for $115 a night I feel like I should have at least had some comfort.
- Jessica (4/5): Just okay - T
- Brenda (2/5): Crackhead room - After check in the room was nothing like what was pictured. It was clear to see that this room was used by a crack head. Blood on the curtains, paraphernalia track marks in the bathroom vanity. Duct tape keeping the curtain taped to the window frame. Broke. Outlet covers and exposed electrical wires. Drug resin in the bottom on the drawer on the side table. Poop stains on the sheets. Mold on the ceilings. We checked in and right back out in five minutes. And they are refusing a refund.
- Robert (4/5): - Me Florence i
Get pit by some things, next morning i saw a little spider on the on the comforter.when I come back home is very later, next day the frist thing I want to the urgent care. The doctor said is definitely pit by something. This is the worst place we stay
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don't Stay Here!!!! - Long story. Did not stay the night. Horrible place. Owner refused to refund money even though we were in the room for only 10 minutes. We had safety concerns. Worse place ever!
- Lacey (2/5): - STOP right here and look no further in the reviews. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER this place. Move it along and find another option or grab a tent and go to Pleasant Springs Campground 10 min away. We checked in to this motel due to rainy conditions for camping - Expectations were very very low due to what we paid but WOW. We instantly saw by the surrounding & lobby & halls we had been massively misled by the photos. Bus loads of workers were being dropped off as we arrived and they were staying two men per room along with many long term tenants smoking cigs everywhere. And everything was dirty & falling apart - then the room. Oh the room, we walked in and didn’t even put our bags down and went & jumped in the car and got out of there! Called Expedia who called the hotel who refused to refund us. Called it as a loss and went and camped in the rain which was the cleaner & safer option. Don’t do it.
- Timothy N. (4/5): - Where to begin?
We were put around the back in the corner in Room 111. Everyone else back there were long-term renters. A man sat in a chair next to our door smoking the entire night and next morning throwing his butts all over the ground in front of and around our door. He had a number of sketchy (presumably local) individuals stopping in and out of the room all evening.
The TV didn't work in our room so we called the desk. A man immediately came by and somehow made the TV (which was missing its stand, BTW) work for a while. But when we left for a while and came back, the TV had shut off and no longer would turn on for us.
The bathroom light and ceiling fan was missing its cover, and we were serenaded by maharachi music through another neighbor's walls for hours.
The queen beds are like cots with metal framework, but fairly comfortable. No breakfast and no pool: the cost was $115. Save for the convenience to Streator Fest, there is absolutely no reason to stay here with a family..
The room was suitably clean.
- Noah (4/5): - They try and put you in a smoking room if you have a pet. And be warned, the smoking rooms are bad. I was able to convince them to put me in a non smoking room, and they charged 30 bucks extra, rather than the standard 20.
- John (6/5): - Clean. Ok bed & tv. They had soap, shampoo and conditioner but the dispensers did not work. Needed a thicker blanket.
- Rodney (2/5): What a dump - Place is a dump. I have slept in better jails.
- Brian (6/5): - So much potential to be a great property, but needs to be cared for and maintained properly
- Christopher (2/5): - On the surface this looks like a nice place. When we went to check in there was a phone at the desk that you had to call the person to come to the front desk. We checked in and went to our room…..and it was crawling with some sort of fruit fly type bugs. We immediately checked out.
- Mary (10/5): - like the old record player in the office and the very clean room the dislike is the snow near the rooms
- Ivan (8/5): - like the pool table and games but was told new years eve had to leave cause of a party
to bright around the huge window and the door leaked air
- Carrie (10/5): Loved it - The employees were friendly and helpful since we had never been there. Room was nice and the bed was comfy!
- Roslyn (10/5): Retro motel - Jacuzzi tub but no shower. Good looking retro room. Comfortable bed.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Unexpected fun - Room was a bit rough. Broken spring in the bed that creaked and groaned with every subtle move. Table lamp had cord wrapped around it because there was no place to plug it in. Front of dresser drawers fell off in our hands. But, it did have a mini fridge, microwave, updated sink, and shampoo and soap. Ladies at the front were very pleasant and helpful. The bartender had a great personality and was also very helpful. A few slot machines in the bar. We got to view a ridiculously amazing wresting event, in their event room, through the glass windows in the bar. We came to visit Starved Rock State Park. We needed a place to sleep and get clean. That's what we got. We would go back.
- Nikki (2/5): Don't Stay! - Dead bugs on the floor. Dirty footprint on the tub floor. Had 4 people in room only 2 bath towels. Requested more and never given.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - New interiors. Clean and pleasant. Beds comfortable. Shower strong. Fridge and microwave. We didn’t use the tv but it was big screen.
- Tom (8/5): Starved Rock Motor Inn - Hotel Manager is the best!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The only area that was nice was the event area. I would not recommend this place. I had reserved an accessible room. I was extremely disappointed.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Loud music coming from a bar or something when we entered the office. The front desk worker was nice but more worried about the toner in the printer than being attentive to the customer. The ROOM where we had to go to get ice was disgusting. The bed was basically a king sized metal cot with a very hard mattress on it. We only received one washcloth for 3 days. The front desk person gave my husband 2 floor towels instead of washcloths. He could barely speak English. The ones we received the day before appeared stained. The traffic noise was very loud and there were several spiderwebs underneath the chair and other other furniture. However the lighting made it difficult to see if the room was clean or not. 2 lamps were the only lighting in the room. There was a hole burned in the very light spread on the bed. No extra blankets available! This could be a nice place with some renovation, cleaning, painting, and better attention to service. I realize the price we paid was cheap but it was the only other choice we had in Streator. We had a 99th birthday party for our Aunt and there were no rooms available at the AmericInn and the Relax Inn looked worse than the one we chose. We drove from Alabama and were exhausted when we arrived and needed a hotel nearby, not to have to drive back and forth to Ottowa. Needs new management that could make this a nice family hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This is definitely a no frills motel. The customer service was great and bar was very cool! The room is basic, the sheets were clean, but the bathroom was not.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Although an older hotel, i could definitely see the retro vibe upgrades that had taken place. The bed was comfortable which speaks volumes to someone who has had three back surgeries! Enjoyed the stay.
- cindy (6/5): - The room was clean. I reserved a king size bed and they gave me two queen beds. The tv didnt work when we checked in. But they fixed by the time we got back to the room. The friday clerk was very nice the weekend clerks were ok just not super friendly.
- Anne (6/5): Shocked. - Linens thin and well used, no blankets only sheet and thin bedspread. It is very old and they are trying to update but it was shocking for a Wyndham hotel. Price lower.
The name is deceptive. It is 30 miles away from starved rock.
