• sjocowan72 (10/5): Exceptional experience - My son and I are on our first trip to Japan and wanted to explore more than the cities. From the moment we got to Kane Midori, we felt welcome and knew we would have a wonderful experience. They let us pick out our yakata's, took us to our room and explained everything to us. The yakata was so comfortable, the food for dinner and breakfast was delicious, the staff was very attentive and helpful, the baths were clean and every moment was perfect. I will definitely recommend this experience and will go back.
• Cindy (10/5): - This ryokan was lovely- all the staff were so accommodating and made us feel very special! The ryokan itself is dainty and pleasant. There was public Onsens for women’s and men’s separate (in the women’s there was 1 indoor and 1 outdoor public Onsen with shower room inside). You can also book a private Onsen when you arrive - they have 45 min time slots for 3000 yen! Also very quick walk to Yubatake and the bus station! Would recommend

• Verified traveler (10/5): 金みどり - こちらの旅館は3回利用させてもらっています。なかなか予約がとれない人気な旅館ですが、ようやくとれて家族を連れて今回宿泊させてもらいました！ 旅館の料理も最高に美味しくて、お風呂はつるつるすべすべ、送迎もしてくれてサービスもとても素晴らしいです！ 湯畑に近いのもいいですね！ 帰りの高速バスの時間まで受付のところの席で待たせてもらえたり、お風呂の後に体が熱くなってしまって相談したところ袋に沢山のアイスをいれてこれで冷やしてください。といただきサービスや気配りなど全てに満足のいく旅館です！ありがとうございました！草津に行く際はまた利用させてもらいます！

• Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful ryokan with private onsen options - This is a very beautiful ryokan. It has gone through renovations so the interior is new and modern, but it has also retained the charms of a ryokan with tatami floors, indoor gardens etc. The room is very big and well heated. I wish I had more time to hang around the ryokan! We had a half board, which includes dinner and breakfast. There was a good spread of local food, I got to try quite a few new food items that I haven't had before. A private onsen can be booked for an additional charge, about 3300 yen - Great for travellers who prefer or are unable to use the public bath. The ryokan is located almost right in the middle of Kusatsu onsen where all the shops and attractions are. The only unfortunate experience we had was communication with the staff regarding parking. When we checked in, the staff told us that we would be able to extend our parking at their premises for a few hours beyond the default time of 12pm by topping up for another day's worth of parking fees. However, on the day of the checkout, another staff told us that it was impossible to extend. Not an unpleasant experience, but it would be better the staff were on the same page.

• Owen (10/5): - Our stay here was wonderful. Two adults and 2 children in a traditional room. Beautiful onsen area (male/female) which our girls loved. Staff very helpful even though not much English spoken it didn’t cause a problem. Great location to walk into town. My daughter left her iPad in a cupboard and the hotel kindly sent it onto our next location. They went above and beyond. Highly recommended!

Huge contrast ; is it only will help if snowing! Convenient to go to onsen and enjoy it! Staff not fluent in English. We had an emergency and the help they gave was quite limited. Food was ok but have to pay for your coffee & tea if you want it for breakfast. Maybe the meals they provide are traditional Japanese !

• chwen (10/5): Lovely stay - I had an amazing stay at Kanemidori. The ryokan is centrally located and the building and rooms are in great condition. The service was amazing from check-in and even after checking out-- the ryokan will offer to hold your luggage after checking out if you wanted to do more sightseeing before leaving town. I loved the rotenburo-- the onsen is kept clean and very relaxing. I wished I had an opportunity to partake on their meal plan but Hotels.com didn't offer that option when reserving the room.

• Sophie (10/5): - We stayed at this lovely traditional hotel for three nights. Even though the staff doesn’t speak much English, they make it up with wonderful hospitality. I told the staff to let my husband in at midnight because he’s on the last train, the front desk clerk told me there’s no more taxi service and offered to pick him up. That was almost midnight. When we checked out they also gave me a small gift bag for my birthday ❤️ Every day we can choose different traditional outfits for the hot springs. The bath room are separated by man and women. The outdoor hot spring is zen and beautiful surroundings. My first onsen experience. Yes you sleep on the floor on the futon, but very comfortable. And the staff set it up for you every evening. It’s an authentic experience for us. We truly enjoyed our time there.

• Verified traveler (8/5): 大変お世話になりました。 - 従業員の方が、皆様とても丁寧な接客で素晴らしく快適に過ごすことが出来ました。 車で行きました。場所がややわかりずらかったのが難点でしたがチェックアウト後も12時迄駐車場を利用する事が出来きとても助かりました。 お風呂は熱めでしたがカラダの芯から温まり日頃の疲れが癒やされました。朝日が入り眩しく心も体もリラックス出来ました。 部屋からの眺めは民家しか見えず到着時は残念なんて思いましたが翌日、朝日が昇るのが見れて陽射しが入り込んで爽快感たっぷりでした。 お食事は夕飯の量が多く全部食べきれませんでした。(申し訳ありません) 高齢の両親とだったので少なめをセレクトするべきでした。 器もこだわられていて素晴らしかったのです。 少々残念だったのが味付けが全体的に薄かった事です。健康的でしたがもう少しメリハリがあっても良かったように思います。 朝食は量も丁度よく、大満足でした。 館内の至る所と部屋の中に生花が飾られていてとても綺麗でした。 部屋、食事処、大浴場と場所も分かりやすく高齢の両親にも優しかったと思います。 素晴らしい一時をありがとうございました。
• Takumi (10/5): - 素晴らしいスタッフ様と食事内容でした。次回草津温泉に行く時は、必ずこちらをリピートしたいと思います。 老舗旅館なので多少の老朽化は仕方がないと考えでおりますが、新しくリノベーションした3つの部屋の内の1つを利用したのにもかかわらず、部屋のスイッチカバーがハリボテだったりベッド天井の照明カバーが1つ貼られていなかったりと、突貫工事のリノベーションだったのかなと思い、そこのみ残念でした。 ただし上記した通り、それらを含めてもまたこちらにお世話になりたいと思わせて頂けるスタッフ様、お料理に、大変満足したら滞在となりました。

• TATSURU (8/5): 草津のお湯は気持ち良いし旅館もなかなか - コロナ禍での対応としてはまぁまぁではなかったかと思う。そもそも高めの旅館なので客の数も少なく鉢合わせする事も稀でありそう気にすることもなく快適であった。部屋は広くて快適。和室で布団だったのだが布団がスプリング入りのマットレス風で気持ちが良かった。お風呂は当然良いお湯だったし露天風呂も広々していてとても満足した。
• Yukiko (6/5): - 今回の旅は高齢の母親に楽しんでもらう為の旅行でした。総合的にスタッフの対応は良かったのですが、 チェックインの際　部屋案内の方に母親の為にマッサージ師さんを呼んで貰いたいと相談しましたが『出来ません！温泉横のマッサージチェアーを使って下さい』とのご返答。 ネットで調べると他の宿泊先ではマッサージ師さんを呼んでもらえるとの事だったので違うスタッフの方に聞いたら すんなり手配して下さいました。 新人の方だったのかもしれませんが、 わからない事は即答せず調べてから答えて欲しかったです。 大浴場はとても気持ち良かったのですが お部屋のシャワーを使ったところ　繋ぎ目からお湯が噴き出てホースの口を閉めようとしましたがサビが酷くて閉まりませんでした。 その他は朝食のレストランのスタッフの方などはとても気持ちの良い対応でした。 ありがとうございました。
• MASATO (10/5): お風呂も料理もよかったです - 1年半ぶりの再訪です。出迎え見送りのスタッフの対応は素晴らしいです。部屋もきれいに清掃されてあり、料理も美味しかったです。 ただ夕食時食事処の若いスタッフが次の客が来るまでの私語の多さと、個室の畳に黒い毛糸クズの様なゴミが多く散らばっていました。ゴミクズは朝食時もそのままでした。
• Verified traveler (4/5): - 駐車場は結構やばい状態。そもそもあれを駐車場と呼んでいいのかな。車で行く客に全然考慮されていないのかな。館内のwifiは繋がりにくい、頻繁に接続し直ししないといけない。係員の態度はイマイチ。

• Verified traveler (4/5): 住宅街に佇む宿 - 湯畑からは少し離れたところにある宿です。夕食は豪華，朝食は普通。お風呂はそれほど大きくないので，時間帯によっては混みます。もう少し価格帯が安くても良いかと思いました。
• Verified traveler (10/5): 初めての草津温泉と金みどり - サービスや料理はとても良いです。苦手な食材にもその場で対応して頂き有難かったです。 湯畑まですぐの場所で観光も楽しめました。 45分3000円の個室風呂を利用しましたが、中はとても綺麗に管理されており、大風呂とは違い落ち着いて入れます。ただしお湯の種類が少し違う様でした。 部屋は喫煙の様でしたが、当方が禁煙者である事を事前に伝えていた為か、殆ど臭う事がなく過ごせました。😊 部屋の床が畳に見える？板の間の様で、マットレスも薄い為寝ていると腰が痛くなるのが欠点でした。😭 金額はそれなりですので、コスパが非常に良いと言う訳でもないかも知れませんが、気持ちの良い対応を求める方には向いていると思います。
• ETSUKO (10/5): 快適なお宿でした - 2種類の温泉、美味しい食事(量もちょうど良かったです)、スタッフの方々の対応、部屋(便座が温かくなかったのだけが残念。節電かな)…どれも良く、快適にゆったり過ごすことができました。ありがとうございました。
• Verified traveler (8/5): - 駐車場が凍っていて、怖かったですが、雨が降っていたので、傘を持って迎えに来てくれたり、宿の傘を使う様に勧めてくれたり、熱乃湯の割引券をくれたり、親切でした。 雪が降ったので、ワイパーを上げておいてくれ、雨で濡れた靴を乾かしておいてくれたりもしました。 チェックアウトが10時と、少し早いのが残念ですが、車は12時まで停めておいても良いとの事でした。 湯畑にも公共浴場地蔵の湯にも近く良かったです。 素泊まりでしたので、食事はよく分かりません。
• Verified traveler (8/5): Winter Getaway - Great stay at a modern take on a traditional ryokan. Fantastic location to walk all of Kusatsu but far enough from the city center to remain quiet. The private onsens are amazing and worth the extra expense. Great dinner experience as well. Friendly staff who catered to our poor use of the Japanese language.

• Mike (10/5): - 従業員の気配りが素晴らしい宿です。 湯畑から徒歩5分ほどの位置にある明治創業の歴史ある旅館。部屋、食事、温泉、全てにその気配りが感じられ、大満足でした。 特に食事はクチコミにも美味しいとありましたが朝食、夕食、全て手が込んでいて、期待通り美味しかったです。温泉は泉質ももちろん良かったのですが、混み合っておらず、ほぼ貸切り状態でゆっくりと入れたのも気に入りました。有料の貸切り風呂もおすすめです。 草津温泉に行く際はまた利用したいです！
