I LOVED that it was so clean. The girls did a great job every day. It leaked when it rained, but I threw some towels down and it was good.

Staff kept us supplied with fresh towels and if we needed something they responded quickly. Location is very close to the beach. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Had a large family group next to us that took up several rooms and they overwhelmed the common walkways outside of their rooms and were very noisy. They also overwhelmed the pool when they were all in there together. It was difficult getting into the jacuzzi tub to take a shower since the sides were high and we are older. Rooms were a little smaller than expected and could use more drawer space for storing clothing. There were only 3 of us and it was tight with a weeks worth of clothing.

- Valerie (4/5): Bed bugs!! - The property itself is fabulous. Ideal location, wonderful mid century modern architecture and style. Our room had a very odd smell and we discovered bed bugs on our mattress. Automatic deal breaker! Didn’t even stay the night - checked out as soon as we saw the bed bugs. Later found out that the property was aware of the bed bug situation on the fourth floor, but never mentioned anything to us. Such a shame. The motel itself is beautiful, but apparently not clean. Will not be staying there again.

The problem was that the staff quits work at 5 PM, so if you arrive later than that there is no one to give you a key or get you on the internet. Luckily we arrived at 3 and got to talk to a staff member, but if we had arrived much later--as we originally planned--we would have been out of luck. Also, we found that almost all the restaurants were closed in early october. We spent an hour looking for somewhere to eat. I am sure it is different in summer, but beware in the fall!

The rugs in the hallway were gross - it was the end of the season and they received a lot of traffic during the season, but they still looked gross. Being able to adjust the air conditioner would have been nice. We set it at 70 and it never got below 74. The thermostat said 70 but it did not reach that point.

Corn hole and mini golf were a nice amenity that my kids enjoyed. The staff was very nice and professional. They provided plenty of towels throughout our stay. Our room had two king beds, which is hard to find in many of the motels in the area, which was awesome. It was a good value and provided what we needed for our mini getaway. Great place for families. This is a more noiser section than other areas of the crest. If you dont mind late night pool noise and concert noise on the weekends, this is a great place. It didn't bother my family too much. It was just a little hard on my kids because they were younger and wanted to go to bed around 930 10, and it was still pretty loud at that time.

The vibe in general was really nice. I'm definitely coming back again. It's just a tad bit of a walk to the boardwalk, but other than that, it's perfect.

- Sandor (9/5): A great hotel and a great stay! - Our 1-bedroom townhouse was the best! As a family of 4 with 2 small children we had so much room to spread out. Normally in Wildwood we'll rent an Airbnb condo and we end up feeling like we're on top of one another because they tend to be small, but not at Shalimar. It was so spacious, clean, and well-maintained. It's within an easy 1-block walking distance from the beach and the pool was always so nice and warm. The unit's kitchen was stocked with glasses, plates, and the like, but we opted to go out and buy disposable kitchenware so we didn't have to do dishes all week. A sweet detail that we appreciated was Shalimar's staff doing towel art each time they tended to the room and gave us new towels. The staff at Shalimar go above and beyond - upon finding out that my daughter's new stuffed animal from the boardwalk had a hole in it, a staff member offered to sew the hole and then she delivered it back to our room. My daughter was so happy! We would absolutely return to Shalimar and we recommend it to anyone. A few things we would change: - The only mirror in the unit is a small, odd-shaped mirror above the sink in the bathroom. (It matches to doo wop architecture and looks nice, but it is small.) A full-length mirror would be nice to have somewhere. - Only bath towels and washcloths are provided, but no hand towels for drying your hands. We used washcloths throughout the week to dry our hands, but neither the bathroom nor the kitchen has anywhere to hang up a hand towel. A hook in the bathroom would be nice. - The unit could use more storage, more seating in the living room (though I'm not sure where it would go), and a coffee table in the living room space would be extremely helpful.

- Abel (6/5): The Shalimar is convenient with decent sized rooms but the cleanliness was very low and it's noisy - The pool was nice. Loved the mini golf and ping pong for the kids while they waited for us to load and unload beach gear. Room and bathroom were big. The parking spaces are an actual nightmare. People park horrendously. Our shower was not clean and someone else's hair was all over the bathroom. The towels were also full of other people's hair. Skeeved me out. Kids were running around at 11:30 at night. You can hear everything everywhere.
- George (10/5): We will be back - Great place to stay. The hotel was clean, the staff was nice. We will be back. The parking lot of tight, but all of the hotels have the same problem.

The room with the kitchenette has a tiny bathroom - so small that when you open the door, it hits the toilet. If you have small children, be advised that there is no extra latch from the inside. Also, the pool fence does latch but when people come and go, they often leave it unlatched. Just something to be aware of if you have a toddler. All in all, the stay was good and staff was kind and courteous.
- Michael (10/5): Big Fun In Little Wildwood - The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the front desk. Its close to the boardwalk and the beach. The place was clean and the service was impeccable. I've been to a lot of places in Wildwood and The Shalimar is up there for best places I've stayed so far. I have zero complaints.

- Kim (9/5): - Elevator luggage carts spacious rooms. We have been staying in the crest for over 10 years and this was by far the best we have stayed in. We left the room around 11 and the cleaning lady asked if we needed anything and if we would like her to make up the room. So nice. Our room was by the corn hole and they did not enforce the 10 pm quiet time which if we would have had a noise maker we would have been fine. And the towels were scratchy so we would just say bring your own if that bothers you.

- Carolyn (6/5): Ok for a weekend trip - Mini golf, corn hole and ping pong on site. Pool was heated and fun. Complimentary mint infused water and Keurig coffee in the lobby. Close proximity to the beach. Rooms were small and outdated, especially the bathroom. Queen beds were small. Cleanliness was just okay, floor was dirty and sandy. Pool area gets really loud and rowdy in afternoon and evening.
- Robert (1/5): Disappointing - We checked in on August 17th-20th for a family reunion. Upon check in Emma, the manager checked me in all was fine upon arrival. Unfortunately I experienced a terrible fall by the barbecue area where there is a step down and I tripped and fell. I was in the ER for 9 hours. I injured my orbit , face , lip, shoulder, wrist and knee. Upon return from the ER I spoke with the woman at the desk who was kind and very upset when she realized how injured I was. She proceeded to be caring and professional and asked that I write a report as well as she took pictures of my injuries. She submitted them to whom ever she did but from that point on it was clear nobody there was on my side. I repeatedly asked at the desk from various staff including Emma the manager that the owner contact me with no answer for three days. All I was told is he has my info. I was upset, no consideration as to what occurred on their property. As a matter of fact as I was leaving to go to the hospital we passed the desk and nobody was there to take to info. Nobody from the resort came to assist when I laid on the concrete injured, I realize the concern for liability but I would hope thay have insurance that would handle that. WHERE IS THE HUMAN CONCERN? WHERE IS THE acknowledgement that I was severely injured on their property in an area that should have better markings and some sort of railing for safety. The answer I received from the resort was as far as they are concerned the resort was built in the 1960's and its been like that since and the small yellow painted line is sufficient. - Lillian (9/5): Great staff. Close to everything, room was clean and beds comfortable. - The place was clean. I had the kitchenette with full size fridge and coffee pot so I can make my coffee. Bathroom updated and clean and showerhead was nice. Beds very comfortable in back room for sleeping. Front desk were very helpful and welcoming. The parking spots are a bit tight.
