Philippa (8/5): The host is lovely but I had higher expectations of the location and room facilities - The property was clean and comfortable. Our host was helpful It was about 1.5km from the town centre. The property is located high on a hill so the walk home is steep. Even if you catch a bus it only drops you at the bottom of the hill. It says bed and breakfast but the breakfast is limited to cornflakes, musli, tea and coffee. It is self contained but there is no kitchen sink. There is no room service.

The room was very nice and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable! Bruce picked us up from the ferry and gave great recommendations for our time spent on the island. Loved staying at Wild Thyme.

Linda (10/5): Great finish to our two week trip to New Zealand - Lovely studio on Waiheke Island, close to the town of Oneora. We had a great view and lovely weather. The studio and bath were very well appointed with everything we might need. Bruce, the owner is delightful and very amenable to our needs. It would have been more convenient to have a car there but we figured out the bus system and got around the Island with the buses and walking.

Shira (10/5): Peaceful beautiful escape in the gardens above the bay - We loves the beautiful garden and view from this wonderful suite. Walking to and from the town was so lovely- a nice 15 minute walk which meant we were tucked away in a quiet area but still close to everything. We used the busses to explore the whole island, walked all over using the beautiful trails to and from different beaches, and loved the comfy bed. Nothing!

KATSURA (10/5): Best Holiday Ever!! - Among the many wonderful accomodations on Waiheke Island, we chose Wild Thyme because they gave detailed information about the location and facilities, which made it easy for us to imagine what our stay would be like. AND Wild Thyme was PERFECT in every way! The rooms were well-equipped and comfortable, and were spotlessly clean. The view from the terrace was breathtaking, while the place is located in a convenient area, shops and the beach of Onorea within walking distance. Most of all, Jules and Bruce were great hosts, being attentive and kind. It is all thanks to their welcome, my parents and I truly enjoyed an unforgettable vacation. Another BIG attraction is Jule's Wine Tour! The information is also written on the notebook provided in your room. I highly recommend it to anyone considering staying here. She asked us about our wine preferences in advance and came up with the Perfect plan. We visited Allpress Olive Groves, Tantalus, Man O'War+lunch, Waiheke Gin Distillery and Passage Rock. It may have been partly because it was winter and the wineries were quiet, but Jules arranged with the winery staff to grant our selfish request to try wines(bubbles!) that were not on the regular tasting menu! She even arranged for us to taste limited edition gin at the distillery. She took us to hard-to-reach places in the east and south of the island, such as ManO'War and Passage Rock, where we enjoyed not only the drinks but also the charms of the island as a whole. It's only been a week since I returned home, but I already feel a strong desire to go back.

Janet (10/5): Wonderful Waiheke stay! - Our Wild Thyme stay was above & beyond anything we imagined. The view of Oneroa Bay from our stay was a breathtaking. Bruce & Jules were the most welcoming, friendly, and helpful hosts. The room was very comfortable & had everything we needed for our stay. The patio was the perfect spot to enjoy our morning coffee & tea, and our afternoon glass of wine while looking out over the bay. If we are fortunate enough to return to Waiheke Island, we would love to stay at Wild Thyme again.

Really helpful suggestions on where to go to see and eat and walks etc. Very comfortable room with everything you need for breakfast but no kitchen per se. Nice touch to have milk and a bottle of fizz in the fridge. Nothing to dislike. Some may struggle with the walk up the hill but not so bad and taxis available from the town if needed.

Salma (4/5): Great location, lovely views, could be cleaner. Not worth your buck. - Pretty amazing views to wake up to. The location is central and close to Oneroa town. Cute little spacious studio with an outside seating area where we enjoyed the sun. Complimentary bubbles in the fridge. Also, great collection of board games. We weren’t given any instructions on how to access the property on arrival so spent 10 mins just waiting on the driveway. Weren’t sure which studio we had booked either or how to get in. It was only coincidental that a passerby told us how to get in. We had also messaged and called Bruce a couple of times and he didn’t respond during that time. The place smelt like dog & you could smell it as soon as we walked in. There was a stain on one of the cushions on the bed. The place is not sound proof as we could hear the upstairs neighbours walking around, thumping footsteps for a very long time overnight. The TV does not work. It was glitching and distorted at best. The toilet was also grubby. All in all, I was a disappointed as I don’t think this was place was worth $390 per night. We noticed the cleaner when we were leaving had a vacuum cleaner only so a little concerning.

The lady looking after the property went down the road and bought some which was very nice . TV remote would not operate TV. Suggest new batteries could fix the problem.

It’s more than a 10 rating. We finished out our travels of NZ here and Bruce and Jules could not have been more kind or hospitable to make our stay absolutely perfect. There’s nothing to not like! They were always available to help and answered any questions we had. Great service. Room was clean, comfy and had everything we needed. Very good view and good location. Just a few minute drive to most places we wanted to visit. The complimentary bottle of bubbles definitely enhanced our stay. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to have a nice, relaxing stay at Waiheke.

Rosemary (10/5): Exceptional - The location is amazing with views over Little Oneroa. The apartment is comfortable with great equipment for self catering , but equally good access to restaurants . Bruce and Jules are the most helpful and accommodating hosts. I would love to return.

Nicole (10/5): Fantastic stay at beautiful Waiheke! - Very clean, spacious and comfortable stay. The appartment really has everything you could think of! Like beachtowels, insectspray, washingmachine including liquids etc. etc.! Anything I could think of, it was there ;) Perfect for a stay with 2 young kids! The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and also very easy going and flexible. We got a lot of good recommendations from Bruce and we all liked them. So definitely recommend to stay here!

And the host, Bruce, was easily one of the best of all my global travels. Absolutely incredible. We did not stay long enough :). Wish we would have stayed for a week.
Anders (10/5): Great location and place at Waiheke Island - Wild Thyme is an excellent place to stay for your visit to Waiheke. Your hosts, Jules & Bruce, are fantastic to assist with any matter you might wonder about. The place is immaculate fresh and clean with comfortable beds and all other things you may need like ironing board, fridge, coffemachine etc. It is just a few minutes walk to the beach and another few minutes walk to restaurants and shops in Oneroa. That we had to leave😉

Falko (10/5): Fantastic Christmas stay with kids - Wonderful hosts Jules and Bruce went out of their way to make this a fantastic stay, from rides around the island to an impromptu Christmas Day dinner! Thank you! The location is also great, close to Oneroa village and beaches, and our kids enjoyed exploring the garden.

Fab view out to the sailing boats bobbing about on Little Oneroa. Very friendly and accommodating host - happy to give us a late check out.
Micha (10/5): Perfectly romantic and beautiful view! - Extremely wonderful stay, would recommend to any couples or singles! Absolutely beautiful view of the ocean and wonderful room (heated floors in bathrooms, espresso machine, lovely balcony with chairs and view, complimentary champagne, toaster + microwave, comfy bath robes) and the hosts were super friendly, helped us to reserve dinner, easy to reach, and even offered us a free ride back to the ferry on check out! Very walkable to the city center. Nothing, it was perfect!

Has a lovely trip and hope to visit again soon! Wish we could have stayed longer!

Christine (8/5): Beautiful place to stay - would go again - Well provisioned, clean, beautiful outlook. I didn’t find the bed overly comfortable. There were garden lights that stayed on all night but I had an eye mask.
Amy (8/5): Nice flat with good view and convenient location - Felt secluded yet a close drive to oneroa shops and beaches. Nice view of the ocean. Nice outdoor area for kids to play. Back bedroom is large but windows are small so quite dark. Living space felt a little cramped as it was also a bedroom.
Julianna (8/5): Fantastic accommodation but beware of the climb. - The accommodation itself is absolutely lovely, the owner very nicely left a bottle of wine, milk and some granola and responded to messages quickly. Great views of the beach and very comfy room overall. The accommodation is located at the top of a very steep road. If you aren't driving and depend on the bus to get around, you need to be okay with the climb, especially tough if you have bags with you.

Kate (8/5): Great stay, would recommend to friends. - Great location, serene view, quiet. It was nice to have coffee and cereal available. The listing said 2 bed, 2 bathroom, but there was only 1 bathroom. You have to walk through one "bedroom" to access the second bedroom, so no privacy.

Wendy (8/5): Enjoyable, memorable…. Perfect wee couples getaway!!! - A peaceful destination and quite centrally located. Lovely modern rooms with a generous size bathroom. Bed was comfy. Nice for a couples weekend away. Cereal and coffee etc were available A purpose built in kitchenette would’ve made it better but what was there was sufficient.
