Guest Reviews
- Robert (2/5): Doors closed & locked - I arrived later in the evening and everything was closed even the office. There was a number posted on the door to a call but when I called it they were too busy to even answer.
- zachary (2/5): - staff was late for check in, called the number provided didnt answer. Door getting up to the rooms didnt want to unlock so felt like we couldn't go anywhere. Room was alright, no batteries in the tv remote so had to switch between the AC remote and tv remote. no one in the office in the morning to check out, so left key in the room. i will never stay there again. no parking lot, had to park vehicle on the street.
- Erika (6/5): - No one was present to check us in. Had to call around and then wait :20 in the heat. Absolutely NO apology whatsoever for the delay, which should be courtesy standard by literally anyone leaving someone to wait for a prebooked and reserved day/time.
- Rebekah (10/5): - I was happy to find that the room was very clean and the food was really good at the Mexican restaurant downstairs. The staff were friendly and helpful.
- PAUL (2/5): - The bed was horrible. Very squeaky and noisy. TV had no reception. Netflix didn't work. Floor was squeaky. No hot water to take shower. Sink faucet was loose. Only one wash cloth for two people. Very disappointed!!!
- Joe N Katey (2/5): Garbage dump - Noone was there after 11 to check you in but they let us make a reservation after 11 pm the same nite and then are trying yo charge my credit card 45 bucks because they werent there ya hell nah..they will...
- Hisrrael (10/5): - Nice service
- Debra S (8/5): - The stairs were very difficult for some in our group, we will not stay there again because they are very steep. There was no coffee pot, hair dryer, ice box or plugs for items. For the price we were disappointed.
- David (2/5): we drove away - We booked online, but did not know there was no tree, nothing green, nothing attractive or welcoming, only a locked entryway to a rooms above a Mexican restaurant. It looked so grim that after failing to contact anyone we drove away, paying for no-show, to find lodging further north in Roseburg.
- Julie (10/5): - Very private. Big room. Convient restaurant downstairs. 24 hour convience store across the street. Would definitely stay again.
- Amy (8/5): - This hotel is on a 2nd floor. The receptionist said it says that on the website, but I don't remember seeing that. the amenities are in the hallway.
comfortable bed.
the toilet was low to the ground and not proper toilet bowl flushing.
- Mike (8/5): - We have lived in this area for a long time and the new owners of this hotel have done a great job. It used to be run down and I would have never considered staying. Now it’s clean, nice furniture and comfortable bed. We will definitely stay again. Great job on revitalizing an historic hotel and making it great again.
- Laura (4/5): - Check-in was not good. The front desk area is locked. I called at 2pm and was told it would be open at 3pm. Came back a little after 3pm and still no one. I called again and was told someone will be right there. About 20 minutes later, a very nice girl came and checked us in.
Room was updated. Shower was nice. Toilet and sink old. There's a frig, coffee maker and microwave in the shared hallway only. No ice maker, either.
It was quiet the night we stayed there.
Yes, steep stairs to get up to the level with the "Hotel" rooms. I feel that it's too expensive for not even having a coffee maker in the room and no staff (except for the bar employees, who wouldn't give us a bag of ice .)
Definitely is not for anyone who have problems climbing stairs.
- George (2/5): This Matter needs URGENT RESPONSE. THANK YOU! - To whom whole this concerns, my family and and I arrived a The Green Tree Hotel after driving 13 hours to get there. Upon our arrival there, the hotel lobby was locked. There wasn’t anyone in sight and all doors where locked. We called the number provided several times to either be disconnected or be redirected to a third party auto-voice message. The only nearest humans to the location of this establishment were vagrants outside. My family and I not feel safe there and we’re not able to get any help to check in. We had to drive 37 extra miles to find vacancy and a motel.
This is very concerning and unacceptable.
- Kenny (10/5): Two thumbs up - Very clean comfortable stay in a small town atmosphere would definitely stay again
- Betsy F. (4/5): - Small beef: easy to miss because it’s above a Mexican restaurant and the name isn’t out front. Bigger beef: At 4:45 pm, the desk person had left for the day because “everyone had checked in” (not me)! The google maps phone # was no good, and the phone # on the wall gave an automated response that the mailbox was full, “goodbye!” So I go in the restaurant and a very nice lady checked me in. All 9 rooms are up a *steep* flight of stairs! And my microwave and fridge were in a shared alcove! None of the above was mentioned in website. I could get ice until the restaurant closed at 9 pm. On the plus side, the lady (bartender/server/desk backup?) was very nice, the room was clean, the sound insulation was good, the bed was comfortable and TV was pretty good (maybe better? I’m tech-challenged so it could be me). Just glad I didn’t arrive at 9:30!
- Rodney (8/5): - The bess are extremely cheap and noisy just sitting and rolling over on them. Need to upgrade. Food is amazing.
- Lisa (8/5): Looks Are Deceiving - Upon arrival, the office was closed. The building looks very old and not that inviting. The manager showed up, checked me in and wow, the room was modern and very clean. The bed was comfortable too. There are stairs to climb in order to get to the rooms and there isn't an elevator. One more mebtionable is there's a Mexican Restaurant on the first floor which was tasty and a coffee shop right across the street.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No one was at the hotel to check us in at 3:45 p.m. When the number was called no one answered. If it wasn't for another person waiting to check in we would've thought it was closed and we would have had to leave. We were finally checked in 45 minutes later. When turning in the key the next morning the woman who helped us was not very pleasant. The bed had plastic on it which caused it to be excessively loud when laying down or rolling over in bed. You could hear all movement on the stairs at all times and the stairway and hallway had light sensors but were very dark and not very well lit. In the description it states there is a balcony but none of the rooms have a balcony.
- Ramona (4/5): - Desk girl was great, friendly n nice. Building was old on the outside looks like a old Brothel n lots of stairs to climb up to your room didn’t feel safe in area ..
- Ryan (10/5): - Clean and cute property. The restaurant attached was such a blessing. The area around the hotel is absolutely beautiful. The room was clean and the staff was very nice. I’m excited to come back one day.
- Jeri L. (8/5): Cute place -
Unfortunately I came after hours and was not able to check in.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Drug motel - This hotel is a drug hang out. there were people outside the motel screaming at each other all night and we did NOT feel safe at all.
- Raoul (6/5): - As you walk in, room seem super clean. But as you lift sheets up we found bottom sheet was not changed, we found hairs and seemed like it was just done without changing sheets. The pros, there’s a Mexican restaurant and and bar at the bottom of hotel.
- Robert (6/5): - Liked the room updates and decor. Nice carpet, furniture and bath. Pretty clean. Pet friendly. Nice TV with mini split heater/AC. Nice hallway paint/decor.
Dislikes ..... toilet was still dirty with pubic hair and such. No wash clothes to use. No coffee pot or microwave/small fridge in room. Only microwave/fridge in hallway nook. Long flight of stairs up to room (old building). Hall very cold.
- rex (8/5): - minimal amenities. Clean and very comfortable beds.
Would stay there again.
- omar (2/5): - It is extremely outdated, on top of a restaurant and with dogs in the lobby. The beds are so stiff it hurts to even lay on them.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Scary movie - Upon check in, no one was at front desk. A server from the restaurant downstairs said she will check us in and then said that there are some weird ppl at the bar that can potentially go upstairs if door isn’t kept closed. Came back to my room at 1am and the door was indeed open. Next door to me sounded like someone was getting it on and you can hear the bed squeaking and hitting the wall. Then someone attempted a few times at 3am to try to get in my room by entering the code. There was hair in the bathtub, floors felt dusty and didn’t looked mopped for days, AC did not work, and hotel is way overpriced and doesn’t even look like a hotel from the outside. Looks like one of those hotels you see in the scary movies. Overall I won’t be staying there but it was my last resort in staying there because hotels surrounding the areas were all booked.
- James (2/5): - It was in BFE
- John (10/5): - .
- Michelle (2/5): Very unprofessional - Check-in was suppose to be at 3 and no one got to the the office until 4. The toilet in the room wouldn't flush. We will not be staying here again.
- Sky (2/5): I COULD HAVE DIED! - I called at 9pm to let them know i was running late and would not arrive til 2am or 3am and the lady told me NOT TO WORRY! SHE SAID SHE WOULD BE THERE ALL NIGHT AND ANYTIME WAS FINE!
I GOT THERE AT 3AM AND THE HOTEL WAS LOCKED UP, NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONES, I ENDED UP HAVING TO DRIVE 5 MORE HOURS TO GET HOME BECAUSE I HAD NO MORE MONEY TO RENT ANOTHER ROOM!!! I COULDVE KILLED MYSELF DRIVING SO TIRED AND I FEEL THAT CLERK PUT MY LIFE IN DANGER AND IN THE LEAST I WANT A COMPLETE REFUND!
- mary (2/5): I didn't even stay the night there there was roach - i want a refund, I didn't even stay the night there there was roaches everywhere
- Sandra (4/5): - Happy that Property was clean outside, staff was helpful and friendly. Happy the decor wqs nice; although one picture was hun UPSIDE DOWN.
Unhappy about ONLY stairs, many, No elevator. Unhappy sinks AND tub was clogged/back up, carpet was filthy; even has gummy bears on it. No tub stop, so my child couldn't bathe. High price for the room.
- Jesse (2/5): No check in after 11 - I cant check in. They are closed. Please call me
- Chris (6/5): - Property is clean, except you may see a roach or two being over a restaurant. Would benefit from better quality bedding. Ground level restaurant and bar closes early enough so quiet for sleeping during night. No elevator up to level 2 where rooms are located.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible Experience - This was the worst place ever. We had a long drive and were tired, No one was there to check us in. We Ate dinner at the restaurant while waiting for someone to check us in. There were cockroaches in the restaurant. Two hours later the lady showed up for check in. The after she gave us the key to a room, we went upstairs to the room, unlocked the door, only to find someone else already in the room. Went back to the lobby and the lady was gone again. Someone else walked in and said they knew where she “lived” . They showed us her door. We knocked, she answered the door and then her dog ran out. (My husband is deathly afraid of dogs). We told her that someone else was in the room. She said oops, I gave you the wrong key. She went and got another room key for us. The bathroom was dirty, and the sink would not drain. There was not a microwave, coffee machine, refrigerator or hair dryer as advertised. I am just glad this trip is over! We will NEVER go back.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The personnel at the hotel and restaurant were lovely, and the hotel is quaint and decorated very nicely, but it was so noisy i couldn't sleep. Also, the hotel only has street parking and some spaces across the street, which felt unsafe to me. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the waitstaff-wonderful
- James (6/5): - found a cockroach in the bathroom
room description said patio with mountain views - room fidnt have patio, its part of the hotel/restaurant
no ingormation was in the room about where or how to access the refrigerator, microwave or shared/communal kitchen access
room did not have ceiling fan, fridge or microwave as stated in the room description
- Julio (4/5): - Bearlyyyyyyy good.
- Theresa (4/5): - The hotel was hard to find; once we checked in, we went to go to our room and the staircase and hallway area smelled of either old Marijuana or kitty litter. The room was hot and we had to ask for more towels for our room. Definitely would not stay again.
- Lorraine (10/5): - The best service ever! The restaurant had great Mexican food with room service
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean room, bed ok. Mexican restaurant and bar on site very convenient and helpful, food and beer really good too, staff super nice. Air conditioning strong
Cons: no elevator. 23 steps to enter room is a little hard for elderly with knee problems carrying luggage, no counter space in bathroom, a behind door clothes rack can help. Neighborhood not the best but ok.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For the price, this was right on our expectations. Amenities were as expected. The rooms were extremely clean and we were so thankful for the AC unit in each room.
The woman who checked us in was very nice. It is a small town feel - don’t expect this to feel like a big hotel.
However, in one of our two rooms, the box spring was so squeaky that we had to move the mattress to the floor. You can tell they are working on upgrading things as they are able to, so I’m sure they know and it’s on their list.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Hard to find. Clean, but felt shabby and dated. Steep poorly lit staircase to access rooms.
- Guy (2/5): - Hard to find and no parking , Really BAD
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The Staff was very friendly. We had no idea that the hotel is located above a taqueria and bar. The room we had looked nothing like the picture displayed.
The bed mattress was old, firm and crunchy and we woke up with shoulder and back aches. There was an old refrigerator down the hallway for community use and there was old, cold coffee in the Mr. Coffee, coffee pot. It was gross.
When we texted the owner letting her know that we are leaving, she tried to tell us that she had another room with a softer bed, that some people like firm beds, others like soft beds. We just wanted a normal bed.
We packed up and left. We were charged an a large cancellation fee but was not charged for the remaining 2 nights.
There is a picture of a taqueria also in the advertisement and we thought, oh, that's nice, there is a taqueria across the street. We had no idea that This was the hotel, above the taqueria. (with a long staircase we had to lug up our luggage to get on the second floor above the taqueria).
Again, the staff was very friendly and we tipped the extremely well the first night we arrived, at the bar and at dinner.
With a little more attention paid to the sleeping accommodations (new mattress, little fridge, coffee maker in the room), the stay could have worked.
- Kaori (4/5): Not family friendly - It’s water comes out from tub is brown. I reserved with 2 person but only one towels set. I need to have two keys to in and out of hotel.
- Kathleen (2/5): - This hotel, as stated on it's website, is anything but alright. I could not stay there. Upon check in, when viewing the room, there was no AC, stated per desk clerk that it would only be turned on if I secured the room. I had traveled many miles to meet my father, celebrating my mom's heavenly birthday. I felt as if I had no choice. Once accepting, I got into the room, was there maybe five minutes, then needed to go back to my car. I could not exit the room, was completely locked in from the outside in for greater than ten minutes. I had to bang on the door from the inside, screaming for someone to open the door. I could not get out. This was extremely traumatizing, as I had to bang on the door from the inside to get out. No staff was immediately available, finally a guest who lived next door went for help. As a woman traveling alone, or for anyone for that matter, this is completely unacceptable. Once the clerk finally came, she had to unlock the door from the outside to let me out. I left immediately, did not touch one thing in the room. Please take this motel off of your website. It is beyond not okay.
- Crystal (6/5): - Very few TV channels
Was not dog friendly. No place for a dog to do it's bussiness.
- Hagai (6/5): Holiday blues - Desperate booking on holiday weekend. Hotel is run down, steep staircase, room tight, but clean. No refer, no cups, no coffee.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very small shower. Bathroom door was very difficult to close. It was a very small sliding door. Really need to update property
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was clean, the staff super friendly. The bed felt like sleeping on a board. The shower head was so low I had to crouch down to shower.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Creepy place,.sketchy too
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No one was there. No one answered the phone number.
It’s above a bar and restaurant. Parking was hard to find.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice quiet room. Comfortable bed. The lady at the desk was very friendly, and helpful.
- Sabrina (10/5): Love - We have stayed 2 times and absolutely love this place. The restaurant and bar downstairs is a plus.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Actually a rip off. We showed up about 11 pm and they were closed. No refunds. No cares. & the lady lied about calling us to confirm. I attempted to call at 9:30 and went to voicemail. Only come here, if you wanna give away your money.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Pros: The rooms were cute. I had control of the temperature in the room. Overall it was comfortable, but cozy.
Cons: there were no electrical outlets available for use without digging behind the chest of drawers. There was no housekeeping during my two nights day. The room was a bit dusty. I was given two shampoo travel bottles, but no conditioner. The lady that ran the place was going about inside the poorly ventilated hotel without a mask during the covid-19 pandemic. Despite asking me when I would arrive, there was no one there to greet me that check in. I had to wait several minutes and call two different numbers to get someone to come check me in.
- Ryan (8/5): - It was different then i an usually used to. It gives you a turn of the century kind of feeling walking in the building and up the stairs. It gave me a feeling of old town antique mixed with a modern touch. I enjoyed my stay. Very clean except the cable tv could have more channels and a microwave and fridge would have made things better but 8 out of 10
- Verified traveler (4/5): Cheap for a Reason - Poor lighting, both going up the staircase (old building) and in the room. Not even a tiny, cheap bar of soap in the bathroom - and during covid no less! Booming music from bar downstairs, until about 10:30pm.
- Joseph (8/5): Quit - Nice place. Room was parity small but nice.
- Kurt (8/5): - Very clean room, comfortable bed. What threw me was that in the dark was hard to find. light to the upstairs didn't turn on until we were 3/4 of the way up the really dark stair case. We were very surprised at how nice the room was
- Mary (8/5): - I like that this is a small hotel, not a lot of rooms. It stays very quiet, even with the restaurant and bar downstairs.
- Keith (8/5): - What I liked? Convenience of a restaurant and bar right downstairs. Customer service. Ease in checking in.
What needs improvement? Light on the stairway, a way to page/text when front desk is empty, parking options.
- Tom (4/5): - This was a decent 2 star hotel listed as a 2.5 star.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The history of the building and area are appealing, the staff was nice and attentive, the restaurant was good.
The toilet was too small for an adult male, and the shelf in the bathroom still had stickers on it associated with assembly, like "front" and "back."
- GD (10/5): - Nice size rooms, clean comfortable beds, would recommend
- NJarvis (10/5): - Employees very accommodating and personable!! Restaurant and bar downstairs with great food and reasonably priced considering the amount of food you get. Happily let us stay all day even though we had no reservations to change rooms!! Great family setting with a great family run business!! I wish them much more great successes in their future!! Thanks for making us feel like part of your family.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Parking was sparse so we parked on the street. Nice, clean, friendly. Beds were very comfortable. Not a bad value.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel itself was wonderful. Clean. Great staff. Location was noisey.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Parking was difficult. Everything else was great. That's all
- Thomas (8/5): Exceeded my expectations. - This is an old building with a mexican restaurant on the first floor and a dozen hotel rooms on the second floor. You enter the main entrance from Main street. I arrived during Friday evening dinner. The "hotel lobby" was closed and no apparent way to contact someone. I entered the bar and there was no bartender so I searched for a waitress. She found someone to help me. Check-in was quick. You are given a key to the stairway door that goes up to the rooms and then a code to enter each room. My room was spacious, clean, well lit, and seemed freshly painted. It had a comfortable bed with Marriott-class bed and bath linens. WiFi was free and fast. There was a 55 inch TV with basic cable channel selection. The only downsides were no coffee service in the room (great coffee shop across the street) and noise from the music in the restaurant. However, I didn't come into room until after 10 on each night and there was no music playing at that time. Overall, this place exceeded my expectations.
- Gordon (8/5): I'd come back - Excellent little place for what it is. Charming, clean and run on limited resources. I'd stay there again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was decent but floor was grungy/sticky feeling, remote didn't work for tv and no one told us about an area called the café which had coffee/tea frig and micro wave, I found this by mistake while wondering around just before check out. If you have bad knees or hips be warned lots of stairs. Also these rooms are above a bar and restaurant so music plays till about 10 or 11. Otherwise it was ok, coffee shop across the street and quick stop store across the street and other restaurants close by. Door to Motel is locked at all times for security which was nice.
