The stuff is super nice and helpful… available all the time on phone and physically The room was too small with super large bed… no place for the bags. But not a big issue for a few nights

- Leonor (7/5): Très bon rapport qualité prix, privilégier les dortoirs aux chambres je pense ! - Le personnel est vraiment vraiment adorable ! Il y a plein d’activités organisées chaque jour et tout est bien pensé. L’hostel est idéalement situé proche de la gare routière et du centre ville. J’ai séjourné en chambre individuelle, il faisait froid et humide après une journée de pluie ce n’est pas très agréable. La chambre donnait sur la rue très passante sans fenêtre juste les volets typiques il y avait beaucoup de bruit. La salle de bain était sommaire et il n’y avait pas de sèche cheveux.
- segers (3/5): - De ligging is goed, maar alles in salento is op 10 minuten wandelen dus locatie is hoe dan ook geen issue in salento I had some rude if not just plain arrogant encounters with the staff. Furthermore, you need to walk outside to get to a toilet if you stay in the dormitories so that’s something to keep in mind. The bedlinnen was full of stains when I arrived. Lastly, we upgraded rooms and they were very unclear with the extra costs so we had to pay extra twice.

- Ailish (6/5): - Estrella del Sur is conveniently and centrally located in Salento and is a great location to get to everything you need. The staff were also incredibly helpful, especially Carolina, and we loved all the hostel cats! The reason for below average room rating is because the first room we had was next to reception and was very noisy, it felt like you were on the street. Another lovely staff member (can’t remember the name, sorry) helped us and enabled us to move room, which was better. The hostel is quite noisy in general though as there is a nearby establishment playing music everyday quite loudly. The rooms are also ok but the bathrooms were very small and damp. The kitchen facilities are also not great, it’s very small and doesn’t feel the most clean but it’s good to have the option to cook.
- Ruth (7/5): Overall a nice stay... - Location was great. Good to have a kitchen to use (though could do with some more items like a seive). My partner also appreciated the pull up bar and weights. Friendly staff and lots of events on in the day and evenings (though we didn't attend but heard good feedback from other guests). A few issues with our room - there was quite a strong smell of damp/mould in our room unfortunately. There was also a big gap at the top of our door covered only by mosquito netting which meant we were woken up by anyone else coming home to other rooms nearby in the middle of the night. Similarly, when the girls next door decided to smoke right outside our door, our room smelt like smoke. Also walls and ceiling very thin and wooden so felt like the couple above us were in the room with us... Was nice to have breakfast included but it started quite late so when we went out early for the first jeep to Cocora, we had to buy breakfast to take with us.

Everyone working here is super nice and friendly! 🤩 They have a WA group where they will post all the events going on - and they really have a lot. :) we had chocolate con Queso evening and game night 🤗 really cool! Breakfast is basic but also really good. You get a lot of fruit, tee and coffee 🫶🏼 They really try to keep the place clean thats also a plus 🤩 Can definitely recommend! So close to the main square and across from shakshuka!! Best restaurant in town!! 🤗

Aucune réponse n'a jamais été apportée à ma demande de modification de réservation faite par l'intermédiaire de Booking. J'ai donc été conduit à accepter de payer une nuit supplémentaire pour rien. Chambre exiguë, humide, sans ouverture. Fermeture de la porte de la chambre avec un petit cadenas, cela n'est pas sécurisant. A mon sens cet établissement tient plus d'un campement que d'un hostal. Il n'a rien à faire sur Booking.

You had to pay to use the jacuzzi which it doesn't say in the booking. We used it for free on a "free jacuzzi" night but they made people go in separately for a limited time which I found odd and it wasn't very hot. Only two bathrooms so sometimes I had to wait.

- Maria (10/5): Sin lugar a dudas, el mejor hostal de Salento! - Todo! Las instalaciones comunes son perfectas para compartir con otros viajeros y disfrutar de buena compañía, además, el Hostal organiza actividades diarias en sus instalaciones. Nosotros pudimos disfrutar con ellos de un buen chocolate con queso y de una clase de cocina de arepas. Fue genial! Si toda nuestra estancia fue perfecta, lo mejor fue el trato del personal. Nos hicieron sentir mejor que en casa, recordaremos con mucho cariño a los dueños Gladys y Carlos con quienes compartimos un sinfín de conversaciones. Estamos seguros que volveremos a Colombia y más seguros aún de que volveremos al hostal Estrella de Agua! .

- Daniele (10/5): - This is a very nice hostel near Salento main square. Has a lot of green and trees in the big patio on the ground floor, a sort of jungle style layout. The employees were all polite and smiley. The bed was comfy. In the common areas it's easy to socialize with other travelers.

- Romain (8/5): Très bien dans l’ensemble - Problème de réservation, mais après négociation avec le personnel de l’accueil, nous avons trouvé un compromis sachant que nous avons fini par avoir et des petites mais correspondent à ce que nous nous avions demandé malgré la première nuit passée dans un lit simple à deux. Le reste du séjour était à la hauteur de nos attentes.
- Rene (2/5): Not worth it - The only good thing I can say about this place is that it was close to the main park. Upon arrival, we received a different room than what we booked through Booking.com. The staff was unhelpful and did not offer any discounts or assistance. We had booked a room with a private washroom and asked the receptionist about the noise level. He assured us it was quiet, but the room was right next to a busy street, making it impossible to sleep. The window was just a small slit that opening it put us within inches at shoulder level with pedestrians. The pictures on booking.com showed an actually window. We were also surprised to find extra charges for basic amenities like towels and hot water for the jacuzzi. This was not communicated to us prior to our stay.I recommend future guests inspect their rooms before paying. There are better accommodations in Salento for less money

Owner said vehicle info will be sent.Two days before my arrival, I sent a message asking to confirm again and the detail of the vehicle. No response . Kept messaging and emailing but was totally ignored.anxiety was building up as this was my first time to this place. Anyway, I managed to get my own transport to the hostel.Thanks to uber. Then the agony continues.i was given a room that didn't have a window. I know this was a hostel but my room had this moist musty bathroom smell in the whole room. It was like sleeping in public bathroom or locker room.i just couldn't get comfortable and rest.Had to check out on the second day of a suppose to be 4 day stay. i was getting sinus congestion every morning from the smell. Also, maybe they could invest a little bit on towels and pillows. Towels and pillows were just too old and worn out.

- Louise (5/5): Not worth £58 a night, go for a cheaper and better alternative - Location was great, a 5 minute walk to the main square of Salento. Lovely large communal garden with plenty of seating options. Friendly host Jefferson who checked us in and explained everything in good English. Not worth £58! The room was small. Our previous hostel was only £24 a night and still in the centre. Not closed off from the outside, eg, open space above the door which was only partially mosquito netted, same in the bathroom an open space at the top of the wall with no net. The door also had a large gap at the bottom, on our first night the smell of gasoline coming in from the street was almost unbearable. No towels in room had to ask. We handed laundry in to be done but the service wasn’t available, as we were out all day we didn’t know and no one informed us on our return so we didn’t have time to search for alternatives. Stain which looked like blood on partners pillow case, informed reception who said they would bring another, 1.5 hours later we had to chase them for the case.
- Patrick (1/5): Horrible place to stay - Location I stayed in the Deluxe Room. The room was very small and bathroom microscopic, the water in the shower wasn’t cold, that’s all I can say about water. There was no proper doors either to the bathroom or to the room, the room was locked with the padlock, this gave no noise reduction whatsoever from the hallway. The mattress was horrible, it was a sponge which was deforming under any pressure given, impossible to sleep without a broken back in the morning. The last and the most important thing is, my Deluxe Room, had no window! There were no towels, when I asked they provided some small thin sand paper quality towels. Walls and ceilings are made from paper and you feel like you literally sleep outside with other people. I wouldn’t stay again in this place. Neither cheap or comfortable. Very disappointing.
- Stefan (4/5): Wouldn’t Return. - Great location. Close to everything. Moldy smell in room and bathroom with mushrooms growing on the wooden sink in the bathroom. Felt unhealthy. Wifi didn’t work. Just overall uncomfortable feeling - starting with a weird vibe with a staff member at check-in and again strange check-out where the staff had to evaluate our room like a homework assignment.

- Ričardas (8/5): Very good - Nice garden with jacuzzi. Lovely cats and dog. Our room had window on street side so it was very noisy, because that weekend there was a big fiesta in town, but its not hotels fault.

- Daniel202011 (1/5): Bad - We reserved the Deluxe room for a higher price, when we arrived the man in the reception first took our money (the payment for the Deluxe room) and after we saw the room and realized it's a regular room we requested to move to the room we reserved. The guy in the reception said it's occupied. So we demended to get the difference back and the guy refused and referred us to a mobile number of the manager that isn't answering until now. We are very dissatisfied and disappointed.
- Maximilian (6/5): Loud but nice property - Very chill vibes in a great location It was very loud. Music playing until late. My room was located under the reception and I could hear every step through the thin floors until after midnight. Their dogs were barking until late and I didn’t sleep much.

Manager who we contacted was rude and had no sence insisted the puppy only cried for a while and didnt let - The property is in Salento, good location due it’s a very small town. So any hotel would be in a good location We booked 2 nights but only stayed one. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax this is NOT the place. There was construction noise all over from neighbours. The hotel had a puppy that started crying around 4am disturbing our sleep until they let him out of the room, later in the day he started crying again. We contacted the hotel manager to explain our concerns and to ask if we could cancel night number 2 wich she denied and we had to pay the other night. She insisted that we had changed our plans and that’s why we wanted to leave the place (which was not true).

- Oliver (1/5): Jacuzzi NOT included in the price - the room we had was OK BE WARNED: you have to pay 80.000$ per person EXTRA to use the jacuzzi (for ONLY 2 hours). This is around $20USD and almost as much as we paid for the room. We literally booked this hostel BECAUSE of the jacuzzi... I recommend you book a hostel with pool/jacuzzi access included in the price, as it should 🙏🏼

- Natalie (4/5): Not worth the money and biking attached is dangerous so look elsewhere! - Over the road from a nice coffee house for the morning and a nail place to fix my nails. Staff were nice. I was really disappointed with this booking. The hostel was recommended to me and I wish I'd gone elsewhere. The photos show a hot tub (you have to pay and no one uses it) the area looks social to meet people and no body is about. I bought a bunk in a mixed dorm...it wasn't it was a bunk in a very small room. When a guy came in at 11.00pm and got on the top bunk the whole room shook. I couldn't sleep on the bed for the moving. I ended up leaving my booking early and paying double for somewhere else. Is also intense with JUST you and another guy. I mean I'm fine sharing with guys but in a larger dorm it is better. A small plastic concertina door separates the bathroom, leaving NO privacy between the two of you!!!! There is no space to store your stuff so bands on the floor and ALL floor space is gone. They don't give you a key for your room as it's a pad lock and they only have one key. So your stuff is exposed at all times and so are you sleeping! It goes against all your instincts. They have a sign saying they accept no responsibility for lost items but only offer REALLY old metal school lockers which are not big enough to store much at all, only typical valuable items, but all my stuff has value! There are many cheaper and better places in the town! Also the down hill biking attached is sold to you but the equipment is HORRENDOUS!! Especially for such dangerous and treacherous terrain Please look at other companies.

Lo que no me pareció es que en la publicación de la habitación aparecía habitación con baño incluido. y no fue así, nos toco baño compartido. De igual forma dejo una buena puntuación, pero deberían corregir la publicación

- Verified traveler (4/5): Loud music until 3 am in the morning. - Night clubs are right next to this hotel. You won't be able to rest or sleep here. The clubs put loud reggaeton music until 3 am in the morning and you will feel that right next to you. The staff is not clear about this and they mislead you into believing the contrary. They have overpriced tours for downhill biking be careful with that. Bathroom and room are ok but not great.
