Guest Reviews
- Fatma Cemile (6/5): Güzeldi - Otelin konumu gayet güzel
- Bekir (10/5): - Herhangi bir sorun yaşamadım konaklama sürecinde gece geç saatte gelmeme rağmen iyi karşıladılar teşekkür ederim kendi adıma can sıkıcı tek durum odada bir kaç sivrisinek vardı onların dışında herşey çok iyiydi..
- Kristen (10/5): A+ highly recommend! - I enjoyed my stay at the King Hotel! Comfortable and clean, and a terrific traditional breakfast. Staff was friendly and went the extra mile. Pool looked beautiful but I didn’t have time. Highly recommend!
- Dr John (10/5): Four nights for business trip - Really nice to stay in a Turkish hotel rather than a "bog standard" chain. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the drive to the airport at the end was a fair price and when I needed it. Location is quiet and safe yet within easy walking distance of lots of great restaurants and pubs. Breakfast is basic but wholesome and eating it on the patio by the pool an ideal start to the day. Will definitely stay again if, as I hope, I come back to Ankara again soon!
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Nice location very friendly staff
- ferit (4/5): Not recommend - AC is not working, room is hot, no toilet papers etc
- Tony (6/5): - The staff of this hotel was very nice! The building is a bit dated and badly in need of a refresh. The outside pool area is nice but pool is closed. Location is good!
- Anthonyj24 (6/5): Just ok - Pros: the folks working there were very nice and helpful and cared deeply about providing good hospitality.
The outdoor area is very nice with the pool. Unfortunately the pool was closed when I was there.
The bathrooms were modern and nice!
Cons: the rooms are very dated and desperately in need of a make-over. Frayed carpet, old couch and beds. Drab interior. The whole interior needs a refresh in my opinion.
Need to offer more options for breakfast if that is going to be offered.
Overall, if you are looking for a budget option in downtown Ankara, it will work.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Letzendlich einen höheren Preis als der von Expedia angezeigten und bestätigten Preis gezahlt, da Hotel nur einen Umrechnungskurs akzeptiert, der zehn Prozent negativer ist.
- ddoomra (6/5): Simple hotel in central Ankara - Nice property in middle of residential area and has embassies nearby. Is an old hotel and seems new set of team is running it. Well connected. If they could have more choices for breakfast! Otherwise its an okay property.
- Ozgur (10/5): Evimde gibi - Çalışanlar çok güleryüzlü. Kendimi evimde gibi hissettim.
- Jesper (10/5): Et fantastisk Hotel - Et fantastisk Hotel. Personalet er bare super service. Fantastisk mad, som endda er billig. Kan kun anbefales 100%. Kommer helt sikkert igen.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - nice hotel for its price. good& quiet sauna. central location, easy to get from\to.
- 268yusufn (8/5): Good Stay - The good ambience is nice . The service and the staff are really good . The room looks really great and mattress quality is superb. Its bit far from the city town but rest is nice.
I love the breakfast .
- Haley (10/5): Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful - My husband and I arrived late to Ankara for a meeting at the American Embassy. We had selected this hotel the night before and were unsure, because in Ankara if the hotels aren't very expensive they are not worth even trying to stay in. However, after arriving at the hotel at 10pm, we were so presently surprised at what a great hotel. Not only is the location fantastic for the Embassy, but it is also very close to Kizilay merkezi yet far enough away to be very quiet. The interior of the hotel is very large, and while all the furniture and fabrications have a 1980s feel, they are all in great condition and very comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful and always asking if we needed anything, such as a taxi or directions. The rooms (the standard which we selected) was like a mini- apartment. Very large room, a small kitchenette, large bathroom and large TV to sit and relax. We were so happy with this hotel, and will make it our go-to hotel when in Ankara.
- Tanju (10/5): Good location and comfortable - Good location and comfortable. But the hotel need renovation for room furnitare and bathroom.
- MoneyHanger (8/5): 3 day stay - I decided to stay in this particular hotel based on its great central location. The hotel organised our transfers from the airport to the hotel for an additional fee and it was spot on. The hotel was of a very good standard with a welcoming reception area and bar just down the corridor. I stayed here on a bed and breakfast basis and the breakfast was great. This hotel has a pool too which was great for us as it was very warm during our stay.
Great service and a great hotel at a great price. Thank you
- KateOz-13 (8/5): Clean, basic, convenient location - Don't expect any 4* but the hotel is clean. No bad smell anywhere. Very friendly and polite staff. Very convenient location to the embassies. Horrible coffee for breakfast but wide varieties of cheese :)
If you have some business in that area and don't want to pay much just go for it!
- Lin320 (8/5): Friendly staff - Nice hotel, basic, clean rooms with everything you need. Hotel has a great restaurant and very friendly , helpful staff. Lovely courtyard area with swimming pool. Quiet location whilst still being central .
- 943marka (10/5): Suburb service close to US Embassy - The aesthetics and service were outstanding.
From the moment we exited the cab till our checkout, every need was met with a smile and an eagerness to help. The same level of customer service I experience at 5-star hotels. We both felt very welcome.
The room was spacious, clean and pleasing to the eye.
I would highly recommend King Hotel for anyone doing Embassy related business. It is a 5-minute walk right up the street.
- Turkche (8/5): Nice quiet hotel priced right - This is our go-to hotel when visiting Ankara. It is centrally located to where we need to go and a short cab trip to Ulus, the old part of Ankara. It is on a quiet street, clean, quiet, and the staff go out of their way to accommodate you. The staff speak English which is a plus. The outside patio and pool are nice after a long day of shopping and sight seeing. Breakfast is a tasty buffet of European-style offerings and you can request eggs fixed any way you prefer. Our room with this visit was large and included a seating area and kitchenette. The furniture was dated, but clean and well-kept. Our last two days there we noticed they were painting the rooms and moving in more stylish furniture. The reception area is large and they have a bar. We did not eat dinner at the restaurant as other restaurants are within walking distance, 5-10 minutes away.
- secretgardenkohrong (10/5): There's something about Nermin - I stayed at this hotel of fading grandeur for 2 nights in order to visit one of Ankara’s top attractions, the US Embassy.
My room was huge and had a lounge area, kitchenette and bathtub. The swimming pool was beautifully refreshing in the summer heat. The breakfast was a great spread and downtown restaurants and bars are within walking distance.
The real highlight of my stay though was the amazing staff; in particular, the front desk manager, Nermin. I had a couple of complicated requests for her, and she left me in awe of her by handling each task with the patience of Job, as well as absolute professionalism and genuine helpfulness. If I wasn’t already married I would marry this woman. If I didn’t live in a different country, I would at least ask her to be my best friend.
Yes, the hotel is a little bit dated, but it’s worth every penny to see the lovely smiles of its staff. A big high five to the HR department of King Hotel Guvenlik.
- c0den1nja42 (6/5): Good for the price - The King hotel is modest compared to the larger chain hotels in the area. My room didn't have a kitchenette. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable but not luxurious, the bathroom tub functional but a bit small, and the TV good, but a bit small. I liked that I had one thick pillow and one thin, as I prefer my pillow to be thin, and you don't typically get that in hotels. The wifi was excellent. Breakfast was buffet style with a nice assortment of fruit, breads and cheese. They would also cook eggs to order. The staff was very nice and spoke English moderately well. I never had any communication issues. The walls were thin, you could here your neighbor easily, but I never had a problem.
Overall, a fine stay, nothing to complain about and the price was great. If you're looking for glitz and glam this isn't the place, but it was quiet, functional, and never disappointed. I would definitely stay here again.
- 300suzank (6/5): Hard beds - The hotel is conveniently located near the Embassy and a nice area of town, and the staff were very accommodating. The breakfast was very good, and the lobby was comfortable for our group to gather in and share a coffee or drink at the bar. HOWEVER, the beds were totally substandard for business travel expectations.
- behrouzix (10/5): Quiet, clean and great for long stays. - I stayed in King Hotel (Guvenlik) for 5 nights and I have literally nothing to complain about! It's a great place. Very helpful staff, large and comfortable rooms with FREE WiFi, very nice back terrace and pool, gym and sauna. Plus the exchange rate at the reception was better than exchange bureaus in Kizilay.
It's about 10 minutes walk to Kizilay and it's seems to be very safe. There are a few restaurants very close, but if you go to Kizilay you'll definitely have more choices.
Hotel's restaurant is pretty nice, but I only got to use it for breakfast. Although I ordered room service several times, and the spaghetti bolognese in particular was delicious.
If I come back to Ankara, King Hotel is the place for me to stay.
- AverilN (8/5): Well hidden gem - The first thing to say was that this place is nigh on impossible to find. Even with Route Planner directions we drove around for nearly 2 hours. and stopped several times to ask directions but no joy. We knew we were in vicinity but could not get there. Eventually asked taxi driver to escort us - we were driving ourselves. Taxi drivers in Ankara only seem to know their own area, a problem we had later, but were all delightfully friendly. Hotel is on a quiet shady street and just as in the photographs. We loved it. We were only there for two nights but had no fault to find at all. Large, comfortable room with very good bathroom. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Exchange rate in hotel the same as bank which saved much time and effort. Very pleasant terrace area and attractive pool but unfortunately amazingly cold when we arrived although we tried it twice - Brits abroad ! We would definitely go back to this hotel when we return to Ankara. Have marked a 4 for restaurant as we could only judge on breakfast, our late arrival meant that unfortunately we went to bed hungry.
- SAmini67 (8/5): Quiet place - This was my first time that I stayed in this hotel. A good thing about breakfast is that you can order Omlet and Fried egg. The breakfast time is 7 to 10 and you better get up early before 8:30 AM to make sure is something left for you.
There were a few markets, restaurants and cafes nearby. So, if you like shopping, restaurants, cafes, it is better you find a hotel in Tunali Hilmi Cd (Tunali Hilmi street) but if you really need a quiet place, this hotel is the best.
Everything was clean; the staff were helpful and polite; the rooms were comfortable but the view was not good; the WiFi worked well.
- Esker4 (10/5): My Favorite Hotel in Ankara - I have stayed in at least 6-7 different hotels in Ankara over the years, but about 12 years ago a colleague recommended the King Hotel (Guvenlik), and I have never stayed anywhere else since then. The location is perfect for me, the staff are extremely helpful, the rooms are surprisingly large (and very comfortable), the wifi works well, the breakfast is great, and the price is good. I like the neighborhood, and it is an easy walk to markets and restaurants. There are a couple of restaurants very close by, and others are about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel also has a restaurant, and on nice evenings it is pleasant to sit on the back terrace. I have walked from the hotel to the Anitkabir (Atatürk memorial) and the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations; it is also easy to get a taxi at anytime. There is a taxi station just around the corner, and the hotel staff can get a taxi in front of the hotel in minutes. One year, I stayed a week and the hotel arranged for the same very nice taxi driver to take me to my conference every morning at the same time. Note that there is a sister-hotel -- King Hotel Çankaya (I stayed there once and it was fine, but I like the Güvenlik hotel the best).
- FoxTravel06 (8/5): Very good hotel in center of Ankara - A very good hotel with kind and very helpful staff. Large, clean and up to standard rooms with free WIFI on each floor, on a walking distance to several shopping streets and restaurants and at the same time in a quiet area with a view on the parliament buildings and park..
- Lucreciamott (10/5): Nice place, nice staff, goo price - This was my second stay in King Hotel and, again, it was a good experience. Rooms are big and quiet and the beds are comfortable. During my first visit I was with my 2-month-old son and they provided us with a nice cot (a real one, not a travel cot). This time I only have one complaint: the room smelled of smoke (this happened also in the Esenboga Airport Hotel, I guess non-smoking is still not so popular in Ankara). Breakfast is nice and varied and also good for lunch. The swimming pool is great if you visit in the summer.
The best is, without doubt, the staff: everybody is nice and extremely helpful and we felt like home. They also have a small library in the reception and you may exchange books if you want to.
I was there both times for business and the hotel was quite close to our working place. We used taxis to move around.
- SadieMT (8/5): quiet neighborhood... - But not convenient to public transportation and far from old section of Ankara. You are not allowed to even see the outside of the parliament even though you are directly across from the high fence. Same with embassies in area. There are pharmacies and markets nearby, but not restaurants or cafes. Hotel is clean, well kept and staff were very helpful and arranged reasonable airport transfer. Restaurant is just OK as is the breakfast.
- aaronl930 (10/5): good hotel on a good location - Great value for the price. Location is good, It is just at a 10 minute walking distance to the centre of Ankara.
Service quality was also good. Everything was clean. Overall, I was satisfied with the place and would definitely stay there in the future.
- YounesJ (10/5): A Luxurious Hotel with Excellent Location - Located just 5 minutes away from the U.S. embassy, and just next to the Turkish Parliament, King hotel Güvenlik is one of the best hotels especially for those who travel to the Ankara for official purposes and U.S. visas. The hotel is very clean, with a calm environment in one of the safest areas of the Ankara. You will see every thing that you expect from an official hotel. Rooms have heating appliances, the staff could speak in English; and the fees also are acceptable.
