- Yaroslava (8/5): - The hotel has a large, beautifully maintained territory - very green, clean, and pleasant to walk around. It really creates a relaxing atmosphere, and spending time on the property is enjoyable in itself. The breakfasts were excellent, with a wide variety of dishes: fish, meat, fruits, pasta, and many other options. The selection clearly exceeded expectations, and you could easily find something for every taste. It felt more like a full meal than a standard breakfast. There were also some nice touches, such as complimentary coffee, tea, and small snacks offered during the day, which added to the overall experience. The on-site restaurant is quite expensive and does not really match the quality of the food, which felt overpriced. In the evenings, the hotel felt very quiet, and it seemed that most guests preferred to go elsewhere for dinner. Although the hotel is located directly on the beach, the beach itself was not particularly appealing - the water was not very clear, and the color was not as nice as expected, so very few people were actually swimming there. It seemed that most guests would have breakfast and then leave for better beaches during the day. Housekeeping was present but not very thorough - there was noticeable dust in the rooms. The rooms themselves could also benefit from some light renovation, although this did not significantly affect the overall stay. Overall, I was satisfied with the hotel, even though the price, in my opinion, was not particularly low for what was offered.

The room was spacious and comfortable, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was very nice with good vegetarian and vegan options available. We also loved the beautiful swimming pools and the private beach. It was a relaxing and enjoyable experience overall.
- Kasuni (10/5): SOL by Meliá Phu Quoc is amazing - The hotel is quite large and offers many activities to enjoy. Evening tea is available, along with cooking sessions that guests can join. The beach is easily accessible from the hotel and offers a beautiful view, especially in the evening. The pool is spacious, and there is also a pool bar available. There are several restaurants on-site, making it easy to enjoy a variety of food options. The morning buffet was excellent, with so many choices that it was difficult to try everything. The stay is definitely worth it. The staff were very friendly, and the receptionist, Thanh Hue, was especially kind and helpful in arranging an early check-in even without being asked. Overall, this was the best hotel I stayed at in Phu Quoc.
- Vicki (8/5): Quality resort on a beach with everything you need close by - Its location is on a quiet beach away from the busy town of Duong Dong but only a 10-15 minute inexpensive Grab ride away. The pool was large with plenty of sun beds which could do with cushions. Breakfast was very good catering to all tastes. Our pool access room was big, the terrace shaded & was a quiet place for afternoon drinks & a dip in the pool. Staff were friendly and engaging across departments. Afternoon Tea at Ginger was lovely. Limitation of 2 towels per person for the sun beds which needed cushioning from the steel bars you have no choice but to sit on. Suggest padded cushions for sun beds. In room drinking water vessel needs regular checking as I was sick from drinking it. Resort were very quick to ensure they only delivered bottled water only upon request.

The room, pool, and facilities were great, breakfast and restaurant were all great. We loved our very friendly interactions with staff and great service especially Mr Trent (exec chef), Theresa (restaurant manager), Karyl Montano and Ladylyn (Lobby area), and Bich Det (Kitchen / breakfast area) and all staff. Look forward to staying at Sol again. No improvement needed.

We were told that our arrival time was not suitable, even though we had informed you in advance. Secondly, since our flight was very early in the morning, we couldn’t make it to breakfast. For a luxury hotel, the breakfast box provided was extremely small and quite disappointing. Lastly, there is no evening entertainment available.

Практически все номера расположены так, что у всех открывается вид на море. Понравилась территория отеля, очень уютная и зеленая. Разочаровало море в данном отеле. Мутное, грязноватое. Съездили на другие пляжи Bãi Dài и Khem. Разница колоссальная по чистоте моря. Пляж на территории отеля чистый, но стоит сделать шаг в сторону из территории, то кругом один пластик и куча мусора. Это очень портит впечатление

- EmTheTravelPrincess (10/5): I LOVE this resort !! - This location is perfectly between truly rual Phu Quec and the beautiful touristy Sunset Town. The staff here is so kind and helpful, and when they smile and greet you in passing, the smile reaches their eyes. The meals here were absolutely fantastic! The chef (i think his name is trent? He's Australian) walks around during breakfast and introduces himself and chats with guests. Lady, my favorite waiter, was so personable and attentive. She always asked me about my day and what exploring I did around the island <3 My room had a beautiful Ocean View and my only complaint is that the AC doesn't run at full capacity and there are frequent power outages. However, due to the humidity and general weather im not surprised the AC couldn't keep up. I ended up buying a rechargeable fan and keeping it on my nightstand. The pool, beach, and common areas are SPOTLESS and very enjoyable. There are two main bars by the pool that are well stocked and staffed. Even though vietnamese culture does not require tips, I highly recommend leaving 10k dong when getting drinks at the bar and maybe 20k dong when dining. This encourages the staff to remember you and leads to excellent service and a personalized vacation. Overall, this resort is an absolute gem for someone who doesn't want to be in the middle of nowhere in a hostel, and doesn't want to be in the hustle and bustle of a town. Full of amenities, good food, and pleasant people, I'd return in a heartbeat.

- Mieka (8/5): Spacious rooms and close to the airport - Spacious rooms, large pool with swim up bar, great buffet breakfast, close to the airport. The resort is in a more isolated location, so isn’t ideal if you want to be among the nightlife and restaurants on the island. Some of the resort facilities need upgrading, including lots of loose and cracked tiles in the pool. The main issue with the swim out rooms is that the pool is only around 60cm deep, so is not suitable for adults to swim in, only for children.

Rules at pool area. You can't reserve 6 cabanas when only 1 person all day. So wrong. Some days we had 9 of us in 1.

I asked for one king bed and 1 single bed for 3 adults, but they gave me twin bed instead. Called and complained multiple times to fix room with all facilities for 3 adults, still no proper service provided. Room had pool access however no light to the pool and it was too dark. Pool bar closes by 6pm, where pool itself closes by 8pm, which doesn't make any sense. Food and drinks were not so great, honestly this resort could do lot better. I just wasted my time and money being there. Too expensive and not so worth the money

Shuttle bus to airport should be flexible time by checking all guests ready, check out at 12.00 but need to wait at lobby til 13.30 pm to move out there are 4 guests waiting & sitting and shttle bus also parked there, seem waist time and not good management. Booked for late check out with condition in booking.com but hotel staffs said have next guest coming. so can't get this offer. What's the offered condition?
- 853thaig (2/5): ⭐ Very Disappointing – Not a 5-Star Experience (More Like 3-Star at Best) - ⭐ Very Disappointing – Not a 5-Star Experience (More Like 3-Star at Best) I travel frequently across Southeast Asia, and honestly, this was one of my worst hotel experiences in the past 10–15 years. The biggest issue is the positioning. This hotel is marketed as a 5-star property, but in reality, it feels like a 3-star hotel at best. If it were honestly presented as such, I would say it’s acceptable. But for a 5-star expectation — it’s not even close. ⸻ ❌ Check-in Confusion & Poor Handling At check-in, I was given a document clearly stating a king bed, but then the receptionist suddenly insisted that I had booked a twin room. His explanation was that if you don’t specifically request a king bed, they automatically assign twins — which makes little sense. Their “solution” was to push two beds together. ⸻ ❌ Very Uncomfortable Bed This turned out to be a major problem. They added some kind of soft topper on top of the mattresses, which made the bed: • Too soft • Uneven • Very uncomfortable for sleeping In a proper 5-star hotel, you expect a firm, high-quality mattress. Here, I would rate the sleep comfort 3/10. ⸻ ❌ Air Conditioning Doesn’t Work Properly The AC never cooled the room properly. • Technician came and just restarted it • Promised it would cool down in 20 minutes • It never did The temperature stayed around 23–25°C, while in good hotels you can easily set it to 18–19°C for comfortable sleep. ⸻ ❌ Low-Quality Bathroom Amenities Instead of proper toiletries, they provide: • Cheap 2-in-1 shampoo/shower gel This is not something you expect from a 5-star hotel. ⸻ ❌ Misleading “Sea View” We booked a sea view room, but the reality was: • Mostly construction site view • The sea is only barely visible in the distance This feels misleading. ⸻ ❌ Cheap Details That Break the Experience • No proper bottled water — instead a large shared water container (feels like a canteen, not a hotel) • Furniture looks like outdoor/garden furniture placed inside the room • Overall room design feels cheap and not cozy ⸻ ❌ Poor Responsiveness • Reception didn’t pick up the phone at night • Called back once, but later stopped responding • In the morning, calls were simply ignored This is extremely frustrating, especially when issues need to be resolved. ⸻ 💰 Price vs Value At around $120 per night, this is not a budget hotel — especially for this area. For that price, the quality and service should be significantly better. ⸻ ➕ The Only Positive The garden and pool area are actually quite nice and well-maintained. This is the only reason I’m not giving the lowest possible rating. ⸻ ⭐ Final Verdict: 1.5 / 5 • +0.5 for the pool and garden • +1 for being acceptable if it were honestly a 3-star hotel But as a 5-star hotel — this is very disappointing. ⸻ 🧾 Summary If you’re expecting a real 5-star experience — avoid this place. If you’re okay with a basic 3-star level and lower expectations, it might be acceptable.

The main desk lady didn’t not make us feel welcomed. The pool water is very hot and perhaps a waterfall would help to cool the Water . We had a private pool and were not able to use that as the water was also very hot. Possible shade cover would help with this I would say that over all we were disappointed with our stay there. - Bongekile (8/5): - There’s a large variety of breakfast options. The property also has 3 restaurants in total from which lunch and dinner meals can be enjoyed. The staff at this place were very friendly and helpful. When I made the booking, the room type I selected had two bed options: 1 king bed or 2 twin beds. This is no problem at all. I chose the king bed and completed my booking before I would be informed that whether I get this bed will be subject to availability. Mind you, this property offers no refunds if you want to cancel no matter how early it is in your reservation. I think whether the bed one chooses is available or not should be communicated before a non-refundable payment is made. This way, one can choose to not go through with the reservation. I felt and still feel like this is a flaw. When I enquired further about this I was told that the bed choice is a special request, which is not how it was presented at first. I was told there’s no guarantees when it comes to special requests. I refused to back down and informed them that I would not accept two twin beds since that’s not what I chose during my booking stage, but I think everyone who ends up booking a room marketed that way deserves to know exactly how it works.

Any complaints were handled immediately to the absolute best of their ability. It is in a nice quiet location the beach access is lovely. In its prime it would have been an amazing resort. I would say that this hotel is edging on the side of tired. The bathrooms have mould tiles and seats in the pool bar need attention. The beds while ok have dips where guest lay. Our first room smelt mouldy and the air conditioning didnt work. They were so very good and gave a new room which was better and more comfortable. If they say you get what you pay for then it should have been of a higher standard All things aside we did enjoy our stay the staff made the difference.

- Q7679RWannf (10/5): Amazing resort and beach view - We had a great stay at SOL by Meliá Phu Quoc! The resort is beautiful, relaxing, and perfect for a beach vacation. The pools, beach, and breakfast were all enjoyable. Special thanks to B Tuyen for her kindness and excellent service. She was very helpful and made our stay even more pleasant. Would definitely recommend this resort and would love to come back!
- Kay See (8/5): - Great view from the balcony! Breakfast options is good. Private beach and swimming pool with sunbeds and shade. Very pleased there are always sunbeds or lounges available whenever we want to relax. Great for people looking for a quiet resort to relax for a few days. Staff are very friendly! Free shuttle to airport is on very limited schedule, so we just book our own Grab ride. Not many shops or restaurants within walking distance.

- Nils (6/5): We did expected more from the Junior Suite - They had an afternoon cake everyday which was nice. Live saxophone performance at pool/beach area Too less seats at the breakfast and we sometimes had to wait or sit outside. Room did not fulfill our expectations, furniture had lot's of dirty spots and bathroom area wasn't 100% clean. Balcony at the Junior suite is basically the same size as normal room since you can't really use 50% of it.
- Darren (9/5): Absolutely superb resort - Rooms were fantastic, pool and poor bar excellent, beach was nice, and gardens were spectacular. The pool entertainment was first class, the restaurants very good and breakfast was excellent I had no reason to be disappointed with anything.
- Navdeep (4/5): A lovely stay marred by dissappointing staff behaviour - A huge property with a nice pool and lovely beach for swimming, even for young children. Very clean room including the spotless bathroom and bathtub. Nice breakfast spread. While the stay started off well, repeated air-conditioning failures during the night seriously disrupted our rest. Despite multiple technician visits confirming that the AC in our room was malfunctioning, the duty manager handled the situation poorly. He initially dismissed concerns by stating that all rooms had the same temperature, contradicting his own technician’s findings. Requests for a practical solution—such as allowing limited use of another room to avoid repeatedly unpacking at an early hour—were refused without flexibility or empathy, even though we had a sleeping child and an early morning flight. Only after insisting on objective temperature checks was the problem acknowledged, and cooling in our room improved shortly thereafter. The issue itself was frustrating, but it was the manager’s dismissive attitude, lack of transparency, and unwillingness to accommodate a reasonable request that ultimately overshadowed what would have been a lovely stay.

- Bohlin (8/5): Sol o bada 2 veckor - Lagom stort rum. Mycket bra säng, Fin miljö. Frukost var bra. Fick rum på 6 våningen så underbar utsikt. Är inte 5 stjärnigt hotell utan mer 4 . Var lite slitet här o var. Ligger för sig själv utan några butiker på resorten eller utanför. Fick ta taxi till staden för handla. Lite för mycket musik vid poolen så man fick ingen lugn o ro.

I paid the entire amount, we expected to come in and enjoy but for some reason they need to reverify by physical card which I do not have. When the entire world is turned to Apple Pay, card shows the same number as booking but they still required to wait a month to receive a refund. What the hell?

- francesco (10/5): Relax All Inclusive - tutto, dalla posizione alla struttura, staff molto cordiale e gentile, e super disponibile per ogni esigenza. il servizio all inclusive è ottimo poiché ti permette di accedere a tutti i ristoranti e bar della struttura con un menù vasto. non c’è nulla che non ci sia piaciuto però vorremmo consigliarvi di: 1) aumentare la quantità di ombrelloni in spiaggia 2) migliorare o ampliare l’intrattenimento durante la giornata e anche dopo cena (per esempio le attività come Yoga piuttosto che acquagym etc erano previste ma purtroppo spesso non venivano effettuate poiché bisognava “prenotarle”)
