Guest Reviews
- Nils-Henrik (10/5): Cute, quiet and just great - Very large and charming room with those large Amsterdam windows. Nice bathroom and toilet. Only disadvantage are the very steep stairs to the room. Would not want to come home intoxicated - or worse leave intoxicated.
Very well kept, and very clean. "Only" there only for a business trip, but sure I will be back with my better half at some point.
- Moses (10/5): A wonderful stay - This has to be one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in, it’s exactly what my girlfriend and I were after.
Room was big and spacious, basically like a small apartment to ourselves with a lovely little balcony overlooking the street.
Location is perfect, close enough to everything a first time tourist might want to check out, without being in the thick of it.
I really have nothing negative to say about this hotel, it was just perfect.
- Holly (10/5): - Nice big room, beautifully decorated and friendly host.
- Rita (10/5): - A very nice, clean, and roomy property in a nice city neighborhood.
- oliviero (10/5): - Clean, convenient to restaurant train and grocery store also good coffe shop I will defenetely come back
- Laurie (10/5): - Safe and convenient. The only somewhat drawback was the stairs. Going up to the first floor, the steps were very steep but we got use to them.
- Hyo Na (10/5): Fantastic - We stayed here for two nights and it was such a great stay. The hosts were nice and the place is just as described. Very close to tram stations and also the Albert Cuyp Market. Just 10 min to the city center and museum area. We will definitely come stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic stay in Amsterdam - Loved this place. Amazing and comfortable room with everything we needed for a weekend trip to Amsterdam. The hosts were friendly, kind and had lots of recommendations for what they like to do around the area. The welcome drink was a nice touch :) Will absolutely book again.
- Krystal (10/5): - This place was so beautiful in well kept. Couldn’t beat the neighborhood with so much to do close by. Walkable to all the things, museums, metro, street market, city Centre, etc.
- Ann (10/5): - Absolutely charming double room with lovely sitting area and small balcony. Location was great too with a grocery across the street and within walking distance of many sights as well as easy access to the Metro station.
- Reidun (8/5): Love this b&b - Really clean, Nice rooms. Perfect area, welcoming Staff. Perfect, will try to get the same hotell next time.
- Josette (10/5): Agréable séjour dans n hôtel parfait - Agréable séjour grâce à notre hôtel bien situé, calme et parfaitement propre.
Belle et grande chambre lumineuse.
Seul problème : l’escalier très raide !
- Philip (8/5): Nice facility - We really liked the B&B. Wasn't really a B&B because breakfast wasn't included but that was OK. Check-in and check-out went smoothly. When we did have breakfast there it was great.
- Brian (10/5): Excellent B&B in Amsterdam - This is a really nice B&B run by very friendly people. The room was very large and had all that was needed. A very good and delicious breakfast is available in the cafe, whose staff are extremely friendly and knowlegable. It is in a quiet street and is located mid way between RAI and the centre of the city. Easy walking in either direction and there are some excellent restaurants nearby.
- Caroline (8/5): - It was beautifully clean and the owners very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately we did find it quite noisy at night as the windows were not double glazed.
We could also hear the noises ( albeit quiet) in the building.
We would however highly recommend.
- Bertel (8/5): Cozy hotel near to centre - Very nice hotel. Small but cozy. Well situated. 3 metro stations from Central station. Bathroom very good. Overall very good
- Verified traveler (8/5): - it would be perfect if there is a little induction cooker.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a lovely property. Lots of Dutch charm. One of the rooms in the basement, with the indoor patio, was big and comfortable. The couple that run the bed and breakfast are very nice. I recently spent my birthday there and they were very kind and generous with me. I will always have great memories of this trip. Would definitely recommend.
I wil be returning...
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I had a wonderful & safe stay at there.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We were on the first floor of building 1A, and were woken both mornings to hotel staff (the cleaning personnel) talking loudly in the halls, slamming doors, and just otherwise being very noisy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - located in the best neighborhood! lots of fun stuff to do around there. beautiful room as well!!!
- Ashley (10/5): Lovely stay - Lovely place, got the balcony I asked for which was brilliant. Thinking of coming back late October. Friendly staff and cleaners! (despite being too hungover to let them in some days) thank you.
- Ciaran (8/5): Does what it says! - Great communication in advance and made sure I knew the check-in situation and how to arrange key pick up which was great. Room was nice and simple. Challenging bath to get into for a shower - room 14 - watch out!
Handy Lidl just opposite for a quick breakfast and a short walk to the Centrum area. All good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good communication, helpful staff. Good location for the purpose of my trip. Shower/TV/Wi-Fi all good!
The only (minor) negative point was that my room was on the very top floor. The stairs were fine for me, but may cause issues for some people.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was very friendly. Be mindful that check in is actually at the restaurant “Bij Paul” across the street from the actual rooms.
- M&Y (8/5): - Grat location in ‘The Pipe’, walking distance from city center and cafes, restaurants and art galleries nearby. Bij Paul cafe is a gem and servecs delicious breakfast. Rooms are in a tyical converted Amsterdam town house, a little basic but comfy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location and neighbourhood. 5 mins walk to tram. Less than 10 mins walk to Metro stations. One of the best parts were walking across the street to Paul coffee shop to start the morning. Lucas was very friendly and a great barista. He addressed a slight problem I encoutered with the bathroom stopper and printed our train tickets for us. If you’re travelling w a large suitcase, getting to your room will be quite tricky as it has the typical narrow staircases of Dutch houses/apt I’m told and no elevators. As a final FYI, walls are thin though so you may overhead your neighbours’ chatter and nighttime extracurricular activities... It’s a great neighbourhood to stay in though~ a little bit outside of the tourist busy-ness, but all easily accessible.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff were lovely and very welcoming, would recommend and stay again.
- Mike (10/5): - Amazing and would visit here often, close convenient and very friendly.
- parminder (6/5): Amsterdam - The B and B is situated in the right place , you are close to town which is fab. The only downfall we found were the beds , we practically dipped in . Paul and his wife are very friendly people . It’s just the bed that key is down
- Katie (10/5): Awesome stay - Great room and location
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This property no longer is a B and B. Breakfast is no longer a part of the price. This should have been corrected or compensation made to travelers.
- MarcEva&Shanti (10/5): - We had a terrific time at Nine(T)Teen B&B. Room was great. Hosts were wonderful. Location convenient. We definitely recommend it. Was a great start of our European holiday.
- Nicola (10/5): - Lovely stay at nineteen we stayed for 2 nights . Staff very helpful and friendly . The area was very nice and peaceful . Lots of places to eat out and have a drink . Great market 5 mins away . Would stay here again .
- Kelly (8/5): Great location - Great staff, great room and fantastic location
- Wendy (8/5): Quiet location - Lovely friendly staff. Breakfast delicious. Room clean , lovely balcony to sit in the sun. We were on 3rd floor, having had a knee replacement found stairs tricky , but would not be a problem for most people. Enjoyed our stay very much.
- SR (8/5): - The hotel staff were wonderful and welcoming. The rooms were lovely and had everything you needed. The location was good. A 10 min walk into the town centre or the the museum district. A lovely find that I would definately go back to.
The stairs are steep though. So think twice if you have dodgy knees.
- R (10/5): - Great location for our needs and travel
Would book again with them
- Richard (8/5): Loved neighborhood - Loved neighborhood and helpful couple running it. Easy enough walk to everything or bus when tired at end of day. Grocery right across the street; loved Italian restaurant on corner easy walk away with outside sitting. Treated ourselves to arranged cab by owners 35 euros to airport at end of stay. We used bus coming in and much cheaper. Very steep steps to room ; owner carried my bag on arrival. Uplifting feeling to our experience over all.
- Christopher (10/5): Great location, hip neighbourhood, very ncie staff - Best part was how nice the staff were at check in. They helped us with an early check-in, gave us taxi recommendations, and we had a lovely lunch in the cafe that's part of the checkin area. Lovely big windows looked out on the street, with a little patio where we could sit outside drinking wine and watching Amsterdam life go by. I'd highly recommend this location for anyone as it's walkable to tons of nice restaurants and bars and Riks Museum too.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely experience, room was simple and beautiful in a great neighbourhood close to city centre.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice quiet area but close to everything - The b&b is about 25 mins walk from the train station (which is where the coach drops you if you get the ferry). It is a lovely walk and is in the quiter end of the city which has some nice bars and restaurants. The room was fine and breakfast was lovely. We really enjoyed our stay. It is a bit of a trek though if you have lots of luggage and are only staying a night as we had to carry our bags about with us the next day. You can use lockers at the train station but only if you have an OV chip card. The hotel would have looked after our bags but as already said its a fair walk back to pick them up! Otherwise no complaints 😁
- Richard (8/5): Nine T teen review - Nice room. Friendly owners. Handy part of town with some good restaurants within easy walking distance.
- Drew (8/5): - Amazing room, friendly owners, easy check in and check out! Lovely place and good location
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, spacious room. Friendly staff! Excellent stay thank you!
- laura (10/5): Excellent stay - Check was very easy, the hotel contacted us before arrival with directions, which were very easy to follow. Very friendly greeting and shown to our room. Stairs are a little steep if you struggle with mobility but where fine for us. Room was a good size, clean bathroom with towels and toiletries.
We very much appreciated the kettle in the room, when staying in January a hot drink was very Welcome!
The area was quiet, we walked to all the places we wanted to visit, only around 15 minute walk to the museums and maybe around 30 minutes to the main square. However very close the tram stop.
Staff were very friendly and on hand if we needed anything! Would definitely visit this hotel again and recommend it!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Strange bathroom door - Very strange bathroom door, the door was replaced with some sort of thin see through wardrobe door. The room was very humid and the air was so-so.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We ended up in a basement room and basically the bathroom was in a closet. Was a little grungy down there and when you needed the window open it was right to the sidewalk where people could literally look down into your room. I’m sure the rooms at higher levels are nicer though.
- Carlos (10/5): nine teen BB Great option !! - Very friendly and helpfull staff. Tasty food in the restaurant. Unbeatable location . I will come back for sure
- Nick (10/5): 4 bed apartment at the Nine-T-Teen. - Just loved this place, not written any reviews after staying ANYWHERE before. Perfect location, great neighborhood, even though a little further out. Fantastic sized living space, comfortable and very very authentically/locally styled. Already looking at when we can return and when we do, we'd only ever stay here.
- Gin (8/5): Nice B and B in the heart of Amsterdam. - The proprietors are wonderful. Very nice, very helpful. My only complaint is that they do not tell you in the description that the stairway to get to the rooms is very narrow, curved and very steep. My husband is legally blind and while he did ok, I would not have booked here if I had known this. It is however in a great part of town. Close to several of the museum's and the public transportation. It is also right down the street from the Albert Cuyp flea market, which was awesome.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - If you not like steep stairs or dirty wall to wall carpets, this hotel is not a good choice.
- Vishal (10/5): Will return - What a lovely place, from the neighbourhood to the owners to the rooms. Paul and Ninette were very helpful
- Bridget (8/5): Charming and convenient - What a wonderful and charming B & B. We arrived very very late (1AM) and the owners communicated with us the entire time on how to access our room. and key after hours It was a little confusing upon arrival as they have several buildings and our taxi took us to one of their buildings down the street. Luckily we ran into some guests who explained the key box was down the street. The coffee shop where breakfast is located is really fantastic and yummy. The owners are very attentive and helpful in making plans around the city. Everything is a 15-30 minute walk or you can rent a bike from them. Wish we could have stayed for more than 24 hours!
- Dan (8/5): Clean spot nicely located - We were lucky to get a free upgrade to a room that is normally more than $500 per night. The room was spacious and clean. It's the entire second floor and has a very steep and narrow staircase to it. The bathroom and shower rooms are separate, but the shower was large and luxurious. The place is well located and it was only a 10 minute walk to the Heineken Experience and another 10 mins to the Van Gogh museum. One of the best parts was the grocery store across the street where we were able to get food for a great price.
- Leah (2/5): Horrible horrible horrible!!!! - This hotel is by far the worst hotel I have stayed in. The rooms were filthy (bed bugs),the employees were rude, and the hotel overall was horrible. Save your money and do not stay at this hotel.
- Karl (8/5): Cosy Room, Good Location - We got a good sized room on the top floor with a nice view. Since the room is in an older building it has the narrow, spiral stairs and no elevators. With that said, the building is located in a nice, quite neighbourhood and a short walk to Albert Cuyp Market and an easy stroll to other places.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had our lost luggage delivered and Ninette and staff were kind enough to have it brought up to our room.
Would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, lovely staff and reception with cute bits and pieces and goood coffeee. The room was large and beds comfy. Would stay there again.
- svetlana (10/5): - Paul and Ninette very helpful and pleasant hostess, location very central, hotel in a very historical and Holland style
- Cheryl (6/5): Close to transport links. - The hotel was an easy walk to the tram stop which was great. Our room was at the very top of a different building with nearly vertical stairs. My mother had trouble with this so we made sure we stayed out until we were ready for bed so we only needed to do the stairs once a day. Although we know that houses in Amsterdam are tall, please be aware of this if you have difficulties. It was a very noisy position to be in the mornings but no problems with noise in the evenings. This was supposed to be a deluxe room. We had old apple crates as side tables, not the lovely ones shown in their photos. The cleanliness wasn't up to standard especially in the halls and corridors. Our cups were filthy on arrival and also the following day after the cleaner had been in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great room, close to all areas. - Loved the city, walked miles and used 'hop on, hop off' to travel the canals.
- Vitaly (2/5): Very bad experience with this hotel - Although we had "private" bathroom, we had to cross a shared entrance room to go to bathroom or restroom.
The description says that they have daily housekeeping, but they would not help with not so special requests to replace the sheets or towels (they only do it once or twice a week).
The promised "dry cleaning/laundry service" does not exist and they suggested us to use a coin operated laundry service a block or two away from the hotel.
The stuff was not nice, questioning our requests for extra sheets and replacing towels at least every few days.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommend!!! - Best B&B we have ever stayed. Wonderful authentic atmosphere. High attention to detail and super friendly hosts. Cosy breakfast place just across the road.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - convenient location close to public transportation and close to grocery store. lovely staff and delicious breakfast. room showed some wear & tear (scuff marks on furniture and and walls) TV not functional, overall bit too expensive but we still had a good time
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice comfy place in the Pijp - We had a great relaxing stay in this beautiful place located in a nice relaxing area of Amsterdam that is quiet and cozy but close to all the things the city has to offer. Thanks!
- SVA Remarketing (6/5): - Found the room and shower area dirty. Hairs and stains !!!!
- Rachael (10/5): Amazing stay! - Me and my friend arrived after 7pm so we went to one of the rooms opposite the reception which we were told to do before hand. The staff were so helpful and messaged us before we stayed with directions and even offered to book us a taxi from the airport. The lady who met us was so kind and helpful and showed us to our room which was in one of the hotel's houses further down the street. Our room was on the top floor which was fine for me and my friend, we had a lovely view, but it might be a bit of a struggle if you are elderly or disabled. The staff were so lovely and helpful. The room was so clean and we had all the amenities we needed. The hotel was in a lovely location and about a 25 min walk from the centre with a tram stop about a 3 minute walk away. If you haven't been to Amsterdam before it is one of the best cities I have been to and there is so much to do! Would definitely recommend this hotel :)
- Verified traveler (8/5): De Pijp hotel is worth it - An excellent location for us. De Pijp is trendy and up and coming. Quick walk to Albert Cuyp market; quick bike ride to Dam; grocery store across the street and the folks at Bij Paul are very helpful.
The room I had as sunny , quiet and comfortable. Some may not like the narrow staircase.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nineteen BnB - Great location, great room, great staff!
- Emil (4/5): Not such a good value for money - The hotel is a set of rooms in different buildings on the same street. The staff were nice, but there were a few 'details' that made the stay less than ideal. Even more so considering the price of a double at 150 euros per night.
To start with, heating: off when we got to the room (hence really called inside; we did inform the hotel about the arrival time in advance); then turned on by the hotel staff. But, very disappointingly, turned off the next day while we were out, so that the room was freezing cold again on the second night as well.
Next, the bathroom: soap dispenser above the bath broken and empty, a single small soap available and to be shifted back and forth between the sink and the bath.
And then the coffee/tea facility in the room: strictly two small coffee helpings and strictly two tea-bags - one with green tea and one with black tea, so if both people want the same tea they have to share the tea-bag. And no milk of course. Very stingy for the price of the stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Small detail that could improve experience...More coffee, teas sachets please, spoons!!! as toothbrush not so good haha, but overall great stay, Paul was lovely, and cozy and friendly atmosphere in coffeeshop across the road for breakfast, lovely friendly staff. Convenient to tram, bus services and prompt taxi pick ups.
- April (10/5): Beautifully furnished in a good, quiet location - Ninette was helpful beforehand in booking us a taxi. The apartment was beautifully decorated and huge! It was for three of us originally but one person couldn't join us so we had so much space. Across the road, is the cafe and breakfast was good! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating! They have bikes you can hire too.
- alexandra loria (8/5): - A very nice hotel. Very clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We loved the experience. The only thing that was a bit an issue for us is that it's a bit far from the center, a 25 minutes walk. But other than that it's a great place to stay.
- Andrew (8/5): so well located - Our B & B was ideal for our 4 night Amsterdam stay. Good room, it was well located so close to the markets and a short walk fromthe Museum! Dam Square, Red Light District etc.
- jarrett (8/5): - Great place, great people, great location. If you don't like to climb stairs, this place is not for you
