Guest Reviews
- Sherri (10/5): - Friendly staff. Building are filled with so much history. I could spend a day just looking around.
- Terence (10/5): - Great place for a home base while exploring Normandy
- David (10/5): - The property was ideally situated to tour all the surrounding WW2 beaches. A unique property which was fascinating and of a very high standard. Lovely welcome from Ann upon arrival.
- Kiemanh (10/5): - One of the most unique places I’ve stayed. I felt I was transported back to a more calm and charming time.
- Paul M (10/5): - The property is an Aviation Museum itself and the owner loves to explain every artifact and its significance. It is also right on the beach and Port Mulberry.
- Kent (10/5): - Great location for DDay history. DDay Aviators is a gem for those who have an aviation background.
We stayed in a room at another building a short walk from the main house of DDay Aviators where check in and breakfast is served.
The parking was a bit awkward but it’s a small village and all worked out well. Enjoy this unique hotel experience
- Julie (10/5): - What a wonderful place, so unique! We had a fabulous time for my husband’s 70th birthday.
Thank you so much to the owner's and staff, they made it so very special.
- willem (10/5): - fantastic
- Melinda (10/5): - Visiting Normandy area and D-day beaches.
- William Barry (10/5): Lovely hotel near the D Day beaches. - Lovely hotel, full of character and with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Really well situated for the D Day beaches and in particular the Arromanches-les-Bains museum which is just around the corner.
- Charles (10/5): - The house is a WWll museum with a fascinating history.
It’s a beautiful old place.
- Todd (10/5): - This location was just amazing, and Paul was as well!
It is centrally located to most all iconic landmarks & sights.
The neighborhood was well lit, easily accessible and we felt very secure & safe.
Paul, the Host could not have been nicer or any more accommodating to/for us.
Always responded quickly & kindly and made us feel we had known them our entire lives.
I would recommend this location for all these reasons & the fact it was extremely clean-spotless!
The bedding, towels and amenities were above as described on their website.
For so many more reasons that won’t allow here, I would recommend this to all my friends, Family and fellow Travelers!
Thank you once again for an amazing experience! We WILL stay here again!!

- Caroline (10/5): - The B & B was a quiet, home like experience! The owners and staff were amazing and welcoming! The rooms are unique, big, and cozy. Our stay was at the end of our trip and really provided a great ending! We will be back to Normandy and we will be staying at DDay Aviators again!
- Michelle (10/5): Great stay very welcoming - We had a wonderful stay with D Day Aviators, the owners have spent a lot of time and effort on this property which is rich in Aviator history. Very comfortable room, in an excellent location, close to town and the D Day beaches.
- Michael (10/5): - IN THE HEART OF Arromanches-les-Bains! Blocks from the famous beaches! It was like staying in a museum! LOVED IT! Quaint little town - restaurants and pubs in walking distance. If you are a history buff - this is the place! Owner has been 'collecting' for over 22 years! WILL BE BACK AND STAY LONGER!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfectly placed and filled with memorabillia B&B - ‘D Day Aviators’ has two very clean buildings in Arromanches and we enjoyed a really clean, comfortable room and powerful shower in the original and smaller house which is literally a stone’s throw from the beach where the remnants of the Mulberry harbour are visible.
This house, like the one two minutes away where you will be served an elegant breakfast, is packed with masses of aeronautical D Day memorabilia, and the host, who is clearly a genuine enthusiast, will ensure you are given a comprehensive tour of the collections.
Location wise the ‘D-Day hotels’ are perfect for exploring Arromanches on foot and whilst town centre parking is available at a price (charges 9.00 ‘till 18.00), there is a free car park less than 5 minutes walk away. Electric vehicle drivers may wish to ensure they arrive with a good charge as the only charger we could locate in the town was not working when we visited at end June ’23.
- Kathy (8/5): - Cute decor, friendly staff. They do charge extra for some amenities
- Jane (10/5): - This is a beautiful and unique property. The displays of WWII memorabilia are both interesting and respectful. Our room was lovely and very comfortable. The staff with whom I interacted were friendly and helpful. Having trouble finding anything negative! We were worried it would be noisy that close to the main street, but it's on a side street and therefore very quiet. Full marks!
- Susan (10/5): Lovely convenient eclectic hotel - A fabulously eclectic hotel with an extremely friendly host, who would have given as much time as the guest wanted to explain the artefacts on display. SOOO interesting and cleverly incorporated into this themed hotel.
We stayed in the annexe, extremely comfortable and well appointed. Check-in was in the main hotel, which also looked good.
- Catherine (8/5): - Nice room, conveniently located. We were booked in the annex. While Google maps kept trying to get us there, what didn’t show was that it was in a walk only area. Our parking was about 2 blocks away at the main location. Owner very cheery and walked us to where we would be staying
- Kathy (10/5): Perfect place! - D Day Aviators was a PERFECT place to stay if you are here to see the memorials of D Day. The room - A6 is done to honor John Steel but each room and area has many tasteful artifacts from the D Day invasion. The breakfast area is in the Main house (just around the corner) and has uniforms and photos and even music from the 40's playing on an old radio. You could not ask for a cleaner room (with mini kitchen) and more accommodating hosts. The have lived in CA so speak English quite well.
The town is charming and you an stroll for dinner, shopping, the beach and a couple of bars.
- Geoffrey (10/5): Fabulous hotel great hosts a gem of a location - This is a wonderful small hotel hosts Anne-Florence and Paul are lovely they are most welcoming and have filled their premises with fabulous memories of d-day from an aviators perspective with personal stories of the heroes who flew during those times. Bedrooms and Breakfast were great a real gem of a place thank you.
- Denise (8/5): Airplane buffs heaven - It was a little challenging with parking. Plus, we were surprised they would only take cash. But the hostess was sweet and the house is amazing. Especially if you are a pilot or an airplane buff. Beautiful room, modern bathroom, comfortable bed.
- Dale (10/5): Beatiful and relaxing stay - Excellent and relaxing stay. Owners were lovely and very accommodating. Half a block from the beach
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Florence was very helpful and friendly
- Anne (8/5): - It was very quirky and interesting. The aviation memorabilia in the whole house was very interesting. Rooms were furnished to an excellent standard. Host was very enthusiastic and informative. Well worth a stay.
- Lisa (10/5): Terrific host and stay! - Fabulous stay in Arromanches-les-Bains! The residences (there are two around the corner from one another) are filled with authentic memorabilia from the D-Day landings and the air support which was critical to Operation Overlord’s success! Our host Anne-Florence was delightful and full of helpful suggestions to get the most out of our stay in the area! She also makes her own croissants and jams, reason enough to return!! Call her before you arrive as the residences are in a pedestrian only zone and she can help you sort out parking!!
- ccparker (10/5): - we stayed one night here on our driving tour of Normandy. Very cute older building right next to the beach area. We had to park a couple blocks away leaving the car in a lot. The hotel is in a pedestrian area. The room had themed Aviator decor. The bathroom was large and modern. The manager was very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A narrow property down a side road leading directly to the beach, it reflected the owners' love of flying and aviation history. Full of artefacts and information. Quirky and really fun.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Florence was so accommodating and made us breakfast early, when we had a tour booked early. She wanted us to be comfortable. I would highly recommend D Day Aviatora!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hostess, Anne, was amazing! Amazing breakfasts and advice on things to see and places to eat in Normandy. She has many interesting artifacts and photos of WW2 in her home that she is happy to give a tour of. Could not be happier with our stay and cannot wait to go back!
- MB (8/5): - Nice accommodation, comfortable bed & new renovation to bathroom, good location. Florence was very welcoming & warm.
Two small issues :
1) similar to others- we were asked when we arrived what time we wanted our breakfast , so we believed it was included. Just needs to be clarified on arrival..additional $50 euros at end of stay was not expected.
2) our reservation clearly states ‘tax included’ but Florence said it was a mistake & insisted it be added to our bill.
Otherwise we had a lovely stay :)
- James (10/5): - Wonderful B&B. The owner was wonderful and had all the information you could need on the surrounding area sites. She greater ya each morning and the breakfast was good. The Town has many places to eat and was great to visit. When we return we will absolutely stay there again and recommend it highly.
- Joseph (10/5): Good as Gold B&B - The place is lovely on the inside and the owner is a joy to be around. The bed was comfortable and the room was large. It is half a block from Gold beach.
The only drawback was that the nearest cross street is actually a pedestrian mall. Do not trust Barney Google Maps! In order to deliver your bags to the front door, you have to drive the wrong way down a one way street and then drive up the alley. Parking is also a minor problem.
Also, she only uses Hotels.com to hold the room. You must pay in cash.
Despite those issues, I would stay there again.
- Tracie (10/5): Very Nice Place - Charming rooms and close to so many things in Normandy. You are also just steps from the beach. The breakfasts were delicious and filling. The next time I go to Normandy I plan on staying here. The internet in our room was spotty however, there was no problem with it in any of the common areas. The bed was very comfortable, there were lots of choices of tv stations in English and the bathroom was huge. The room also comes with a little kitchenette.
- Lisa (10/5): Travel abroad to visit the Beaches of Normandy. - Anne was an amazingly lovely hostess. We were a very hurried couple arriving late in the day hungry and tired. She welcomed us in and suggested places for us to grab a bite to eat. She is a proud hostess, sharing details of her beautiful home filled with D-Day memories and items from the war. What a treat to enjoy the stories she shared,
- Kit (10/5): - Hostess was fantastic! Went above and beyond!
- Robert (10/5): Fantastic stay - This B&B is amazing. The location is great. It's 1/2 block from Juno Beach in the pedestrian zone. The room was large and very comfortable. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. The owners are extremely friendly and knowledgable, The place is like a small museum with aircraft parts and military items. Paul has stories for all those parts and pictures.. Anna Florence was a delightful hostess. It's a great location for exploring the D-Day beaches. The breakfasts were incredible. Hot croissants and local bakery items. I would stay there again. It was are favorite stay in our two week France trip.
- Lizzy (10/5): - This is a WONDERFUL B&B that should not be missed! The hospitality was top notch and the accommodations warm and homey. Just feet way from the beach of the Winston Churchill Port. By far the best B&B I have stayed at.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved loved this B&B
- Verified traveler (10/5): Aviator’s delight - An excellent location with excellent hosts! If you are driving in you will need to find parking nearby and haul your bags a little distance. Breakfast is excellent! We we’re a bit surprised when charged extra at our departure for it. Thought it was included. Make sure you read your terms when you are room shopping.
It is worth the cost. The location is perfect especially if you are exploring the D-Day beaches and environs. Enjoy!
- Paw (10/5): Perfect hotel for the history lover - We loved our stay with Anne and Paul at the D Day Aviator bed and breakfast. It was like spending the night in a museum. Their hotel is filled with WWII Memorabilia and it’s the perfect location for exploring Normandy. The breakfast that Anne made was the best we have ever had in Europe. If we ever go back to Normandy we will definitely stay there again and will recommend it to friends visiting the area.
- Gino (10/5): D Day Aviators B/B Review - An amazing place to stay. 10 stars in all areas. A great, home cooked breakfast with cheese, yogurt, fresh French breads, eggs and bacon, juice, coffee and of course croissants!! This place was an world war II aviation museum that decorated the entire property with each piece and picture having a story. The B/B was 50 feet to the waters edge where you can go down on the beach and see the remnants of the landings and invasion. I would definitely return this place on any return trip. Very close to all the invasion beaches.
- Scott (8/5): Enjoyable and Friendly - Such friendly in-keepers and very accommodating. Needed to leave early in the morn before breakfast was usually served but they accommodated our early departure. Updated rooms & bathrooms in the heart of Arromonches.
- Steven (10/5): - Owner was great
- edward (10/5): Absolute delight - Brilliant welcome. Spotlessly clean. Beautifully done!!!
- Ly Hong (10/5): D-day beaches - It was very good and centrally located in the D-day beaches area. Would highly recommend the place.
- Gregory (10/5): Amazing place and gracious host - Clean, comfortable, nicely renovated place and an excellent breakfast. We learned a lot with the collection of WW2 aviation from owner who is passionate about history. We already miss Hunter, the resident dog.
You will need to park in the public areas but it was free and available anytime we needed it. It's a 5-8 min walk.
- Michaeol (10/5): Great place to stay, especially for airplane buffs - a great location and a great collection of WWII memorabilia, especially about nearby air operations.
- Jackie (10/5): Peaceful and well situated - Very pleasant husband and wife staff- turned their personal interest in aviation and WWII history into a an interesting, very well decorated home with a delicious and flexible-time breakfast. They are happy to make recommendations for great food/interest/history. Small common areas but very spacious rooms.
The location is awesome, in peaceful Arromanches-les-Bains which has in itself a great 360 cinema, ww2 museum about the Mulberry Port (artificial port set up by the Allies during the battle of Normandy) which you can still see remains of on the beach, which itself is only 20 meters away. Great local food and tourist shops.
Nearby Bayeux only 10-15 min drive, has plenty to see from the tapestry, ww2 museum, art museum, to cathedral.
Most battle of Normandy historic sites within about 1 hour drive east or west of this location makes it very centrally located.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A+ all around! Staff was fantastic. Great location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful Memories in Normandy - My wife and I stayed at D-Day Aviators for 1 night to visit Normandy during our trip to France. We wish we would have planned to stay longer. The town of Arromanches and the surrounding countryside are beautiful. The history of the Normans before and after D-Day is amazing. The hospitality of everyone we met was warm and welcoming.
D-Day Aviators is right in the middle of everything. We walked to great restaurants, local shops and the museum that is dedicated to the success of D-Day and the Allied forces as they pushed east from the Normandy coast. D-Day Aviators is like a small museum as well. There are aircraft parts, pictures and artwork everywhere that illustrate stories about the aircraft and pilots of WWII told by the B&B owners, Anne and Paul. They can tell you about each piece, where it was found and what it meant to the aircraft or pilots of the war. Their knowledge of WWII aviation, personal stories of adventure and fun personalities are a priceless feature of the B&B.
The rooms at D-Day Aviators are full of character and charm. They are newly renovated with more space than most European hotels we have stayed in. The renovations are clean and modest, giving us modern amenities while keeping the feel and warmth of a French country house from the early 1900's. Our room's windows overlooked the courtyard and neighboring rooftops. Our room was comfortable, cozy and very relaxing.
Anne cooked breakfast of eggs, cheeses, and delicious fresh croissants and pastries.
- Adam (10/5): Best B&B I've Seen - This B&B is staffed by the friendliest owner I've ever met. Since the house is practically a WW2 aviation museum, she took the time to explain every artifact. Rooms were immaculate with antique furnishings. Breakfast was amazing. I really hated to leave. I travel a lot and I've never been treated so well.
- Rudy (8/5): Warm & Friendly - We got a warm welcome from our host. Wonderful person. The B2 room was spacious and comfortable. We stayed 1 night en route to France Nord. The historical WW 2 sites and Omaha Beach is a must.
- Brian (10/5): Treated like Royalty! - Out stay at D Day Aviators B&B was truly amazing. Our host and hostess are pilots and the house is furnished with planes and D Day artifacts. Upon our arrival. Our hostess spent an hour showing us the house and giving us history of the area and the significant pieces they have in their home. The breakfast was plentiful and wonderful. We highly recommend this B&B.
