Iets wat natuurlijk pech hebben is. Maar een goede hor in de entree en een anti insecten lamp binnen in de gastkamer had wellicht iets kunnen schelen.

The pool was lovely and well maintained, and the rooms had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. - Holm (8/5): Viele Mücken - Bei der Anfahrt sollte man sich nicht auf Google verlassen, da man sonst vor dem falschen Tor landet. Stattdessen das Schild Hotel und Daisy Country Lodge ansteuern, dann ist es leicht zu finden. Uns wurde ein anderes Zimmer als ursprünglich gebucht angeboten – zwar nur mit einem Queensize-Bett, dafür aber direkt am Pool. Für eine Nacht war das akzeptabel. Das Zimmer selbst war jedoch mit Deko überladen, was nicht unserem Geschmack entsprach. Wir haben sicherlich mehr als 50 Mücken beseitigt und waren froh, unser eigenes Insektennetz mitgebracht zu haben. Immerhin gab es zwei Flaschen Wasser und eine kleine Flasche Wein aufs Haus. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet, und wir durften erst um 10:45 abreisen, ohne die zusätzliche Gebühr von 100 Rand pro Person für eine spätere Abreise. Es sind diese kleinen Gesten, die den Unterschied machen und den Aufenthalt aufwerten. Bei unserer Ankunft war ein Mitarbeiter damit beschäftigt, den Parkplatz mit einem Laubbläser zu reinigen. Leider wurde kein Service angeboten, um uns beim Tragen der Koffer zum Zimmer zu helfen. Die Anlage ist sehr weitläufig und ein sicherer Ort, der sich gerade für Kinder gut eignet. Dennoch wären wir aufgrund des Preises nicht bereit, hier ein weiteres Mal zu übernachten.

Die Unterkunft liegt etwas außerhalb von Springbok, da kein Abendessen vor Ort angeboten wird, konnten wir aus mehreren Restaurant-Optionen in der Stadt wählen und das Essen wurde für uns bestellt und abgeholt - ein außergewöhnlicher Service selbst für südafrikanische Verhältnisse. Gut ausgestattete Honesty Bar, tolles Frühstück. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen.

- Corinna (10/5): Fantastic accommodation, friendly hosts and lots of fun for kids. - Fantastic accommodation with great rooms and breakfast, a beautiful and quiet garden, stunning scenery (especially in the flower season) and awesome entertainment for kids. The playground is exceptional with big jungle gyms, a sandpit, water play, little motor bikes, trampolines and there is a great putt putt course! Very safe and serene and a great place to stay if you want to see Namaqualand in bloom. The hosts are the most helpful, kind and friendly people. We absolutely loved our stay here.

- Pat (10/5): - Simply an amazing stay. We visited during off season and we were the only ones staying at the Guesthouse. Our room exceeded our expectations and the owner could not have been any kinder. They scrimped on nothing even though we were the only guests. We stayed over on a Saturday night and the small racetrack next door was making noise but it was only for a little while. Breakfast was first rate and cooked to order, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, granola, croissants, muffins etc. were also offered. As a bonus a peacock family with three chicks are out walking the grounds. I did have one issue and that was the rooster who woke me at 4 AM. We definitely recommend staying at the Daisy Country Lodge.

Each room was amazing! Alot of room to move around. The grounds were amazingly beautiful with wandering wild animals, along with tamed peacocks. (I've never seen a white peacock before). The place seemed to be geared for families. When I checked in the first night, my room was infested with 100+ mosquitos. However, they provided an insect repellent for the room. I used the entire can. The floor was full dead mosquitos. I suspect they left the door open at night with a light on at night, before we got there. I recommend that they invest in screens for the doors and windows. Otherwise, this place would of got a perfect score.

The rooms were huge and very clean and equipped with everything you need. We received such a warm welcome and was made to feel at home straight away, we went to a local restaurant that was recommended which was great. We travelled wide and far on this trip and we all agreed the breakfast we had at Daisy Country Lodge was the best! I wish them all the success in the future as they deserve it.

However the cockeral started crowing at 2 am outside our door and it went through the night both nights so we did not really get much sleep during our stay. The cockeral spoilt it for us I'm afraid but if that does not bother you then its a nice hotel.
