- Adriana (10/5): -
- Daniela (5/5): - The location. Air conditioner was good Very basic and old rooms. I tried to reach the staff by messaging them and they never answered. The curtains didn’t close completely, so I didn’t have full privacy. No free drinking water

Didn’t smell fresh

- Amy (4/5): Misleading hotel description led to disappointment - The location was central to the city center and key tourist areas while being set back from the road and quiet at night. The beds were comfy and fulfilled our needs. We chose this hotel specifically because it was listed as having 24hr front desk and including breakfast. We informed the owners that we would be arriving late in the day but were left stranded in the rain with no-one to meet us or assist us with entering our rooms that night. There was no breakfast, and no option to purchase breakfast. Very disappointed with the misleading listing, we would not have booked this accommodation if the listing were correct. The wi-fi hardly worked, if at all.
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Abdullaziz (6/5): Good stay but basic - The price was good and the place is ancient The receptionist was so poor to deal with the guest
And no system to see the booking online
- Vivek (10/5): Great stay and value for money - We nice and clean property with helpful staff.. it’s at the walkable distance from centre
- Daniele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Parteek (1/5): Bad - Very little room like servant quarter Its disgusting room
- Khamit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anais (10/5): 100% recommended - Perfect location, kind staff and everything was clean!
- Shehenaz (6/5): Disappointing Stay – Wouldn’t Recommend - Nothing I had a very unpleasant experience at this hotel. The fan was extremely slow, making the room uncomfortable. The shower had very low water pressure, making it difficult to bathe properly. The room was poorly lit, and I had to open the curtains just to get enough light to get ready. Unfortunately, the curtains didn’t even cover the window properly, leaving little privacy.
The outside premises had no lights, so returning at night meant using my phone’s flashlight just to find my way and unlock the door. Speaking of which, my door handle was broken, which is a serious security issue.
The staff were unhelpful and even mocked guests who had complaints, which was incredibly unprofessional. There was no one around to assist with any concerns. The WiFi was poor, and the coffee was of cheap quality, not even dissolving in hot water.
The furniture was old, the basin was tiny, and overall, the place felt neglected. It’s clear that guest comfort is not a priority here. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.
- Aadarsha (8/5): Very good -
- Bourke (8/5): Good for price - Good but was in first room on the roadside so noisy with cats and dogs.
Warm shower, good air conditioner, comfortable and clean bed.
- Fedro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fedro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alae (7/5): Good -
- I (10/5): Exceptional -
- Huw (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing support
- Bryn (10/5): A great homestay - The staff were very polite and helpful, and set up coffee/tea for us in the morning. The accommodation is basic with Aircon/fan, a warm shower and comfortable beds. Great price and hospitality. I extended my stay here for 2 more nights. Thank you! The bathroom was a bit old. Otherwise everything was fine
- Hsia (1/5): Bad - The owner is friendly, he even gives us raincoat. Lights not working, toilet door lock is broken, shower head is dirty, there’s some kind of holes design on the toilet wall which means people can see from outside, and the demo picture doesn’t match the real room
- Adelin (6/5): Pleasant - at 8:30am he started cutting wood! I couldn't sleep anymore! there were some ants in the room! Otherwise it was ok!
- Yasin (6/5): Just Fine - only sleeping Bed was Good bathroom, Outside area
shower was not working
- Yann (10/5): Exceptional - Staff is super friendly, typical balinese property, room with ac, close to ubud center. Had a great time
- Scholz (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely lovely. Small but clean, comfortable rooms with attached bathroom. Yes, the bathroom could be cleaner and sometimes the hot water doesn't work but this is a small mom&pop operation and you feel more like a guest of the family than a paying customer so I'll happily overlook that detail. Also, it is very quiet, yet centrally located.
- Lynton (6/5): Pleasant - The authenticity of the property and spacious room. Although the hosts/family who lives there were very sweet, this was very noisy property. I'm hoping some of them where guests. But every morning at 6am the families and hosts start getting to work. Albeit maintenance or just moving things around and talking loudly. Most people don't sleep to late on their travels. But I came to Ubud to relax and have some alone time before rejoining the rest of my group. I would've been better off booking a hotel or resort where you don't feel people are congregating and drinking in your room. I was considering to extend my stay, but decided against it when someone walked into my room at 6h30 in the morning.
- Macorlee (8/5): Very good -
- Mayank (9/5): Relaxing place at centre of crowded Ubud - The location is amazing in centre of Ubud with feel that gave you a vibe of living inside a balinese styled temple. Having being located centrally the place was not crowded and was very peaceful. All facilities inside the room was up to the mark & other facilities like laundry, eateries, massage parlors & trip booking counters were all within 750 mts walking. Reservation was based on strictly online basis(which isn't negative much), but as I was traveling with other friend who needed another room at same place then initially it was little difficult to convince them to pay by cash. Later on the hotel staff was convinced.
- Lukas (6/5): Pleasant - Close to everything you'll need in Ubud. The price for the value was ok. The first look of the room is nice. The aircon worked well. Ants, little cockroaches and you hear everything from outside and other rooms.
- Irfan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Balabanian (1/5): Bad -
- Lauren (7/5): Conditions vary widely from room to room. - The location is great, so much so that I actually stayed here twice: once at the beginning of my trip and again at the end. My first room was great: spacious, clean, strong shower with good hot water. The owners provide tea/coffee with a thermos of hot water each morning. Warungs and food stores are nearby so it was easy to get meals and drinking water. The property is set back from the street and is super quiet except for the noise of other guests. AC works well. My second room was not very enjoyable: small, smelled like animal urine, & no reliable hot water in the shower. The owner doesn't speak much english but I showed him the problem with the hot water & he kept trying to say it was fixed when it was not. He could get hot water to come from the sink but it would not stay on in the shower. I gave up trying to get it fixed. Although breakfast was advertised in the listing it in fact is not available. They also advertise an airport taxi but that is not available either. The AC's could use a good cleaning. I got a very bad sinus infection while here. I can't say for sure that the AC was the cause but it definitely made it worse. The staff enters your room when you're not there and does odd tasks- rearrange towels (not provide new ones), change ac settings or turn it off completely, may or may not take out trash, remake the bed (even though I make my bed daily)... I really found this intrusive.
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angus (3/5): Disappointed - Location very good, close to main attractions ,shops and restaurants. Also, close ATM'S.
All the staff was very friendly.
Nice Balinese garden with a tranquil ambience. Booking.com said : Airport transfer and breakfast. This is not correct.
Cleanliness: Sheet was stained, mattress with no mattress cover and was stained with blood and mouldy and smelt damp and horrible. Pillows were black with mould. Room needs a total deep clean. Toilet also needs a total deep clean!
We moved to another room and repeated the same pattern. We asked for two covers on the mattress and new sheets again. This room has no mosquito mesh. Shower difficult to operate and ran out of hot water.
Curtains very thin in room and allowed a lot of light at night.
Overall, these rooms need a total maintenance and replacement of many things.
- Bernard (8/5): Enjoyed it. - Location was good...very central to Central Ubud. while the room was basic it was comfortable and cleaned when required. Staff were very friendly and helpful with any requests or questions. Nice place to stay at reasonable price. For the price....it was fine.
- Navales (1/5): Terrible - Nothing I booked my first night in Bali at Duana Homestay (Ubud, Bali) - Date: night July 27th - 28th.
I informed them that my flight would arrive late and that I would be arriving after midnight. When I got there, there was no one to receive me.
I knocked a few doors and no one seemed to know where I could find the people in charge.
I had to sleep in the street that night. The worst way to start a holiday.
I am deeply disappointed and I would like to at least be reimbursed for that night.
- Artry (1/5): Scam. If you can still see this review it means they still haven’t returned my money or apologised for leaving me to sle - I arrived and nobody was there to let me in and nobody answered my messages or calls so I was stranded in the middle of the night going from place to place for 6 hours and was forced to sleep in the street. They still have not returned my money. I did not get to stay there. Nobody was there when I arrived.
- Mathilde (5/5): Passable - Good location and quiet. Cheap room, but basic I arrived around 11 pm, so very late, but had advised of arrival time. There was no one to check me in, it was dark so couldn't see any signs. Had to knock on doors and wake people up. Not a good start after tiring flight.
The owner was very friendly though next day.
- Judith (9/5): Excellent we would highly recommend staying here - Spacious room with lovely hosts. Hot running water and air conditioning. Perfectly located on a side road just off the busy main street. Lots of local restaurants serving good quality cheap food. Excellent value for money we would highly recommend staying here. Everything
- Johan (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Nice and cozy in the center.
The owner is kind and nice, really helpful.
- Vialkova (1/5): Bad - Location is good Bad Smell in the room, too many humidity. Owner doesn’t have what’s app number. Pictures and real room doesn’t match
- Helen (8/5): Very good - Setting in a traditional family compound. Quieter than expected given proximity to busy street. Value for money. Clean. Drain smell started to arise by the second day.
- Oliver (9/5): Superb -
- Emily (6/5): Very simple but enough for a few days - It’s hosted by a cute old couple and is very central. The room is small but has everything you need (bed, desk, aircon). There was a little bit dirt in the shower but I could wash it away easily and I had the feeling that everything else is clean. It’s a bit hard to find, cause it’s behind another Homestay but I had a really nice guest showing me the way. If you go up the stairs you have to keep walking to leave behind the other homestay.
The shower is either hot or cold, no in between and everything is a little old and rusty but functional.
- Myat (8/5): Very good -
- Edoardo (5/5): Passable -
- Selina (6/5): Good price but wouldn’t go there again - Affordable and located in the center so everything you may need is nearby Unfortunately the bed wasn’t clean, it had some stains on the bed sheet, bedroom wasn’t cleaned, the housekeeping stuff made the bed everyday but they didn’t actually cleaned anything and I had a lot of cockroaches in the room
- Ammar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Münir (7/5): What you pay , what you get . - Location is amazing . - Bed sheets and pillows were quite dirty .
- toilet are is not the best I would say
- There are some small insects everywhere so I have to put my luggage in to the middle of room .
I would say this is the price you pay for . But still such staff could have been improved. It’s not hard to improve such staff if you want to . So then you won’t see such comments :)
- Shahbaz (9/5): Superb -
- Jérémy (10/5): Exceptional - Very quiet place, nice ambiance and beautiful garden. The manager is very welcoming.
- Marnie (8/5): Very good - Cheap price, good location, nice grounds and good hot water The room was a bit run down
- Nika (10/5): Exceptional - the guesthouse property is in a very quiet area but right in the center of Ubud. It was very peaceful staying there. The host and his family are very kind. The rooms was comfortable and clean.
- Ye (8/5): Very good -
- Tuce (8/5): Good for a short stay - Location was great, very central but quiet. There are many shops and restaurants around. The room is ok but the bathroom is very old, needs renovation. Also because it was rainy season the room was always damp...
- Garland (8/5): Great little spot close enough to all the action. - Great location, friendly owners My room was directly next to the other rooms balcony and the guests were up quite late at night talking.
Not the properties fault, was just annoying for me though.
- Taimoor (9/5): Superb -
- Forrey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (7/5): Good -
- Maria (7/5): Good -
- Monique (10/5): A perfect place to stay in Balinese style - The room was situated in a beautiful traditional Balinese homestay. Close to restaurants en and all the main attractions in Ubud but in the homestay is a quiet and peaceful, in a green setting. All was perfect.
- Rita (8/5): Very good -
- Chandramowli (9/5): Good economical Balinese stay 5mins walk from the Ubud centre Shopping complex - Duana's homestay is located very close the Ubud centre shopping complex (5mins walk). The room was basic & clean in a typical Balinese house compound. Also priced modestly.
The old grandpa & grandma do a good job in maintaining the place & help you with coffe/tea/hot-water etc.
Scooter rentals & cheaper food options near-by in this road : ) Nothing. However, it would have been nice if they also provided food options (like the other homestay in the same compound). Never mind, you have many options right outside.
- Lucas (10/5): Great Location. Local Owner and staff - Staff Very Friendly
Location
- Priyanka (8/5): Very good - The rooms are nice and comfortable. The location is perfect and the old couple who host us are adorable.
It's a great place to stay for such a small amount of money.
Although when we reached there was no one at the house but the host was thoughtful to leave the keys for us.
It's a cute little cozy place. There is a nice coffee shop close to the house and an amazing restaurant named Dapur Mekpun ( must try). Just one thing needs to be a fixed hot shower. Whether it's cold or very hot there is nothing in between. It's a very small thing though.
- Ityraw (1/5): Bad - I didn't even get an answer back I haven't got a message back in days
- Lily (8/5): Very good -
- Alegre (9/5): Superb -
- Rizky (9/5): Superb -
- Eve (6/5): Pleasant -
- Bader (8/5): Wonderful - The location was great, and the owners are very nice people. The shower was wether cold or hot no warm water.
- Paula (7/5): Good -
- Omar (8/5): Very good - Very Modest room in a Balinese style house. Very close to the main Ubud strip which was very convenient. Host was very kind and even made us coffee in the morning.
- Abdelhamid (9/5): Superb - calm problem hot water in bathroom
- Joaquin (8/5): Good stay, nice people. - Good location. The people who run the place is really nice. Great value for money. Clean rooms. Bathroom is okay. Has furniture for sitting and for hanging out clothes. Need more appliances to charge the devices. Bit of noise in the morning but there are rosters in every places around. Preferably a bed table would be great.
- Arielle (7/5): Good -
- Ameena (6/5): Oils have been better. - The location and how serene and beautifully it was maintained. A bit too basic for the price. No contact with staff. No ventilation and so everything felt damp. No one to guide me to provide information about places to visit.
