- Paul (8/5): Septuagenarians on a road trip - Only over nighted on a road trip with wife and small dog on lodge. Accommodated need for mini fridge for meds. No microwave. Clean, comfortable, friendly, would definitely stay for a longer respite. Onsite dinner buffet was good and reasonable price.

- Angela (10/5): - We were in town for a family reunion staying in one of the two bedroom cottages. Our cottage was clean, and stocked. The only thing missing was an extra blanket. We enjoyed our stay and just wish the weather would have been better to explore! We plan to return for another visit!

- Elaine (4/5): If you staying overnight it would be ok but not a - The room had no microwave, no fridge, the pool was closed you couldn't go to the beach we did play putt putt but their was grass all over the corse the bright side the staff was great very friendly help you out with what ever they could. Our room had an electrical problem we would have to press the no fault switch 5or6 times while we were their every time you turned tv on you had to go un the tv press a button and hold it to ge it back on line it just wasnt the best trip for the money i payed for the room

- Nancy (6/5): - The rooms were very outdated. Worst of all is there was no mini fridge or microwave, so you had to go out for all meals. We were there over a holiday weekend. The dining room was open for all meals and the food was good, but you could not order one or two items from the menu. The wait staff were friendly. The pool looked well maintained but we did not get the opportunity to try it out.

Always responded questions through text messages also which was awesome ! Beds were a bit hard but bedding and pillows great . - Allan (10/5): Great getaway for couples! - Weekend stay didn't disappoint! Great location near the Rough River Dam, with a view from our room that was absolutely beautiful. Check-in was fast, and the both the lodge and room were clean. A highlight was an American Eagle flying by the lodge during our morning coffee on the balcony. We will definitely be back!

- Tracy (8/5): - I have never stayed before, but had a pleasant experience. Check-in was very easy and the staff was friendly. The kids were really excited to go down to the beach, which was closed so we had to find a different one which wasn’t nearly as nice. But that’s not the lodge’s fault. Our key didn’t work when we got back to the room late at night, but was a simple fix to go have it reactivated ( I took great pains to keep it separate from keys and phone like they suggested at check-in). Breakfast was great, although they didn’t have any fruit options or pancakes/waffles. They did have French toast sticks, but my kiddos were picky. The stairs were out of order as they needed to be repaired in one area, so that made parking a bit tricky, but we just moved the car and used the hill instead, not too bad. I was expecting a minifridge in the room, I did not check b4 hand so that’s on me, I would just think it would be there since so many places have them these days. Overall we would stay again!

There are very few dining options anywhere within 5 miles. If you are staying more than 1 night, stop at the desk for extra coffee packs if you are a coffee drinker 😊

I liked seeing the small planes on the property. The main thing I didn’t like was that it was so far from any activities I wanted to go to or any other activity options. Also the blinking light and buzzing from the Wi-Fi unit between the beds was disturbing.

My family was not really happy with the breakfast food, for the price. They said the food was bland. The staff was friendly and courteous. Overall, I really enjoyed the resort.

- Johnathon (10/5): A great getaway - Nice clean room with a great view of the lake. Meals are only available on the weekends so be ready for that and meals are not included with the room. The meals were delicious.
- Crystal (6/5): - The property is very nice however very outdated. Not very clean bedding was old and had stink bugs in it granted it’s in the woods. The bedding felt dirty probably because it’s 100 years old. The couch and sitting chairs were cut and ripped just felt dirty not clean. Would be a great place if they spent just a little money on updating it and making sure their sheets were clean. There were hairs on the sheets that looked like someone had just slept in there.

There was a broiler pan and another pan in the oven that were dirty and gross. At night it sounded like an animal was scratching from inside the wall. The next morning I walked around outside and saw a big hole at the roof. It’s probably squirrels bedding down for the winter. We were in cottage 213. I love staying at state parks, but this one needs some updates and repairs.

- kathryn (10/5): - This was a wonderful find. It's beautiful with activities for just about anyone. The room was not large but had a deck off the room that was peaceful and overlooked the lake. Like many resort, there was no microwave or minifridge in the room, which I prefer. Also, at this time, only the lodge has wifi, the rooms will have it at some time in the future. The staff was accommadating and friendly. Pet friendly!

- Oksana (10/5): - It was a great time at the Rough River Dam State Resort Park! We had a party of 7 families (3 were in the hotel, and 3 were in cabins). Very friendly staff, super clean and nice area, great marina with easy to rent pontoons. Beautiful nature and trail alone the lake. Only a couple comments for improvement: would be nice to have more equipment in cabins kitchen, and would be great to have the microwaves in hotel rooms.

The dining facility has the best food and service that I have had in a very long time. The entire resort is clean and very well maintained. This was one of the best experiences. I will be returning in the future.

I have never stayed in a cottage/cabin that had body wash, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers in the shower and a small black towel for make-up removal. The staff went out of their way to help with anything we needed.

Restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday as well as restaurants in the area ( June ). That was a little rough. Had to drive 15 miles to get to Leitchfield for meals on those two days.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Step out of the fast lane for a weekend - It's not the Ritz.... but it is clean, comfortable and offers a peace and serenity you won't find in other hotels. It is a nice place to unwind, go for a hike and take in some good food in the lodge cafeteria.
- Tina (10/5): Family trip with grandkids, Labor Day weekend - Family trip with grandkids and 2 little dogs was amazing. We really enjoyed ourselves, and had fun making memories, making smores with a camp fire, cook out, swimming at the beach and our cottage was just prefect.
