- Andrei (10/5): - I had an amazing stay at Kamunjila Lodge. The property itself is very nice, with a beautiful garden that creates a calm and relaxing atmosphere. What really made the experience special was the staff, the chef and the reception lady were incredibly kind and welcoming, and everything truly felt like home. They went above and beyond to accommodate me, even preparing specific meals that were not on the menu, which I really appreciated. The whole stay felt genuine The only small downside is that some of the furniture feels a bit outdated and could be improved to better match the overall quality of the place
- Ndanduleni (7/5): The staff where very friendly and the whole experience was good - I did not eat breakfast but lunch The entrance which is damaged
- Sara (9/5): We had amazing two days at the lodge, Its the perfect place to visit the victoria falls and the staff makes this Place s - Most Heartful welcome, we really felt at Home from the beginning, the service was exceptional, the food was amazing, on request silvia organized traditionell sambian food, which was delicious
- Hanna (7/5): -
- Erland (8/5): Calm, quiet and serene. - It was a nice and comfortable lodge. I wasn't looking for a fancy resort, just a place I could get some rest as I explored the city. The staff were friendly and also very accommodating, especially since I had early mornings. They would even prepare some items for me to leave with, if I was leaving before the kitchen opened in the morning. They also tried their best to cater to my dietary needs.

- Siyunyi (9/5): Perfect! - Breakfast was excellent and served with smiles. The manager and staff went beyond to make us comfortable Mosquitoes, esp first night. But was given spray the following night.
- JJKruger (10/5): - Super friendly and attentive staff. Good food, and very clean facilities. Absolutely nothing

- Elena (10/5): The perfect oasis in Livingstone. - Chill vibe, great staff, fantastic garden. Everything you need while travelling, clean and neat. Good WiFi, even managed to work. Decent breakfast to fuel visits to Vic Falls. N.a.

- Jochem (8/5): Very pleasant - Staff was perfect

- Shantel (10/5): I loved everything and I will definitely be coming back. - Everything!!!
I loved everything about the lodge.
The staff were sooo nice & the food was beautiful.
Everyone was friendly and I felt welcomed.
I stayed 2 days in the lodge and 2 days in a hotel and I didn’t want to leave the lodge to go to the hotel.
I felt safe and the manager made me feel so comfortable as I travelled alone.
The room was clean, there were no bugs inside which I was worried about so it was great. The shower was powerful and water was hot.
After staying in a hotel after I actually preferred the lodge as i felt more like I was in Africa and I felt there was more interaction with people. It’s very peaceful and I would definitely be coming back. I can’t wait Can’t think of anything
- ann (8/5): Lovely spot great chef - The chef was delightful to talk to and a great cook.
Lovely to see the artist.
But I was told it was fine for a driver to transfer me to another place 2mjn away in Livingstone. Then suddenly it want and I had an unpleasant unexpected negotiation fir a taxi which was not a pleaseant experience.

- Ingeborg (10/5): Wonderstay stay in Livingstone - Lovely stay at Kamunjila - everybody was incredible welcoming, friendly and helpful with arranging activities and/or arranging transport to restaurants etc. Also breakfast and diner was well arranged. We had a great time, many thanks!
- Laura (7/5): -
- Mario (7/5): Good value for money. Quiet. - Location.
Staff. Ants in the shower but when reported, cleaning staff came and cleaned it. However, more ants came up in the shower the following day. Needs attention.
- Mah (10/5): Perfect for short stay. - Everything I needed, clean, good food, staff were lovely!
- Mária (9/5): -
- Patricia (10/5): -
- Pedro (9/5): Superb - Wonderful staff, they were very kind in giving an extra room at no request. Good garden and pool to read or just stay there.
- Cummings (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (10/5): I will come back - being lost nothing
- Manon (10/5): Exceptional - I had a wonderful stay at Kamunjila Lodge in Zambia—such a peaceful and welcoming place. The garden is lush and beautifully kept, creating a true little oasis. The room was spacious, clean, and full of charm. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, making me feel right at home. I would absolutely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Livingstone!
- Antonio (8/5): Good place to stay - Location
Kind staff Very basic rooms
Electricity shortages (you can’t use A/C)
- David (10/5): Make a reservation. You won’t regret it. - Attention to detail to all facilities.
Approachable and friendly staff.
Meal presentation was excellent and tasted delicious.
- Mirna (7/5): Good -
- Katlego (7/5): Overall I had a great stay and enjoyed my trip - The lodge is situated very close to the main town, walking distance to most shops and the Livingstone Museum. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The lodge is kept tidy and clean, the surrounding trees and plants give a peaceful feeling. Zambia is experiencing a lot of power cuts but I hardly noticed when I was at the lodge because there's solar power that powers the lights and plugs when there are power cuts. It takes a bit of effort to get the shower water temperature just right and I would have appreciated more communal areas to sit, read and relax away from the dining area. A lot of the activities and food are charged in dollars which can be quite expensive if you are using a weaker currency.
- Nicole (8/5): Everything we needed - We had everything we needed and it was all clean, staff very friendly and helpful
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good - Dinner options at the lodge were tasty. Walk into town took a little longer than we had hoped but able to find viable if infrequent fresh and fast-food items at the locals shops. Air con is subject to power cuts but mostly on during the evenings/nighttime.
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely stay ..pool was used every day..staff were lovely and made our stay special for my family..accommodation excellent No negative
- Ishmael (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff and value for money The location on Google Maps takes you to the wrong place, asked staff to look into it and also would be nice to have more food options at the restaurant.
- Gavin (6/5): Nice, Helpful Staff. Comfy Stay. - Friendly Staff. Sizeable Room. Comfy Bed. I was a little disappointed that the pool's water was cloudy and the walls and floor of it felt slimy. One of the main reasons I chose Kamunjila was for the pool which looked great in the photos, but ... Anyway, I only went in once, on the first day.
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Twaambo (10/5): It was worth it - Loved the area and facilities Breakfast could have more variety. Like a full English,
- Helena (10/5): The best of the best!!! - Kamunjila is not only a lodge to stay, it is an experience. Highly recommended, if 10 is maximum, this one is 10+. The premises are beautiful if you look for something authentic. Kamunjila staff is professional, welcoming, understandable, and always ready to help. The lodge is a great example of sustainability, proximity, and awareness. You need to go to understand. If you like to taste local meal, go for the fish from the Zambezi river, try nshima or taste mango picked up for you straight from the tree. Enjoy the garden and hear the stories about plants and animals from the local expert, great guide! Get impressed by the talented artist painting in the garden. My stay was wonderful. Thank you Kamunjila!!!!!
- Kok (9/5): Nice stay - Home sweet home, garden style of lodge staff very helpful and friendly, they even offer me a free laundry service, really nice, very comfortable staying here, recommended.
- Tamara (10/5): Exceptional - We really enjoyed our stay in the Kamunjila Lodge. We used to swimming pool, had delicious breakfast and its not far from the center. I think it's a bit to expensive, but we had a good time and we would stay there again.
The garden was absolutely beautiful, they had Mango trees and the room was also really spacious!
- Anna (9/5): Great experience in Livingstone - Helpful and caring staff, clean rooms, comfortable rest area. None
- Deborah (10/5): Beautiful spot - Very nice and helpful staff and a beautiful garden
- Mihaela (10/5): Perfect base in Livingstone! - Quiet location, welcoming and friendly staff, spacious and clean room with a big and comfortable bed, great food at the restaurant - it was the perfect base in Livingstone for some memorable activities.
Walking distance from the Livingstone museum.
They can organize activities and transfers, all went very smoothly.
Good internet.
- Nicholas (7/5): Good value for money. - Transfers were very well managed as was an afternoon game drive activity. A warm welcome. Pretty grounds. Safe and a short walk into town. Room was large with king bed. In many ways it was an ideal overnight stop on my journey home. The food (breakfast and dinner) were a little disappointing, acknowledging the budget nature of the accommodation. The room’s curtains were a poor fit. The wifi went down with the power outage but returned when the sun started to activate the solar panels around 7.40am.
- Matt (9/5): Welcome to the jungle - Kamunjila offers a really pleasant welcome in lush surroundings. I especially enjoyed the proper coffee (after endless Nescafe in Africa) at breakfast and conversations with Francois, the French host, a fountain of knowledge about southern Africa and its magical wildlife. He helped arrange a very worthwhile bicycle tour of local villages and markets for a different perspective on Livingstone.
The room was absolutely fine and, given frequent power outages, it was good that the WiFi worked even during blackouts. I did find the bed a little hard - if you like a soft bed, you may also.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Very peaceful. Staff were wonderful and very flexible. We arrived by bus from Lusaka at about 10pm. I had prearranged dinner and when we arrived, a table was set for us and we were served some delicious hot food.
The lodge arranged a tour of the national park and a sunset cruise on the Zambezi.
They have fast wifi and solar backup for when the electricity goes out.
The rooms were clean and comfortable.
- Stephen (10/5): Excellent - Excellent rooms.
Very relaxing
Helpful, warm, friendly staff
- Carel (8/5): Very good -
- Monicajean (8/5): Friendly, simple, welcoming small lodge. - The welcome was friendly and my room was fine, with a fan for when the electricity for high power appliances (like aircon) were off (18 hours a day in Livingstone - the kitchen was not affected by this). The bed was quite comfortable, but the pillows were not (glad I always travel with a small one of my own!) - I understand this is a budget place, but they really were cheap. The sheets were quite elderly poly-cotton. However, there was a good mosquito net, the shower room and separate toilet were fine and very clean. The garden is delightfully shady, with a comfortable seating area as well as the dining area. Breakfast was simple, but with an option to have bacon & egg if you wanted. Limited choice at dinner, which is fine by me, and I had delicious salad one night and guacomole (outstanding) as starters the next. Small selection of beers and wine, but perfectly OK. It is within about 15 minutes of the main street and as a single woman I felt perfectly safe walking there & back during the day. Sheets & pillows! Everything else was good for a budget place, the staff were friendly and my room (no 6) was quite close to the dining area, so no worries about finding my way back after dinner - there's sufficient lighting.
- Stephanie (8/5): Very good -
- ravi (8/5): - Great place. Terrific staff. Incredibly eco friendly. Big rooms. Beautiful.
- Rebekka (7/5): Good - It was a nice lodge to stay in and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
- Rigby (9/5): Laid back friendly Lodge with attentive staff. - Very nice room and helpful staff. Menu was varied and always a vegetarian option. Set within a tree enclosed area it felt very relaxing and laid back. Pool good for a plunge not a swim with nice loungers. Tea and coffee always available and the friendly staff will help if you need anything. Omelettes and eggs cooked if you wish at breakfast and fresh fruit in a bowl. Kitchen in view of the restaurant eating area and it feels nice. Load shedding in operation in Zambia but with solar it didn’t affect. You can walk to gift shops. Attentive owner and manager. Breakfast was not very varied and the meals a little toppy price wise.
Pillows were foam filled that had gone into clumps and were quite uncomfortable please replace!
- Azhani (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angus (8/5): Very good - This is a well positioned and in the price range excellent place to stay. Staff are excellent, making it a very easy stay. The curtains could be a bit better, but it was full moon.
- Terry H. (10/5): - Really liked the people and the lodge. But the city or country rations the electricity--in a country that should be exporting hydroelectric power, meant that power was off for hours and wifi was sporadic. Sad.
- David (10/5): Best affordable stay with quality and welcoming staff in Livingstone - Room 1 was so beautiful (local touch, comfortable bed and good shower)
It was the 40th birthday of my girlfriend. She was celebrated by the Lodge to the best with gifts and chocolate cake.
The owner and the staff are really welcoming and supportive. They know all the activities in Zambia and beyond. They organize trips with professionalism with Off Road Safaris.
Best quality for affordable price
Authentic experience Nothing to mention
- Ndashe (8/5): Very good -
- Fasil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martha (8/5): Very good -
- Amanda (10/5): Welcoming! - A calm and comfortable place, the staff was incredibly helpful to make my stay and adventure around Livingstone as smooth as possible. I would warmly recommend. Thanks to Francois and the whole team for your hospitality!
- Elitsa (10/5): Great experience in the Lodge! Friendly, welcoming and supportive hosts. Clean, quite and tranquil garden. Kantu is a gr -
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - The hostes was really warm, kind and welcoming.
The lodge was nice and the location was good as well.
- Hang (5/5): Passable - its a little bit far away from the main street. not sure if there is street light as we went back to the lodge before sunset. we were unlucky (?) to encounter power cut in the evening till next morning. the lodge had power generator but only last for 2 hours. during the power cut period, no wifi was available and we mainly relied on our own flashlight and candle provided by the lodge.
- Lemekeza (6/5): Staff were so great and welcoming. - The breakfast was so basic with same type of food throughout the stay N/A
- Gwyn (9/5): Superb -
- Tendai (8/5): Very good -
- John (10/5): Home away from home - Had a fabulous stay there, very friendly and helpful staff, lovely food, really nice garden to beat the heat. Very central too. All round a great stay.
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (7/5): Good - Nice location , green and leafy - Pool not very clean-diesel maintained, limite good menu, pricey tours
- Martin (7/5): Good - - -
- Vincent (8/5): Paradise off main road - Off a roughly paved road, and through the gates into Kamunjila Lodge opens into a parking space of 6 guest houses, a covered seating area, a restaurant and bar, pool, and spacious garden. Two mango trees produce on the land. You can hear them drop throughout the day. Visitors and staff collect and share them.
Potted plants have Ignacio’s, the local artist, artwork of African animals in tasteful black and white. During season much of the food is from the property’s crops. Birds can be heard in the distance and the faint sound of children playing.
I was warmly greeted by Yothame and shown to my double room that was larger than I had imagined and clean. Separate rooms for shower and toilet, desk, and suitcase stand. After showering off my flight I joined Yothame at the bar and scheduled the adventures I was keen to try. Then I spent the rest of the day soaking in the beauty of the garden and resting from my travels.
It has only been a few days, but they have been memorable. Including seeing both sides of Victoria Falls, leaning over the falls at Devil’s Pool, and watching the sun set with the hippos. Bathroom smelled of mildew
- Nancy (5/5): ANTICLIMAX TO MY HOLIDAY - That the staff were friendly The distance from proper facilities:bars, restaurants, victoria falls
- Olga (9/5): Superb - Lovely quiet place close to the airport and to the center of the city.
- Tegbar (8/5): Very good - The staff were customer-focused and cooperative. The greenery and quietness were refreshing. The off road tour cars were good. The bathroom and the worms.
- Kevan (10/5): - Kamunjila is a wonderful place to stay! The property is beautiful & staff were so helpful with making arrangements to visit the sites around Livingstone and beyond. The food was really good and they had a number of options to choose from. This lodge really makes you feel like you’re at home.
- Jun (9/5): Superb - The staff are really nice and helpful, the breakfast is tasty and the garden is lovely.
- Marga (7/5): Good -
- Abdullah (7/5): Good -
- Kevin (10/5): - Kamunjila had a very homely , local feel and the staff were always very attentive and welcoming. It’s not as flash as other hotels or as near to the falls as other places but you get a very personal service in beautiful natural surroundings, and an insight of how the locals live. It was very quiet and relaxing at the lodge and you could walk in to town and get taken places by drivers at the lodge or local taxi drivers at a very reasonable rate. The lodge itself was reasonably priced which meant we could spend more on trips. We went to the waterfront hotels to eat and see the sunset a couple of times and there were plenty of options to eat in the town. Also the lodge offer food as and what you need it. We were mother and daughter travelling alone, and felt safe and looked after. The staff were very helpful. Thank you Kamunjila team.
- Abdullah (6/5): Kamunjila Lodge - The manager and the entire staff were helpful and welcoming,
But If you use to high end hotels this lodge is definitely not for you. The room,
The floor is slippery, the bed is short and uncomfortable, and the room is missing safety deposit box.
- Magda (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. It was a lovely calm and convenient place.
- Janine (9/5): Relaxed, very clean accommodation in a garden. - Loved the staff, the garden location. Relaxed atmosphere. Attention to care for guests was exemplary. Everything was super clean. A lovely place to stay. If you ask, they'll make you traditional Zambian food. Great breakfast. A daily blackboard menu, reasonably priced. It's a measure of how much we enjoyed staying here that the less than good mattress, and less than good shower did not put us off.
- Kristen (10/5): An Eco-Friendly Gem - We ended up staying here quite by accident as the place I had booked earlier had made a mistake leaving me with a few days before our trip to find somewhere else. Thankfully there was one room left at Kamunjila.
Kamunjila Lodge surpassed our expectations. Silvia, the receptionist was beyond helpful and friendly. The cook was talented and could even make dishes for our picky kids. The owner gave us great tips for going between the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides of Victoria Falls.
I loved the laid back, warm, and friendly atmosphere. The rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable with room for our sons and my husband and I connected by the bathroom so it felt like a little apartment. The pool was lovely, they have an on-site artist you can watch work, and they even mailed my postcards for me (*even though I may be the only person left who still sends them!)
I highly recommend you give them a try.
- Paula (10/5): Exceptional - extremely nice staff and comfortable rooms
- Elizabeth (10/5): Wonderful, welcoming stay at Kamunjila - We really enjoyed our stay at Kamunjila and everyone made us feel welcome! The rooms, pool, and other areas look just like the photos. The rooms were simple but use some eco-features, which I appreciated. The food was excellent and it was convenient having the restaurant and bar there when we returned from activities each day - the staff were wonderful and very accommodating. The pool was also very refreshing. Everything was very clean and the neighboring area is nice (I took runs on the sidewalks every morning). I would stay here again!
- Ubikvitent (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely lodge with cabins in a garden with walking distance to everything in central Livingstone. The staff is incredible, helpful and friendly. There is nothing not to like.
