• B6650SXdebbie (2/5): night out in nottingham - well now, where to start. we stayed overnight last night july 12th as we were going to see torvill and dean last skate. when we got into the room ok, was just to put our heads down for the night. didnt poke around looking for anything bad. just literally put our bags down and headed off for the day and night.. strange thing is the fire door to the kitchen was locked. ok. we didnt need a kitchen but this morning the kitchen door was mysteriously open. made a cup of tea for us three but hubby and daughter insisted it was locked yesterday. some skank had obs come into our room whilst we were out. glad i took all our money cards etc with us but they took our house key and hubbys work locker keys off his key fob and left the car keys in the drawer. looks like a housing for dirty migrants. DO NOT STAY HERE.. ps locks changed on our house. dirty scrutters. AVOID
• E5931TQdannym (2/5): Please please please do NOT visit this squalid place!!!! - The only reason this place got a 1 out of five is because trip advisor doesn’t go down to minus!!! This hotel is truly horrendous!! It is some kind of halfway house, council overflow . My colleague found needles and faeces on the floor in his room as well as cobbwebs in the shower. There were no curtains on the broken steel reinforced windows. Everything is falling apart . The noise and behaviour from the other guests is shocking!!! Please don’t mistake me for a snob, my colleague and I are engineers working in the area for 2 nights . We stay in all kinds of places but this is absolutely disgusting!!! I am seriously considering calling environmental health!!!
• stephensD2395QT (10/5): Excellent place for families - Excellent service excellent staff superb rooms wonderful place and so helpful for families Could not do enough for my family while I was away and were si kind and explaining everything to my wife and kids. The only thing I feels improving is the security at the front reception as my wife said two people claiming to be council members managed to get up to my wife's room withing being invited or requested. I had to phone the police in the end who were excellent. Oh and more pillows please

• oliviar319 (2/5): Worst hotel I have ever stayed in! - This place was absolutely filthy with stains everywhere from the sheets to the carpets. They hadn’t even bothered to clean the bathroom the toilet was dirty with an unemptied bin and hair round the sink. They hadn’t bothered to make any repairs to the room with various things hanging of the walls and the curtains barely staying on. This place is a health and safety hazard shouldn’t be allowed to operate as a hotel!
• 781mohsena (2/5): This hotel is the worst place I have ever stayed in. - The entire place was dirty and in need of a major renovation. The shower ceiling was covered in mould, the toilet brush was not present, the shower riser rail was missing ends, and there was no shower or hand wash. TV reception was very poor and most of the major channels were absent. There was no fire safety note. I would never recommend this hotel and give it a negative rating.

To call this a "hotel" is an absolute joke and should be reported to trading standards immediately and taken off the market. I booked for 1 night . when we drove up , I thought it was the wrong place as it looked derelict. with blank'd out and broken windows. from the outside The Tudor house hotel looked like a very poor shelter for the homeless. when we were shown our room we could not believe it!!! it stunk of all sorts of nasties. the room was in a disgusting state with missing drawer fronts and a broken window. we spent less then 5 minutes in our room before leaving for another booking made whilst reeling from what we had been conned into. I wish I had taken photo's! What really gets me, after reading of the poor experiences of so many others, is that they have been getting away with this for over 20 years. Surely there should be some form of inspection/approvals that these lazy con artists should have to go through? I would strongly advise NOT to book this god forsaken place. The only thing the Tudor House Hotel is good for is DEMOLITION!
• 745philipc (2/5): What a Train-Crash - what a train-crash ! this place is dreadful! if I had not paid in advance I would have walked out. the place is in a state of poor repair and not very clean my room STUNK of drains (I sprayed my aftershave around to mask the stink) windows open all the time . the shower was actually quite clean despite the smell from the drain. one towel provided was thread bare. the bed was surprisingly quite comfortable with clean linen (that would have been the final straw if it was dirty) . cables all over the place plugged into an extension lead no toiletries - only a few sachets of coffee and a couple of milks - nothing to stir with (?) asked for some teabags - still waiting for em! the room next to mine was occupied by god knows who - last night the were playing music until 2am then shouting the odds until three - what a shower of T...ts there is no food available and to call this place a HOTEL is a joke. the only positive for me was the parking and the location. STAY AWAY . . .
• P5083BGanthonyb (2/5): Avoid like the plague it’s terrible seen better prison cells - AVOID. . Nasty room down a dingy ally way room smelt so dirty no window should no way be let as a hotel room . It’s used as a half way house for homeless and refugees was told by taxi driver . Fire alarms set off twice in night told recess he said I’m so sorry I think she knew how terrible it is we wasn’t even allowed inside the actual hotel as you check in in a kiosk style of place I wouldn’t even leave my cat here for a night . Feel we were robbed at £60 for a night only one step up from being on the streets was definitely the feel here . A thick long hair stuck to the wall in shower room
• MacDDD (2/5): Avoid. - Shame you can’t leave zero! Checked in and walked out 30 minutes later. Place is shabby and dirty, mould and grime all over the place. Bed might as well have had no mattress. The smell of skunk was nauseating and the neighbours had terrible taste in music which they seemed intent on sharing, the half a little tube of shower gel was the crowning glory. It really shouldn’t be advertised as a hotel.

• Sherpa307867 (2/5): Filthy homeless hostel - What a scary place to go… this place is used as a homeless hostel to keep the statutory homeless figures down.. adults with drug and alcohol dependency issues are housed here. The place is filthy, in desperate need of repair and refurbishment. The police are in attendance on a regular basis. I was offered a place here as a homeless disabled mum with two children.
• corriner106 (2/5): Avoid this dive - The place was dirty, dated, and absolutely stank. We arrived late, so there no chance of booking another hotel, though we were extremely tempted. The flooring was lifting in places, dust, dirt, and spiders all over the apartment. The first night we stayed in what I assume is the living area with beds in and it was so noisy, unsure if from downstairs residents (pretty sure this hotel doubles as a halfway house or housing shelter) or from the pub across the road. One of the beds was so rickety I was scared to move as I thought it would collapes. The second night we slept in the other room and it was a bit better. The shower had very low water pressure. Just avoid staying here and save your money.
• Anthony (4/5): Very disappointing. - The whole place needs a refurb, it's very dated. There was an awful smell through the corridor. Cobwebs all over the apartment, damp in the bathroom. Flooring lifting in places. Loud music playing till the early hours, unsure of this was from downstairs or the pub across the road. One of the beds was very precarious, wheels may have been broken.

• laurenmH8877KS (2/5): AVOID - BORDERLINE BROTHEL - If i could give this hotel a zero or minus star I would. the photos online look average however the hotel is the most awful place to walk this earth. the room was disgusting, burn marks all over the cabinet (clearly from junkies and their spoons!), bathroom light didn’t work and only a bath option. was so bad we walked into the room and walked straight back out and booked a different hotel down the street within 10 minutes. we were only looking for somewhere to sleep for 1 night and we couldn’t bring ourselves to stay here. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
• JANMARKET (6/5): Budget hotel, but not up to scratch - Reception staff were helpful, had car park back & front, the room was freshly painted. BUT, Tv no sound did complain but no one fixed it , very uncomfortable bed but they did give us extra quilt to put on mattress. Nowhere to put your clothes , not even a coat hooks, only one bath towel between us, no toilet roll holder, room was not cleaned for the 4 days we were there, no coffee and tea replaced, no toiletries or toilet paper replaced, no clean towels replaced. Never before stopped in a hotel or B&B that’s not cleaned everyday. Would not not return.

AVOID - Me and my partner booked to stay here for a night as there were no other hotels that were affordable last minute. The hotel stunk really bad and it looked like a crack house as soon as you walk in. I didn’t even expect a ‘nice’ hotel as it was cheaper than the rest however this hotel should not even be fit for business. The hotel room had blood/ some other stains all over the place. It looked like mould was in our room and there were cracks everywhere. The window wouldn’t even shut, the whole room was absolutely filthy and that is an understatement, it was completely unhygienic I thought I was going to catch a disease just from entering the room. Me and my partner knew instantly we would ask for a refund and needed to leave. I didn’t even want to sit on the bed. There were people loitering around taking drugs in and outside the premises. Hotel also houses homeless people btw which they don’t tell you. To make it worse, the woman on the front desk refused to refund me due to entering the room- I pointed out all the health hazards and fobbed me off saying the manager was going to ring me tomorrow. I had to chase them up with multiple calls before I even spoke to the manager. Still refused refund and told me I had to try get one via lastminute.com, who then told me that the hotel should refund me. Never did. To be honest I wasn’t even bothered about getting the money back I was just angry they’re actually still allowed open for business considering the actual horror state of this hotel. Better of sleeping on the streets. Reporting to trading standards.

We were supposed to stay 2 nights but leaving at 8am as soon as the manager comes in to issue a refund. Absolutely disgusting. Can’t even sleep due to the heat and unable to open the windows. So angry.
• Angela (4/5): Steer clear - We rejected the first room there was hair on the bed, floor and in the shower room. There were used wipes stuffed on top of the radiator. Dust and dirt all round the room. Rubbish on the toilet floor. We were given a smaller 2nd room the beds and room were acceptable the bathroom was moldy and smelly. The walkways are grotty and the carpets are filthy. Despite saying no smoking it smells strongly of cigars.

• Joe (6/5): Ebbers - The Tudor house hotel - Family stay in a very basic room which overlooks a very busy road with lots of traffic throughout the night. and while we were there the pub opposite the hotel played very loud music outside till after half past midnight. the other nights lots of people shouting and talking loudly outside the pub we were only there to sleep what little we managed during our stay as we were out early and back late when we got back late there was never enough room to park outside hotel parking area so had to park behind the pub in the parking bays there.

No wardrobe in the room no headboard on the beds and the walls are so thin you can hear everything. A chap was on the phone most of the night and all we could hear was his conversation. • Chris (6/5): Tatty but cheap - You get what you pay for. Pluses - very cheap, comfy bed with clean linen and a clean bathroom, TV. Minuses - very tatty, very old carpets, blinds barely kept the sun out - and one window had nothing covering it at all. No extras (towels, fan, aircon etc). But if you just want a cheap bed for the night, which we did, no complaints.
• Andrew (6/5): True account of my stay - It is was not good altogether. Some of the facilities were lacking. The state of the room was a shabby to say the least . The bed kept moving. It was quite hot in there. The floor was a bit creaky. Not enough towels in the bathroom.

The hotel is in a very good and convenient location: plenty and different type of restaurants to choice from, nearby supermarket and easy access to public transport system.

Some improvements have been made since other reviews, with new doors and some room fittings updated. The general condition of the room was average though and a slight smell of stale smoke meant we did not wish to hang around. That said it sufficed and the presumably the owners reflect the shortcomings in the low cost we paid.

I work all over nationally and internationally, staying away 200+ days/year but have never seen anything as bad as this in the UK. HOTELS.COM NEED TO REMOVE THIS PROPERTY FROM THEIR SITE.

For the price I shouldn't be surprised, but the rooms were in disrepair and lacked a good cleaning. They look nothing like the photos displayed. With some elbow grease this place has a lot of potential.

• Gbolahan (10/5): Nice Hotel - I always like to stay in Ebers Hotel each time that Im in Nottingham. The hotel is cool, comfortable and located near to good restaurants and grocery shops. But above all, the hotel personnel are very helpful. This is most important, of all.

Receptionist was great and sorted us out another room finally but when we got in there the single bed frame was broken which they said they would fix but never do don the 1st night so I had to sleep on the floor. The shower had no temperature gauge so it was scolding hot They did fix the frame by the 2nd night but I daren’t move as it was still dodgy What we paid was great value for 2 nights but now I see why it was so cheap
• Lee (6/5): Get what you pay for - One night stay for night out in Nottingham . If your not fussy about where you lay your head for a short while , this is just the job. Cheap and no frills , I mean no frills. In need of a major makeover and some rooms have been done. Its certainly not the Ritz but it did the job for the money we paid .

• Olatunji (8/5): Nice hotel not far from city centre - I stayed here for three (3) nights and it was a wonderful experience. It was a one bedroom apartment with standard kitchen facilities (no cookware or cutleries though). Serene and safe place on a major road and has a supermarket just opposite the place. Would love to stay again when next I visit Nottingham.

The property is very tired and in need of decoration / refurbishment and the rooms are basic, but that would come at a cost. It seemed mostly clean but there was some food left in the kitchen cupboards and it obviously hadn't had a thorough clean.

• A (8/5): Good Value. - Needed a budget overnight bed after in Nottingham. This place was fine, easy check in (& out), clean and warm with everything I wanted in the room. Easy to park then walk into & out of town for the a gig.

It’s filthy, condensation pouring down the windows, people coming in and out as they wanted through front door, we didn’t feel safe staying there as 2 women. Really awful place

• Sally (8/5): Very affordable and surprisingly comfy - This hotel is heaps cheaper than anywhere else in Nottingham and its really not that bad. Sure the place would benefit from a refurb, but our room was more than adequate. The beds were clean and very comfortable and the bathroom had soap and shower gels. It only took around 15 minutes to walk into town, the taxi back cost £13 (it was 1 o'clock in the morning!). Would definitely stay here again.

• Fozia (8/5): - The staff were friendly and rooms were decent size. Just feel like the rooms could do with fresh paint and new carpets. Overall, it was a lovely experience
• Christine (10/5): Ebers Hotel - Basic hotel. No breakfast option but lovely cafe 50 yards away which does full breakfast.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel is extremely dated and in need of some renovation. The carpets are worn and torn in places. Curtains do not fit the windows. The windows are rotten and need replacing and dont stay open. The shower is in darkness and has low water pressure. The bathroom floor was spngy where there had obviously been leaks like the one that happened during my stay. The heating is set far too high for comfort. The night porter was not very helpful or knowledgeable regarding any of the issues.
• Verified traveler (2/5): I don’t think I will be staying Eber hotel again. - This this the bed I slept in, it has dry blood and has mould. The doors were half painted, the corridors smelt of urine and damp. The WiFi didn’t work.
• Andrew (2/5): Hostel not hotel - Not like the puctures at all , will never ever stay there again, shouldnt be called a hotel but a homeless shelter, unclean , disgusting, no curtains blinds broke on hot water in the shower that scolds , i cannot say how disgusting filthy drug ridden this place is! Stay well away , or enjoy your bed bug bites.
• Andrew (6/5): Not good - The rooms hallways reception all need updating it looks tired and needs a tin of paint putting on the walls. There was tea and coffee in the room but only one cup on an old very worn table. The bedding was clean but under the pillow cases the pillows were yellow and old. The en-suite bathroom was clean but the shower was luke warm even on full heat. Couldn’t wait to get out as I woke up with cobwebs on me.
• Pradip (2/5): - Room was not clean. Mattress had no padding. Room was smelling. Complained to reception and he agreed with me. Asked for alternative room and was told non available. I decided not to spend the night there and checked out on the same day. Not fit to be a hotel. I would rate it as ZERO.
• KAMALJIT (8/5): Cosy Hotel - Room was cosy but no soap or shampoo in the bathroom. Great price for one night…will stay at this hotel in future

• Brian (2/5): Must Be The Worst B&B in Nottingham!!!!! - No wonder the bookings are non refundable! The good points to this establishment are: Very cheap Yale type lock to secure my room which opened while locked with a gentle push from the hallway. My room had dirt on the walls and carpets. Windows in the room and on suite were wide open when i entered to obviously try and air it, but still had a bad smell. The on suite door was falling apart in my room. No mirror over the sink. The on suite ceiling painted black to cover the damp and mold. Black mold around the shower tray. TV smaller than my laptop which didn't work. I felt sorry for the lady on the front desk when i complained. All she could say was, "I know, I know". We had to break into the only room that was left due to another crap Yale type lock. This room wasn't much better, but at least the TV worked and there was a mirror above the sink. Had to put a chair and a random under the counter fridge which was in the room, behind the door to secure this room for the night. Result !!!!!!! Good luck to all who enter this B&B.
• Thomas (2/5): - The rooms were terrible, there were stains on carpets, stains on the walls, wardrobe wasn’t cleaned properly, the walls need re painting, the hotel wasn’t clean, was uncomfortable and would never stay there again.

• Verified traveler (2/5): - Need of serious re-furbishment, Probably the worst hotel I've ever experienced. The staff were friendly though. Hotel should not be allowed to function at such a low standard;
• Kayleigh (2/5): AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE!! - The first place we booked cancelled on us last minute and this was literally the only option available. I wish we never stayed. I don't have enough space to list everything that was wrong with it. We had four rooms booked but actually only used two of them. Rooms that stunk of smoke with windows that wouldn't open, broken door locks, dirty floors, leaking fridge, broken bath panels, broken double bed. One of the rooms was down a corridor that looked like a building site with bare plasterboard on the walls, bare concrete floors, and building materials lined up down the corridor. The whole place is a huge health and safety risk. The receptionist gave us the phone number for a manager in order to arrange a refund for the unused rooms. I called and asked for the manager the day after we stayed and kept being given different times of when she was back in and to call back then, until two days after that when I said I was just being fobbed off every time I called back. The woman I spoke to took the details of my complaint and was just SO rude, full of attitude, and actually said to me "well there's nothing I can do about it because you booked it non-refundable" to which I said I understand it was booked non-refundable, however there was a health and safety risk with staying there which is not our fault. She again gave me attitude but said she'd speak to the manager and call me back. Of course I never heard back! Absolutely appalling service and appalling hotel - AVOID!!
• Reanne (4/5): A little disappointed - Room was bigger then expected. The windows were smashed one wasn't covered up so it was just a hole. No hot water in the shower or shower curtain so soaked the whole bathroom to have a shower.
• christopher (6/5): Ebers review - Not bad at all for the price. Yes, the hotel does need renovation. However, you will not get a five star hotel for the price that you pay. Staff were really friendly. Close to all amenities. Had everything that i required for a few nights stay. Wifi did not work in my room, which was a disappointment as i had a Zoom meeting booked for one of the evenings. But all in all i would stay again and though a tad run down, i would recommend for a no frills place to stay.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel had incorrect booking dates but sorted that for me without much problem. It was cheap and decent for the price. The room was clean but the shower was very low pressure and only just usable. Overall fine for the cost.

• Alison (4/5): Hell hole - Really grim accommodation - had to carry own towels up, no toilet roll, no soap and to say the room was basic would be an understatement. I would not recommend or ever go there again I would rather sleep in a tent! Crumbling and absolutely awful although the staff were lovely

• Mrs (4/5): Couldn’t honestly recommend the Ebers - Staff were fantastic. Room was dirty, was a twin room instead of the double I had booked and paid for! Couldn’t connect to the internet or get any reception on the tv, no towels, plates, cutlery or glasses, just two mugs. A beaten up old sofa with broken bits that dig into you. Called the desk on the first night to say couldn’t get a tv reception, was told that the maintenance man would come and look in the morning.... he never did. Very noisy guests day and night, hard to get any sleep at all. If it wasn’t for the two members of staff I met I’d probably be asking for a refund! But I would certainly never recommend this hotel.
