Guest Reviews
- Juanita (10/5): - Very clean in the non smoking area. Very friendly. And the rooms are spacious. I give it 5 stars
- Heidi (4/5): Only place available - Very run down, bed was comfy, small tv, bathroom old and toilet didnt flush correctly. Free breakfast included, toast, yogurt, peanut butter and two kinds of cereal. I had to ask for them to make coffee. I only stayed because there was no place else. Room was worth 50 dollars. I arrived late, around 11 pm. They seemed irritated.
- Harry (8/5): - Clean and quiet.
- Connie (4/5): - I would not recommend staying here! Registration area horrible with dirty fingerprints on the entry door, cabinet doors old, dirty, one hanging by hinges. Coffee spills on the floor. Dark & dreary!! Room had very stained carpet, dirty window, corners of bathroom floor filled with dirt, low stool, no in room coffee pot, very small TV, etc. Room just needs an overall redo.
- Ron (6/5): - It works
- Gregory (2/5): Sad excuse for a hotel. - They advertised breakfast but there was none. Had a cockroach run across my lag the second night. Towels were stained and ragged.
- Michelle (4/5): - Rooms are old
- Karen (6/5): - Breakfast was disappointing, granola bar, milk, juice cereal.
- LaVonne (4/5): - It was full of mold and I’ve been sick since staying there. But we were visiting family and it was the only place in town. Next time we’ll stay in Mitchell.
- Scott (10/5): - Good price but it’s not a high end place, clean just a little run down. Good value though for the money.
- Bridget (4/5): - This property is not very clean; although the room size was nice. There was no security, as all of the doors could be accessed by anyone. Also, the breakfast was a joke. Nutrigrain bars and dried cereal. The juice machine was broken! I do not recommend!
- Gerald (8/5): - Nice big rooms.
- shane (2/5): - Roof not fit for use due to inoperable bathroom
- Pamela (4/5): - Same fire alarm that was beeping in a closet when we stayed in February was still beeping 3 months later.
Air conditioner did not work. Heater didn’t work in February.
- Dianne (10/5): - It was clean and comfortable.
- Patrick (10/5): - It was fine.
- Ryan (4/5): - Receptionist could barely speak English.
- Gregory (10/5): Classmate reunion - Very nice, friendly atmosphere
- Don (10/5): - Hardly anything for continental breakfast, peanut was empty and jelly was moldy.
- Pete (6/5): - Convient and clean enough.
- Colleen (8/5): - The tv remote did not work.
- AL (4/5): - The room was about what you expect for $80 but you expect the room to be clean at any price point. Hair in the sink and shower, dirty toilet, generally dirty. The only edible breakfast was a handful of cereal bars.
- Richard (10/5): - Nice and quiet but couldnt get the door closed when leaving to go any place
- BARBARA (6/5): - The property is run down in need of paint. Outside bushes are dead and need trimmed.
Bottom of tub was not clean.
- Gloria (4/5): - Good location, safe, and easy parking.
- Todd (8/5): - Handy location for our needs.
- Debra (6/5): One night 🌙 - Was only "hotel" clean. But toilet, tub, and sink were clean. Musty odor in the room. Needs a lot of cleaning as well as overall redecorating. New carpets and beds a must.
- Patricia (8/5): - Property was quiet
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice quiet room - Our room was quiet, room service responded in a timely manner, motel receptionist very accommodating.
- Doug Brenda (8/5): - Tv did not work otherwise it was ok
- Rick (6/5): annoyed in parkston - Generally the room was ok. There was one issue however, one of the rooms close to us had a A\C unit that continiouslly turned on for 3 seconds then off for 17 seconds day and night all the time we were there.. It was very annoying!!!
- Kelly (10/5): Hunting trip accommodations - Was a hunting trip so I was not expecting a five star. Plenty clean and quite and free breakfast so I was very pleased.
- Judith (8/5): - Shouldn’t the jelly, peanut butter, butter be in individual packets? Same as milk. Instant oatmeal was not refilled. No sugar packets. Our room a bulb needed replacing and tub drained very poorly. We liked the quiet and price reasonable. I was looking for a hair dryer but didn’t ask. So my fault. Towels were clean etc I hope for safety sake cement is replaced in the front of the building
- Bradley (6/5): - Nothing. No coffee pot , cheap
- Kristen (8/5): Nice place to stay - Hotel was very accomodating. We arrived late and they had someone at the desk waiting for us. Clean room and very quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The Lobby had an unusual smell to it. The room was clean and very roomy.
- audrey (10/5): One of the best - This was our third night in S Dakota it was at the top of the list to stay or reccomend
- Justin (8/5): Nice Town - The owner was great. This Is Not the Radisson. As long as you know that going in you'll enjoy it.
- Perry (6/5): - Rather spendy for the condition: the entry door was hard to close(door striking jam); bathroom door drug across raised tiles to the point that the front and back panels were loose from the frame a foot and a half up, the finish was worn off the handle and was loose st some point wearing the door face around the escutcheon; the electrical outlets were worn out, wouldn't securely hold phone chargers; there was a note that the sheets were clean but may have stains that didn't come out in the laundry; on the eco side of things, they did only change linens every third day unless otherwise requested.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - There was no amenities…carpet dirty…beds spongy. Staff rarely said anything or smiled. It’s a roof over your head basically without frills
- Michael (10/5): Comfortable Stay and Very Nice for the price! - When I booked this I had low expectations for what I've encountered in smaller towns. My cousin recommended staying here over nearby towns since this place seemed to be the best of other choices. My Uncle had told me there was a separate building built in recent years to add more rooms. My room was in the new separate building. I have stayed in Hotels of the same price range as I paid for this, but were not as nice. While this was a Motel, I felt like my stay was in a Hotel in a pricier room of a bigger city. The breakfast consisted of choices of cold cereal (with milk), toast, peanut butter, jelly, and orange or apple juice, along with a few breakfast snacks. The town itself is less than 2,000 population. There is a Casey's across the road within walking distance, and combo convenience/grocery store, and a 3rd convenience store. You don't always find this in smaller towns. I would definitely stay here again the next time I am in need of a Motel/Hotel in the area. The photos below are of the room I stayed in, and are reflective of what is advertised on the Hotels.com website.
- Roger (4/5): < average - Amenities were lacking. At checkin she said that they had hot breakfast. The only thing that was hot was my toast.
Nice stay, but furnishings were outdated.
Cozy little place otherwise.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It's just a place to sleep when visiting the area. Beds are okay. Service is okay. Cleanliness is okay. Maintenance is less than okay. Breakfast is little more than coffee. Not many options unless you want to drive another 20 miles north to Mitchell.
- Jurnee (2/5): Negative Stars - I booked this room for my son as he was passing through. I though he was alone, so booked for one guest. He had a friend with him, and after getting checked into the room the front desk lady came banging on his door demanding more money for the second guest. I paid for the room over the phone and the motel had my phone number so she should have contacted me. He didn't have the money so they had to leave, yet i still got charged. Terrible service, horrible experience, crappy employees. Save your time and money and stay anywhere else.
- Carla (8/5): Family wedding - The motel was as expected. They have a huge assortment of rooms-handicapped to 2 beds plus a sofa bed or twin. We stayed in the deluxe part. Clean but parts were haphazard (i.e.bedskirt hanging). Continental breakfast affected by covid so not their fault. We ate elsewhere anyway. Served our purpose (family wedding).
- Lori (2/5): - Like nothing other then it was close to Tripp. The hotel was disgusting!!!! There was blood on the toilet handle, the wall, carpet and there was also mold on the shower curtain. The room was so dirty!!!!! We checked in after 9:00pm and left shortly after 1:00am because it was so bad and we needed to find a better place to stay!!! We asked for our money back but we’re told we couldn’t Because we had been there 8 hours which was not correct because any way you figure it 9pm to 1am is not 8 hours. We had 2 rooms and they both were so incredibly disgusting!!!!! We were very disappointed with the room and with the service we should have gotten our money back for how bad it was!!!!! Never ever going to stay or recommend this hotel to anyone not even our worse enemy!!!!!! The worst place ever!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nothing fancy but was clean. - Desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was nothing special but was clean. Girlfriend and I were in town to visit family and just needed the room for a place to sleep and this met the bill. Nothing fancy.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location was what I needed. It was clean but the carpeting was stained. The gap under the door allowed more noise from other guest going in and out.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was relatively clean. Sheets and towel are not high quality but they were clean. Lamps and chairs were all pushed against the walls and in the closet area. Good for vacuuming but looked very strange in the room.
There was a giant push broom that stayed at the top of the stairs or in the hallway every day. We stayed for 3 nights and our soap was never replenished. The last night, the door to the supply closet was left wide open and we helped ourselves.
Breakfast was very bare bones. The coffee pot was empty every time we were in there.
Our options were limited based on proximity to where we were visiting, but my opinion is it’s overpriced even for the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Always a pleasant stay. Clean, quiet, easily accessible to everything needed.
- John (10/5): - Excellent place. No issues.
- Kyle (8/5): - Clean rooms. Service was ok had to call to get someone to check in but not a big deal.
- Brian (8/5): - Have stayed there several times and always a pleasant experience.
- Verified traveler (6/5): The only motel around - There was to much furniture in the room . I'm thinking at one time it was a very nice place . It's not a bad place
- Pamela (8/5): Inexpensive and clean - We just needed a place to sleep and we are not looking for luxury and this fit the bill. 20 miles from I90, clean room, not crowded or noisy, hot shower and breakfast in the morning. It was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful.
- Sheri (8/5): Quiet hotel with good basics - Our family stayed 2 nights. Laundry room was nice. Breakfast was very basic. Room was clean and comfortable. The 20 minutes to Mitchell seemed long. It was very inexpensive. I would stay again. The nearby restaurant Schuver's had good food.
