• Deborah (8/5): - We were on a day trip to Cherbourg so only stayed for one night but we can highly recommend the hotel for its location and the friendliness of its staff. Our family room had everything we needed, with three beds being provided as requested. We slept very well in the comfortable beds. The bathroom was large and clean. The location is perfect and we received some excellent recommendations of places to eat. Not related to the hotel but Cherbourg itself - we expected there to be more cafes/bars open in the evening for a coffee or ice cream but everywhere appeared to close at around 10pm or earlier. We would however definitely return for a short break to Cherbourg and Hotel d'Angleterre.

• FREDERIC (8/5): Séjour dans un hôtel avec bon rapport qualité-prix - Hôtel simple bien situé en périphérie du centre-ville avec chambre calme mais juste ce qu'il faut côté confort. Ceci reste malgré tout d'un bon rapport qualité-prix. D'autre part, présence d'un personnel très prévenant et prêt à essayer de répondre à toute question afin de permettre un séjour le plus agréable possible.

J'ai réservé une chambre double afin d'avoir un grand lit (par défaut cela sélectionné 2 personnes) J'ai signalé à mon arrivée que je serais seul durant tout le séjour, car il apparaitrait qu'il y ait des tarifs différents selon le nombre d'occupants. Aucune prise en compte de ma situation, prêt à tout pour gagner quelques dizaines euros, au mépris du client c'est dommage. Mais bien entendu, c'est ni la faut de l'hôtelier, ni la faute de Hotels.com qui a été avisé...

• Jane (6/5): Very clean but - Very clean but badly in need of an over hall. I asked for a quiet room but was given a room with windows on two sides which was very noisy. It also had street lights just outside so should have had blackout curtains. The information I was give n about the time it would take to w all to the ferry was wildly off the mark. He said 15 mins but it was at least 45 if not longer, very badly lit, and altogether un friendly for pedestrians.

He even unpacked his German skills and always helped us when we needed something. A super sweet hotel with small but cosy rooms where you feel right at home in beautiful surroundings. We couldn't have asked for a better stay!

Cette personne a repondu à des appels sur son téléphone personnel au lieu de s'occuper de notre réservation. 1h au total pour s'enregistrer! 1h! Il nous facture 1 petit déjeuner, alors que nous sommes 2, et que nous n'avons de toute façon pas commandé. Chambre non ventilée, pas de détecteur de fumée, sdb moisie avec l'odeur qui va avec. Un grand regret.

• laurent (8/5): Bon séjour - Facile d'accès depuis la gare. Proche du port et du centre. Hôtel un peu vieillot niveau décoration mais franchement pas vraiment dérangeant. La chambre était agréable à séjourner. Propriétaires très sympathiques !!!

• Shona (6/5): OK for one night on way to or from ferry - Was an overnight stop for us, but we were disappointed by a very small and dingy room with a very comfy bed. We were made to feel very welcome though, and the location was ideal for a mooch about town. We were on foot, wouldn't have liked to have had to try to park car, lots of roadworks around.

Wir fanden ein sauberes Zimmer mit Doppelbett und frischem Bettzeug. Das Zimmer war klein aber ausreichend. Der Service war sehr gut. Sehr später checken und auch Sonderwünsche wurden umgesetzt.Das Badezimmer hatte eine Badewanne. Das Frühstück war französisch einfach. Das Haus braucht Renovierung vor allem die Badezimmer. Insgesamt ok.

Rapport qualité-prix au centre ville formidable. Accueil du couple gérant affable, poli et gentil. Une excellente adresse : j'y reviendrai un 3ème fois. Bravo

• J R Bell (8/5): Good Place not Lux - Working in Cherbourg for a couple of days this hotel is cheap, cheerful, clean and tidy. Handy for good priced cafes and restaurants with free on street parking - good place but not lux.

• Nicholas (10/5): 3 nights in Cherbourg-Octeville - Had to ask local where hotel was as my 4g was not working at the time but we were close and was escorted by the lady to the doorstep. Sign to hotel a little ambiguous. But breakfast was the same for all our 3 nights but it was always fresh. Roadworks outside the window cannot be blamed on the hotel. Many leaflets in the foyer on what to do but a Visit to Cite de la mer is a must.
