Guest Reviews
- Kay (10/5): - Excellent stay. Due the time of year, the food options were a little limited but expected. Quiet, relaxing environment. Our condo was recently remodeled, and the owners did an amazing job. Top shelf all the way. Mitch was more than accommodating, responded to questions and concerns quickly, even with our late arrival. Would definitely stay again and recommend to my friends and family.
- Patrick (10/5): - For a skier, convenient lockers on premises just a minute walk to lift. The room temperature control is a bit funky, but I just opened an outside door to cool it down. Staff are very down-to-earth nice. Hope to come back next year!
- James (10/5): Excellent Experience - Great location, directly adjacent to Lift 1. Excellent skier’s location. Front desk staff, maintenance crew and after-hours valet were very friendly and helpful. The apartments vary in size and some amenities, as they are privately owned though managed by Snakedance. We had some issues with the heating system at first but the maintenance team and front desk responded immediately and we had a great stay there.
- Eric (10/5): - Great location. True ski-in ski-out condo.
Room are nice, staff is helpful. The restaurant is OK, not great.
The bed was not that comfortable, but it was fine.
The heater is radiant heating in the floor. As the signs tell you, it takes time for the temperature to change in the room. Don't believe the reviews that say the heater is broken, it works as advertised.
- Roderick (10/5): - Very nice!
- Catia (10/5): - Las persianas no funcionaban bien y el fregadero estaba tapado pero lo demás excelente !! Me encanto la hubicacion ! Bendiciones !!!
- Minjoo (10/5): - good
- Wai Keen (10/5): - This is 10/10 location for ski in ski out! Friendly helpful staff, cozy apartment with everything you need including cookwares! Perfect for my family with young kids! Loved our stay. Highly recommended!
- Sara (6/5): - The location is great. The bed was uncomfortable. The room was really hot. Not able to control temperature at all. The spa area of the building was closed until further notice.
- Tom (6/5): - Heater wouldn’t turn off and made it hard to sleep because so hot.
Neighbors were so loud and disruptive it took away from experience
- Nancy (10/5): Great ski-in/ski-out location - Great ski-in/ski-out location. Steps to the lift. Really good bar/restaurant in the building along with a convenience shop. Our condo had a brand-new kitchen and bath and comfortable bed. Parking is in a lot about a block or so away but that is typical for Taos.
- MARK (10/5): - Great location!
- Mike (10/5): - Great location and amenities!
- Gerald (8/5): - The hot tub and sauna did not work. Blamed it on COVID.
- Hua (10/5): - It’s literally 2 minutes from the chair lift, center of all activities
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Convenient location steps from lifts and restaurants. Staff helpful
- David (10/5): - Proximity to the base lift cant be beat. From your ski locker its just steps to the snow. Full Kitchen made lunches & hydration easy and the small on site store & bar/ restauran were both super convenient.
- vicente (6/5): Great location, Beds suck - The woman at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. The beds were terrible either too soft or very used, uncomfortable. The best thing about this property is the location.
- Matthew (10/5): - Nicer than expected and amazing location.
- Madeline (8/5): - This place its like taken out of a book or a movie. Those stories about Europe and Christmas we grew up with. The neighborhood is amazingly beautiful.
- Joaquin (6/5): - Room was nice and was well worth what I paid for it. the only issue is that the rooms are warmed with water flowing in pipes in the ground. So I'm sure in the winter time its nice and warm, however in the spring or summer these room will not cool down at all. With the fan and all the windows open, it was still to hot in the room. Also the sauna was not open.
- Julie H. (10/5): Very convenient to the gondola. - Everything was nice but there is no adjusting the heat because it is on a boil system. Had to open the balcony door the heat was so bad.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Taos Condo - Zero communication with property manager
Nice place and great location
Would rent again
- Thelma (10/5): I'd stay again - Location is fabulous! It was clean & neat. Restaurant & ski lockers in hotel was great!!
- Angelique (10/5): Fantastic Stay - The guy at the desk -MITCH-was amazing, we had a late arrival and he was still there to help us check in. He even offered to open the store to get milk for my son. :)
- Margaret (10/5): - The staff was lovely and very busy trying to accommodate all the arrivals on a holiday weekend. They needed help during the rush at check-in. We loved the facility and the promise of snow. We're interested in returning. Thanks for a nice evening.
- Allen (10/5): Great place - Beautiful. Clean and spacious. We will return.
- Nick (10/5): - Directions for the tv remote for non tech folks. Plan on staying again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great place, great people. Horrible beds. I would stay here again.
- Alondra C. (10/5): The place is much better in person than the pictures, great stay! - Great location in the Taos Ski Valley, the property looks much better in person than the pictures. Cozy stay and easy, contactless process for check-in and out. We would love to stay again at Snakedance!
- Jeanne (10/5): Mountain escape - We spent the night and part of the day on either side of our night. The ski area reminded me of Vail in its early years. Was a please t retreat.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - parking was not suitable for motorcycles, but we made it work.
- Mark (10/5): - Wish we could have stayed another night. Only issue was that the hot tub was out of commission.
- Sandy (10/5): Beautiful mountain condo. - We wanted a nice night stay before a big hike on the mountain. The condo unit was beautiful, beds were comfortable, and we had a wonderful night sleep. Ammenities were great. The hike went well!!!
- Joshua (10/5): - Excellent location, communication, and stay! Highly recommend
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was homey, comfortable, and lovely.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful Spot and good reception
- Monty (4/5): Hot at Snakedance - The room was nice. But was 78 degrees inside during the stay. Outside temperature was ~60 so we opened up the windows but still could not get the rooms to cool down. We were lucky that we were in the room very little. Something definitely wrong with temp controls.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everyone should see Taos Valley. Being groceries or you’re stuck with a food hassle.
- Charles (6/5): Not so great - This condo was not very clean and really outdated. Beds were uncomfortable and we had back aches in the morning. I am not sure if the sheets had been changed because i found hairs on the bed linens. No air-conditioning but we opened windows and it was doable. Sofa hide-a-bed was not clean at all. There was no parking by the condos and that was very inconvenient. The lady i talked with was helpful but overall we give it a big thumbs down!
- Carlos (8/5): Nice Get Away - We liked the area and the temperatures. No crowds and local entertainment made the stay very pleasant.
- Joel (6/5): - No staff on duty….you had to call to get the front desk. Parking about 1/4 mile away. No a/c….room hot. Cable RV in front room did not work.
Room was clean and convenient to ski slopes.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice and clean place with amazing views. Enjoined it very much.
- Puneet K. (10/5): Awesome! - Loved it
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The condo was a great get away for the weekend.
- Mercy (10/5): Wonderful Snakedance and Wonderful Ashley - The condo was in excellent condition and very, very clean. We arrived very late at night and Ashley came from her home to meet and welcome us. This was truly the most enjoyable stay away from home that we have ever had. The kids loved it!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is a very nice rooms clean if you stay in the summer bring food restaurants are 10 miles away they have a grocery store but closes early but great place to stay
- Ken S. (10/5): Nice and convenient - Clean with all the amenities we wanted, 100-200 feet from lift and ski shop.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We spent 5 days and we were really happy with the location, size of the apartment and customer service. We will definitely come back.
- Amanda (8/5): Great - Couldn’t get any closer to lift or ski shops! Loved the location.
- Todd F. (10/5): Nice place - Perfect location
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very convenient location for skiing, which was great. The condo itself was a great size, although the kitchen appliances weren't in great shape (e.g. the Microwave door hinge was sagging). Would stay here again .
- Claire C. (10/5): Great condo in a great location - The condo was spacious and very clean. The pictures we saw were of different units and ours was quite large with 3 bathrooms. My impression from the listing was that there was only 1 bathroom. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
- Kim D. (8/5): Everything at your fingertips - Everything we needed was right at our fingertips. We arrived late, but the staff was friendly and accommodating. Separate lockers for your ski gear. Ski in and out. Convenience store and restaurant in the building. Shops within walking distance. The only bummer is everything shut down early due to covid (rightly so) and tv system was older so there was no option to watch Netflix or any other streaming app. Overall, I’d stay again.
- Dana L. (8/5): Extended weekend getaway - Extremely close to main lift, ski school, ski rentals, every thing! I would seek out this location again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Best location in Taos ski valley. Rooms are nice and comfortable, but the location is perfect
- Dastan (10/5): Highly recommended. Almost perfect. - Good things:
- location
- spacious apartment
- ski storage lockers
- cleanliness
Things to improve:
- cooking utensils
- mattresses are uncomfortable
- Zane (8/5): dont go until Covid is over - Not the Hotels fault but Covid had most everything shut down. Had to get a key from a safe to check in only to find nothing was open. None of us ate that night and had to leave Early the next morning because everyone was hungry...
- Kimberly (8/5): On the mountain condo - Right on the mountain great location for mountain biking and hiking!
With Covid only one Restuarant was open for breakfast and lunch no dinner. There is a nice kitchen in the condo make sure to bring your own food.
- leticia (10/5): - We felt right and home and can’t wait to return!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not a good experience - Property was not the same rental that we saw on your site, was labeled in red river and was not. There was a mouse in our room called the property manager would not do anything about it till the next day, tried to get the cabin switched to red river through your site customer service was supposed to call me back never did will never use your site again.
- Luis (8/5): - I am like everything .The place is awesome and the restaurant is very nice.
- Stephanie P. (10/5): Perfect - This place was beautiful and amazingly perfect for celebrating my 38th birthday! Thank you for the hospital Snakedance!
- angelica l. (10/5): !! - Good
- Robert (10/5): Taos visit - The condo was awesome. Very roomy and clean and comfy. The view of the mountains were amazing. We saw a deer grazing near the ski lift. Very quiet. It was nice to have the kitchen fully stocked with dishes and cooking pans and utensils. Loved it and highly recommended. Thank you for the wonderful stay. Robert C 😁
- Mohit (8/5): - The property is at the 'doorsteps' to the ski lifts; opposite to the rental shop and is ideal for a family that has to be close to everything at a ski resort. The children's center is also easily accessible through a gondola which is a few steps away from the hotel. I highly recommend it especially you are visiting with family and kids. The restaurant on the second floor was also great and convenient. The hotel's front desk staff, and in particular Ron needs to undergo some serious customer service training. Ron was rude, discourteous, condescending and dismissive each time I talked to him (and yes, my luck, twice I called and once I went to the desk, and each time I got him). I get it that Ron and his colleagues talk to multiple people on a daily basis and probably have been doing this for a long time so may be they 'assume' guests should 'know' it all too! Ron, you are in the service business where guests come to your hotel once a year and they may need help and may not know what you seem to know in your head as routine information. So, be kind and help the hotel guests rather than coming across as if you are doing them a favor. If you can't change your attitude, then service business is not for you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great for skiing - Great location for skiing! Well-equipped with all the comforts of home. Close to restaurants. No need to leave the resort.
- Daniel (8/5): Hospitality great. Room it's self was very mediocr - Staff were excellent and helpful.
Room was dated. Bed uncomfortable-little better tgan a pull out couch bed; you'd think a situation like this would have better than a motel 6 bed. Room arrangement inefficient.Furniture placement, refrigerator placement, made some of the stuff difficult/annoying to use.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location was excellent. Hot tub & Sauna leave a lot to be desired, eg..all jets didn't work, too small, no light, way too much chlorine-bleached our suits. Sauna sometimes worked.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We Love the ski in and ski out convenience! Easy access to the lifts and getting on the mountain just a walk away was the best! The only reason rated ok for amenities and property condition is that unfortunately the hot tub was broken and we were all looking forward to being able to hot tub after skiing. One of the side refrigerator shelves randomly broke when closing the door and two bottles of wine were broken all over the kitchen floor. Maintenance did quickly respond and came up to replace the shelf and shop vacuumed the glass up, but was unfortunate and we were unable to have our wine with dinner.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was too hot, but once we figure out to leave the window open all the time, it was better. Thermostats are not working.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Oustanding location....20 meters from.main ski lift
Helpful staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Loved the location! You could walk to the slopes! The ski locker was great to have. The condo was a nice size for our family of 5 adults.
- Stephen (10/5): Ski w Son - Amazing location to lift. Hot tub was broken.
- Jim (8/5): Snakedance at Taos - We’ve been going to Taos and have stayed at Snakedance for 5 years. The location is amazing if you’re looking for ski-in/ski-out and want to basically retreat back to your comfy, kitchen equipped room. The one area of advice is that this lodge is looking tiered and can use updating. The hot tub has been inoperable since December 2 and accommodations should have been made by management for the quest to use the facilities at the Blake. As for the rooms, they are very comfortable and the view of the snow covered mountains were spectacular.
- jordan (4/5): No amenities, terrible time. - There was no discount or warning that the hot tub and sauna were out of order, which is not a big deal at most hotel stays for me, however this is a ski resort. It’s important to have some kind of relaxation after a day on the slopes this place was simply sub standard for what I’d expect. Better off at a comfort on or cheap hotel.
