- Iuliia (8/5): - A nice and interesting place to stay with a unique atmosphere. Overall, everything was good and we had a pleasant experience.the air conditioner didn’t work very well, which made it a bit uncomfortable at times. - Ian (3/5): Ian Grey - A bit worse than we thought it would be
- Maggie (7/5): Fine for the price. Could do with a leaflet in room . - Room had adequate amenities. Breakfast not included. Fair value for money. No sign of staff at any time, so no one to help with queries.

- Laurence (7/5): - The location. Thete is a restaurant and a bar there so that s good No cleaning,. 2 old towels,, not much comfort

Tres calme

- 1cr (8/5): It's great ! -

- 535ashwinc (4/5): Not 4 stars or 3 - Location is good, right on its beach.
Hotel and rooms are a bit dated, décor needs updating.
Breakfast was limited in choice.
Take insects repellent, as I was bitten very badly and was scratching my arms and legs every day.
My room had large holes in the wall so insects would just entre the room.
Limited space for putting your cloths and toiletries in room and bathroom
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- Petteri (8/5): Very good -

- Bernardo (7/5): Good -
- David (10/5): Hanging out on Koh Samet. - Koh Samet is very expensive. The Lost Resort is within reason.Quiet ,clean , good restaurant, safe box,and afriendly staff.Plumbing and lighting worked well.Good wifi. I wish the TV had some English Channels
- Burgman (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (7/5): Good -
- Douglas (6/5): Pleasant -
- Tom (4/5): Run down shack - The one staf member that was there was very friendly and always working. Landscapeing the garden, building walls, sweeping, doing reception tasks, etc. And that for a pay of under 1k per month i find that comendable. Lost resort, its not lost its right on the main road around the island and its defently not a resort. There is no reception/bar or anything. There is 12 rooms 6 downstairs 6 upstairs. But i doubt all of them are in functioning condition. Beds where rockhard (had backpain for 2 weeks after that 3 day stay) and accomodation reminded me of backpacking in asia 15 years ago, but thats a different price bracket imo.
We stayed there for 3 days, nobody cleaned our room and we had to ask for fresh towels ourselves and the friendly handyman provided.
- Petter (9/5): Superb - Cozy place and nice staff
- Manon (9/5): Superb -
- Alex (7/5): Good -
- Thongsak (7/5): Good -
- Allison (7/5): Unpretentious - Didn’t have a resort mentality but simple and unpretentious which is what I personally like. Nice setting amongst the trees and nature Didn’t have a communal area
- Tomislav (10/5): Cozy - Cozy Cozy
- David (8/5): Perfectly fine stay for the price point. - Whilst location isn't on the beach, it is an easy stroll and away from any sources of noise pollution at night. Nothing. All fine.
- Olga (5/5): Simple room, not far from the beach. - Hotel in the forest, surrounded trees. The owner is very friendly. Not far from the village and bars. The road too close to hotel, so sounds of motorbikes annoy all the time. the hotel old and not good maintain any more.
- Jan (8/5): Very good - The resort was in a good beautiful paradise-like location. The resort is basic and oldish, but has a soul. I liked it. the room was quiet, close to the beach, not far from the village, but far enough to escape the noise. The facilities were basic, but enough for my stay. Everyday two small bottles of water are given from the friendly owner. Not sure whether it was possible to get the room cleaned or linnen and towels refreshed. I don't think so. In my case it was ok without cleaning for the time I stayed. Nothing the owner could do about, but the weather is quite humid, and wet clothes and other textile dry quiet slowly outside.
- Jules (8/5): Very good - I am used to jungle living . Ideal for me. Owner top chap .dunno what say if you are used to travel in jungles ideal.
And it had shelves in the shower for soap !!!!! And a towel hanger in bathroom. A mirror that works to shave and air con that works .
A superbly jungly place .
Be assured you are in a jungle and not sealed from it. But that's why we are here ? Critical to help :
Tap on sink a trickle (easily fixed )
Fan on ceiling room 4 didn't work. Or I didn't know how to make it work. As air con didn't matter.
- Mark (7/5): Nice and quiet, slept like a dog every night - Place is nothing fancy but it’s nice and quiet and far enough away from the busy road but still close enough to nearby beach and restaurants.
I slept extremely well every night.
Air con and shower was absolutely fine. Not that it bothered me personally but place could do with a bit of decor but it’s fine for the backpacker type
- PASCAL (8/5): AU CALME - PETITE BATISSE STYLE CASERNE DANS LA NATURE, CONFORT BASIC MAIS PROPRE. MER A 50 METRES, ET RESTO DE PLAGE POUR PETIT DEJEUNER.BON CHOIX DE COTE POUR LA PLAGE ,CAR MOIN DE SPEED BOAT ET TOURISTES CHINOIS, J'AI BIEN ENTENDU RIEN CONTRE LES CHINOIS, MAIS ILS ENMENNENT TOUT LE VILLAGE AVEC EUX POUR LEURS VAVANCES (allez.. un ptit peu d'humour aujourd'ui )
- Wei Chih (8/5): Cheap hotel for couple nights -
- Th0maz (10/5): Cheap and cosy - Stayed here for a week ish. It's around 1200 bht pr night. So, of course, it's not a 5 star resort. Service is friendly and simple. The bed is absolutely superb. Shower could do with a bit more pressure.
It's a short walk down a rather steep hill to the beach where there's a bunch of bars and nice restaurants.
I'll be back!
- Mr. Itchy (2/5): Lost resort, LAST RESORT! - Definitely not worth the money. Greated in my room by dead geckos, spiders and undesirable odour. Woke up horrendously bitten by bed bugs.
Would have complained by could never find anyone at the reception area.
A painful stay I wish it never happened. As I write this review I am itching away. The swelling with subside but no amount of ointment will get rid of the memory of this hell hole.
Please for the safety of public fumigate the room.
- Catjlyn (2/5): Dirty overpriced and unfriendly - We wish we had NEVER booked into this 'hotel'
To say the rooms are basic is an understatement
The lady running this place could not care less about her guests, to be honest she is never actually there as she is too busy with her friends in the bar over the road (the bar is there specifically for male clientele!)
The TV never worked for our entire stay and when we reported this we were just given a look of disgust and told that there are no English channels anyway so you wouldn't be able to watch it
We booked in for 7 days and as we had pre paid on our credit card we were stuck there - the room was only cleaned twice including the changing of towels and emptying of bins, the bedding was never changed!
The place is filthy, badly maintained, falling apart, infested with ants and mosquitos (and yes we are aware this is a jungle location of which we have stayed in many and never had the problem of bugs like this) the water is just about warm in the shower
One night we had a large Scorpion on our balcony, we couldn't get in the room, we didn't know what to do as they can be dangerous, there were no staff around to help and no way of contacting them, we actually ended up going to silver sands resort with a photo of said Scorpion and asked for their assistance as they advised it was a dangerous one, they helped us out (thank god). I would hate to think what would have happened if one of us was stung by the Scorpion!!!!
On top of all of this the place is used as a knocking shop by the previously mentioned bar, and although for the majority of the time we were there we were the only guests on the ground floor they always seemed to use the room next to us slamming doors in the middle of the night etc etc it was not a nice experience!
I would avoid this place 100%, for the price you pay you can get a lot better in the vicinity or if you are willing to pay an extra 200 baht you can get a lovely room in Samed Villas which includes breakfast (so works out cheaper anyway as breakfast will cost you about 200baht anyway)
- 1nice (10/5): Great place - A must vist when in Thailand, a great island with a great clean beach with activities at a reasonable prices. A great day out on the relaxing beach and vist the local area. Go by speed boat because it's really fast to get there.
- Robert (10/5): Not a resort, but a great value! - Ya know this place really isn't too bad. If you don't want to spend $90 a night it's absolutely perfect. It's a 3 minute walk to the beach and other resorts. The room was comfortable and the a/c worked great. It's definitely not a resort though, it's a cheap hotel for those looking to save over $50 per night. You can spend that extra money on food/drinks/massage.
- M4985Dannka (6/5): Average - Stayed here about a week since lots of other accomodation was full hence christmas. The room was big enough, also bathroom. Shower was not best, but reliable. My bathroom had antz which i dont like, but otherwise no bugs inside. No cleaning at all the week i stayed there but got a bottle of water everyday. I wish they could clean the rooms, like take the garbage but had to fix this myself. The bed was not quite comfy, but i did sleep well enough. There is a ac and a fan in the room which i love. There is also a refrigerator in the room. Its simple, its basic but also good rates if on budget. I booked through Agoda app- seems like the best in Thailand. You'll have to walk a bit to get to the beach, but thats okei. There is also a bar not far from there and a little market where you can buy what you need. Not luxury accomodation- but good enough. My only wish: better bed and a kettle in the room for those who like their coffee. Anyway: its reasonable prices and everything is in walking distance. Remember bugspray - moskitos is around every night at 1730-1930 - ish on all island.. enjoy your stay :-)
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good cost - Not bad
- lordchrisa (10/5): Beautiful - A truly beautiful island. Great for romantic breaks from the mainland of Thailand.
More of a relaxing place. Happy memories here.
Even have a 711 if you forgot your toothbrush . Snorkeling is a must too.
- derekd35 (8/5): A beautiful Island well worth a visit - I stayed Three nights with my friend James as part of a trip to Thailand and Vietnam. This Island is truly beautiful with friendly locals, great beeches and wonderful food and nightlife. Very romantic for couples without being too old which I've heard Koh Samui can feel. The one gripe was that it was super humid (first time I experienced that kind of humidity) and often on the beech where ever you were there was a somewhat odd and not altogether pleasant smell. But it was a lovely visit and I would highly recommend. Make sure you get the speed boat there from the mainland as its a great experience and worth the money!
- TheTaskin (6/5): Great for big groups who wants to chill - Great for big and energetic groups who wants to chill not for the activity person. Its slightly off from the beach. Pricing is good and its cheap.
It's on the higher side of the hill so if you don't like walking then it's a bad choice
- 563kathring (6/5): Friendly staff compared to the rest of the island - I was backpacking with a friend and we stayed at the Lost resort for one night and then decided to head back to Bangkok. Our choice was more related to the whole island rather than only to the lost resort. We checked into the lost resort after Jeps bungalow was fully booked out. Though Jeps bungalow was in the better location on the beach with nice breakfast the owner was terribly unfriendly whereas the lost resort staff was nice, rooms okay.
However, we cannot recommend Ko Samet. After spending time on the islands (Ko Phangang, Ko Tao), Ko Samet is really sad, dirty, unfriendly, barely anybody speaks any words of English and no infrastructure (e.g. hospitals!), unorganized transportation etc. Our experience was so bad that we'd rather go back to Bangkok for 3 nights.
- Marc469 (4/5): Checked out after 30 minutes - Unfortunately this place is not well looked after. We booked for 2 nights through Agoda, got to the place, checked in but had to check out 30 minutes later because the room was in very poor conditions.
- 485Justin888 (6/5): Location - This place is not a "nice" hotel, but it's adequate and very close to Tubtim beach and silver sands bar/resort if you want to be near the busy part of the island. It's sufficient for a short stay, and staff are very responsive if you speak Thai. Stayed here because all else was broke up. Was fine, but manage expectations, enjoy the island, and you'll have a nice weekend here.
- Wombofisis (8/5): Samed steadfast... - Great place, it is what it says it is at the end of the day, a lost resort tucked away waiting to be found. It is one of the islands original long standing resorts and offers a reasonable clean practical room at a very fair price. I like the fact that this place has stayed true to it's roots and hardly changed over the years. At the end of the day if you want a five star luxury resort then you should have gone to Phuket instead of Samed, most people don't appreciate that the Island is only 7 km long and back in the day there was no electric ...so all you folk wanting your free wifi passwords and depending on gps to get around should consider yourselves lucky, back in the day you would have never been able to exist on this island. David the owner is a safe guy and has lived on the Island longer than most of the locals, adding to the community spirit and respected by those who know him. On long weekends when there is 'no room at the inn' give this place a try and your normally lucky enough to get a room.
- IngeJoergensen (6/5): I liked it, but too pricy - I stayed 6 night here and I liked it. Everything functioned very well. Friendly staff and friendly owner. I paid to much though, 1200 bath pr.night. 7-800 would be more to the standard, not even breakfast included.
I enjoyd the little walk to the Beach.
PS, With a good mosquitocream I had no problems at all.
- e_sicco (6/5): OKEY - This tiny hotel is just 2 min walk from the beach. Since it's not located right on the beach there is a lot of mosquitoes when the suns sets. That means that using the little balcony outside the room is likely giving you some bites. However the staff puts up some mosquito repellant every night that at least minimizes the amount of mosquitoes.
The room it self is small with a queen size bed. The bed was hard as usual in Thailand. We stayed for 4 nights in a room with a fan and not once was the room cleaned. For me the worst problem is the sand you bring back from the beach. I don't kneed my towels to be changed every day but a sand free bed is nice.
We paid 800 bath for each night and a 1000 bath for the night before new years eve.
I think it's a ok for what you pay for.
- 485Justin888 (6/5): Location is good - Went for a long weekend and this was literally the last place we could find with any rooms. If you're going during a long weekend and want to
Be near the gay part of the island (tubtim beach and silver sands) this location is great. The air con was good, the bed was sufficient, but it's certainly not at all luxurious. Get mosquito repellent too (there are mosquitoes all over the island, but the hotel grounds happen to have a lot). It's easier if you can speak Thai BC although the owner is Brit, the staff don't speak it as well. They were nice and responded every time we needed anything. We weren't in the hotel much, the location was great, so this place worked just fine for us. It's definitely not the ritz, just lower expectations and you will be just fine here (-;
- Thomas1976thomas (6/5): Ok - I only stayed two nights in this place on koh samet island. It is more a backpackers place and not a hotel. I think for the price it is ok. The rooms were ok, but not so clean. The staff was really nice and friendly.
- 396eliasr (6/5): Average place - My wife and I booked this place for around 700 baht per night. We stayed for two nights and i would say that was plenty.
The place was not bad, as clean and nice as it should be for the price.
Pros
Cheap
Decent room
Great Wifi from Room
Quiet
Beds are moderately comfortable
Cons
Tons of mosquitos
Shower is next to toilet
not near anything
Conclusion
Decent place to stay for the price, but I would recommend spending the extra 500 baht to stay at jeps right up the street.
- waarisaimy (8/5): Nice staff, good location and a basic but clean room - I'm writing this review because I think that this resort deserves better reviews. Ok, it is not a five star resort, but it is one of the cheapest (weekday around B 800), with a really nice and clean room. It is basic, but has a nice bed, tv, aircondition, and a private bathroom.
De staff is very friendly though. We did our laundry there and it was finished the same day. And the first day we had some problems with the water and toilet, but they fixed it immediatly.
We think the location was actually really great (if you don't mind to walk for five/ten minutes). It is not near the beach, but really close to two beaches (we really liked the tubtim beach), so you don't need to rent a motorbike or take a taxi, what's quiet expensive though.
After two nights we had to leave, because of the wheater. Otherwise we would definitly stayed one more night here.
We really recommend this place, especially if you're on a small budget!
One thing: no breakfast options. But wasn't a real problem for us, because we took a breakfast on the beach (recommend bamboo cafe).
- ValliGulla (6/5): Good value for backpackers - This guesthouse is a good choice for backpackers on a budget that want a clean room with AC. It's really basic rooms, double bed, hot shower. It's aprox 7-10 min walk to the beach up/down a hill but for 1000bath it's worth it. Though it was clean i still felt like the bed had flees or beg buds, we got bitten on the legs. Overall a nice choice for travelers on a budget.
