Guest Reviews
- Jesus (10/5): Highly Recommend! - Great stay! Will definitely be back here next time we are in Philly. The rooms were very spacious and clean.
- Francine (10/5): Perfect spot for 2 and a baby! - The one bedroom apartment was perfect size for my husband, 7 month old and me. The kitchen had everything we needed for poor 3 night stay. Ken, the daytime concierge was great. He was so friendly. He helped is with his and train times and locations, good places to eat and provided the lobby with fin, new holiday tunes! We hope you meet kem. So not expect the same kindness from the night concierge. Oh and expect to pay about $50 / day to park car locally. Great walkable location. Wawa is just around the corner.
- Coy (8/5): Great place to stay - A lot of space and lives the washer and dryer in the room. Great location for things we were doing and, if you like to walk, you’re in the middle of everything and can walk to the Art Museum with Rocky’s steps and statue, the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, the Mutter Museum and much more. We even walked to little Italy! The only drawbacks were finding parking and the cleaning was subpar prior to our check in regards to the bathroom and kitchen utensils/dishes. We got a few some cleaning wipes and washing pods when we went grocery shopping first thing and was fine after. Very nice place to stay for the buck and definitely for the space with laundry if you’re staying extended period. Would recommend and probably stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location, close to Center City and Reading Terminal Market. Easy to get to Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Art Museum, Franklin Institute and other museums. City Hall and Market Street a short distance away. At Reading Terminal Market you can get breakfast and lunch, and even buy take out for dinner if you get it before 6pm--most places are open 8-6 everyday; arts and crafts vendors are also present.
- Shanay (10/5): Amazing Place - This a great place to stay. Everything was in walking distance. I can’t wait to visit again !!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice area, terrible beds - Easy check in, close to lots of sights, short cab ride to others. The beds are HORRIBLE and I'm now having to go to a chiropractor after 2 nights in the bed, I ended up on the couch on the third night! For such a great over all space I would never go back based on the beds!
- Victoria (10/5): Apartment Living in Downtown Philly - We came into town for a convention and due to a mix-up all the nearby hotels were sold out. Thankfully we were able to find this gem, a quick 10 minute walk to the convention center. We had a large group and it comfortably fit us all. The strange combo of hotel and apartment/condo building worked super well - to be honest, it will be hard to go back to staying in regular hotels after this. Loved it, would stay again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel was nice - Very accommodating...staff was friendly. Would stay again
- Erin (4/5): No instructions - I tried for 2 weeks prior to my stay to find out about check in (being that this was an apartment being rented as a hotel) and I received no call back nor did they answer the phone once I did arrive, the doorman had to handle the entire transaction giving me the keys and instruction packet. The other information that wasn't given in either the description of the hotel nor online was that I had to park my car in a parking structure at $50/day. Had I known this, I would have selected a different hotel that had parking. As far as the room went, that was exactly what they said it would be with the huge exception of all the windows facing the wall of the building next door. Even when it was a beautiful day outside, I had to go on a weather app to see how to dress for the day.
- Ken (8/5): Nice APARTMENT (not a hotel room), but... - This is actually what I would describe as an efficiency apartment, not a hotel. It was very nice. It was very clean, except for a suspicious- looking carpet stain in the bedroom. Plenty of towels. Everything necessary is provided except food. It is in the middle of the city and walking distance to virtually everything. I parked in the basement lot at 3 Logan Square, which is the tallish building behind The Arch.It is cheaper than the public lot next to The Arch. Those reviews that complained about there not being any parking nearby did not look very hard. I would definitely stay here again.
One drawback: I don't know that BridgeStreet ever sent a receipt to me. Maybe it went to my junk folder. As a business traveler this is critical to me, and I have attempted for two days to get a duplicate copy. I have not been able to reach a human being by phone at Bridgestreet and this is becoming a nuisance at this point since now I'm burning clock hours trying to track down a person who can provide this. The concierge at The Arch didn't have the ability to print one.
- Carl (10/5): Excellent location. - His is a ‘residence’ facility, not a hotel. Basically you have an apartment for your stay. It was everything that I needed and as comfortable as any hotel I’ve been in.
One suggestion I would make would be about the coffee. Having a machine is great but a supply of filters would have been more appreciated than the single pack that was provided.... the sealed in a filter thing.
Could also be a bit more flexible about check in, check out, and holding luggage with respect to each.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Nice apartment in city centre - This was a 2 bedroom apartment and it was in a great location. Needed more supplies, but just be prepared to bring your own essential things.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Convenient to museums and getting around Philly. - Spent 4 nights in The city to attend a jazz festival and found the location ideal for getting to museums and rittenhouse square during the day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - In town for a conference. It was perfect! Very spacious, friendly staff, unbelievably clean. Highly recommend
- Larry (8/5): Convenient apartment in central Philly - The convenient central location of this spacious studio makes it an excellent value. Only drawback is the city noise which is not sufficiently muffled by the windows; on the plus side there are a lot of windows with much natural light.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Enjoy Philadelphia - Just like home. People at the desk were helpful and friendly. Very relaxing stay.
- Marcia (8/5): Surprise - I was surprised at first to see that this was an apartment house rather than a conventional hotel.. I thought it was a "suite hotel" but this was an actual apartment. It was more than I needed - I didn't cook or do laundry, although I did use the refrigerator. It was, however, extremely comfortable and well situated. I would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Ideal center city location with a kitchen & fridge - The small apartment in an ideal center city location with plenty of compact space. The mattress was a type of memory foam, which is not my favorite as I prefer more firmness. Friendly note to maintenance, please take a few minutes to replace burned out lightbulbs. Note to housekeeping, please give maintenance work slips so that they know to replace the lightbulbs. I will stay here again
- Julio (6/5): Not a Hotel but Apartments - This is not a hotel, it's just an apartment with a receptionist no daily housekeeping. For me place is not luxurious at all but it does has a
good location. Room was clean with the exception of a few hairs in the bathroom. Good washing and drying machines. The worst part, Internet never worked!!! unplugged and reseted the router everyday for one week worked two times for half hour and then it disconnected.
- Stephane (4/5): Mattress quality and AC ruined my stay - This could be a great hotel but the bed and mattress (room #608) were horrible. The mattress was bouncy and noisy, and the bedframe was squeaky. It could be fine if you sleep on your own but if there's someone next to you, you will get woken up as soon as s/he moves, turns and gets in/off the bed.
The AC was also not functioning correclty. It read 77F and I set it up to 76F for the night (1 F below, the minimum temperature change possible) and it was already too cold so for the whole week end, we had 2 options: hot and humid (AC off) or just too cold (AC on).
Last annoying thing, we were handled 2 keys with a fob to open the main door and a key tag that has the name of the hotel, the address and the room number written on it. This is not safe!
Otherwise, the neighborhood is nice, the building and the amenities look great and clean, and the staff at the reception are very friendly but it's all useless if I can't get a good night of sleep.
Change the mattress, tune the AC and get your customers electronic keys and this would be a great experience.
- Mary (10/5): - Excellent location and room. Highly recommend to all.
- Jamie (10/5): Great place - It was a great location and much better vibe than a standard hotel. Clean and amenities are great. Would have been nice to have more air conditioning access
- Brian (8/5): Perfect Location - Gresat location,1 block to train, just a few blocks to everything, great restaurants, Staff are very nice and helpful
- Verified traveler (10/5): Almost home away from home - Great experience - like an apartment, with all amenities - kitchen, laundry, dining table - makes one feel like home away from home.
- Jason (2/5): No parking and no hotel management access - Wasn't given any warning about no parking. I had a rental car and the closest lot was $46/night to park and wasn't come and go parking. In other words, if I decided to move my car at all, I would have had to pay every time I came back. I called to try and cancel and find a hotel with a parking lot or come and go parking, and the hotel had no flexibility in cancelling my reservation. Also, there's no hotel management on site and their office hours to be reached by phone are only 9am-5pm (again, no warning). When I called hotels.com to try to reach management, they apparently gave me the wrong phone number. I was really unimpressed with the overall service. I ended up staying with a friend in King of Prussia and eating the cost of the "hotel", rather than pay an additional $200+ to park for the 3 nights. However, I will say if you plan on taking an Uber and not renting a car, the actual room itself was clean and modern and looked nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent Location, Great Room - I was expecting a hotel room, which this is not, so I was taken back at first. What I ended up getting was much nicer...a large and well appointed two bedroom apartment. The front desk staff were very helpful and the room was quiet. If you are open to something other than a hotel, I would certainly recommend The Arch.
- Robert (2/5): Refund - Struggle to figure out parking and even the location on the street as well as the 14th floor of an apartment building. Our money was refunded. There was a giant convention ongoing in Philadelphia. We aborted and drove on.
- John (6/5): O.k. place to stay, but not for less than a week - The "apartment" is quite small, but for a suite style hotel room it's perfectly adequate (much smaller than an Embassy Suites one bedroom). The A/C made the bedroom freezing cold no matter what temperature I set it to. One of the lamps was broken in the 'living room', and the light over the bathroom sink was burned out.. Wifi was excellent. Fantastic location, though. Why bother with this if you're staying for less than a week? No services, no bar or restaurant, because it's not a hotel.
- Adrian (6/5): Mixed bag disappointed - It was disappointing that the bath tub had soap marks where the soap had been for a previous guest. The oven was dirty and the towel for the kitchen smelt rancid. The apt we had had a brick wall view and was twilight dark even though it was sunny outside.
Other parts of the apartment OK. Location great. Concierge polite but absolutely no housekeeping. Not even for toilet rolls we were promised that someone would contact us about the issues but no call has been received. I've tried to add the photos taken but the link only allows live ones.
The room we had also get very hot because the lights were on all the time and the aircon was very loud to counteract
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great apartment, low price - Apartment located in the heart of Philadelphia, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one dining/seating room with kitchen. Great opportunity for that price, cheaper than most of the hotels around.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Loved my lavish apartment! - I LOVED the Arch at BridgeStreet! My expectations were exceeded and I'll definitely stay there again. The apartment was new, with up to date appliances and decor. I loved the high ceilings and beautiful windows. There was an in apartment washer and dryer, full kitchen and all the other important amenities. The apartment was very comfortable and clean and felt like a home away from home! Also, it was centrally located near lots of restaurants and eateries in walking distance. The only drawback was that the there was no on site parking, but there was parking right next door which was convenient, but parking in center city is really expensive. Be prepared to pay $46/day for parking. Nonetheless, overall it was still a really great value for the cost.
- Verified traveler (8/5): The arch - Nice apartment
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good hotel alternative - Maybe I missed it on the listing, but I didn't realize this wasn't a hotel. It is a luxury apartment building. So, no room service. That being said, I was very pleased with my stay. 24 hour, friendly door security. Laundry machines in the room with small detergent box. Kitchen and fridge. Great set-up for my week-long stay, and cheaper than comparable hotels around.
- Melissa (10/5): - Beautiful apartment in a central location. Loved it!
- laurence (8/5): great location in downtown Philly! - Turned out to be a great location in terms of being able to walk to all that we wanted to do and had planned...very convenient, and having two bedrooms and a kitchen were perfect!...we even did a laundry as the apartment had a washer/dryer combo!
- Robin (10/5): Outstanding - Outstanding place to stay. Felt like home instead of a hotel.
- Bec (8/5): Comfortable spacious apartment in great location - This is a stylish and comfortable apartment within walking distance to many restaurants, bars and amenities. We really liked the area - beds very plush, room very clean and well-appointed. Very good price. Needs much better signage as the entrance is not on Arch St, so we wasted more than 20 frustrating minutes trying to find it. Wi-fi switch not identified as such - it looks like a light switch, so we were inadvertantly turning off our access without realizing it.
This is an apartment experience, not a hotel experience, which is perfectly fine as long as you don't expect otherwise. Great that the desk is manned 24/7 though. There needs to be recycling bins put in the trash area on each floor - there is only one recycling bin in the basement, so that is a disincentive to recycle. Overall we were very happy and would certainly recommend it for families with kids.
- Verified traveler (10/5): good time in the city. - Quick and easy check in to a great space. Bonus for the washer dryer. Was a little put off by the sheets; wound up washing them before throwing them back onto the bed and did light clean up of the kitchen. Full kitchenware set made it super homey and easy to settle into. Super chill security at the 24 hour desk. Be clear about check out times so that you make the most of the stay; usual hard out at 11a makes it tough to enjoy. Make sure to talk to them about stashing your bags when it comes to check out time; there doesn't seem to be a lock up area for bags.
- Charde (10/5): GREAT - Close to everything in city. Enjoyed stay very much. Only thing is, finding parking Is difficult and expensive. If they provided parking this place would be perfect.
- Alan (10/5): Beats most Centre City hotels! - An ideal place to stay, excellent value for money. Friendly doorman.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, able to get around the city was very easy
- andy (8/5): great room for a work week and in-home cooking - Room itself was great, few little issues like broken outlet and one refrigerator tray, but nothing major.the in unit washer and dryer was awesome! The lack of view (or view of a wall) may be problematic for some if you aren't aware upfront. Some sound proofing of the windows could help the early morning dumpster pickup be a bit less noisy. I think it echoed between the two buildings as there isn't an alley way below.
- Indranil (10/5): Nice, Clean and well equipped - Nice, Clean and well equipped
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good location, modern, but housekeeping needs work - I was not informed that check-in was at 4:00, so I had to wait for over an hour while they cleaned my room. The room was mostly clean except for the bedding which appeared to be covered with pet hair.
- worldtraveler (8/5): luxury studio, not clean, no internet - This studio has great amenities like a kitchen, washer/dryer, and the fitness room in the building is nice. The location is fabulous. But it is advertised as having internet and it doesn't. There is an ethernet port, but you'd have to bring your own ethernet cable--if you laptop even has an ethernet port. There was wifi in a lounge, but honestly, no internet in the room makes this place falsely advertised. I called the number listed for help regarding internet and no one answered. Also, the place wasn't clean: there was hair in the shower and on the floors. Vaccum, people, that's gross.
- Daphne (10/5): Awesome - We didn't want to leave. The comforts of an apartment and not having the foot traffic of a hotel.
- Happy Traveler (10/5): Not what we were expecting... - This is an apartment building, not a traditional hotel. We were confused at first, but when we went to our "room" we were totally amazed! It was a two bedroom, two bath beautiful apartment. Immaculate, beautiful, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We will definitely stay here again - and look for other Bridgestreet properties for our next vacation.
- Eva (6/5): Too much noise at night - We arrived at few minutes before 4 o'clock and room was not ready. We had to wait. There's a convenient store around the corner which was nice. It's a little pricey though. Also, there is a CVS a couple blocks away. At night, there was a lot of noise. We could hear people yelling, work crews and constant sirens.
- Thomas (10/5): Nice apartment - No daily housekeeping, but managed just fine
- Ismaeil (10/5): Great Experience! - The staff were very welcoming. You are given an electric key for to enter the hotel's main door along with your room keys for extra security. The room was very clean with all the amenities we needed. The rooms were spacious and the living area was furnished in good taste. There were great views of the city. It was my first time in Philly and I was not disappointed by the hotel nor by the city. Overall, great experience!
