I had an incredibly frustrating and embarrassing experience with Glory Bush Boutique Villa Nuwara Eliya. I made a reservation for the 21st of June (booked on the 16th) for a group of five friends. When we arrived in Nuwara Eliya in the evening and contacted the hotel to inquire about dinner, I was shocked by the response from a staff member named Hiruni. She rudely claimed that I had called and canceled the booking, which was absolutely false I had not contacted them at all until that call. This was not just unprofessional but extremely embarrassing as I was with a group of friends who had traveled expecting our stay to be sorted. When I asked for a solution, her exact words were, “I don’t know, we don’t have rooms and our hotel is booked two weeks in advance.” First, she blamed me for cancelling the booking, and then she contradicted herself saying the hotel was already fully booked. Clearly, they had given away our room without even bothering to inform me, and made up a story to cover it. No apology, no real help, and absolutely no accountability. After 30 minutes, I received a half-hearted call from the hotel again saying “sorry” but with no solution just passing the blame and brushing it off. This hotel has zero respect for guests, zero professionalism, and no sense of responsibility. I strongly advise others to stay away from this place unless you want your trip ruined with last-minute surprises. Check thoroughly and think twice before trusting them with your booking. There are far better places in Nuwara Eliya where your booking and dignity will be respected.

We had to park the vehicle 300m away from the hotel since the access road was under construction and the hotel was under some repairs, I guess we were the only guest in the hotel due to these conditions and we were unaware of any since we made the reservation with limited info at Booking.com It was an uncomfortable experience, not a good practice to keep these things uninformed for anyone planning to visit. Anyway the staff found parking at the roadside for us and carried our bags. Other than that it was fair.

Prasanna took care of us by helping us order pizza from Pizza Hut, arranging plates and other cutlery for the group. We had a great time at the snooker table which was a pleasant surprise. Rooms of different type we got a balcony room I would recommend that. Access was a bit awkward but ok They don’t have any breakfast options in house so plan accordingly

Only thing I didn't like was they insisted on cash payment upon check out citing card machine not working / not available which was pretty odd...we ended up burrowing cash from our guide to clear the payment...

The beds were very comfortable, ensuring I had a good night's sleep after a day of exploring. One of the highlights of my stay was the beautiful view from my room - it was truly breathtaking. The hotel staff were incredibly kind and friendly. They were always ready to assist with a smile, which added a personal touch to my stay. The hotel's proximity to Gregory Lake was another plus. It was just a short walk away, making it easy to enjoy the scenic beauty of the area.

Didn't get a time to taste their food but we will definitely give them a try next time. The only thing we hated there was the sound of pigeons walking on the roof.. it was a bit uncomfortable. We hope you'll come up with a solution for this.

Both manager and manoj were very friendly and helpful. The location is a little bit out of the town , but nearer to seetha aman temple. The pathway to get to this property was a road full of stone which our driver find it difficult.

• Lakshan (10/5): Fantastic staff creating a warm relaxing environment. Highly recommend! - Excellent stay at glory bush hotel with amazing staff on hand. We had a seamless check in process with Roy and Prasanna assisting with our bags and ensuring we had a settled in well. Staff also provided great recommendations on local restaurant options and were generally very friendly and approachable. Room size was excellent and generally clean. Beds where comfortable and ammenties such as soap was provided. Prasanna assisted with connecting to the fast in room wifi. Breakfast was provided at the requested time by the staff and looked amazing. Food was freshly prepared and well presented. Staff brought our bags down whilst we ate and ensured a seamless check out process. Room did not have an AC or fans, this can make the room a uncomfortable during the day time. However at night once the weather cools, the rooms are at a nice temperature.

And their breakfast was such an amazing breakfast and they prepared a lot for just 2 people so our driver joined us. One of the best sri lankan breakfast I tried there. Honestly, they're all very hospitable. It was tiny bit creepy because we were only 2 young ladies in this huge house.. But we settled in and everything was good.

• Ruth (9/5): Fabulous hotel, luxury at a fraction of the price! - Brilliantly sized rooms/comfy beds! All the staff were so friendly and helpful! Especially Roy :-) If you’re looking for the centre of Nuwara Eliya, this is a little further out… it didn’t bother us as we like to walk but that is the only downside!
