• Stuart (9/5): All’s well that ends well! A serendipitous outcome to our adventure. - After an unfortunate incident overnight meant we were unable to remain in the Swellendam Self Catering apartment, the management very quickly arranged for us to move to another of their properties, Doolittle Cottages, just down the road, for the rest of our stay. The relocation process was managed smoothly and with no impact on our visit. Doolittle Cottages are an oasis in the heart of Swellendam and the friendly furry and feathered residents are a delight. The welcome was warm and friendly and I couldn’t recommend the location and team more highly.

• Shandene (9/5): Great cottages for self catering stay - Location was great and cottage was neat and well put together Wifi slightly spotty
• Andre (6/5): The place is well located and clean. The single bathroom/toilet is inconvenient and somewhat impractical for a 3-bed - Good location. Clean. Only one bathroom including toilet which was inconvenient for 4 guests.
• Tatenda (6/5): Good base for exploring the area and surrounds, Wi-fi available. Secure area. - The proprietors stay close by so they were available to hand over and collect the keys. It was reassuring to know that had there been anything we needed we could reach them and they would be available to assist. The information brochure provided good recommendations of things to do, places to go and see etc. There was sufficient cuttlery and utensils for self catering purposes. I was under the impression that we would have double bed in the main bedroom which my wife and I were using, yet it was 2 single beds joined together. I am almost 1.8m tall and this was quite an uncomfortable sleeping experience. The bath tub was not clean, shower water was hard to regulate between the hot and cold water. Oven took long when we were using it, seems it is faulty.
• Alexandra (9/5): Nice 3 bedroom house with patio and garden. - Nice house in Swellendam that offers everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a well needed washing machine and outside area to dry your clothes. Unfortunately, we only stayed for a stop-over but the house is excellent to explore the Swellendam area for several days. The smallest NP in South Africa, Bontebok NP, is only a few minutes away. Restaurants are in walking distance, we felt safe to walk there in the evening.

• Alice (9/5): Great secure unit with lovely staff - Lovely communal area, well-equipped kitchen, and the power for wifi, tv and lights during load shedding was an excellent bonus during our Eskom stage 6 stay! Team were communicative, friendly and helpful for check in and check out. Electric radiator in the lounge doesn’t provide much heat in the cold - another one wouldn’t go amiss in such a large room.

This was one most amazing stay we had in absolute years. They deserve a golden star! Nothing not to like. It is more than home away from home. • Fox (9/5): Very relaxing and quiet - The spacious, good-quality accommodation Due to location, there was no view out of the bedroom windows.
• George (7/5): Good - Friendly host, easy access, good security, clean utensils, dstv, spacious. Couches were not sufficiently clean, there was dust underneath the bed and the matrass and pillows were mediocre. No battery back-up during load shedding.

Lovely front yard! Everything we needed was supplied. Very nice accommodation! Thank you We did not have people over, but I didnt like that in the rules you have to pay extra for people to come over and visit eg braai/supper etc (quite expensive as well). We did not ask for clarity on that as we were just in Swellendam for hiking, but if we were to come back for leisure, that would be inconvenient and costly.

• Melissa (10/5): Safe haven - These cottages are lovely and immaculately clean. The furnishings are comfortable. We only wished for another night there, this was a real place of respite to slow down in the middle of hectic travel.
