• Caroline (5/5): - Stunning views of the river and a very grand reception make this hotel appealing but unfortunately the grandeur is only surface deep. We were surprised on arrival that nobody was around to help us up the steps with our luggage (in the rain) but the huge and impressive reception area was staffed by one young man behind a desk. Our room was large with a view of the river but seemed a bit grubby with marks/dead moths on the wallpaper and mould spots in the bathroom. We decided to stay in the hotel for a drink and an evening meal as we had spent the day travelling and it was raining. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed for either refurbishment or because it was not peak season. This was annoying, as it was advertised as offering breakfast too and although we hadn't requested this in advance we were hoping to use this facility. The area around the hotel is not great for bars and restaurants unless you want seafood!

• Thảo (10/5): Tuyệt vời lắm - Mình đã 3 năm liền đi Quảng Bình và 3 năm vẫn lựa chọn Riverside. Trong các chuyến công tác khác mình đã ở các ks hay resort khác nhưng vẫn ưa thích nơi này cho kì nghỉ gia đình nhất, nhân viên rất nice, rất gần các quán ăn, đối diện chiều tối là các quán ăn nhỏ nên tối không hề bị nhàm chán. Phòng luôn được dọn sạch sẽ, nhân viên chu đáo và hỗ trợ khách cực tốt

• Keith (6/5): Nice hotel just didn’t feel homely. - This is a nice hotel . But has not got a good feel for. It seem to be under staffed. Only one person on front desk. After all the hotels I have stayed at in Vietnam this one just didn’t do it for me. I will say the view from our room was amazing. 8 floor sea view. Towel rail in bathroom hit my head on it twice. But I am 6ft4” so most people wouldn’t have a problem. The hot water was not that hot.

• Sachin (8/5): Good Facilities, Nice Location Amazing people - We had a very pleasant stay at Riverside Hotel during our visit to Dong Hoi. The highlight of our stay was the beautiful room on the 9th floor, offering a lovely view from the window. The room was spacious and came with adequate amenities, making our stay comfortable. What truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by two of your staff members. The names are Thanh and Oanh. They were efficient, polite, and always ready to help with a cheerful attitude. When our luggage was misplaced by Vietjet Airlines, we were left without our belongings. During this stressful time, Mr Thanh took initiative to follow up with the airline to get the status of our lost baggage. He aso helped us navigate local markets and transportation. Their support brought us much-needed peace of mind, and we’re truly grateful However, there were a few areas that could be improved. We faced issues with the hot water supply and poor water pressure in the shower, which made bathing inconvenient. The shower unit itself was not functioning properly. Additionally, the room lacked a microwave, and the linen provided was not as clean as expected. Another point to consider is the location of the property—it is not very convenient for access to daily essentials like groceries, fruits, or medicines. Suggestions for Improvement: Ensure a consistent supply of hot water with good pressure. Upgrade or repair the shower units to ensure proper functionality. Provide a microwave in the room for guest convenience. Improve the cleanliness and quality of linens. Consider adding a small convenience store or shuttle service for access to nearby shops. Despite these issues, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the hospitality. With a few improvements, Riverside Hotel can offer an even better experience to its guests.

And built like Buckingham palace The staff must be the rudest in Vietnam which is surprising because everybody else in Dong Hoi was so incredibly welcoming and polite. Oh yes, kettle and cups in the room but no coffee or spoons provided. And for the price you pay, I thought this was disgusting.

• Amanda (6/5): stay was decent just wish they’d add vents to the bathroom so black mold wouldn’t form. - property was big and nice, beds were comfortable area was quiet and the shower had strong water flow. once you step in you’re hit with a mildew scent which goes away once you turn on the ac. the bathroom door was covered with black mold that was wiped off. the shower had a door but the water seeps out from the bottom so you have to be careful when you step out

The city view was good enough.

• Trina (7/5): Great value but don’t lose your key - 7th floor corner room. Beautiful view and cross breeze. Bedding was clean and great hot water in the shower. Reception staff were very helpful organizing scooters and arranging for laundry. Breakfast could use more variety of fruit. Rooms are dated and a little musty/moldy because of the humidity. All surfaces needed a good wipe down. Don’t lose your key - they will charge you 400k to replace it.

We informed the hotel in advance that we would be arriving early yet they didn’t seem prepared for our arrival and we had to wait 4 hours. It was difficult to communicate with the staff as those working didn’t speak much English. Wi-Fi was patchy and kept cutting out. Breakfast wasn’t really ready when we went down at 7am - we had some coffee and toast but it was very basic. Nice hotel overall but not worth the price.

One of the bed sheets seemed stained but it didn't bother us. The room didn't have a safe, so valuables were not locked. Bathroom was of good size but the towel rails were in an awkward position. Breakfast wasn't included for the price we paid, though, wasn't overly expensive for the area!
