Guest Reviews
- 701julenec (10/5): Lovely hotel off the beaten path - We had a lovely and very memorable stay at this wonderful hotel including a delicious dinner (deep fried sea bass filet) by the river after a beautiful evening swim. The staff are gracious, professional and knowledgeable. We hope to return one day.
- Detlev (8/5): - *
- dennis (6/5): - Stayed on a weekday and arrived just before 8pm. To find out that all facilities other than registration were closed. No food. No bar no pool. And there are no restaurants nearby Would have been nice to know that during the week the place is generally empty and they don’t provide food and beverage service.
- B6403ABginah (4/5): GForce - Booked in our tour itinerary- a great disappointment. We were told this would be a mid range 4 star Resort. Nothing of the sort. The door to our room would not lock so we had to take all our belongings with us. Place looked fairly run down and not designed for international travellers at all. Breakfast was very limited. Although the staff were very pleasant we were so grateful for a one night stop over only.
- Elsa (10/5): Geweldig - Het was een geweldig verblijf de personal top klantvriendelijk
- Pamela (10/5): - Beautiful hotel with jungle plants all around and next to the river. We watched the sunrise every morning and saw many birds including a kingfisher. The amazing monitor lizards were swimming in the river one day. The staff were so kind and the bicycles were free so we explored locally. A perfect place to stay rather than the noise of the city.
- arna (10/5): - Nice people and quiet
- MObelf (8/5): A very peaceful resort - Whilst the rooms in this resort tend to be a little old-fashioned, they are clean and adequate. The staff here are so friendly and helpful, including the wonderful spa staff. Dinner outdoors by the river on both evenings of our stay was delicious. My one criticism is the breakfast! On both occasions the food was only just warm. Other than that, a lovely peaceful, relaxing place to stay.
- Charles (10/5): - Très bien placé au calme, au bord de la rivière. Logement dans des bungalow confortables, préférer le premier étage.
- Dazzer6666 (8/5): Nice retreat - Lovely hotel on the riverbank with fantastic views. Wasn’t too busy when we stayed (1 night only), pool areas were virtually deserted and the restaurant was nowhere near full. Comfortable room with good bathroom, wifi, tv etc. Good food at both dinner and breakfast.
- MASAHIDE (4/5): - I did lost way because wrong map of booking websight
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful Thai style housing.
Staff and Service very good.
- karensI6126UG (8/5): Relaxing Stay - We stayed in a villa with a pool, very quiet, relaxing atmosphere.Room was clean and comfortable, good selection of food for breakfast. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening, very tasty and well presented, not all the staff speak good English,so sometimes a little difficult to communicate. A good base to visit the many local temples and floating market also the amazing market on the train tracks is nearby and worth a visit.
- BabeJaa (8/5): A Beautiful resort at Amphawa with Maeklong riverside - I recommended Baan Amphawa resort and spa which is located by Maeklong riverside in Samutsongkarm province Amphawa. The resort design Thai traditional retro style with Many big trees nice surrounding. Free Bicycle ride around resort area. Boat trip available for traveller. Many Temple close by.
Recommended Super deluxe pool suite Thai village house with pool. The Bedroom is very beautiful and cozy, Clean and big bathroom. Good service and Delicious Thai food with reasonable price. Resort has separate 2 big swimming pool.
Thai product minimart available... such as Handmade shower gel, Shampoo, Soap and Thai cloth.
- Roving826429 (10/5): Fantastic place to visit - Nice place, Good foods, fabulous atmosphere, great river views , good service mind and really professional. Place is really relaxing. That is located in a good location because it is close to Aumphawa floating market. The hotel has a shuttle bus service. That is very convenient and comfortable. In my conclusion, this is a place to visit you won’t disappointed.
- AndWeWander (4/5): Lovely place but not the service - This place is a nice resort, only 1.30 hours drive from Bangkok. It’s located by the river and close to the famous Amphawa floating market. Inside the resort is beautiful withThai houses set among green surroundings. We love the open terrace by the river.
We stayed only one night in between of a long weekend. We tried to relax by a pool but we could not really do as it’s so close to the car park and one van was keeping the engine on while they waited for the guests. We sat there for about 15 mins but staff didn’t care to tell them to switch off. So we moved to another pool near a restaurant seek for a quieter area but there was a building work! We called the staff after that and they sent the Marketing manager to help stopping that building work. Thanks to her that we could have a bit of relaxing moment. She also offered us coconut juice and jelly...We don’t really get why the hotel ran the construction on the holidays!
In the morning around 8-10am when we were still sleeping ( our room is on the ground floor) the maid was also cleaning the room upstairs with all possible noises, walking, cleaning, dragging tables..Its understandable that they need to clean the rooms but they should be careful about the noise. If you are planning to book this place, make sure you get the room on the upper floor.
The restaurant service is good. Staff are attentive.
- madbirdy (8/5): Lovely quiet place - Situated about 5 - 10 mins drive from Amphawa floating market, this is in a quiet location. There are 2 small swimming pools, with a jetty along the river located within. A restaurant is also situated at the jetty where breakfast was served. The room itself is a little aged, but it's clean. The bathroom smelled a little unpleasant for some reason, and the shower door did not open/close smoothly. Given a unit on the ground floor facing the back (not along the service road). No view as windows faced the wall of the building beside. Service overall was good. Buffet breakfast was served on one morning and an ala carte breakfast was served on the next morning. Food tasted OK, nothing to shout about. On the day where buffet breakfast was served, the soya bean milk ran out but was not replenished.
- tharathonn (8/5): Good place for Rest - This place is not far from Bangkok. It is suitable for relaxing on the weekend. The surrounding is cool and pleasant. Staffs are very welcome. There are a lot of trees. Besides, you guys can go the Amphawa floating market from the resort's pier.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Toppen resort för avkoppling, god mat och bra poolområde
- KAR56 (8/5): Pleasant Stay - A traditional hotel with enthusiastic staff. The rooms are clean and many are traditionally Thai with dark wood interiors, you can hear noises from other rooms. The breakfast was plentiful with many European and Thai options.
We had a massage at the spa and that was excellent. This is an excellent option for the area.
- JanHana (8/5): Beautiful Spa! - It's hard to upkeep in the tropics. The resort is gorgeous and when it was brand new, it would've been perfect! It still is very nice and rooms were clean. Our tub didn't drain and some of the furniture will need replacing soon due to the mustiness from the tropical clime. They offered water and nice fruit. We traveled with our son and his fiancee and got a villa room with a common living room area separating the bedrooms. It was comfortable. The resort offers complimentary shuttle service to the floating market. The breakfast buffet was average with Western and Thai offerings. We enjoyed the morning alms offerings to the monks by the pool and restaurant at 8am. The highlight of our stay was our massage at the beautiful spa. The exotic decor added to the experience. My therapist was excellent. The deep tissue massage could be painful for some, but, I thought she was well-trained. I had some pain in my shoulder, so, was a bit apprehensive, but, she worked around it until the end and by then it wasn't hurting. The warm compresses felt great and really relaxed me. Yes, it was expensive, but still way less than what you'd pay in the US. You can get a cheap Thai massage somewhere else down the street, but, I thought that the ambience, the well-trained masseuse, and quality was well worth it. It actually added a star to my review of the resort.
- ArjunaNoble2517 (8/5): work&family - Very warm thai stye house with a nature a lot of facilites ext.. take a boat to side seeing and firefly ride a bike around the resort, spa and karoke I am very enjoy this trip with my staffs and my family❤️
- NormLabbe (6/5): Rustic and traditional - We just spent 2 nights at this resort in an out of the way place and there was some good mixed with the bad. Let me start with our room (and rate we paid). The room was small for the rate paid, too high considering the age of the resort and what the room offered. The bathroom smelled and we could hear much of the noise from the room above, stomping of feet. The spa was well appointed and lovely, again the pricing was quite high based on what we have experienced at other hotels in the area. You are basically paying for the facility - the massages were good but it left a sour taste considering the total cost even after a voucher discount.
The restaurant offered a menu of both Thai and Western dishes and we ate here for 2 nights and must say the quality of the dishes was very good, the meals were tasty and reasonably priced. As for breakfast which was included in our room rate, it was average, it was a typical breakfast once again offering both Thai and western selections.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, though little English is spoken. The pool is small but quaint near the restaurant and the pool service was excellent.
Not sure if we would return due to cost paid for what the facility offers.
- kurtlemberger (6/5): Nice Resort, beautiful garden, but very isolated, you need car or motorcycle to get around - The rooms on the riverside of the resort are very nicely furnished, in lovely Thai style wooden houses. Disadvantage is the very thin wooden wall to the adjacent room, thus lack of privacy, you can easily hear your neighbor snoring. What we also missed, was professional information about the attractions in the area and their opening timings! And even the indicated restaurant timings at the resort were incorrect, they closed at 8:30 pm even though 11 PM is indicated, as no one told us we had no dinner coming home from a trip to the floating market (wish by the way was closed as no one told us that it is closed on Mondays. The excursions provided by the Resort are highly overpriced!!!
- richierach (8/5): Nice place ,clean , excellent service ,good food - It is my first time here with my family. I book room in thai style house. My room is clean , not too small near the river and pool. I have dinner at the hotel restaurant, food was delicious and not expensive. The only thing i Don’t like is there is some noice of wood scrap when someone walk at second floor(i live first floor)
- purchases (8/5): Nice 4 star resort - We were upgraded and had a lovely suite but understand the comments of others about resort being well spread. Everywhere was quite save for a business conference which provided entertainment!! We sat beside the river for dinner, shrimp with grapefruit salad, cashew nuts, pork with kale, shrimp with broccoli. Well cooked and served with attentive staff. At breakfast we witnessed the local monks coming to the conference to give blessings and receive gifts. The buffet was a bit of a scrum but good quality food.
- Ukrit (10/5): Recommended! - The hotel is really beautiful, well decorated and designed in antique Thai style, and clean. There's an area you can enjoy breakfast and dinner riverside. The room I stayed is a superior room which is so comfortable. The staffs are friendly and really helpful. I forgot earphones in the room and they made it available to pick up at the front desk right before I requested. Thank you for great experiences there!
- Verified traveler (10/5): บริการดี ได้มาตรฐาน และจะกลับมาพักอีก - อาหารอร่อย และแนะนำให้พักห้องเรือนไทย ได้บรรยากาศไทยดีค่ะ
- Baan amphawa resort (10/5): Great Resort with Friendly Staff - Relaxing
- Wayne (6/5): If you want to veg out for a long weekend - If you stay here I suggest the rooms with their own pool or the top floor rooms. We had a bottom floor room and although it was neat, the noise from the wooden floors above was like elephants running around, especially if they have kids. The restaurant was ok but room service food and food ordered at the pool near the lobby takes a long time. I ordered a club sandwich and by the time I got it the bread was all soggy because it was wrapped in plastic and had sweated for 5 minutes before it was delivered. If you plan on seeing the local attractions, don't go on weekends or public holidays because that's when everyone is there and you will be in single lane traffic for hours. We cancelled several tours because of this. We did manage to see fire flies which we didn't think were real until one flew into the boat we were in which was the highlight of the trip for me. The internet was also reliable and fast
- Karen (10/5): Perfect getaway hotel - We really enjoyed Baan Amphawa. Service was spectacular, beds were comfortable and food was delicious.
- John F (8/5): Great Stay - Nice Resort
- Poreenus (8/5): อัมพวาพาเพลิน - บริการดี สะอาด สวย คุ้ม
