- Lilbert Roy (10/5): - Great place
- josh (10/5): - It was quiet
- Geoffrey (8/5): - Multiple options for fast food all within walking distance or a brief drive-thru visit.
A park across the street has a playground if you travel with the kids.
- ALIDA (10/5): - Rancho inn para mi es un Lugar especial , personal amable me gusta la limpieza , en el 2018 fue mi hogar por muchos meces justo cuando mas lo necesite simpre fueron amables yo lo recomiendo 💯
- Geoffrey (8/5): - Extra deposit is not required
- Vera (4/5): - The bathroom door and walls were very dirty, made me think twice about showering. The bed spread had cigarette burns on it. The area was nice, but people were smoking weed rught out their door in front of management. Housekeeping cleaned my room when was asked not to. Overall a dirty place, i wouldn't have stayed but it was last minute and close to where i needed to be.
- Sean (6/5): - Too many fights second night
- Latonya (2/5): Don’t stay here! - I would not prefer to come here again the room was fair but the bed was very uncomfortable and sank in outdated. It was a car parked behind my car half the night which made me very uncomfortable. They did not have enough towels loud music was playing outside. I will never go here again I checked out early it was so uncomfortable.
- Whitney (10/5): - Staff is really nice
- Tak Ping (10/5): - Friendly staffs.
- Flavio (10/5): - Recommend
- Paul (8/5): - It's a basic hotel with minimal amenities. Glad to see a microwave oven and free parking. Everything worked. Check-in and checkout was uneventful.
- Jessica (8/5): - Good
- Molly (10/5): - A little noisy room next to me. But overall good.
- Geoffrey (6/5): - no surprise deposit required here
some places like to hide it in the online contract , so you think you paid in advance, but not quite.
El Rancho checks you in easy with a smile!
- Minase (6/5): - They surprise you with hidden fees
- Jevon (10/5): Very relaxing - Always the best. Complete staff is very hospitable.
- Nicole (10/5): - This place is really good and clean me and my mom were struggling to find a place to stay at but we found this place and it was very nice and tidy.
- Gina (10/5): - Very nice staff and the rooms were very clean
- Verified traveler (2/5): Yuck - The outside made it appear to be nice.. the room was old and outdated. Carpet was stained, broken dresser, dingy towels, blanket was worn old and looked like if you slept on it you might catch something. They had a hollow phone 🤔... the purpose of that. Go figure. I would never book again
- Tiana (10/5): - Nice my spot
- WAYNE (10/5): - Our room was very clean and comfortable. Parking was limited, but convenient.
- charles (2/5): - Not a very nice place needs complete renovation and kind of shady neighborhood
- Joe (2/5): - Bath tub was clogged. Curtains with holes.
- Nichole (4/5): Worst room I’ve stayed in - By far the most disgusting room I’ve ever stayed in. The workers were fine and seemed nice, but the hotel was a complete dump.
- Vera (4/5): - Just dirty and old inside
- Heinz-Dieter (8/5): - Clean room and friendly staff. Will try this motel again.
- Somin (10/5): - It’s not bad For the price. Loved that’s they don’t need a deposit. I would stay again.
- Adam (6/5): - 2 cars parked there and never been moved. To much noisy. And the car alarms going off
- Francis (10/5): - Good economical stay.
- Paul (8/5): Respectable budget motel - A good night's sleep, free parking, good WiFi, refrigerator, microwave and TV. There was an abundance of convenient electrical outlets, but no USB charging ports or alarm clock. Towels were old and worn, but typical of a budget motel. Convenient to LAX, 405 and Harbor freeways. This is obviously not a luxury hotel, nor does it pretend to be, but it is safe, convenient and operated by a competent staff. Excellent breakfast options within 1 mile (look up Chips Diner and Tata's cafe). You'll be glad that El Rancho Inn does not offer a typical hotel breakfast.
- Suzanne (10/5): Overall Great Value at the El Rancho - Clean and comfortable and great value for the money. On site parking and plenty of amenties within walking distance.
- Michael (8/5): - Room was clean front desk girl was nice. Bed was comfy. The shower could have used a better once over but overall I’d stay again.
- Marylee (8/5): - I like that this isn't an all frills place but it's spacious.. the people are nice and it's away from the hustle and bustle of the airport. Perfect 1 night stay. Good price for LA
- joshgX2433YC (2/5): DO NOT BOOK HERE! - DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!, door hinges are half ways put on, outlets are dirty, paint in room is missing in different areas, peek hole does not have the metal thing to close and cleaning person puts toilet paper to cover the hole, doors are dirty, tub was dirty, carpet was dirty, very little toilet paper, missing handles on furniture, sheets were dirty, Fridge and microwave were dirty. they did not want to give me a refund for having a filthy room.
- Suzanne (10/5): Excellent El Rancho experience - comfortable and affordable, bed was super comfortable and the room was a good size
- Norman (10/5): Nice and clean - It suprised nice hotel
- Daniel (10/5): Nice and easy - Easy and painless check-ins. Clean rooms. Not much noise saturation for the next room over. Would book again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Chrg xtra 4 Jacuzzi Jets no work false advertising - It was ok but i booked the jacuzzi room and paid extra for one where the jets worked not for an extra tub with no working jets. Very disappointing.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Dirty place - I checked in and all the lights were flickering as if I was in a scene out of a horror movie .
The sheets smelled funny . Called front desk and nobody would answer and went downstairs and nobody was there . The toilet paper was used , trash cans were full .
- Mark (10/5): No complaints - The rooms there are nice and my stay there was quiet. Nice helpful front desk staff.
No complaints.
- ehbidmon (8/5): Great Pre-Travel Lodging - My family, and just my husband and I, have stayed at the El Rancho Inn many times on nights before flying out of SFO. The staff is courteous and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean. And, the added bonus is that you can store your car there for free for a limited period of time if you book a night either at the beginning or end of your trip. We've used it in the past, and will definitely use it in the future.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Medoicre At Best - Was noisy because of construction which started at 8am. Noisy with traffic. They charge for ice, no breakfast included, just so you know. One side of the bed was partially collapsed, mattress just needs replacing. Located in more industrial area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay at El Rancho - Our stay at El Rancho Inn was very comfortable. Check in was fast and friendly. Our room was clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. It had all the amenities you need, iron, dryer, refrigerator that kept our food cold and a microwave. The shower was nice and hot. There are a lot a places to eat nearby. We will definitely stay here again in the future.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Affordable, a little scary neighborhood. - Difficult to recommend. You get what you pay for. Was very clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel was fine for a quick one night stay but I’d hate to stay more than one night. Bed was rock hard, shower was loud as heck and the shower curtain appeared moldy. Staff was okay, a bit rude and very hard to understand.
- Hong (6/5): Moldy smell and mold in shower - Parking is free but the space was compact parking. On check in around 9pm, the front desk lady greeted me and was expecting me. This place is family owned and they live on site. I was given key quick and went to my room. The room had a moldy smell which I did not like but it was late and the Inn was full.
The room was vacuum and cleaned. I went to take a shower and half the plastic shower curtain was molded. The mold is on the inside of the shower. These curtains are cheap, about $10 less, so I don't understand why they just don't replace it.
- Robert (10/5): Near LAX airport - Noisy area but the unit itself was good
- Hedy (10/5): I'll be back - it was convenient and comfortable
- Sarah (8/5): Overnight stop after landing at LAX - Arrived late - friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Not much to eat in the area but we managed without driving.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Basic Motel - I needed an inexpensive hotel between LAX and Santa Monica for a conference I was attending in late August. This place fit the bill. It's a decent, basic motel but in a not so good area. But some of the reviews did mention that about the area. I definitely would not walk around that area after dark. The staff was nice and the room was very clean. It came with a mini-fridge and microwave oven which was great. There was a Neighborhood Walmart not too far away by car. My room was right above the office on the main street. The noise factor was much quieter than I expected based on previous reviewers. That was probably just good luck. The location is easy access to the freeways. The air conditioner worked great as it was a very warm weekend. Check-in and check-out was easy. My only negative comment about this place is that you have to pay a quarter for ice. I wasn't expecting that. I asked about that on my first night there, and the lady gave me a quarter. I paid for ice the second night. On the fence as to whether I would stay here again or not.
- Crystal (10/5): Exhausted - Well Rested
- R james (8/5): Nice hotel close to light rail and airport - Short stay but nice , service good, liked the location , but some
times a little noisy
- Ronnie (8/5): Perfect For My Needs - We were in town for a concert at the Forum so this place was perfect for our needs. The room was updated and very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The area is not the greatest but it could also be a lot worse. I would gladly stay here again.
- Brian (4/5): You've been warned - I booked this as a last minute idea so I could just wake up and go to LAX. Bad part is, I couldn't sleep. the street is super noisey me the activity doesn't stop. That activity could be wheels squealing, hookers and pimps fighting or transients yelling at themselves. Usually this can be masked with the AC but this AC didn't have a continuous fan option. So when the temp would get below 63, it would shut off and you would immediately be woken by the street sounds. The rooms seemed remodeled so I give them that but ours had some trash under the AC unit from the previous guests. Also the window in the bathroom didn't lock. I doubt anyone if going to scale the wall to try and fit through but it's the illusion of safety I'm looking for. Finally, you know when you go to 7-11 and the guy refuses to get off the phone and really acknowledge you? Same situation here. If you're in a pinch, a heavy sleeper, and like that seedy underbelly this may be the place for you.
- JIm (2/5): DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL! - They were doing and dealing drugs out of room 110 on the main floor. The parking lot stank of drugs. Most of the parking stalls were too small for economy size vehicles. Motel is in a very undesirable area. We had booked online and the hotel would not cancel our reservation but insisted on charging us even though we could not stay there.
- JIm (2/5): Scary. - Stay away from this motel. Unsafe. Drug dealing on premises.
- Karen (8/5): Handicap access room needs upgrades - Friendly staff. The handicap room had a VERY high bed and I couldn't find a way to get up on it. I requested the rollaway bed and because there was another person staying in the room, I was charged $10 a night for the rollaway bed! There was no hand held shower In the bathroom and the commode was about regular height. I made recommendations to the staff about these things and they stated they would make some changes. Overall, it was clean and safe, but it was a good thing I had someone with me to help out or I would not have been able to stay in that particular handicap access room!
- HansForest (6/5): An inexpensive hotel. - For such inexpensive hotel, the room was generally in good condition. The cleaning woman was very polite and cleaned the room every day. It was generally quiet during my 16 day stay, except for one night when a group of guests arrived at 3:00am and talked very loud. I did not hear much of the street traffic, except for police cars. The location of the hotel made it easy to access the west side and the downtown freeways.
- CatSi2013 (6/5): It was clean but very noisy - Stayed for 2 nights and while the room was very clean the noise from the other guests spoilt what could have been a very enjoyable stay! Hearing the police turn up the deal with an angry/shouting guest isn't the best way to start your visit to the USA. On the second night it was guests arriving at about 3:30am loudly discussing their journey on the phone until another guest told them to quieten down! In all this I didn't hear anyone from the hotel staff asking guests to remember that other people were sleeping or asking them to be considerate to others, it's a shame really as I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to others as I fear this isn't a one off and the road noise is very loud.
- renza88 (8/5): A comfortable bed for the night after an exhausting journey. - We chose this motel as we were looking for somewhere cheap and close to the airport. We arrived between 2 and 3am and left at 11am so we can only judge it on the eight or nine hours we spent there, most of which was of us sound asleep (we’d been travelling on planes for more than 24 hours). We slept relatively well for being jetlagged and the bed was comfortable enough. The room itself was clean and tidy, more than I was expecting having experienced other American motels. The amenities seemed pretty good with a microwave, TV and fridge available. The staff we did encounter in our short stay were friendly and polite. We had a bit of a worry when we first arrived as he suggested he didn’t have our booking despite as booking through Priceline in July. I’m not quite sure if this was their fault or Priceline’s fault but everything seemed to be ok in the end. The staff cleaning the rooms in the morning also seemed very friendly saying goodbye to us in the morning and asking us how we enjoyed the stay. The neighbourhood itself is uninteresting but it was a good place to stay before a long drive we had to make the next day.
- Pawel411 (6/5): Good place in an uninteresting neighbourhood - I selected El Rancho Inn as it seemed close to LA Airport, for a couple of nights before my drive to San Diego. As for this price and class the hotel is fine. The staff is nice, rooms clean and I think a lttle bigger than in say Travelodge. Parking is easy, fastfoods around, my neighbours quiet at night.
The bad thing is the city of Hawthorne, at least this part of the city which is fairly uninteresting and rather dirty. Not many places to walk or run in the morning - in fact I drove to neighbouring El Segundo to have a walk.
- varnya (6/5): Pretty average spot - We stayed in this hotel on stopover at LAX. It's about a ten minute taxi ride (there are certainly closer hotels) and the service was pretty poor. But it is cheap and there are food options nearby. The night we stayed there was a fair bit of noise from neighbouring rooms. I wouldn't stay here again.
- 301MichelleM (8/5): My Comfortable Stay - I stayed at this hotel before and never had any problems! My bed was very comfortable, yet they are high but nice! The hotel is ran by there family, they all help each other clean and very nice to there customers. Quiet hotel no riff raff!
Good Price, near food and other stores. Park right across the street if you have children! Good area to be in and not far from the airport or both the 105 & 405!
Cable, free Wi-Fi, Refrigerator and microwave in rooms! A plus if you traveling and need to store snacks and food. A very convenient and comfortable place, Great for the price!
- kleintje78 (6/5): Good price - We booked this hotel based on price, location and the good reviews on another review website. The price is good (for L.A) and, as we had an early morning flight to catch from LAX, the location is good for those needing to get to/from the airport. The girl on reception was friendly and welcoming. We were given a large modernized room on the second floor which was, for the most part, very clean. There was a fridge and a microwave and a large TV and the wifi worked well.
But here's why I am quite surprised by the good reviews. The walls are paper thin and aside from the noise from the traffic, the parking lot and the planes, we were unfortunate enough to have a room next to an extremely amourous couple, (at one point, I wondered whether I should call the police because I didn't know whether the screaming was because someone was being hurt or not), who played loud music until 3am, whose activities actually made our own bed vibrate, who kept coming in and out of their room and going to their car, at one point driving away (leaving the music in their room on full blast) and then coming back 20 mins later. If I hadn't been for the fact we had to get up at 4am to catch a flight and it was already 3am, I would have asked reception to change our room. I didn't sleep at all.
The area itself is not so pleasant after dark - as a woman I would not advise any lone woman to stay there. When we came back late from dinner (12:30 am), there were people in the car park who immediately drove off when we arrived.
Although the bathroom was absolutely spotless, the room itself clean and the sheets of good quality, there were stains on the blue comforter on our bed - I'm pretty sure I don't need to explain what kind of stains they were.
In short, probably the best value option around in the lower price range, but if you're a light sleeper or a lone female, it might not be the place for you.
- JudyL858 (8/5): Great budget motel at a convenient location - Great budget hotel around LA.
Not the closest to DT but highway entrances are close enough to make commute quite easy.
The room was simple and clean. The room comes with a Microwave, a fridge and a coffee maker. Nothing excessive but what you expect for $55 a night?!
The neighborhood is not bad. There are grocery stores ( Costco right cross stree), fast food chains (BK right next door), gas stations, and a small park and rec centre cross the street. I feel pretty safe around the block even late night.
The front desk staff are freindly and helpful.
The only complain I have is the noise level. I got the only room right by the busy street. The ventilation is not the greatest so I could hear the cars a bit too well. But nothing major.
Overall, great value for the money I paid.
