- Paula (10/5): Wonderful stay - A very beautiful and well-located hotel in Galle. We loved our stay here. The hotel is elegantly designed, with spacious rooms, and with only three rooms in total, it feels very peaceful and quiet. The staff were very kind and helpful, and the room was spotless and had everything we needed. We also had one of our favourite breakfasts here, which made the stay even more special. Overall, a top hotel that we would highly recommend!

- Gerardo (9/5): - Tienen un montón de detalles para hacerte sentir lo más cómodo posible. Tanto la recepción (excepcional) como cualquier petición hace que la estancia sea maravillosa. No tienen nevera pero puedes pedir en recepción agua fría en cualquier momento. El único problema que hay es que las ventanas va con unas persianas de madera tradicional que no pueden abrirse, por lo que la única manera de tener luz natural es abriendo las ventanas y escapándose la temperatura interior de la habitación.

Due to the layout of the property, the sound travels from the kitchen and reception area into the room. Ie Don’t expect a sleep-in as they make the (excellent) breakfast.

- Aeneas (10/5): Amazing hotel in Galle Fort - This is by far the most beautiful hotel we had in Sri Lanka. The hotel itself is a heritage building with a lovely courtyard. The building and the room were beautiful and comfy. We got a tasty mango juice as welcome drink. The breakfast is delicious and freshly prepared. The staff is really kind and helpful. We could even fill our water bottles in the hotel since they had filtered water. The location is great. The attractions of Galle Fort all are in walking distance. There are amazing restaurants and coffee shops around. There is just a little traffic and it is forbidden to honk in Galle Fort, so we had a very quiet night. There is nothing to complain about!

Staff were brilliant and were very accommodating with the breakfast for my coeliac friend. Breakfast was delicious. Great breakfast - one of the best we had in our 3 week holiday. Make sure you visit The Bungalow restaurant when you’re here! We would have loved a pool - there’s room for one in the courtyard!

- Ines (10/5): - Tolles, kleines Hotel mit einem wunderschönen Innenhof und sehr stilvoll eingerichtetem Eingangsbereich und sehr schönen Zimmern. Super Lage im Fort mit vielen Möglichkeiten (Restaurants, Shops, Sightseeing). Großartiges Frühstück mit riesigen Portionen (hatten die lokale Version mit Roti, String Hoppers und verschiedenen Curries), dazu gab es eine riesige Fruchtplatte sowie Joghurt mit Müsli. Unglaublich freundliche und zuvorkommende Mitarbeiter. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen! Die Klimaanlage ist in der Nacht leider mehrfach ausgefallen und musste neu eingestellt werden.

The bedroom, communal areas and staff are really top notch here and the location is within a stones throw of all of the sights, shops, restaurants and cafes. - Barry (10/5): Fantastic little hotel with amazing staff - This place is excellent! This small historic building is a wonderful place to stay. Right in the heart of the old fort yet so peaceful. Rooms are clean and a very good size. What makes this stay even better are the staff. They are so polite and helpful. The tropical breakfast is fantastic. Only 3 or 4 rooms meant we felt like we had the place to ourselves. It’s like having an AirBnB but with staff to look after you. There is nothing to not like !

The property itself is charming, peaceful, and perfectly located, but what truly made the experience special was the incredible staff. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine kindness made me feel so welcome from the moment I arrived. Also, one of the best breakfast we have had in SL. The service was outstanding, and the staff were exceptionally kind and attentive throughout our stay. The room was unbeatable — spacious, comfortable, and beautifully appointed. Having a bathtub was a real plus, especially to relax after a long walk around the fort. Breakfast was incredible, with great flavor and high-quality products. There was absolutely nothing I didn’t like — it exceeded all my expectations.

This boutique hotel is actually a retired and extended 17th century trader's house. It has been beautifully restored, tastefully decorated, is elegant, quiet and exudes calm.The rooms are beautiful and the gardens lush and very well maintained. Also the best breakfast we've had in SL. The staff were so welcoming and friendly yet professional. Nothing was too much trouble N/A
- Andrew (10/5): A dream stay in Galle - Location, beautiful historic building, staff who went above and beyond, delicious home cooked breakfast , spotless very comfortable room The whole experience was the best we had had in Sri Lanka. The only negative was the tuk tuk to the station. We had used pick me regularly during our travels. Pick me quote 300. We asked the hotel to arrange a tuk tuk to ensure we put our money to a local. The cost 700. Not a lot but left a sour taste being more than double than we expected.

Amazing manager, tasteful modern interior in an old house, quiet rooms - the aircon was even switched on for us before we arrived. One of the best places we stayed - don’t miss eating the most delicious food in Galle at the Bungalow just down the road! We should have stayed 3 nights not one! Lots to do there!

I would highl - This hotel was great, lovey rooms and very large kitchen and lounge area downstairs. The staff were extremely attentive which made our stay lovely. I’d also like to add we had a late flight and they let us keep our bags free of charge and allowed us to use the lounge and kitchen areas throughout the day, even though we had already checked out. They also let us shower using the communal bathroom which was very nice and clean which made our last day stress free! We are really grateful for such kind hosting! Finally, the hotel is in a great location in the fort where you can walk to whatever you need! I would highly recommend staying here if you are coming to Galle! Nothing!

- Florence Eccleston (10/5): Worth a stay in Galle in itself! - I wish I could give this place more than 10/10. It is absolutely unmissable. From the beautiful architecture, to the extremely comfortable beds, waking up to the sound of monkeys and birds, the gorgeous garden....we could have stayed forever. The decor and aesthetic choices here are really something, and it is also very clean. A perfect boutique hotel, that in my opinion is amazing value for money. We were treated like royalty by the lovely attentive staff, given lemon-scented hand towels on arrival and an iced tea, and served such a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast, handmade in front of us (I saw a review which said there was no choice, but there is plenty, including continental options instead). It was up there, if not the best food we had on our month-long trip to Sri Lanka. Nothing was an issue - a cup of tea, ironing etc., and all delivered with a smile. We loved it so much we started devising how we could come back and attempted to make a stop again on our tour around the country! Alas it hasn't worked out, but we are scheming for another visit at some point in the future!

The place is a beautiful historical building well placed within Galle's old fort walls, with everything in walking distance. The room is very spacious, well curated with a very big bathroom as well as an unexpected walk-in closet; bed is very comfy too. The staff is absolutely top notch, always available in case you'd like a tea or coffee at any time whilst being very very kind. Don't forget to enjoy breakfast at this place as it's an experience on its own! There is really nothing bad (or even remotely close to it) which can be said about this place

Quando siamo arrivati ci hanno accolto con un asciugamano fresco e un tè freddo buonissimo! Il personale è molto preparato e disponibile per ogni esigenza: avevamo bisogno del servizio lavanderia e abbiamo avuto i nostri vestiti puliti poche ore dopo! Le camere sono bellissime e i letti molto molto comodi, l’unica pecca è che non ci sono prese vicino alla testata del letto (almeno nella nostra camera). Colazione deliziosa fatta al momento dallo staff. La posizione è ottima, si esce e si è già in centro. Torneremmo volentieri! Prese della corrente distanti dal letto.

L’emplacement dans la vieille ville est également un très bel atout. La rue et l’hôtel sont très calmes. Nous avons même pu voir des singes dans le jardin. Tout est parfait

- Zhu (10/5): This hotel is like a beautiful oasis… be prepared to be amazed - A perfect vacation oasis with home touch. My favorite hotel in Sri Lanka has to be this. Being inside is like in a private gallery. Can’t believe that there were only less than 5 rooms in this mansion with great mixture of art, history, nature. Pretty much experienced the luxury of exclusion while in the heart of the old town. Special thanks to the attentive staff who made amazing breakfast and shared some lovely stories at our Christmas eve. None
- Shannon (10/5): Dutch-Ceylonese living away from home at its finest - If you're after a tranquil accommodation in the heart of the Galle fort, this is definitely the place you'll want to consider. The thoughtful architecture and homage to its Dutch heritage provided my wife and I a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the Fort. Special mention to Kavindu and his team, the home's caretakers who were incredibly attentive and really understood how to blend in with the residence's 'character'. Highly recommend opting for the master bedroom with its bath tub!
