Guest Reviews
- Karen (10/5): Perfect - Very interesting building
All the facilities we wanted
- Nesta (10/5): Room for everyone - Size and comfortable beds for everyone Wasn’t anything I didn’t like
- Helen (10/5): A gem in the Eden Valley - It was such a privilege to stay in this beautiful, historic house. Although it is a genuine taste of Old England it has all the advantages and comforts of modern living.
- Alexandra (10/5): Incredible venue. So pleased. - Everything, the owners were friendly and reasonable. It was well kept, very clean and comfortable, not to mention beautiful. Everyone commented that they were so happy with the venue. The venue had everything we needed, towels, mini soaps and shower gels, and ever the basics like tea, coffee, sugar and herbs for cooking. I was very impressed and would definitely recommend. Literally nothing, it was lovely.
- Emily (10/5): - Amazing historic property, easily accommodated 10 people with plenty of space. Very comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. The owner was responsive to messages and very helpful. Slightly limited bathrooms for the number of people and the dining room was a little cramped for 10, but everything else was perfect
- Steven (7/5): We absolutely loved the house and it's history but it was let down slightly by the cleanliness. - We loved the history of the building and it is probably the most interesting place we've stayed. The mixture of history and modern upgrades was good. Whilst we appreciate that keeping a historical building clean there were some areas that were not as good as expected. Some of the kitchen trays were not clean. Toothbrush holder not clean in base so didn't want to use it! One hinge on the door into the utility room was hanging off so couldn't close the door and we tried to use this for the dog at night. Loo brush in the downstairs loo was a bit scary!!! These are meant to be constructive as we really did have a good time on the house!
- penelope (10/5): - Fantastic and very historic house brimming with character.
- Claire (10/5): Gorgeous couple of days , hope to be back. - Everything we needed. Lovely and comfortable. Spotless. The neighbours were a little tetchy with us while we were unloading about the parking.
- Ceri (10/5): -
- Jade (10/5): -
- Lucy (10/5): A fabulous stay - The house is a unique and beautiful building with plenty of space and artistic detail. It was very well set up and communications with the host very helpful. We really enjoyed our trip to Hever Castle nearby. We stayed during some hot weather - the fans in every room made this bearable. For a historical house the house was made as comfortable as it could be. Would have liked to open the window in the front bedroom overlooking the street for additional air flow. That was really the only thing.
- Vicci (10/5): Fabulous! - Stunning. Clean. Great communication Nothing!
- Sharon (10/5): Really enjoyable - Fab location great house, A couple more chairs outside - we had 7 adults staying, and a further 4 joined for Easter sunday, and there are only 4 seats outside, and the indoor seating was not really appropriate to take out. Just some directors chairs, folding picnic seats would do - just to be able to enjoy a drink in the sun outside the kitchen window.
- Chris (9/5): A great stay in a true gem of a property. We will definitely be back! - The whole property was immaculately clean and the location meant we could park the car up and walk to just about everything we needed Nothing of note
- Sarah (9/5): A comfortable stay at a unique property. - Beautiful house, very quirky yet comfortable. Great for history lovers.
- Philip (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (9/5): Beautifully presented, exceptionally clean. A garden would have given this 10/10 . - clean very well equipped & warm & cosy. preserved interesting history on the walls. no garden but there is a shared courtyard - pub opposite was a little noisy.
- Laura (8/5): Very good -
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Palna (10/5): Wonderful stay - we will be back! - Beautiful listed properly and lovely host - very helpful - we will be back! Would be even better if there was another toilet / bathroom.
- Gabrielle (9/5): Gorgeously styled house, clean and great host. - Stunning house and very clean. The host was amazing and helpful
- Sam (10/5): Edenbridge's Best Stay - Beautiful house with amazing original 15th century features. Well equipped for the modern day but still retains all of its previous character. Plenty of space even for larger groups. Bedrooms are all large with comfortable beds. Only two showers between 10 people is the only downside to a great property.
- Laithwaite (10/5): Gorgeous house - An absolutely beautiful house in the cutiest little town. The perfect spot for a group of friends or bigger group. One of the best finds. Nothing
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gerwyn (8/5): Very good - Perfect for 3 couples. Everything we needed. Location is excellent, in the High Street but still private. Shops, pubs, on your doorstep Only complaint is , we were 3 couples and there were no locks on the toilet door and bathroom
- Kay (9/5): Like a fairy tale. Our grandchildren just loved it. - A one off property. Quirky, spacious , homely loads of crockery so able to use dishwasher. Beds comfy. Parking. Location. If you like supermarket and nice pub on doorstep. Caroline the host was very helpfull with answering any questions. We felt if you needed anything extra she would sort it. The only thing I would add is that if you have mobility issues or younger children the two upper floor bedroom have steep stairs to negotiate which you would have to come down if you need bathroom in the night. This was not a problem for us. Also the second bathroom is an ensuite without a toilet although there is a second toilet downstairs. Not sure if these things are pointed out in the details. If not it would be nice to know.
- Jane (10/5): Wonderful stay in an exceptional period house - The property was a period building with character and luxurious surroundings Nothing.
- Matthew (10/5): Was a great stay for our onward journey - Such a unique property. Comfortable and a great location. Nothing
- Nigel (8/5): Very good -
- Horton (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing and interesting old building. Beds and carpet were comfortable and well looked after. We had a great stay. N/A
- Leigh (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing house to stay in. Clean, comfortable and lots of space, co sidering there were 10 of us we never felt cramped. The restored features were nice to see. Nothing
- Clare (10/5): My friends and I had the best 50th celebrations at Taylour House! - Taylour House and its owner Caroline are just Fabulous …. Caroline was fast in replying, really helpful and welcoming … our arrival time changed to being when it was dark and she’d popped back to the property to turn some lights on so we weren’t fumbling around - so thoughtful.
The house was excellent - my partner and I were hosting friends for my 50th so we had a sit down lunch in the beautiful dining room which comfortably sits 8 and also played quiz games in the lounge which is lovely and spacious. Everyone agreed the beds were absolute bliss to sleep in.
I made enquiries about another property on this site and had such a contrast in comms from the owner I’m so happy I went with my gut and booked with Caroline - hopefully we will find a reason to return!
THANK YOU CAROLINE FOR MAKING YOUR HOUSE AVAILABLE AND SUCH WONDERFUL PLACE YO STAY XX Nothing to dislike about this property at all
- Hilary (10/5): Great location, fabulous property and excellent value. - Very spacious and comfortable and well fitted out There are only 2 bathrooms, one en suite without a toilet and 2 toilets. Not really enough for 10 people but we were only 5 and managed.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helene (10/5): Absolutely great! - Magnificent historic house, very well maintained, very spacious and comfortable
- Aimee (9/5): Amazing stay, very clean and well thought out spaces, would absolutely return here! - Absolutely stunning home, lots of space for our party to enjoy. The kids had a whale of a time with all the bedrooms. The bathroom with freestanding bath was absolutely lovely and the children enjoyed having a bath in the “swimming pool”. The place was very well kit out with all the cutlery and utensils needed and more.. dishwasher was a big bonus. Games room was a hit for the kids who spent hours playing in there. House was very clean and tidy and decorated to a high standard. Overall amazing stay and would definitely return. One thing that we noticed were that the windows were very thin so we did hear a lot of noise out on the high street. Other than that our stay was perfect and I could not fault it.
- Emma (10/5): Historical and Glamorous- a little luxury and perfect for a group - Incredible house steeped in history and space. Not just a bog standard air bnb it has loads of lovely finishes and touches. Such a beautiful house. 10min walk from the station, perfect for a big group.
- Jess (10/5): Exceptional - Caroline was an extremely communicative host and allowed us early check in & late check out when she knew she had availability. The property is gorgeous, so interesting and steeped in history - the photos don't fully do it justice! There is a toilet room downstairs, a full bathroom upstairs and one room with an en-suite containing just shower and sink.
The beds were super comfy & the furnishings all suited the property well. The kitchen was well-equipped enough to cook a couple of meals and serve on the counter. It was a great space for a group weekend away. The town of Edenbridge is small but has supermarkets and a couple of nice pubs with gardens. Overall our stay was great and we wish we could've stayed longer! none
- Louise (10/5): Beautiful house - As soon as we walked into the kitchen, we were so excited to explore. There were rooms and stairs that we kept on discovering - even the little secret room ....
We loved the original wallpaper and little coat of arms in the door frame.
We were a 3 generation family celebrating a birthday and all of us loved it.
As it's so old, some of the stairs and flooring were a bit wonky, but it all adds to the charm.
All the furnishings and beds were so comfortable. The kitchen was fabulous for cooking a meal for 9.
It was so welcoming and comfortable, and Caroline was a lovely host.
Thank you for a wonderful stay. Nothing really! The only thing would be that maybe another upstairs toilet would be useful - but it's an old house and the bathroom was beautiful
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely house, nicely renovated and had everything you needed for a group weekend away and lots of old character. Caroline the host was very helpful and welcoming. Nothing
- Bethan (10/5): Abaolute perfection! - An absolutely stunning house that was so welcoming. Nothing
- Nh (10/5): A beautiful period house and wonderful stay - A truly beautiful house to stay in and a wonderful experience. A group of us stayed and found the house to be spotless and all the amenities from the beds to the kitchen equipment fantastic. Very easily accessible by public transport and car. The host was very responsive and helpful to any questions as well. 10/10 recommend!
- Kim (10/5): Beautiful property in a gorgeous village location - Steeped in history, so much character and great location on the high st and within a short drive from Hever Castle. Comfy beds, excellent service from Caroline, well equipped kitchen and great all round! Maybe if there was an extra toilet upstairs.
- Vanessa (10/5): Amazing - Beautiful property, lovely decoration, really well kept and clean. The host was lovely and accommodating, we spent a memorable Christmas Day at the house and would definitely recommend the property!
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Everything you could need, like home from home!
- James (10/5): A real gem in the heart of Edenbridge - We used the property for an early Christmas Day celebration as our family wouldn't be together on the actual day. Taylor House was perfectly place, right in the centre of old Edenbridge with fantastic facilities. The property was spotless, well equipped and had everything you'd need for a great getaway. Communication from Caroline, the host, was brilliant. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The only thing wrong with the stay was we couldn't stay longer as we all had to go back to work! We all wish we could have stayed longer.
- Benjamin (9/5): Superb - Beautiful house, built in the 1400s with a lot of history and old wooden door frames and beams, but beautifully refurbished and appointed with modern fittings. Very clean and comfortable. Extremely spacious - my family of 4 adults and 3 kids stayed and we still had two unused bedrooms. Good location and very good value for money. Had some minor issues with the door lock (it didn't seem to engage fully), but nothing major.
- Samantha (10/5): Lovely weekend with friends cooking and catching up on a beautiful house with everything we needed. - The property is beautiful and really interesting! Lots of room for a group of friends! You have everything you need in the house and it’s ideally situated for exploring the area.
- Aloys (10/5): Super location - Authentic, well maintained, friendly people. Two parking spots. Good beds. Nice kitchen, Across the road a nice pub. bakery and supermarkets close by. Close to train station for direct connection to London bridge Nothing
- Christina (10/5): Simply amazing - Building is simply stunning. Super comfy beds and gorgeous bathrooms. Amazing attention detail and fully stocked kitchen. Prosecco and card on arrival was such a lovely touch! Can’t wait to stay on December again! Thank you Nothing I didn’t like but would love a little info sheet on the history of the building!
- Darrell (10/5): We only stayed 1 night & immediately regretted not staying longer as house and location were superb - The house is beautiful and in a great location in the middle of the village close to bars and restaurants. Nothing
- Ray (10/5): perfect - everything excellent property there was no dislike for this stay
- Amy (10/5): Beautiful house. You could sleep 10 people if needed! - The property was so beautiful! Everything was spotless and plenty of room! Owner was very helpful accommodating for all our needs and even left us a lovely bottle of Prosecco and roses which was very much appreciated! Reccomend 100%!!!
The property had some amazing artifacts and history in of your interested in that which we were!
Thank you Caroline so much for letting us stay
- Tel (10/5): We booked this last minute and Caroline the host was very accomadating. She made us feel very welcome from the moment we - A lovely old and charming manor house, from the wooden beams to the beautiful details inside, This Manor House is exceptional.
