- John (1/5): Terrible ac and breakfast - Historic hotel Ac was banging all night on and off extremely loud. Got no sleep. Breakfast was awful. Deep fried hash browns like McDonald’s but burnt.

- Allen (10/5): Excellent! - I have enjoyed my stay here many times! When I am able I will attempt to always stay here when I need to be in town for an extended stay! Very quiet and very comfortable! Along with the beautiful architecture the place just invites you in to stay!

- Richard (6/5): We were very disappointed on how the hotel looked inside and outside. . - Didn’t have any breakfast. 🍳 the desserts we had that evening were good. Didn’t have any other meals. Our waitress was nice. We were disappointed by the condition of the hotel. By the pictures on the website it looked modern on the outside and inside. Though when we got there to check in we saw it needed renovations. The check-in desk was behind glass area which I was surprised. Prior checking in I was looking for parking or valet parking and there was none. I had to have my wife wait out side under the car canopy where I had to come in the back entrance. Than try to find my way up to the front desk which was not properly marked until I found the elevator and the lobby button. The lobby was dark and not properly lite up. The area around the hotel wasn’t the greatest. Once I found the check-in area the attendant was polite. The room was comfortable but old. The restaurant was dark and there were stains on the chairs etc.

- Boudreaux (4/5): The man with white hair at the check in desk was overall very rude and kind of ruined our experience - The hotel was beautiful! The rooms were clean and it is a beautiful place to take pictures. One of the men at the check in desk was VERY rude. White hair and facial hair. I don't know if he got too overwhelmed but he was not friendly and overall made me not really want to go back due to his attitude towards me, and the 3 other couples we went with. I honestly felt like we could've gotten better service at the holiday inn or even Mcdonalds.

My room was smelly, and the carpet felt sticky. Also, I was at a conference that had a lot of elderly people. Even though there were elevators, they weren't well-marked. And the stairs lacked support towards the bottom. I saw a lot of folks struggling with the staircase situations.

Missed the entrance at 20:00 pm so had to lug suitcase up stairs to enter. Could not see the entrance to pull up to. The pillows were horribly flat and hard. On 5th floor. Antique looking beds so got the ambiance we wanted but fridge was on floor, cover to airconditioner was half off. Looked bad and cheap and loud! AND there was a half drunk water bottle on the desk! So not a welcoming sight.

The advertisement said they have room service but they didnt. They do have a nice restaurant but they told us they close at 10 and when we went back at 9:15 to grab a dessert they told us kitchen was closed.

- Lu (10/5): Extraordinary. - Uniqueness, it's like staying in a museum, in which my son exclaimed, "we just spent a night in the museum!" It took a lot of money and effort to maintain a 120-year-old grand building complete with working chandelier, working elevator, working plumbing system, etc. Hotel Bently has done a great job so that we can enjoy a walk into the past. Lack of eating place. We felt bad "shooing" away another family playing cards in the temporary library, which is also the coffee area.

We tried to directly contact the hotel before arival numerous times without reaching a person. While at the hotel the only help was the front desk and he was too busy to help.

Also, glad we took out our shower before arriving and only stayed one night. We could not get the water on in the shower! Handle messed up!

It’s classy, yet still casual enough to relax in. This is my second stay and I came back because I liked the first room. The room that I received this time was a bit lacking. The room was smaller than I expected, smelled of mildew, and I had to search for the thermostat because it was on the far side of the room, high above the desk it was over. Maybe leave a sign to say where the thermostat is. Just was not as impressed this second time. Especially for the price.

Had a sazerac and it was nice to sip! Bed was comfy! Property needs some repairs and updates. Elevator was original to property, but doors were pretty dirty. Room and halls a bit musty smelling. No housekeeping during 2 night stay. Confusing to find the check in desk.

- Gretchen (5/5): Disappointing, but adequate. - The Bentley is a lovely building to view from the street, and parts of it are beautiful. There are also parts that need refurbishing that are visible to guests. To begin the visit the front desk did not present well in manner or dress. Our room was clean and furnished well. Brunch was adequate. I ordered a New Zealand Savignon Blanc in the bar. I should have sent it back, but decided not to make an issue of it. ( I should have.) The bottle must have been opened for quite a while rendering the wine not up to scratch. During the morning many guests wanted to sit out on the front porch. The sun was so hot that only a few tables offered a bit of shade provided by the columns. Birds were nesting above, and periodically a feather or part of a nest would float down. There were no awnings or umbrellas to provide pleasant porch seating. We found a small room that provided coffee, tea, and hot water near the lobby. We had not been told about it, and just stumbled upon it. Frequently when we entered that area it was occupied by ladies in service uniforms, so perhaps it was a lounge for staff. We were told at the front desk that there was no valet service, but if we needed help they would get someone. Even though we could definitely have used help with our luggage, we did not want to bother someone to search for someone to help us. Parking was only available on the street or across the street at a public lot.

On the second day the maid knocked on the door early in the morning even as we had the do not disturb sign on the door and tried to come into the room! No security measures you can walk off the street and take the elevator to the room floors!

The view out our window of our room was depressing, torn window curtains in other parts of the building shown. The main area and various party rooms were great, though, and the food was very good.

Going just a few blocks away from the hotel, and you'll find a less kept part of the city.....
