You just have to get a code from front desk and its a parking structure so plenty of parking. Rooms are so quiet, beds comfy and gym is decent. There is even laundry machines which is amazing. Definitely recommend.

I don't like that you can't open the windows and so you have to rely on aircon, even though it's in the middle of Duke Forest. I booked a "superior suite" that said "private bedroom"... um, no, unless there's an actual room with an actual door, it's not a private bedroom. I felt completely mislead and cheated out of what I thought I was getting vs what I got. The room also felt tired and none too clean (old stains on the floor, window sills clearly last cleaned months or years ago, etc). I am also super-sensitive/allergic to smells, and the room smelled of one of those artificial fresheners that cheap hotels use to cover up bad smells - instant migraine, thanks! The gentleman at the front desk was not helpful and looked like our questions - such as how do we actually find our room or how do we do laundry - were unheard of and bothering him. No water bottles, nothing. Overall, for over $500 a night, this is ridiculous. Don't stay here, find some generic brand hotel with all the amenities and actually helpful staff for half the price. That's what I am doing next time for sure.

Always clean, team is very professional and food is fantastic. Conference Center and food service team provide exceptional service and keep the area clean with without interruptions. Beds are comfortable with ample warm bedding to adjust to your needs. Atmosphere is calm, professional and enjoyable. Rooms offer large picture windows for view of the manicured grounds. Room service is prompt and the meals are delicious and visually appealing. Parking garage onsite is spacious, secure and nearby with a clear path to the hotel. Hotel does offer valet service. Definitely a wonderful place to stay for business or pleasure.

It has a superior location, luxurious accommodations, and excellent food. Because the Internet doesn’t work, the phones don’t work. No explanation why. The sinks are clogged up… No explanation why. There’s no hot water in the shower… No explanation why. The management response to these problems consists of giggling, and ‘Unfortunately, we’re not sure what’s going on.’ The really funny thing about this is that this hotel is run by a business school. A real cascading series of incompetencies here.

- C5839RMrichardv (10/5): A Very Pleasant Time (Despite the Snowflakes) - We had an excellent stay at the lovely JB Duke Hotel during the recent unusual NC snowstorm. The hotel is stylishly modern and very well maintained. The staff (desk, bellmen, servers) were all extremely friendly and welcoming, helpful and efficient. As we recalled from our student days, any appreciable snowfall essentially shuts the state down (quaint for those of us from the much snowier northeast). The hotel, however, was a perfect place to be marooned for the storm as our room was very comfortable and well-equipped and the hotel's common spaces and restaurants/bar provided a good break when we needed food and drink or just wanted to stretch our legs. The hotel was also very conveniently located as we had Duke basketball tickets (men's and women's teams), needed to restock our Duke gear at the Bryan Center and pause to take in the Duke Chapel and its impressive organ. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we will be back (although we do like to alternate with stays at the sister hotel Washington Duke Inn for a different but equally enjoyable experience).

The winter storm almost waylaid our plans to see the basketball game, but we were reassured when we contacted the hotel that 'they weren't missing a beat.' Our stay was lovely, we were well fed, and we enjoyed the basketball game!

- ericgI6054XF (8/5): The level of accomodations you'd expect from a Duke-run hotel! - It's a good vibe at the JB Duke, especially if you're doing things campus-related. The shuttle is exceptional, the lodging is nice, although a little corporate, and the Duke-vibe is good, though not over the top. The food is good, though I would stay away from the quesadillas. That is all - enjoy staying in Duke forest, too! There is a lot of games played with lodging rates. They best one I've found is directly on their site, at least 3 days in advance. It's even better than the alumni rate, oddly.
- Zen45 (10/5): Wonderful Hotel - This was our 3rd visit to JB Duke while visiting the Duke cancer center from our Asheville home. Our bed/room was very comfortable, and clean, all the amenities we needed were there. The whole hotel is beautiful, with lots of areas to explore. The food was delicious (best omelet ever) I will be going to Duke Raleigh for my next visit in April, we will stay here even though the drive is a bit further from Durham. This is a 5 star experience with an amazing price. I can't recommend JB enough.

- davidtJ4528PD (6/5): Very pleasant hotel but high pet fee - We enjoyed our stay at the JB Duke hotel for the usual reasons: nicely appointed guest rooms, cleanliness, welcoming staff, fitness center, and nice grounds, but also due to its proximity to a 3 mile wooded trail (immediately across the street) and the university. My sole criticism is the pet fee, $150, which was equivalent to the nightly rate for the room. In fairness to the hotel, it provides this rate on its website, which I discovered only after our stay. The hotel advertises itself as pet friendly with a photo of dogs on its website and consequently I had assumed that the rate would be typical of pet friendly hotels, about $50. I suggest the hotel include the pet fee in its booking process to better ensure guests are aware of the cost. The hotel did provide a dog bed, bowl, and blanket which was cute, just not $150 worth of cute.

The rooms are spacious and clean, and the amenities are above average. We generally eat at the marketplace or the lobby, both of which provide you with exemplary food. The staff is friendly and will always find an answer for your questions if they don’t know the answer themselves.

Mr. Douglas at the valet stand was an exceptional standout! Food was great. Exceptional location, especially if attending Duke U games. Despite being sold out due to a conference and Duke U games, the hotel was quiet and service was expedient and efficient. We would definitely stay again.

Food is delicious! Near the Duke Forest for walks and botanical gardens. Well-equipped gym. Ask for floor one room if you want to be right by it. Has water bottle fountains by the bathrooms. Recommend.

- Q7831KLjohnm (6/5): Not worth the price - Parking is "free," but you have to get a card at the front desk every time you want to go out of the parking deck. If you want friends to join you for a drink or a meal, they have to pay to park! The hair dryer in my room was old, cheap, and not very effective. The Keurig coffee in the room was tasteless, and they didn't have half-and-half: just non-dairy creamer. Yuk! The breakfast buffet is $22 a person plus tax and tip. It was OK but overpriced in my opinion.

There were dark hairs all over the bathroom floor and someone had put the toilet paper sticker on the dispenser and it was still there. I went over to the bed because the linens didn't look fresh and there were stains on the blanket and hairs on the duvet. This was on both beds. I called and housekeeping was dispatched but they only changed the linens on one bed and the bathroom was not re-cleaned. The furniture in the lobby was half broken and many of the chair seats were cracked and torn.

- thomasoA2214PO (10/5): A perfect location right on Campus and a stones throw from Cameron Indoor - I am actually amending my review for the JB Duke Hotel since I make a mistake in my initial review and said that the hotel charged for parking, which was incorrect and that was my mistake. The Director of the Rooms Division, Laura, was kind enough to call me to make sure that I wasn't charged (which I wasn't) and to go over my bill with me. So kudos to the JB Duke for excellent customer service and my apologies for misstating their policy - they do not charge any guests for parking. As for the hotel itself, it is perfectly situated for any Duke sporting event since it is right next to Cameron Indoor Stadium and Wallace Wade, and all of the other fields. The hotel has a nice large lobby with a restaurant/bar, sitting area, couches and several large screen TV's for sports viewing. The food and service are very nice. The rooms are nicely appointed and quiet, mostly facing out to a wooded area. I had an Executive King and it was comfortable and had a good sized work area. The JB Duke is directly on campus and so you are near everything, which makes it a perfect place in which to stay, no matter what you are doing at Duke. I would recommend the JB Duke as a premier place to stay while visiting Duke.

I was told sheets would be exchanged in a timely manner, only to have to address the issue again hours later (bed time I might add) when clean sheets hadn't been provided. At this point I was told there was no one from housekeeping working who could exchange them (which I was happy to do myself).

It’s only a short drive to Durham, Cary and even Chapel Hill. The room was spacious and newly renovated. We enjoyed the quietness of the summer time and being able to walk around campus.
