Esme (10/5): Beautiful setting, great facilities - We've stayed at Sutton Hall a few times now - it's the perfect mid-way stop for our family when travelling between Scotland and Norfolk. The grounds are really beautiful - with the woodlands, stream and gardens to enjoy (air always filled with birdsong), and we love making use of the tennis courts, pool and hot tub. The booking system for the facilities is great, and nice to get private use of the pool/ gym etc. The price always seems reasonable. The apartments in the main house/ and the external cottages are compact but very comfortable and clean, and it's nice to have a separate living/ sleeping area when away with children. TV/ WiFi all good. Staff always friendly and helpful in advance of and during our stays. We know we'll be back! Some decor a little tired/ dated, but you can forgive it for the price/ excellent facilities/ superb location.

Samantha (10/5): Beautiful setting, lovely, comfortable beds and high quality fittings. - The location and grounds are beautiful. Access is easy and the apartment perfect. The pool, spa and sauna were all a lovely temperature and clean. We were delighted with it. It was well maintained and a fab night away for a small group of family members. The apartment was equipped with an oven, microwave, air fryer, toiletries and towels. Nothing. Would advise taking a towel robe and suitable footwear to walk between apartment and pool. Also, we were prepared but there aren’t shops etc in the door step. We did order food though, it was lovely.

No onsite bar, restaurant The need to book slots for hot tub and swimming pool. Their were no slots on arrival and one slot for 8:30am the next day The hot tub had lack of water that didn’t cover the jets so we got absolutely drenched har , face trying them . So we had a 30min slot sat in a hot tub with no bubbles £140 the night with no extras
Ashley (9/5): - What a fantastic find - we have stayed locally for many years whilst competing at Yorkshire based rallies but never at Sutton Hall, excellent location and perfect for our needs as a team. Staff were lovely and very informative before our stay. My only negative would be that the accommodation was quite cold, however I completely appreciate the difficulties in trying to keep a beautiful old building like this to a pleasant temperature. We turned all the heaters up to 30° and had the fire on the whole duration of our stay and it did take the chill out of the air.
Louise (9/5): Helpful staff, perfect for the night, short stay but enjoyable. - Comfortable, good nights sleep, convenient location for Thirsk, Downstairs extractor fan went on way too long and was noisy in the bedroom above keeping me awake. The bedside lightbulb in the bedroom didn’t work. Left so early in the morning that we didn’t want to wake anyone but weren’t sure which keys you wanted to put in the box outside the reception on leaving. Form seem a bit excessive, didn’t want to sign up for marketing form and Covid protocol seems unnecessary now, surely people would not come if they had covid. I would have liked to have known what fascilities would have been available when booking so I could have brought swimming things and make the most of our stay

Peter (8/5): - Easy access from car park. Accomodation was clean and warm. TV was available with streaming services, e.g. Netflix. Bathrom space was airy and clean. No reception after 5pm on the day we arived. A video showing the way to the accomodation required accessing a video that required age verifcation, no idea why, or selfie, that meant providing a credit card details. Possibly due to poor signal this didn't work. We managed to phone a number o get the details.

Gillian (10/5): - Well equipped with everything we needed, complimentary bottle of prosecco in the fridge was a nice touch. Although we never used the facilities they looked in good order. The grounds are beautiful. The 2 bedrooms were lovely. The bed settee was uncomfortable, it was also a bit tricky to find our room, so maybe a few more signs or even a little map would be handy, also when we moved the chair in the sitting room we found some cereal and grapes they were also in the downstairs bedroom

Towels and bedding were soft and clean too. The bed was very wobbly when either of us turned over. We couldn’t get Wi-Fi. The tv signal kept dropping out. The water pressure in the bathroom was poor, I could hardly get any hot water out of the basin tap. The swimming pool was cold.

Cute little pool. I liked the fact you booked the pool and hot tub and had this as a private space. The grounds are beautiful to walk around.

It was lovely the water was cold. we didn’t have hot water to wash or wash the pots. Shower was electric so we managed. there were also lots of flies in the main bedroom - approx 25 when we got back on Thursday night - no idea where they came from in December!

Maria (9/5): Beautiful grounds and excellent facilities - would recommend! - The lady we finally got through to was very helpful. She gave clear instructions on how to get in and access the property. Directed us to the apartment and gave us lock box instructions to access our keys. We arrived a little later than expected, after a very long journey in the rain. There was no staff on the grounds and there was no answer on the calls we made to the phone number provided. We had to search around in the rain to find another mobile number to call. We finally got a response after calling a few times. By which time we were quite wet and frustrated.
SUSAN (6/5): Dangerous shower needs immediate attention before there is a serious incident. - Very comfortable bed and apartment very clean. Very quiet and nice pool apart from issues mentioned in section below. Very helpful reception staff. The electric shower in the bathroom was a serious problem. My 8 year old granddaughter was in danger of being scalded because the heating on the High setting was so hot. The flow on the medium setting was very slow. I think that this shower should be repaired or replaced immediately. It is very dangerous. Rails into the swimming pool were shaky and both showers were closed for maintenance. Wifi dodgy.

Maxine (8/5): Very good value for money at £135 for family of 4 - Lounge was very cosy with fire on and sofas very comfortable. Bed upstairs was super comfy Property was very cold on arrival and had to leave heating in all night along with fire on while we were in. Could not find any plates or bowels until morning or departure as they were in dressing table in lounge and presumed they would be in kitchen.

Kim (9/5): Really pretty location and a lovely stay, with good facilities - Cottage (Swaledale) was very neat and well-appointed with handy touches like an air fryer in kitchen, a coffee pod machine, complimentary shampoo and shower gel, and spare towels. The beds were quite comfortable and it was very sympathetically decorated, but with modern touches included. We'd definitely stay again, it was so lovely. The use of facilities was fantastic, loved having the pool to ourselves through the booking system. Beautiful setting and grounds. The outdoor hot tub could use an enclosed changing space to avoid dressing outdoors on the pavement, and perhaps a raised wooden mat so you aren't directly on the wet concrete as soon as you get out. The metal steps into the pool were wobbly and moved so for safety definitely keep those checked.
Emma (8/5): Cozy accommodation, great facilities - We stayed in one of the cottages, which was lovely, cozy and comfortable with a lovely view over the garden. The grounds are beautiful to walk around and we loved being able to book the pool, sauna and hot tub for our private use. It was a real shame that on two of the three nights we were there the hot tub wasn't working. The hot tub was the main reason we booked Sutton Hall.

Kelly (9/5): Pleasant stay, not enough towels for 5 guests, cleaning wasn’t brilliant! - Location was brilliant only 3 miles from the event we had been to and really close to the supermarkets and town. The outdoor hot tub wasn’t very hot. Cleaning wasn’t great, found beer bottle top under coffee table and crumbs on it. Kitchen cooker top/ toaster etc wasn’t very clean. Also only left towels in twin room and kitchen, there was 5 people staying.

Denise (10/5): It was very relaxing and cultural. - The secure grounds felt very safe. The gardens were amazing and the gardener was passionate about his work and told us all about the different flowers. We picked apples from the tree. The sauna & swimming pool were very private. Outstanding place to stay. We will definitely stay there again. Everything was perfect, but be prepared to take food as there is no local shops.

Nicole (7/5): Good stay in a quiet location - Size of the apartment, heating provided in all areas including bathroom, comfortable beds, quiet, easy to park. Good detailed information pack in the apartment. Located a bit in the middle of nowhere. As no catering provided at Sutton Hall definitely need to drive to get eg dinner and breakfast so a car is a must. Just the one bathroom which is fine but was located on top floor next to a bedroom, not great for eg older people.

Shenna (10/5): This was our second stay at Sutton Hall Resort and we can’t wait to come back! It’s simply stunning and so comfortable, - The grounds are just spectacular! We watched deer from the hot tub! What a peaceful retreat. It’s so relaxing… There’s nothing to not like!

Eileen (5/5): Clean and tidy, however, dated decoration. - Clean and tidy accommodation, beds comfy. Grounds were lovely, but again, due to early checkout, there was no time to explore more. Complimentary tea and coffee were greatly appreciated. Didn't get time to use any of the main facilities, as at a wedding during the day and just used the accommodation for sleeping and the very early checkout at 10am hindered us using any of these the next day.

We had a member of staff that stayed over her time on shift to welcome us. The communication is above and beyond from the start of booking the apartment right through, I got emails, texts and a personal phone call when we were on our journey for the visit. I have been meaning to book Sutton Hall for years and finally did this weekend and could kick myself I didn’t do it sooner. We booked a night and I wished I’d booked the week. It’s so beautiful and the staff are incredible, can’t wait to book up again at Sutton Hall Thank you to all staff Seymour Girls Xxx Could not fault 10 out of 10
muriel (10/5): Super moment de détente après une journée de route, nous reviendrons !! - Nous avons apprécié l’emplacement , le cadre et les équipements (piscine jacuzzi) et le système de réservation. Nous n’avons pas trouvé les draps pour le canapé lit mais pas de quoi baisser notre appréciation pour le site. Un des lit était très grand nous avons adapté la répartition de la famille pour la nuit.

The garden and the pool are amazing. We were coming on from a spa day so we didn't use the sauna or hot tub but we're already planning a return visit to make full use of the facilities. The front door to the building didn't fully close, it was stuck against the floor

Glenyss (3/5): Disappointing - Location The accommodation requires some updating, it smelt musty and was extremely hot. The kitchen could only fit one person in it. To access the property it required you to go through multiple fire doors with your heavy case. There was only one fan and tte windows could only open about 10-15cm. I have RCI and noticed that the property had received Gold Awards. I am sure the accommodation with the RCI accommodation did not reflect the same decor.

The cottage was well-equipped and the balcony leading to a grassed area was an added bonus. Staff were very helpful and we were provided with all the information we needed in the cottage. The downstairs could have been a little cleaner and blackout curtains would’ve made our stay more comfortable.

Nicola (8/5): Nice for one night stopover. - Beautiful building the apartment we stayed in was on the ground floor overlooking the beautiful garden. The pool was lovely Didn’t like having to share a hot tub with loads of people. Had to book it out and then people would come and say it was their turn and we had to get out. Sauna was ok, it would be better if the apartments had their own hot tubs on the ground floor overlooking the gardens. I would pay extra to have our own hot tub. ( you could charge extra for a private hot tub if you wanted with the option to use the shared hot tub if you didn’t want to pay extra)Kitchen was very small.
Trina (10/5): Family 1 night stay. - Just loved the whole experience. Wished we were able to spend more time there. Got there around 7pm after a day of sightseeing and traveling. We didn't meet any staff, so at that point it was self checkin, which went fairly smoothly. Enjoyed evening swimming at the pool. And lovely walk around the gardens the next morning. Extended our time there to enjoy the facility. Much more than expected. Family wants to come back to spend more quality time. All just perfect.

Summer (9/5): Great value - Great location halfway between London and Edinburgh very pretty property and huge apartments. Plenty of space two bathrooms two bedrooms plus the sofa bed in the York apartment and even a little kitchen, which we did not use but looked to be well stocked plenty of towels, swimming pool looked lovely, but didn’t have time to use it Beds could’ve been a little less firm some challenges with figuring out how to turn on lamps Sofa bed could’ve had a little more padding, but not terrible
