EMILY (8/5): - Typical 19th century inn—creaky floors, no tv’s in rooms—the owner has updated the heating & cooling system so room was comfortable. Only 1 towel per person, and gotta go downstairs for morning coffee.
Steve (4/5): - Quaint, but not functional! While the room itself was fine, the bathroom itself was behind a bifold door with only room to pivot between the shower, toilet and sink. The shower was so tiny and it took 7 minutes to get hot water! It’s also difficult to wash face or brush teeth at the tiny sink without hitting your elbow off the wall. The traffic was loud overnight and despite having the blind down to the windowsill, there was a light outside that was shining brightly all night. We only made it 1 night despite booking for 2 nights. We were miserable!

Marlee (8/5): - Booked 2 rooms. One room the deadbolt did not work and the shower curtain had mildew on the bottom. Also pedestal sink had almost no room for toiletries. Other room the toilet seat was cracked and pinched you. Left note with the desk, all they did was put duct tape on it. Also never saw anyone at the desk after we checked in, for two days. TV in common area was froze on guide, but there was no one around to ask for help.

Winona (8/5): - Overall our stay was nice! Our biggest issue was how loud our bed was. It creeked everytime you tossed or turned. And it was pretty obnoxious! Other than that it was cute and clean!

Melissa (8/5): Family wedding - The waitsfield inn was clean and comfortable. The small window in the room had no curtain so the sunlight came in to wake you up. As it was not critical to have an in room tv it would have been nice to know there was not one. Unfortunately most restaurants and bars closed relatively early it was a nice area.

Terry (10/5): - It's a small vintage New England Inn - and perfect for those that would rather have a good nights sleep and a friendly atmosphere over the sterility of a large commercial chain. No staff hovering and self check-in. A buffet breakfast of cereals, yogurt, fruit, coffee and tea. The owner upgraded me to a larger room free of charge after I had made my reservation. I will return next time I'm in the area.

We had to lug suitcases up to a second floor with many steps. There was no one available to help us and the front walk was a bit challenging with snow and ice.

Lia (10/5): Close to Sugarbush - Great place to stay for a ski weekend. Only 10-15 min from sugarbush’s Lincoln Peak. Also had complimentary breakfast from 7:30-9am. The inn is also close to many restaurants that are within walking distance. Check in and out was smooth, as my key was left for me well in advance. My only complaint is in regards to the availability of staff. I mistakenly locked myself out of the room, and we didn’t hear from the innkeeper in regards to getting another key for about 90 minutes after we initially called and left a few messages. I wished that we didn’t have to wait as long. Overall, still a pleasant stay and would definitely go back there again if o ski at sugarbush in the future.

Janine (10/5): - The Waitsfield Inn is a beautiful historic New England-style Inn/BnB. The rooms are decorated comfortably, the common areas are warm and inviting, super easy check-in, delicious breakfast (be sure to try the homemade oatmeal!) and an easy drive to ski Sugarbush and Mad River Glen. There are a few restaurants nearby as well. Our family of 4 (2 adults, 1 teen and 1 kid) stayed in one of the family rooms and although we wished we had a bigger bathroom (just a small shower stall), it was all we really needed for a couple days. The room was large, beds comfortable, and really a lovely stay. Thank you so much! We hope to be back on our next visit to the beautiful Mad River Valley!

Chelsea (8/5): Expect to feel at home - Don’t expect a typical hotel experience. Imagine coming home to visit family…you may need to help yourself to a few things and enjoy the common areas as opposed to relaxing in your own space (some rooms are just the bed and no chair or other space), but you feel at home. The breakfast is simple but with good quality options, and the property is clean and historic. There are several nice areas with comfy chairs to sit and read with electric and log fireplaces, and there are clearly posted quiet hours making for a relaxing night. A note for checkin: staff may not be present when you walk in but there is a phone number you can call or text and they will tell you what to do. They may even leave a key with a note for you. We saw some older ladies come in with big suitcases and helped them take their suitcases up to their room since no staff was on hand at the moment.

Frances (8/5): Lovely two night stay in Waitsfield Inn. - We had a lovely two night stay at The Waitsfield Inn. Our room was delightful, quaint, very clean and comfortable. The rooms downstairs were beautifully furnished and although we did not use them the games room and TV area looked great! We were a little disappointed with breakfast on both days. We came down to breakfast very early on both mornings but unfortunately there was no juice and very little bread for toasting. It would have been nice to have met our host - he did however leave us a welcome note out with our key.

They provided a continental breakfast one day was fresh brewed coffee and the the following day it was a one cup do it yourself. Quiet hours are 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. We were not greeted upon arrival only a note and key. All rooms upstairs. We were not given instructions or remote for the air and a code to get back into the hotel. Overall, nice stay but not run to my satisfaction.

marlene (6/5): Could have been better - When I arrived at 4 pm, check-in time, I had to ring repeatedly before I could get someone to come out to check me in. I had a very heavy suitcase. I am a 78 year old arthritic woman. It would have been nice if I had had help carrying my suitcase up stairs to my 2nd floor room. The bed was on stilts and I had to JUMP up into bed as if I were pole vaulting. The day I was leaving, I needed to be out by 7:55 am but there was no breakfast at the advertised time, so I had to grab coffee and a cookie when staff finally appeared at 7:42. Loved the art work and the antiques. Staff efforts could have made it a special stay but did not.

207rosemaryh (2/5): Will never go back, if you never had gone pre COVID you have no idea how bad it is now - Had been going to the Waitsfield Inn for over 30 years. Had visited with 2 different owners prior to these new owners. The experience is night and day. Prior, the food, the cleanliness and friendliness of owners was top notch. John made everything fresh, homemade gronala, bought all of his food from local farms. He made your breakfast when you sat at your table, Vicky came to the table served you fresh coffee and asked what your plans for the day were. New owner offered cold cereal and wouldn’t make a fresh pot of coffee when I asked for a second cup, he gave me an attitude and said it would be a waste of money for him???? I left the table and walked to the gas station. They knew nothing about the area, and should not be in the hospitality business. Their website is a lie. Waitsfield is an awesome town, spend the money and stay elsewhere.

Sunshine47755907803 (10/5): Friendly staff & convenient-especially for bicyclists - I was here for a bicycling weekend in June 2024 and picked the Waitsfield Inn as it is convenient to the Blueberry Lake Trails, the trails at Sugarbush and only 35-40 minutes from the Lemoille Valley Rail Trail parking lot in Morrisville (this trail is fantastic!). The staff (especially Steve) were very friendly, full of tips/advice for cycling and interested in my cycling experience. The inn is an old building and as such there are a few quirks. One morning it took a few minutes for the water in the shower to get hot (but was fine after a few minutes), The bed was comfortable and I slept well every night. The Inn is situated right on Route 100 and is close to several minimarkets/gas stations and a full-size grocery to get snacks /supplies for riding. There is an ATM right across the street and a bike shop about 1/4 mile away. Note for cyclists: Waitsfield traffic is busy at peak hours and I would suggest road cyclists keep this in mind, and suggest starting a road bike ride several miles south of town (if I was riding a road bike in Waitsfield, this is what i would do). Overall a very convenient base for cycling.
Anouk (10/5): - Stayed here for a wedding. I also love trail running, and was super happy to find good trails in the area. Lovely stay, comfy beds, and good coffee and breakfast. It felt like 'home'. Definitely will come back as there is so much to explore in the area!
Peter (10/5): Peaceful stay - It’s an old inn that has been renovated over the years and still has a country small town feel. The Inn is centrally located in the town so short walks to places to eat or drink are close. The staff and owner are very friendly. My wife and I also enjoyed the farmers market that is on Saturdays right across the street from the Inn.
Anna (10/5): Perfect weekend getaway - We could not be happier with our stay at Waitsfield Inn in Warren, VT. The inn itself was incredibly charming and we loved our host Steve. The room was comfortable and Steve was very accommodating with our delayed arrival, and breakfast in the morning. We chose this spot because it was right next to the hiking trail to Mount Abe and Lincoln Peak and Mount Ellen (17min drive). But it was the proximity to Warren that was a special treat-- walking distance to the brewery and one of the best ice cream (creamy) shops I've ever been to. The Warren waterfall was beautiful and a perfect way to end the trip before driving back to NYC.

Marion (8/5): - Property was in a quaint old building, with public sitting areas, coffee room and decent breakfast. Rooms are very rustic, small but have character. No phones or TVs in individual rooms, but one large TV in common area. Innkeeper was friendly and accommodating. Closeness to ski area was about 4 miles, some restaurants close by plus supermarket across the street. Price / value ratio was good and breakfast included.
Freedom55942202931 (2/5): STAY AWAY! - I usually never write reviews but feel I have to warn people about this place. It is THE WORST inn I have ever stayed at. It deserves 0 stars. The "breakfast" is just slices of bread and cold cereal, like the continental breakfast you would get at a motel. And the "host" is very unwelcoming, if he is even ever around. Do yourself a favor and find a nicer place to stay than the Waitsfield Inn (which I'm sure will be very easy!) I sincerely hope this review helps save you from wasting your money and precious vacation time. Harold
Elizabeth (10/5): Great place!! - What a wonderful place to stay! It was very clean, Great amenities, beautifully restored old house, including a great heating system!! The continental breakfast was an added bonus!
Rebecca (2/5): - We left a night early so we would not have to spend another night at the Waitsfield Inn! It was extremely noisy and the mattress should’ve been replaced a long time ago. While the innkeeper receives high marks for letting us check in the empty inn early to take a business meeting via Zoom, it seems everyone arrived after myself and my children went to bed. We were woken up a number of different times by people checking in and stomping up the stairs. In fact, the innkeeper agreed telling me that guests arrived loudly at 11pm, and another group that loudly climbed the stairs around midnight. They were talking loudly long after that. He said he was going to suggest a curfew to the owner. I let them know that the double bed is badly worn, particularly on the right side near the desk, and is generally lumpy. The blind on the left doesn’t work, and the outlets by the desk and standing lamp do not work. I don’t remember the last time that I slept that poorly, getting maybe 1.5 hours of sleep in total. We were forced to shorten our trip. I asked the owner if he would refund the money paid for the night that we were not staying. (I did not ask for both nights.) He said that they don’t give refunds.
Edward (6/5): - The bathroom was way too small and cramped. This is called a Bed and Breakfast. Unless that means something else now this was not a B&B, i.e.. there was no cooked breakfast. Some waffles and oatmeal was all that was cooked. There was what amounted to a continental breakfast, the same you might get at a hotel.

Steve (8/5): - Convenient location, in town and only 10-15mins from Sugarbush ski area. Continental Breakfast decent. Inn has a couple of common areas, so could be good for a large group. Host was friendly and accomodating.
John (10/5): Waitsfield Inn is a nice place to stay - The place was nicely located and was comfortable and warm. It is a short ride to Mt. Ellen for skiing which is great. This will be the last time I use Hotels.com to book though. The invoice I was given at the hotel was less expensive than what I paid and I was supposed to be using free days I have earned. I don't like being scammed.

466noellel (10/5): The Best Ski Trip Experience! - I absolutely adored staying at the Waitsfield Inn. The owner was friendly and met us every morning with fresh breakfast and coffee. He even sent us with snacks for our days on the slopes of Sugarbush (which is a quick 10 min drive from here). The room was quaint but very clean. Beautiful rustic charm. The common space living room has a flatscreen TV, shuffleboard, books, and board games. If you are looking for a charming place that has the Vermont feel, stay here! Very friendly, accommodating, and charming!
travelita (10/5): The Inn Experience - I'll admit I'm being a little generous with my review but I found this place so convenient, welcoming, and comfortable. The host made such a genuine effort to make us comfortable, asking about the breakfast options or if we needed anything, and he genuinely seemed to enjoy chatting and it just felt like more of an experience than staying at the Best Western or whatever. I was a little early for check in and wasn't sure which door to enter so I called the hotel and the phone picked up immediately. Someone friendly immediately picked up the phone and told me where to go. When I checked in I was given a tour of the whole place. There's a rec room with a fireplace and table shuffleboard and couches, several cozy reading areas, and several rooms with tables and chairs. Our room was very nice, spacious, and sunny. I found it a quiet place to sleep. It took a little time to heat up when we arrived. Mornings were the best time to shower, we couldn't get the hot water going in the evenings and it took a while to heat up anytime. Another slightly off note was that the entrance smelled like a skunk, I'm going to assume that was a fluke and that they cleared that up after we left. I have never stayed at an inn before but I found this place really charming and it was convenient that there was a communal fridge, microwave, water, coffee, and tea at all times. Some of the breakfast items like breads and fruit and juice were out all day so I think you could have had them whenever you wanted, which helped with the comfortable and generous vibe of the place. We brought in chinese food one night from a good (even by NYC standards) takeout place nearby and ate at the tables and then saved our leftovers in the fridge. This would be a great place to book with friends and then hang out in the common areas at night. 10 minutes to the slopes.
Wayne (8/5): - I was here for one night prior to Christmas for a friends memorial service. I came in early and was allowed to check in. The room was small but very clean and did not have the stuffiness you would expect in an old house during winter. The bed was comfortable and a modern heating unit kept the room as I like it. 2 things I noticed. 1) there was no television in the room. Thats OK for me because I use an IPAD but there was no information regarding the WiFi in the hotel.(front desk) in fact there was no information at all about the check out time, facilities,area dining or activities. Some information in the room would be helpful. 2) and this is maybe just one of those things,but at 230AM the man next door to me was snoring so loud it woke me up. Not a lot of insulation between our rooms. I had earplugs so I was able to get some sleep. It seemed like the Inn was empty so why put people next door to each other if noise is an issue. Breakfast was, "eh", Keurig, no fresh coffee, packaged pastries,etc. I understand the ski areas were all closed but if you are offering breakfast try a little harder. I just needed a good cup of coffee before leaving. Mr. Coffee and an insulated carafe would work.For my purposes this Inn worked out well. It was middle of the road price wise compared to other places in the valley, and it wasn't any more or less than what I expected. I'm sure there is a different vibe when the ski areas are open and the Inn is full. I'd stay again for 1-2 nights.
William (10/5): - The property is fantastic! The owners are great and the breakfast is super. There are many options for rooms, we stayed in the Milton which was perfect and he renovations that have been done are great. Location could not be better as it's so close to Sugarbush and Mad River Glen and just a stone's throw from Lawson's Finest (Sip o Sunshine)
Stephanie (10/5): - The owner Frank was terrific. He only purchased the property 2 years ago and has done a lot to maintain the unique charm and decor. He made us the best waffles I’ve ever had with walnuts, chia seeds, blueberries, and bananas. He also provided additional high quality organic options including for breakfast including organic coffee. It’s affordable and we are definitely going back.
