• Jarret (8/5): Receptionist was rude. - I had a private room, showers and bathroom were clean, breakfast was good. Nice wifi. The receptionist was very rude. I checked in at 1:41 pm and she kept telling me that if I wanted to check in early then I should have booked the night before. I was 19 minutes early and all the rooms on the 2nd floor were already cleaned and empty. I wouldn't stay here again just because of the receptionist lady. 😞

• Kallie (8/5): Good stopover before Bromo / Ijen tour for couple of hours rest - Did the 2D1N Bromo & Ijen Tour with Mador Hostel, so stayed here for a few hours before we were picked up at 23:30PM. Good facilities to shower and catch a couple of hours sleep before some long days of travel and adventures. Staff made some good recommendations for dinner. It is very much a standard hostel setup. The blinds on our internal window did not close property so wasn’t entirely private.
• ABHISHEK PAL (9/5): - It's a great value for money. Everything like a nice bed, good AC and a clean toilet make this stay special. The staffs are friendly and always ready to help you. They also organize group tours which are also great. Recommended if you are on a budget and want a peaceful stay in Malang.

Had the most wonderful time. The three level bunk bed was an interesting experience but not a bad thing to be honest it was fine. There was no hot water on our floor but it was easily accessible on another floor. So no bad things really :)
• Ellis (8/5): Great value for money, would recommend here & book the tour with them! - We only stayed 1 night before the 3 day tour but would recommend for ease & comfort. The bed was comfortable, room was a decent size, multiple showers & toilets that were well maintained, friendly staff, free drinking water available. Definitely recommend the tour with these too they were amazing! A little bit further out from main restaurants but still only around 20-30 minute walk
• Clara (8/5): Great to facilitate the East Java tour - Good social areas both inside and out, colourful walls which gives a nice appearance. The staff are helpful and did our washing and drying in just 3 hours. We did the East Java 3D2N tour through them which was excellent and would highly recommend No lift which can be difficult with heavy luggage but staff are happy to help
• woolaganathan (8/5): - Comfy bed, showers and toilet were good, excursion was good value for money ( mount bromo) and organised by the hostel. Extremely friendly staff and really helpful with the many questions I asked. Conveniently located to many sites including a Buddhist temple rainbow city. Required various connecting to different WiFi which was a pain until it was figured out. Due to various excursion occurring, you can be disturbed at various times during your stay. That been said, they did notify me by email.

• YUN (2/5): I am only stating what I felt and what I saw. There may be some misunderstandings, but after thinking about it for a lon - I booked this hostel mainly because I saw online that they provide information and private car arrangements for volcano and waterfall tours, which sounded perfect for a solo female traveler. Since I was traveling from Yogyakarta, I would arrive in Malang after 10 PM, so I emailed in advance to confirm late check-in. I only made the reservation after receiving confirmation. Unfortunately, my experience upon arrival was very disappointing. The staff on duty that night was extremely impatient. My simple questions were met with disdain and eye-rolling. When I asked if I should come back the next day because it was late, he did not respond clearly but only made strange, unkind noises. In addition, there was a Chinese sign on the shower door saying “Please take off your shoes before entering the bathroom”, but it was posted upside down. I understand and respect local rules, but it would be much better if important customs or house rules were informed in advance either during booking or check-in. I always try to be polite and have no intention of disrespecting anyone. It is normal for travelers not to know every local custom. I kindly ask the staff not to treat guests with rudeness or discrimination. We came here with a positive attitude to enjoy the beautiful scenery and friendly culture of your city.
• Leni (7/5): - Bisa titip koper dan pakai kamar mandi sebelum check in dan sesudah check out. Kamar mandi sharing tapi bersih, terutama di lt 2 ada kamar mandi & toilet khusus wanita. Tidak bisa early check in (harus jam 14.00). Agak berisik waktu malam, karena kamar tidak kedap dan ada yang iseng ketok pintu malam2. Servis kurang ramah untuk tamu domestik Kebetulan hanya kita berdua turis lokal, yang lain turis asing semua. Untung cuma book 1 malam.

The breakfast at the hotel the morning of was great and the organisation and communication was really good throughout.

Goede wifi en airconditioning. - Vriendelijk personeel en heel goed bereikbaar via whatsapp. - Prima locatie in Malang. - Echt een aanrader om de 3 daagse tour vanuit Mador te boeken naar Tumpak Sewu / Bromo / Ijen. Heel goed georganiseerd en een fantastische ervaring!

• Julie (2/5): - Our stay at Mador was strange, to say the least. We initially reserved a room for 3 nights, but only ended up staying for 1 night due to our experience. We're 3 friends, 2 foreigners and 1 local, travelling together. Upon checking in, our local friend was asked to provide their ID and to sign a hostel rules form, but not us two. The manager later explained that 1) they weren't aware that our local friend was travelling with us (even if we specified that we were), and 2) this procedure is due to the fact that locals tend to not be accustomed to hostel culture and etiquette compared to foreign guests, hence more likely to "create a mess". This disproportionate, perhaps discriminative, treatment made us feel uncomfortable. We understand that disorderly conduct within a shared space like a hostel can be problematic. So, our feedback for the hostel management is : to provide the hostel rules forms, in both English and Indonesian, and ask that ALL guests sign them for the comfort and convenience of all parties. Aside from this, we found that the facilities could be improved. There were ants and dustballs on the ceiling of our room. The shower also didn't function properly : the water pressure was very weak, and the water temperature was either very cold or scalding hot. We hope that the hostel management will take our feedback into account and improve their services.

• Wilfred (9/5): Cool room do the bromo ijen tour through them! - Good value for money. We did the bromo ijen tour through them which was absolutely fantastic very good value for money, good vibes and cool accomodation. The room itself was good, clean. The lounge area outside was nice and breakfast through them was good also! The blinds needs improving as you could see through the indoor window into our room.

• Maialen aginagalde (8/5): Fun stay in Malang! - The staff is quite friendly and welcoming, and they get everything ready for the 3D2N tour around East Java. I recommend staying here, particularly if you are doing the tour with them, because it is quite convenient. The price is very economical, both for the shared room and the tour itself and offers everything that you need, without any luxuries. Expect to find a lot of young travellers and have a lot of fun!

• Carlos (9/5): Muy buena ubicación, buen servicio y buen equipo de trabajo, todo bien organizado - El alojamiento se encontraba en muy buena ubicación, se encuentra entre las dos estaciones de tren y cerca de las casas pintadas de colores. Todo se encontraba muy limpio, siempre había gente limpiando todo y la habitación estaba en perfecto estado. Organizan todo tipo de tours a muy buen precio. Lo único que no me gustó, es que había mucha gente haciendo ruido, y hay un cartel que pone que no hay que hacer ruido desde si no me equivoco las 8 de la tarde. Si vas a hacer el tour del bromo, hay que descansar antes de ir, y la gente no respeta ese descanso

• Jule (9/5): - Nettes Hostel mit schönem Innenhof. Kein Straßenlärm, Zimmer an sich aber etwas hellhörig. Das Gemeinschaftsbad ist sauber und gepflegt. Personal war nett, es ist auch möglich Touren direkt dort zu buchen. Haben eine gute Empfehlung zum Bakso essen bekommen. Für eine oder zwei Nächte gerne wieder.

• Eddie Zijun Huang (10/5): Organized Tour and sweet staff with care - Literally one of the best hostels I stayed so far during my trip! First of all, you can arrange your trip to Bromo (Both 1 day sunrise tour and 3d2n tour with Ijen) and Sewu Waterfall with the hostel, everything is highly convenient and you can see many people are literally doing so via the MADOR Hostel. Also the Hostel will send you the itineray and things you need to pay attention accordingly, the I would say this is the best highlight of this hostel! My friend was terribly sick due to the AC when we were flying and she got worse. The front office ladies were so kind, recommending us the clinic, the medicine and food, even giving massage therapy advise on everthing. I feel like we were so highly cared and valued here not only as a guest but as a friend, or part of the family. After the first night I was on a trip to Sewu, and on our way back there was sth happened so we had to swap the room. It was a bit stressful when we received the message from the hostel but all good, and we were all transferred to a room upstairs with even better AC and space! They also give you many advices on food, whether western, local or the other option. WOULD Def stay with them if I get a chance to Malang again! The hostel is close up to Malang Colorful village but still it is a bit far away from the downtown. The bed I had on my first night was a bit too humid as it was on the ground floor and it was the bottom bed.

• Carmen (8/5): Great place to stop before the Bromo Tour - Staff was super helpful in helping us book the Bromo tour - offered great price as well and everything went great - totally recommend. We booked the room just to have someplace to rest before the tour and it was great: comfy bed and clean room. Bathroom was quite clean as well, though we did not use the showers. For the price, great option. Can be a bit noisy if you have bad luck and the people in the bunks are making some noise, as they are right next to the rooms. There isn't a window in the room. The location is good if you are just coming and going for the tours, but maybe would pick another area if you are planning to stay some days in Malang.

• Hariharan (8/5): Room maintenance - I like their three day tour package. I really enjoyed that three whole trip starts from Tumpak sevu waterfalls , Bromo and ijen to Drop in Bali. It is amazing. They need maintain their AC.

Die angebotene East Java-Tour (3T/2N) war unglaublich, sehr gut organisiert und inkl. sehr guter Unterkünfte sowie Guides Die Mahlzeiten auf der Tour waren sehr klein (es wurde vorab zwar erwähnt, aber das war trotzdem etwas zu wenig)
