Guest Reviews
- Michele (6/5): - The positives: staff were great, location was close to transportation and shops, and I didn't hear much noise from other guests or outside. The negatives: some of the furniture was quite worn, the area around the hotel was a bit sketchy (but not unsafe), and I had to ask for a kettle as there wasn't one in my room.
- Sachin Kumar (10/5): - The hotel is very close to the Frankfurt main station with easy access to trams and central Frankfurt is within walking distance of 15 - 20 minutes.
Overall everything about the hotel has been excellent from check-in to House keeping service.
Already booked the same hotel for my next trip.
- Sheila (8/5): - The hotel haa clean lobby, check-in was easy. The room was tidy but no complimentary coffee in the room. The bath towels smell some mildew. Only toiletries complimentary was soap
- Catalina (10/5): - The staff was very nice and we appreciated a modern bathroom
- Ulrike (8/5): - The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was very good. It is conveniently close to the rail station but the area around the hotel was dirty and feels unsafe particularly in the evening. Otherwise it is a short walk to vey nice sights.
- Javier (6/5): - The Hotel is fine. You get what you pay for.
The only detail is the surrounding streets. You have to be careful with some people they walk near by
- Mohammad (8/5): - area is bad
- Sam (10/5): - Clean, comfortable and great value.
- Jonathan (8/5): - Staff were welcoming, Room was clean and tidy and made up every day of stay.
- Robby (10/5): - No parking garage and parking around parking around hotel almost impossible
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nicely designed hotel, but the details let it down - Nicely designed hotel and rooms, simple and understated. Some Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- Staff were friendly
- Location close to station and Messe
- Design of room was nice
Cons:
- AC did not work, room very warm
- Hairdryer like a light breeze
- Curtains didn't cover whole window
- Advertised SKY UK channels, but non-existent on TV
- Bar is not really a bar, little misleading from photo, its bottles only and really just the reception. Unmanned.
- Breakfast OK, continental.
- Area nearby was a little sketchy at night, homeless shelter 2x doors down, and attracted crowds in evening. Didn't feel that safe walking alone at night.
- 2x lamps didn't work in room
Overall needs a bit of T&C. Whilst the details missing are small, they add up to an under-par stay.
- Eteri (10/5): - Very cosy and comfortable hotel , quite near Messe, 5 minutes walk , will always stay here when attending Messe
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place, friendly staff
- Leopoldo (6/5): - The area is convenient to have acces to the Main Station but it doesn’t look safe
- Ryan (6/5): - Good rates, nice breakfast buffet
- Leopoldo (8/5): - The area doesn’t seem safe but location is very conveniente. 2 blocks from Central Station
- Matthew (8/5): - Nice hotel
- Martin (6/5): Not bad hotel near Frankfurt hbf - Pretty average hotel near Frankfurt hbf , location is convenient but not a very nice area. Staff could be more friendly but in general it was ok
- DANIEL (6/5): - So, I first want to mention, this place was on the cheaper side, so my expectations weren’t extremely high. I appreciated the price. The bathroom smelled weird, refrigerator didn’t work, and the remote battery compartment broken. If you decide to stay here, just know, you’ll be getting what you pay for. If you are easily startled by homeless people, you shouldn’t stay here. All that being said, it wasn’t the nicest or cleanest, but I enjoyed my stay for what it was.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Definitely not 4 stars - Such a poor hotel. Wouldn’t recommend. It says it’s 4 stars but that has to be a lie. The AC didn’t work so at night the room was so hot even in late October. The fridge didn’t work and when I spoke to the front desk they just laughed it off. The room was dusty. I had breakfast included but I had to go to a different hotel. Also I was supposed to have WiFi but they cut off the night before I was supposed to check out.
- nyctraveler2011 (2/5): Power outage in room, no response from staff - The electricity went out in my room as soon as I plugged in the electric kettle. No-one answered the front desk (at 5:00 a.m.). I've had horrible hotel experiences, but a power outage is a first. Bad wiring is a dangerous condition. Avoid at all costs.
- Medoss (8/5): - Nice place and very close to train station BUT also close to streets where homeless do drugs.
- jahandar (6/5): - Price
- LEE (10/5): - Overall it was a good choice. Good spot with walkable distance to Messe, great breakfast restaurant, worth of walking to Bristol hotel in the morning. One bad thing is drug sniffers on the street.
- Wing Chau (10/5): Slept very well ! - Slept very well, very quiet, dark enough with the curtain. Flexible 24h front desk, good location close to the main train station. Maybe I need coffee in the room next time but does not matter.
- Ning (10/5): - Good stay.
- Gwen (8/5): - I was only there for night , it was good for the short time I was there .
- Christian (8/5): - It was ok for one night, very quiet room , pretty good overall for the price.
- Roberto (6/5): - Area is ghetto. Staff are not very nice. I had to get stuff fr the front desk instead of house keeping brining me the stuff i needed. Toilet was so dirty. Looked like the didnt clean it for months. So gross
- Dennis (10/5): - I read the reviews about the mouse sightings while traveling to the hotel and was a little worried, but I never saw a mouse. The hotel is very clean. It's near the train station and the whole area around the train station is a little dodgy. That area of Frankfurt has really gone downhill since our last visit in 2019. I'll probably stay near the airport next time.
- Mahmood (4/5): - It’s close to main station and you might think it’s good to be close to tourism area but YOU ARE WRONG ! it feels extremely unsafe. My wife walked to get a sandwich and someone close to the hotel tried to touch her and steal her accessories. We ordered food and people stole our food.
I do not recommend at all because of the otherwise the hotel could be acceptable but environment makes it to not worth even for free
Pay more and find another place far from this Area
- Christopher (8/5): - The hotel looks nicer in the photos than it actually is. It's not a bad hotel, just feels a bit cheap for what I would expect from a 4-star hotel (paint peeling off, furnishings worn out, etc.) Still, it was very good value for what I paid.
- Obisike (6/5): - The AC wasn't working. Asked for a fan but housekeeping must of forgot to bring it up.Got woken up outside by these minglers on the street at 7.00am hollering loudly. Yeah, probably give this one a miss next time.
- Emilio (6/5): - Very close to the main station, only things about the room is that the AC wasn’t working for our room after we let the receptionist know they said it looked like it was working on their end which wasn’t any help. When showering the shower drain smelled horrid. We didn’t know if it was the drain or the shower itself. Other than that its a good location, and alot of food options around the area
- Stephen (2/5): Ghetto hotel. - If your looking for a cheap place to stay where hoovers havent yet been invented and the electrics look like doctor nick from the simpsons has wired it then this is brilliant. I was left 2 complimentary pills in my room so if you have young kids id stay well away.
- Tyler (2/5): - They spruce it up and make it seem nice, but it really isn’t. No gym, no laundry. Area is not safe at all. My AC didn’t work at all in my first room, and had to change, and even then it was still just gross.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was generally clean, but the bathroom could have used some extra attention. The bed was very comfortable, and the bedding was excellent. The front desk was kind and helpful. The hotel is located in a less than great area of Frankfurt, which caught me by surprise. Definitely worth it for the great price, and I would stay there again if I was not a solo female traveler.
- Ian (8/5): - Nice hotel close to Frankfurt main station. Easy routes via tram or U-Bahn to city centre or walkable in 20-25 mins. Room was nice although bathroom bigger than bedroom! Just right for a short stay.
- viktor_nilsson97 (4/5): Smelly and dirty rooms – would not recommend for families. - Context: We booked this room for one night as a couple.
At first sight the hotel seemed very nice and the room clean and fresh. We took a closer look and suddenly felt that the bathroom smelt like a sewer, which we later realized was a smell that was constant during our entire stay.
We also noticed that the room was not cleaned properly at all. There were three things under the bed from guests before us.
The minibar was not restocked, which didn't bother us. Also the dark curtains did not cover both windows, only one.
The area the hotel is located in is a bad area, a lot of drug addicts, so be careful with small children and such.
I would also like to point out that the room we got was not "family-friendly". The bathroom is connected to the bedroom with a glass-wall. You can see right in to the shower from the bedroom, which is not very pleasant if you are travelling as anything other than a couple.
- Minjia (6/5): - Facility is clean but the supplies are ver basic. Pillow is in poor condition, no cups for brushing teeth. Limited towels.
- Abdulla (6/5): - Just an average place
- Mike (2/5): - Air conditioning didn’t work, spoke to 3 different members of staff non of which solved this issue. One of them told me our room was 27 degrees that is just unacceptable, fridge didn’t work either. We used the room for 10 minutes, sat in reception for remainder of our stay, there was working air conditioning in there. We paid over £150 for one night and couldn’t use the room, was getting dismissed by the manager.
- Kristy (8/5): - Like others have said, the area isn't great, but the hotel itself is nice. I loved the huge shower. Nicely decorated rooms at a great price.
- Abbie (2/5): - The staff was very much rude and had a bad attitude, I was not with that
- Darrel (8/5): Convenient and comfortable - Great little German restaurant right across the street and a Turkish one around the corner. It was a great hotel for the price.
- Dorothea (6/5): - The hotel itself was fine but very basic. Small, no dining service and no ability to set the temperature in individual rooms. The area around it is not good. It is the first time I've seen people openly smoking crack on the streets during the morning (and evening) rush hours. Really not a good look for Frankfurt. Also, this hotel is located on a busy road with lots of emergency vehicles using sirens to get through the nearby intersection, so very noisy.
- Fatemeh (8/5): - Very good service
- Keegan (10/5): Affordable and easy - Great stay! Close to Frankfurt Main HBF. Friendly staff. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable
- Kim (2/5): - I was robbed walking from the station to the hotel. The area is the worst and most unsafe I have seen anywhere in Europe and is among the worst I have seen in any of the 40 countries I have been in. At the police station the officer taking my report stated this is the worst crime area in Germany. The hotel is marginal with many features of the room inoperablere- safe (was moved to another room) fridge, lamp, bathroom fan noisy. I abandoned the second night which was prepaid and non-refundable and moved on.
- Khaled (8/5): - Good and clean place
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Couldn’t stay the night at this hotel and had to leave shortly after arriving. Not entirely clear how this place is a 4 star hotel. While only at the hotel for a limited of time, our experience was poor. The room smelt strongly malodorous, the area surrounding the hotel is quite grungey, even with windows close it was quite loud with bottles breaking and constant yelling, the room had minimal lighting and carpets that are likely several decades old. While the service was friendly, I would not recommend the facility.
- yasar (4/5): - Not recommended
- aktsar (4/5): Convenient but dangerous location - The hotel's location is convenient between the train station and the exhibition center, nevertheless problematic, especially at night when it can be rather dangerous to walk on those streets. Breakfast was at another hotel 150 meters away, rather discomforting and the rooms might be needing a renovation. Staff friendly and helpful.
- Mesha Naidoo (8/5): - Area around hotel is near the station which was a bit unclean. Room was nice, no issues there.
- Nuhjunen (4/5): Disappointed - The sheets were like sandpaper, dusty room, messy shower, empty minibar and so noisy. The area is close to the train station so there is a lot of strange people.
Never been in so bad 4 stars hotel!
- Sanel (4/5): - Hotel is ok area is bad
- Tungalag (10/5): - good best hotel thank you
- Subash (10/5): - Very clean and easy to find the hotel. Staff was bery helpful and kind.
- Cynthia (6/5): - It was ok
- Jwan (10/5): - Very nice staff clean suits 15 min to taksim square
- Briana (10/5): - Convenient location, affordable, clean, spacious, and the shower was a plus
- Thomas (8/5): - Wasn't best hotel but definitely worth the price and staff was good
- HOYEON (6/5): Good but need some feedback. - Overall, I think this is optimised for most of solo travellers. It is near the Frankfurt Hbf.
I saw some white material (Kalk or some shampoo remnants idk.) on the bayhroom floor When I entered there for the 1st time.
I hope the breakfast service re-opens soon to guests soon.
- Silvana (6/5): - Hotel is very close to the main train station . Area is full of drug dealers and junkies it felt extremely unsafe .The area wreaks of urine. . My fridge nor air conditioning was working , I tried asking the gentleman downstairs if I could either have another room or a working fridge but was denied both. Due to the noise coming from bars downstairs I wasn’t able to open the windows. The agent at check out this morning (sorry I didn’t get her name )was very pleasant . I did not enjoy my stay .
- Khaled (10/5): - It’s nice area and close to central station
- Helen (10/5): - Stayed one night at this hotel, the room was very clean and it had everything I needed, plenty of towels, toilet papers and a box of kleenex, hair dryer, tea kettle.. the bed was comfortably. The young lady at the front desk was very helpful, sorry, i didnt catch your name 😔.
- John (8/5): Nice inexpensive hotel - Nice hotel near train station. Seems just outside an area that is pretty sketchy. I mean that as a positive since I’ve accidentally been in the sketchy area.
Room was clean and comfortable. Toilet ran all night one night and they addressed it quickly when I asked.
- Jen Chung (2/5): - AC in the room didn’t work and the staff didn’t offer solutions. Plus the room was dirty, smelly and appliances didn’t work. So, not a good choice.
- Lucaswang (2/5): Smelly room without functional AC, good luck for the summer guests - We paid for EU$150+ for two nights and in exchange we got: 1) Not functional AC, and the crew didn't believe it or do nothing; 2) smelly room, dirty drapes, yellow toilet, busted appliances; 3) worst crew attitude
- Elizabeth (2/5): Fire in hotel/felt unsafe - When we arrived, the front desk associate ran away mid check-in and then came back. We asked if everything was ok to which she told us that someone within the hotel lit something on fire in their room, but everything is ok. We then went to our rooms and noticed the floor smelled like smoke. The actual room had a tag on the door that stated that the room needed to be cleaned and we walked into a dirty room. There were stains on the sofa and the shower in the bathroom was dirty. There was also a vape sticking out of the flower box by the window which had bars on it. We did not feel safe and switched hotels. I do not recommend staying here.
- Jared (10/5): Awesome staff and great location - Get the 4th floor! They have a connected balcony. It was great for my buddy and I to be able to walk over and talk through the window.
- iPutMyTowelOutEarly (6/5): Fine for €43/night, but not really 4 stars - What can be said about the location that hasn't been said yet? Frankfurt'S maim station area is horrible. There's nobody injecting drugs on the street in front of the hotel (that happens 300m away), but was offered to buy drugs around the corner.
The hotel looks modern. Check in was reasonably efficient and friendly. Single room is very small, the modern bathroom is larger than the bedroom. Slow-ish but free wifi. Room is pretty worn, dirty corners here and there in the bathroom. Very unpleasant smell from the drain in the bathroom.
My room was facing the courtyard so no traffic noise, but antisocial riff-raff in neighboring houses making noise at 6am on a Saturday, really great. A/C can only be turned on or off, temperature is set to a ridiculous 16C and can't be changed by user.
Cleaning crew (three Indian guys) took forever to get to my room in the 5th floor, usually around 2pm, when I was in.
Overall decent for the money, but lots of drawbacks.
- Darrel (10/5): Finding a Jewel! - Delighted to find this jewel property, very convenient to all services and staff very helpful.
- Ellise (8/5): - Great location, good amenities
- Ayano (10/5): - Kindly staffs
Room was comfortable
Very nice!
- Jamieson (10/5): - Check in was fine, breakfast could use a major improvement.
- Joseph (4/5): - The staff was very nice and welcoming, the rooms seemed clean, but smelled rancid. The property lacked amenities and the sound from the street was pretty loud all night long.
- Nerses (10/5): - Everything was good.
- Ng?c Hân (8/5): - They combined 2 single beds into 1 single bed. When i was sleeping 2 beds started to split. Everything else was good
- Gary (6/5): - Meh
- Xiao (8/5): - Great facilities. Not in the safest neighborhood
- Yasar (8/5): - Overall reasonable hotel
- LDawn_RH (2/5): Filthy. Broken. Missing items - This hotel does not live up to its name. For starters, it's in a very sketchy part of town, close to the main train station. We tried to check in, only to learn that no rooms were ready. So we went exploring and came back a few hours later. The room was horrid. The old SHAG carpet was filthy and worn out, so much that I left my socks on until I got into bed. The shower was grossly unclean on the floors and walls, and never did get enough hot water with poor pressure. The soap dispenser in the shower and the one by the sink were both broken - you'd press on it for a pump of soap and it would fall apart. There were no glasses, no cream for the coffee/tea, only one thin set of towels for two of us, only body lotion, no conditioner. The bathroom window was not covered, giving a clear line of sight from the toilet to the next building. The draperies did not close fully, also reducing privacy. There is a huge glass panel between the head of the bed and the bathroom, so if you're trying to sleep and someone needs the light on in the loo, it will wake you up. The door did not latch properly, had to wrestle with it to be sure it was locked. We were denied breakfast, despite our reservation stating it was included - they said we cold opt to pay for breakfast instead. The front desk staff were barely competent in English, a shame for a central hotel in a busy city. Cannot recommend.
- Meander791837 (4/5): Not a good area - My airport Uber driver told me this hotel is located in the worst neighborhood of Frankfurt. The room is in desperate need of updating. The shag type carpet was very dirty. The coffee cup (the only cup in the room) had not been washed from the previous guest. I decided it best that I wash it myself to know it was clean. Towels are thin and scratchy. The young woman working the desk in the afternoon was excellent. Very helpful and nice. However, I literally woke up the gentleman who was working the desk when I came down for my 6:00 a.m. ride to the airport. Oops.
- Verified traveler (8/5): I'd definitely go again. - Staff was friendly and helpful, Everything seemed pretty new and very clean and well done. Things aren't quite sorted out yet though...phone was dead for 3 days, internet was frustratingly problematic (but they eventually had a knowledgeable staff member who helped), Breakfast is extra, but a pretty full spread.
Convenient to Central Train Station + center of Frankfurt.
If one walks straight to Mainzerlandstrasse and down one block to the left, one can avoid most of the more "seedy" aspects of the area (many people hanging around in doorways and a lot of trash on the ground). I am an experienced, older woman, alone, but had no problems even going on the side streets. (For younger women, it might be harder.)
- 279pattiec (10/5): Great Boutique Hotel by train station - Wonderful hotel room 306 is huge. Near the train station. The area is not great however. Very cute boutique hotel. Walkable from train station. Would stay again but only if I needed to stay near the train station. Inexpensive and large rooms.
- Siang Hua (6/5): - Room was too warm and muggy yet windows couldn’t be opened because flower boxes outside windows were full of trash and cigarette butts. Bathroom wall all glass so the whole room was bright when someone went to use it in the middle of night and door was very loud. Bad room design.
- pakistanitraveller (8/5): Comfy place but not so good neighborhood - Cozy hotel but not the best area. As one local put it. Hotels around stations are not the best locale. Lot of beggars and vagranta around, but close to malls, station, and eateries. I didn't have to take the train even once. The staff was very clinical and efficient as expected, and my interactions were very positive. My recommendation is to take this place if you are solo and want proximity to the station
- Jamieson (10/5): - Pleasant staff. Petra in particular at the front desk was always polite and happy to help!
- RenatoLibra (4/5): A/C that does not work, no breakfast (even though reservation says so) - This hotel, a boutique one was probably a nice one when brand new. But as it is almost expected in Germany, and in many properties where no value is placed on service, once the guest has already booked and paid for the stay, one just have a very basic place, that has not seen the care and attention needed to run a decent hotel. The room looks nice at first, until minutes later one started to see the many things that are broken or falling off the walls, with no care whatsoever.
Worse of all:
1) Rooms have A/C but same is set to "controlled remotely" and supposedly set at 23 degrees Celsius, but during my stay, I could not sleep well two nights in a row as it was too warm in the room, during a spat of many days over 30 degrees Celsius in FRA and most of Germany.
2) I booked 2 nights with breakfast. On the evening of my check-in, after I asked for breakfast hours, I was told there was no breakfast. I said, your website says "breakfast included" and my reservation confirmation shows "breakfast included"... She went on to say that due to Covid they had no breakfast (even though this stay took place over 2 months after the hotels re-opened after the pandemic) and gave me the "sorry, what do you want me to do, I just work here" response. I said I would hope she talks to the manager/owner about it. She shrug as if she would. Minutes later I wrote my complaint to the hotel email address and never heard from anybody.
Other negative: The location. Even though it looks as if very central, the very immediate neighborhood is ugly, stinky and it has way too many people, mostly Africans, homeless and drunks hanging on the street all day and evening, and they approach you offering drugs, and/or mumbling things one can't understand or don't want to.
My Bathroom had even a personal shampoo bottle completely empty and one half empty, left by previous guests.
There are better offerings for similar pricing to be had. I do not recommend this property. No respect for their guests,
- P j (8/5): Nice hotel. Very rough area. - Excellent clean and spacious room with good sound proofing. Large bathroom.and one of the best showers i ever tried. Sadly the hotel is in a very run down area and i didnt feel safe though.
- Roy (8/5): Clean and polite - Very clean with polite staff
- Russell (6/5): - Hotel room was ok. Thick carpet and a bathroom with a glass wall was odd. Good location if you need to be close to the station. Reception staff helpful and friendly. Good AC & comfortable beds.
- G.begin@hotmail (10/5): - We like the situation
Very convenient for the Frankfurt mess
We can go by walk
- MikyPen (2/5): Scam - A real scam during trade fair periods. He invoices prices over 200 € even for a cancellation caused by the corina virus. rooms in this hotel usually cost around € 100 !!! for me really not recommendable
- SharonB98 (8/5): BUSINESS TRIP - Hotel is close to Ambiente fair, literally a 8 min walk. Rooms are spacious, wifi good and of course breakfast was top notch. Don't expect bells and whistles for service. Plain and simple, shampoo etc was not filled up. District quite safe considering area and rooms are well heated. Easy to walk to great restaurants and mall
- Tai (8/5): Great value - Great hotel for the money. Breakfast was decent and the room was really clean.
- Laurie (10/5): Great Stay at Hotel Bliss - We had such an easy check-in and the staff was so friendly. The breakfast in the morning was the best part. The walk from the train station was easy and the rooms were comfy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Around 500 yards from Frankfurt main train station. At night just have your wits about you l. Lots of people hanging around shop doors etc. The hotel was clean very welcoming when we arrived, room very clean bathroom clean, breakfast was very nice, room was cleaned while we had breakfast so we came back up to a clean room. We would stay here again it’s round 1.5 mile from Christmas markets. But fun to walk and stop at shops and restaurants along the way
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel and sraff were really nice however the room needed some tlc as there were dents, marks and chips of paint throughout
