Guest Reviews
- jennifer (10/5): - Nice location. Nice accommodations.
- Joseph (10/5): - Staff was exceptionally helpful when our converter shorted the electricity in our room.
Place has a nice vibe.
Must be safe in the area since key was left on counter.
Couple of nice bars nearby.
- Dale (8/5): Short but nice stay. - We just stayed one night as we had a layover. We look for a hotel close to the airport to reduce the cost of transport. This was about 10min from the airport but still cost $47cdn. There was no front desk staff but our paperwork and key we at the front desk waiting for us. We had a nice breakfast before we left back to the airport.
- Joseph (8/5): - This was an easy, no frills spot to stay a night ahead of our flight out of Keflavik. Check in and check out we're all self-serve and easy.
- Breanne (6/5): - Hotel Jazz was an interesting one - it served the purpose of being an airport hotel the night before we left. It was clean, but very bare bones. Check in and checkout were self service so we literally didn’t see another human on the premises (staff or guest) the overnight we were there. It was weird feeling. Free parking, close to the airport.
- Suma (10/5): - cold breakfast was such a bummer.
- Allison (10/5): - The exterior of Hotel Jazz honestly had me wondering if I’d made a mistake in booking here to have proximity to KEF airport for my early flight. But the inside was clean and professional looking, with the things we needed (mini-fridge, desk, comfortable clean beds, an elevator). This hotel does not have microwaves in the rooms, fyi.
- Lourdes (8/5): - It was self serve from check in to the breakfast. All clean and well set up. Parking was limited when we got there since the town had a festival going on.
- Roy (8/5): - Comfortable enough but a small room and quite expensive for what it was. Not a huge amount of choice if you need to stay close to the airport for an early morning flight but Hotel Jazz is one of the viable options.
- Irene (6/5): - Reasonable budget hotel. Very limited breakfast.
- James (10/5): - Keys and instructions left on the counter. Grab and go, very easy.
- jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjg (10/5): Great overnight stay before early flight - We didn't see a single person (including staff) during our stay but the keycard was left out for us so no issue. The room was lovely and clean with a kettle (v. important) and wet room. There is free parking there and it's a very short drive to the airport.
- Mandy (8/5): - The reason we chose the hotel bc it closed to the airport. But we did find the scenic pretty good.
- Adam (2/5): - unhelpful owners
Review:
We discovered visible mold in our hotel room, which posed a serious health risk to our family, including our toddler. The on-site staff did their best in the moment and moved us to another room, but they explained they couldn’t help further. The real issue is with the owners, who have ignored my request for a refund and shown no concern for guest health or safety.
It’s unacceptable that a property would knowingly place guests in unsafe conditions and then refuse to take responsibility afterwards. Sadly, while the front desk staff tried to assist, the lack of accountability from management and ownership means I cannot recommend this hotel.
- lactancia (10/5): An excellent stay - This cozy hotel is located in the centre of town within walking distance to sights and restaurants. Our room, although not overly large, was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. A continental style breakfast was included that provided a number of options. The main point of excellence for us was the staff. Even though self check-in begins at 4pm we were allowed early access to our room. This was really appreciated as we arrived from a cruise around 10am. We were helped with booking a taxi for the following afternoon, given guidance on local sights and restaurants and allowed to make a coffee even though the breakfast time was over. The following morning as it was overcast with showers we were lent umbrellas and were invited to sit in the breakfast room until we left for the airport. Our luggage was stored.
Thanks to the assistance from a lovely and very accommodating woman our stay was special.
- Julie (6/5): - While the room itself was small, but adequate, the exterior left something to be desired, and it didn’t even look like a hotel. The area itself was probably safe, but was tucked in between apartment buildings. With no one manning the front desk with a “self check-in” situation, it was unwelcoming from that perspective. We almost felt uncomfortable at first staying there. That being said, the room was fine for a 1-night stay before airport departure. Breakfast was self-serve, and was adequate, with items in the fridge that could be pulled out. A cappuccino machine was a nice touch.
- Kevin (6/5): - Had a little bit of what look liked black mold in the corner of a wall and ceiling. Shower would just barely drain. We had standing water in the bathroom after a couple of showers. Was a handy location for the airport and was within walking distance to good food and an Irish pub.
- Radu (4/5): Adequate but overpriced - The room was ridiculously small for the price charged (almost $400 / night). While the 3 twin beds and bathroom were adequate, there value / price relationship is not in line with other places we stayed at in the greater Reykjavik area.
- Nirav (10/5): - Staff is at their best always. Very helpful and accommodating. Fantastic breakfast and very conveniently located property.
- E2284JMmichellec (10/5): Clean, simple hotel - less than 10 minutes from airport - We stayed here on our last night in Iceland to make it to airport for early morning flight. It is a very simple hotel, no frills - not even front desk staff.
But it was hands down the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in! It is self check-in, easy to find and conveniently within walking distance of food and the boardwalk. The rooms are small, but if you are looking for a simple place to sleep, this is it.
Breakfast is self-serve and again simple, but perfect for a quick start to day.
All in all, it was exactly what we were looking for, and again I have to stress it was so clean! Room was spotless, carpets in hall seem very new or well-maintained. Would definitely recommend!
- Michelle (10/5): - We stayed here for the night before our early flight home to the states. It was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in! No frills, but we weren't looking for any. Breakfast was self-serve, so we were able to eat early before heading to airport. Would definitely recommend this to those doing a night in Keflavík on one end of their trip. I probably wouldn't want to stay more than a night as the rooms are just big enough for the beds.
- Rodrigo (10/5): - It was located in a secluded area close to Main Street..close by all restaurants & shopping
- Anne (6/5): - Pros: 1) Easy check-in and check-out—completely contactless, 2) Room was clean and fine for a short stay: comfy beds, mini fridge, coffee maker, TV, and private bathroom, 3) Close to the airport and a gas station, which made returning the rental car convenient, 4) We parked on the street for free and didn’t get a ticket (the small hotel lot was full)
Cons: 1) Absolutely no staff presence during our stay, which could be an issue for some travelers, 2) Room wasn’t luxurious (functional but basic)...a bit pricey for what was offered.
Overall: Not a memorable stay, but it got the job done for one night near the airport. Would only recommend for travelers who are low-maintenance and want something purely practical.
- Heinz (10/5): - Overall the hotel has a modern feel. Rooms are clean and spacious.
- pirVR (2/5): 2-star hotel pretending to be 4-star - The hotel is listed as 4-star with lots of great reviews. I’m sorry to say the hotel falls quite short. I’d say 2 star at the most.
The good: Location is very near the airport but still no airport noise. Checkin desk has a tip jar with money - even though front desk is not manned and the front door doesn’t seem to lock - so seems like safe area? Parking was free in front of hotel.
The bad: the smell, the overpowering floral scent was so strong it gave me a headache. we had to leave our room door and windows open for an hour to air it out. Beds were hard and pillows were smelly (yuck). There was yelling and noises through the night from the street. Front desk was unmanned so we just picked up our room keys - but no one to assist. Overall room was shabby with cheap lamps and scuffed furniture. Again - nothing near 4 star expectations.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quiet, no frills, comfortable one-night stay - We checked in late so there was no one at the desk but our room key was laid out on the desk with basic instructions. It was a simple room, comfortable, quiet, and easy to access.
- Anthony (8/5): - Simple, clean and easily accessible, met our needs for a quick overnight stay.
- Keely (8/5): Perfect over no get for early flight - Quick overnight enroute to airport. Perfect for an overnight. Easy parking and checkin. Close to airport.
- Sarah (8/5): - Property was
- Ernest (8/5): - This was a great convenient choice near the airport and some good dining options nearby. It was very pricey
- Juan (10/5): - Limited breakfast options, but otherwise very, very good experience.
- Michaelaack (8/5): Good stop after flight - Key was ready upon late arrival.
We were not sure where to park as we didn’t get directions. Apparently parking is plentiful so that was fine.
Room very clean, and comfortable bed.
No soap in shower which was too bad.
Breakfast is nice, typical and nice late machine
- radekh775 (10/5): Hotel ideální pro brzké odlety a pozdní přílety / Its location is ideal for travelers.
Děkujeme a přejeme mnoho podnikatelských i životních úspěchů.

Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy the hotel very much.
We finally arrived around 23:00, before we could shower, it was midnight and we had to get up at 04:00 to pack, clean up and return the car, get a ride to the airport and comfortably catch the flight at 07:20.
We didn't use the breakfast, although it was announced that it was available even so early in the morning (but we weren't hungry so early in the morning and the security check at the airport would also be against leaving it with us). Even so, the hotel made a pleasant impression on us.
Its location is ideal for travelers.
Thank you and we wish you much success in business and life.

Nenapadá mě asi vážně nic, co by nutně bylo potřeba negativně vyzdvihnout.
I can't think of anything that would need to be highlighted negatively.
- Ernst (4/5): - The hotel has the charm of a run down hostel. There is an unpleasant smell throughout the entire place. Our room smelled of old cigarette smoke and there is no staff readily available. We were lucky to run into a housekeeper who was able to switch our room due to the terrible smell. We had only hand soap, no shower gel or shampoo. The breakfast is basic. Definitely not worth the price. Stay somewhere else if you can.
- Two Rivers (10/5): - Great location with a walk to the ocean. Quiet and clean. Good breakfast
- Delores (10/5): Comfortable stay at Hotel Jazz - Quiet, clean, comfy beds and great location. clean. I didn’t use the breakfast option. Lots of hot water & good water pressure in shower. Access to walkway along the water is really close. Was able to see the water from my room. There is no onsite restaurant but it’s walking distance to great restaurants & pubs. I only stayed one night but would stay again.
- Judy (8/5): - Staff very helpful
- Camilla (10/5): - Staff was wonderful, clean room and comfortable bed. Would stay here again!
- Ana De (8/5): - i like the place .
- Jerry (10/5): - The hotel isn't fancy, but it was perfect for me! My room had a view of the ocean, which was also nice.
The best thing for me personally though was being allowed to check in 2 hours early. It was MUCH appreciated, thanks! 🙂
- Ora (6/5): - The room was small and warm. The window faced the outdoor entryway and designated smoking area. We had to close the window to cut down on the sound of people talking as they entered and exited and smoked. Also to keep the smoke from entering the window. Each day, we had to drive to Reykjavík for more activities. It is conveniently located for a simple overnight near Keflavík airport. Restaurants and convenience stores are nearby.
- Donald (8/5): - Very quiet. Staff accomodating.
- Kathryn (8/5): Nice Hotel But No Service - The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the hotel was quiet. The bathroom fan does not do its job, so the room was very stuffy and towels did not dry. Luckily, ours had a desk fan to help with the air temperature in the room. A friends did not.
Hotels.com said they had a free continental breakfast, but when we arrived it said No Breakfast hand written on the check in sheet. There was a wonderful cafe, down the road. Best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had and priced well.
Everything was self check in and out at the Hotel. No one was around to ask questions to or provide any services.
- O69RDjamesh (10/5): Close to Keflavík Airport - I would describe Hotel Jazz as excellent in the category of a no-frills self-service hotel. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The breakfast was more than adequate to get us going for the day. This was the perfect place to stay in close proximity to the Keflavík Airport considering our 4:30am wake up time for our early morning flight.
- Julie (10/5): - Clean and comfortable, just right for an overnight stay. About a 10 minute taxi ride to the airport.
- Amanpalsingh (10/5): - Good basic hotel reasonably prices
- Gurjinder (10/5): - Excellent
- Tom (8/5): - The location was very good. It was close to central part of town to shop's and restaurants. Our need in choosing this property was ease of airport closeness.
- Tommie (10/5): - Nice place to stay close to the water and east to get to. Everything is self check in. No host at the counter.
- Kelly (8/5): Good Choice - This was a great place to stay our last night, before heading to the airport in the morning. Clean & quiet.
- Hande (10/5): - Great small hotel by the water in Keflavík, close to the airport. Clean, nice breakfast and friendly staff.
- C2014travel (8/5): Hotel Jazz May 2025 - Conveniently located near Keflavik airport. On arrival, check in with a code - paperwork already waiting for you. Room was a reasonable size with shower, toilet and sink including soap/shower gel. Ideal for a one night stay. In room - Kettle with cups including tea and coffee.
Beds were comfortable.
Wooden floor so if people leaving early or arrive late you can hear them moving around, otherwise a quiet hotel.
We did not stay for breakfast so can not comment.
Very pleasant stay, would recommend.
Just for the owner as nobody was around to mention - the light above sink appears to not work and the fan noise in the bathroom - very noisy when turned on. Would be good to check if can be repaired.
- John Edward (8/5): - Enjoyable stay although beds were very firm. Confusion over breakfast. Confirmation said we had breakfast yet on checkb in it said no breakfast. Shops in walking distance. We had a nice sea view from room 105
- Jan (8/5): - Great easy parking, clean room. But I got locked in bathroom for about 25 min. I was not able to open the glas door from inside. My husband went downstairs to get help but nobody came. We got a screwdriver to try to open the door. Did not work. After about 25 min with a lot of moving and pushing the lock finally moved. Bad experience.
- Athol (10/5): Great stay ! - Wonderful boutique hotel with super helpful owner, Kalli. Location is central, close to many restaurants and the beds were very comfortable. Safe and fridge in room as well !
- Misaki (10/5): - The owner is so nice.
The location is so easy to get super market.
- Imee C (6/5): - We were not a fan of the self check-in. Our key card didn't work. We had to return to the reception desk to phone a member of staff, who instructed us to phone a different member of staff. Our room had a funky smell, though it was clean. Convenient for our early morning departure from Keflavik. Wouldn't stay here if it weren't out of necessity.
- Yasuhiro (8/5): - It was clean comfortable enough. Shower provides a lot of hot water, but it was a little difficult to control the temperature. I wish it had shampoo available. Breakfast is simple but good enough for a couple of days stay. And it was quite nice to be able to have it after 4AM. Speaking of location, it is very convenient because 24/7 market is nearby.
- Amina (8/5): - There were a few touristy sites as well as restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance. Check in was easy. The hotel was clean, warm and comfortable and everything was straightforward and simple.
- Liliana (10/5): - Wonderful small hotel. Easy parking and check in. Wonderful staff and the breakfast was really great! Everything was fresh and neatly displayed.
- Wanda (10/5): - Not well marked for property and hard to find entrance
- Patricia (8/5): - Room was small and smelled initially. We were able to air it out. Bed was very comfortable. Expedia should include hotel email address on reservation confirmation. I had to find it by other means.
- John (6/5): - This hotel seems to be over rated on Expedia. Room was OK, a little small, compared to others. The breakfast was not nearly as good or have the variety we have come to expect. It seems that hotel rooms near the airport and in Reykjavík are smaller with smaller breakfast and not as nice as same price rooms throughout Iceland.
- Xingyu (6/5): - The floor was sticky. I wanted to take a shower before catching my flight, but the shower system was broken, and I gave up after tossing around for a while and not being able to open it.
- cware0571 (10/5): Definitely stay here! - I can't say enough about this hotel!! It was cute, quiet, and comfortable!! It was my first time in Iceland from the USA and the staff made me feel welcome!! Breakfast was amazing (open 4am-10am)! If I come back to Iceland I will stay here again!
- Guillermo (10/5): - Small hotel located in housing neighborhood. Main entrance is on the side, not clearly marked and difficult to find during night hours. No one on front desk, although all room keys were laid out for self-pickup. However, room was excellent, everything was new and clean. So, just a little inconvenient to arrive and check-in. But overall a good place to crash, sleep, and go.
- TokolosheMike (6/5): Hotel close to airport - Even though close to sea it seems to be located in a bit of a seedy area (but as we stayed here simpky for the night to get to airport wuickly early morning, we werent fsmiliar with the town).
Rooms are clean and fancy. Except lighting in rooms is not adequate (but maybe thats for ambience).
Front entrance is dark at night as no lights outside.
Adv: close to airport
Expensive for such hotel
- Amanda (10/5): Quiet little hotel - It was quaint and quiet. Our beds were made daily and we got clean towels. The bathroom doors are clear frosted glass that leave little to the imagination so if youre traveling with friends keep that in mind. Id definstely use them again.
- edgarc983 (8/5): Awesome for a quick stop - Conveniently located near the airport with free parking available nearby, making it a good option for a stay before or after a flight. The bed was comfortable, and the room was cleaned regularly. However, the breakfast was disappointing, and there was an unpleasant smell throughout the property
- Cynthia (6/5): - I don't want to say anything bad, there is nothing great. I needed a hotel to stay over night due to flight changes and picked this one due to the ratings. I was not comfortable walking around the area and I walk all over the world from my hotel. My taxi driver did not know where to go, I had to give him directions. The bed was very comfortable, the room was large and the view out my window of the ocean were the pluses.
- Mindy (4/5): - Location was great, but the floor was sticky and the room smelled bad.
- debby (8/5): - We had a short over night stay. Website says airport transfers available. They we not. Taxi from airport was $35. The light by the sink was not working, and there was major dust under the bed. Speaking of the bed, the mattress was very firm. Breakfast was included, which was self service. All cold items, very basic. I would probably not stay there again
- Jessica (4/5): - Easy self check in and great self serve breakfast. Convenient location for earl flight out. Poorly maintained property. Unable to cool room down after thermostat had been turned up prior to our arrival.
- David (2/5): - Staff wasn't there it's fend for yourself. Our window kept flying open middle of the night because the winds were so strong and the window latch was broken off. Temperature out was 3° c and there was nobody on duty to get help. The bathroom floor was soaked every time you would take a shower because the floor sloped away from the drain.
- tanyahI6587RZ (10/5): Comfortable room within close distance to airport - We arrived in Keflavik after more than 27 hours flying from South Australia and looking forward to a good night's sleep. The hotel was only a short drive from the airport. The bedroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. My room overlooked the ocean. There were tea and coffee making facilities with a good range of tea and coffee. The shower was hot and the bathroom floor was heated. I am happy that we are also booked in there the night before leaving Iceland.
- GKonthego (2/5): Stay far away. - There is nobody on site to address problems and we had many. First the window latch is missing so the wind keeps sucking the window open and the cold wind pours in. The bathroom floor has a long crack that appears wet all the time. And of course the room is cold even with the provided space heater. I should note it is 3 degrees C outside. I only wish I could attach audio so you could hear the window rattling. I hope it doesn't fly out of the frame. I certainly can't sleep.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Thank you but, nah… - I hate to be a downer, but I’m really disappointed.
The Bad.
1. The sheets weren’t replaced, I found a lot of hair from other people on mine and they weren’t fresh.
2. No staff upon arrival.
3. Dirty shower
4. “Not allowed” to open the window and circulate the air in my room.
5. Cheapest sheets ever.
6. Cheapest towels.
The Good.
1. Very well located.
2. Quiet.
3. Good mattress (not great).
4. Electric plugs close to bed.
5. Warm shower.
Conclusion.
Too expensive for what it offers, not staying here again.
- Alan (8/5): - Good location. Room very small
- Cheryl (10/5): - Hotel Jazz is amazing. Great location, central to all restaurants, shopping and water. We loved the self service check in , check out. Free parking out front of the hotel, and the free breakfast was great for an early morning airport departure. We would stay here again!
- Amanda (6/5): - Hotel was fine for an overnight stay before our flight. The shower was pretty gross in the corners and we wore sandals to shower. There was also a strange smell that I was able to get out. Overall fine for one night but would not recommended
- Thomas (8/5): - It was a nice place relatively close to the airport, if you need a one night stay then it’s good. The only issue we had was the shower drain seemed to be plugged or slowly draining, other than that it was good!
- Thomas (6/5): - I was surprised to see a hotel with no staff anywhere. Upon arrival I went in to the front desk to find a basket of notes with names and room keys attached. I found my name and saw my room number but had no idea where it was, I found it after a few minuites of walking around and opened the door to find a completely blackened room (no light) I fumbeled around and found the light switch but it wasn't working. It was so dark I had to use my phone flashlight to see and got to the window and opened the curtains, finally some light. The I discovered you have to insert the room key into the wall switch for electricity to work. The room is small and clean and the bathroom was nice and clean with a nice shower. The window was broken and wouldn't shut properly. The bed was two twin bed pushed together and were comfortable. The breakfast was decent but there are a lot of other choices in the area so if I did it again I would not get the breakfast. It was all self serve again with no staff it seemed like a ghost hotel I would stay here again if I had to but I'd rather not. Nothing really bad to say except no staff anywhere and they have a phone on the counter to call if you need something but several attempts to call and never an answer.
- Cheryl (8/5): - The room was very clean and quiet, and check in was as described. The hotel is quite close to the shoreline. There are no amenities to the hotel, though, so it's quite expensive in that context. I chose this because it was close to the airport, though the cab was nonetheless still quite expensive.
- Candace (10/5): Ez - Checking in was easy just pick up key and go
- Cameron (8/5): - It was a very safe, comfortable stay.
- Alison (10/5): - Liked the location and breakfast…would have liked yogurt/skyr. Nice place to relax!!
- Anthony (2/5): - Bathroom had no soap for the shower. Nobody was around staffing the place to ask for anything.
- Howard (8/5): - The staff helped me
- Meghan (4/5): - The property was run down and the floors were sticky in our room. The linens appeared to have blood stains on them.
- Tim (6/5): - No staff on site hence the score on staff and service. Would be nice to have someone on site to respond to queries.
- Fleming (8/5): - It’s nice small hotel with out reception but staff is one phone call away. Very close
To the airport
- Amelia (8/5): - Staff was hard to contact when needed
- Bill (4/5): - If it were a $100 airport hotel, I could accept it. But for $225, they need to step up a bit. Toilet seat was falling off the toilet. Shower floor was squishy - felt like it hadn’t been washed in weeks. Shower curtains were moldy. You could hear people walking up & down the stairs all night.
Room was spacious. Beds were comfortable. But at this price point, I expect more.
- Chasen (8/5): Not bad for one night - Room was simple but couldn't complain. Only stayed the night and it was a good location. Not too far from the airport. Too far to walk though. Self check in.
- Janna (8/5): - Good location. When staff were on-site, they were super friendly and accommodating.
- Guilia8 (4/5): Noisy and unclean - We stayed for one night and wished we stayed somewhere else. There is absolutely nobody at any time to look after guests who therefore arrive at all times and are extremely noisy. There was a party going on at 1:00 AM. The floor was sticky and when trying to pass a wet wipe it was all dirty. The windows dirty (on the inside) and the shower mouldy. Bedside lamp was broken. Outside looks run down. Convenient for the airport.
- Brook (10/5): - Great rooms and breakfast. We never saw any staff members, but had no trouble checking in or checking out. Short easy drive to the airport.
- Casey (6/5): Good hotel - This hotel had an interesting check in process, with every room key on the front desk and you just pick up your key and go!?! The lobby, hallways and rooms were clean. The mattress was hard, but very comfortable for us, but may be too hard if you like soft mattresses. Our refrigerator did not work, so we drank warm beers. The location of the hotel is good, close to many food options and a good view of the ocean. I would stay here again.
- Carey (10/5): - A great hotel for a night while waiting for a morning flight. A nice seaside walk behind the hotel and a few places to get supper nearby.
- charliegjose (6/5): Okay stay, absent customer service - We tried to cancel our booking the entire week before but emails were never answered and no one ever picked up the phone when we dialed the phone number on file. For the entire week. Ended up staying there and it was an adequate accommodation near the airport.
