Vijesh (8/5): Good business hotel - The location is central for people who want to explore the main hangout areas of the city. The room was spacious enough and the beds were comfortable. The layout of the room with a large glass window was nice to look out into the city. Thr breakfast was also nice. There was a nice attached restaurant and bar which was convenient. We were rebooked into this hotel since our original hotel was closed for maintenance. The hotel is a business hotel and for a family with small kids, this is not the best. There is no outside area to walk around.

Anoop (7/5): Okay stay, but far below expectations from a five star property. Fails to impress. - Being in the city centre, every thing was close by. Room was clean, spacious and well appointed. Staff at front desk does not even greet or welcome you when you check-in. No eye contact for first 5 minutes of transaction! Have never had such a cold treatment in any other hotel of this category. Otherwise they were polite though. Breakfast service was very poorly managed. There were many staff members on the floor, but no one cared to remove used plates or glasses - all tables , occupied and empty, had piles of used plates and stuff. Not a pleasant site and not acceptable in a 5 star hotel restaurant. The lounge bar was a dismal show. Cocktails we ordered were tasteless. The server did not even care to bring tissues or coasters for drinks. The outside seating area was very disorganised - more like a stockyard for kitchen equipment rather than an ops roof top bar. Will not recommend this bar if you are looking for some thing beyond a quick bottle of beer. Lights in the bathroom needs better care / improved treatment.

In addition to the writing desk and chair, there were 3 additional cushioned sofa type chairs and a round table, normally you find in suites. The hotel is at the city centre and hence close to shopping and other attractions. Breakfast was excellent with many selections. We ordered two club sandwiches and tea. The sandwiches were large that we could eat only one. Price was also reasonable. Shower cubicle was leaking and water was seeping through the floor to the toilet space and also to the wash basin area. On entering the restaurant, we found that the staff were not even acknowledging our presence and hence felt them very unwelcoming, contrary to the experience you get in hotels abroad. Though it is free seating, there was no one to guide us to an appropriate table. While we were eating, someone came and asked our room number. Nobody asked if we needed tea / coffee. We asked for it and then it was served. The staff need more training in etiquettes. While we were in the restaurant, we got a call from a friend from Calicut saying that they are waiting outside our room. I am not sure how the reception staff allowed them to come to our room without even checking with us before allowing them to come up. I had called the reception five minutes before check-out to keep the bills ready and that we are checking out. They sent someone quickly to pick our luggage. When I came down along with our friend, we had photos together and the concierge asked if we have a transport. Our friend was leaving us in his car to the Railway station. Our luggage was getting loaded in the car boot and we all came out. Then the reception realized that there was the sandwich and tea bill to be paid. And we were called inside to pay the bill. Once paid, no invoice / receipt was given. I asked for it and then they gave the receipt. Though I had phoned in advance to keep the bill ready, it was not done. After the photo with our friend, we also forgot about the bill payment. How could the staff take our room key and allow us to leave without checking if there was any outstanding? Then they came running outside to say that there is an outstanding bill to be paid to our embarrassment. In every corner, we found a training gap.
