Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Localização e atendimento são os diferenciais, próximo aos principais pontos de atração e vários restaurantes, bares e cafés e conta com um atendimento muito atencioso.
- Robert (8/5): Romantic Getaway - Decided to take a last minute trip to Cartagena. We booked the deluxe suite. Very comfortable and beautiful room. The other rooms looked a little small. And the deluxe may be a little bit over priced but overall we enjoyed our stay. The hot tub upstairs would not get above 90*.
- Dibble (10/5): Great location/wonderful staff - We booked this property based on information that we could have 3 in the suite since we were traveling with our 17 year. We arrived to find out this was not true. My son ended up sleeping on the couch. This might have been upsetting if not for the wonderful staff. They could not have been nicer or more helpful. Be aware that this is really more of a boutique hotel in a redesigned historic home. The suite is up some steep stairs with no handrail. The other rooms are around a pool in a courtyard configuration. There are also several sitting areas as well as a large table where we were served delicious breakfasts including freshly squeezed juice, fruit, eggs and toast. The location is excellent-within the walled city and close to everything.
- Verified traveler (10/5): aN OASIS IN THE MIDDDLE OF OLD TOWN CARTAGENA - An 18th century house in old town Cartagena with six lovely bedrooms, each with bath, around a center courtyard with swimming pool. and patio..Living room, lounge and dining room (as well as bedrooms) decorated with antique furniture and modern art. Delicious breakfast included with coffee, fresh fruit, egg dish, and rolls. 2 blocks from outer wall, and ocean in one direction, block and a half from cathedral and many other attractions, restaurants, etc in the other. Warning:restaurants need to be booked two days in advance so book before you go if you are only there a short time. :
- Paloma (10/5): - Es caro pero es que todo cartagena es caro , porque es muy turistico
- Rault (8/5): Fantastic boutique hotel in colonial-era house - We stayed in a typical hotel a few nights and Casa Mejia a few nights. This boutique hotel is an authentic colonial-era villa, with central courtyard with a pool, open-air living room-turned-lobby, beautiful landscaping and charming staff. The hot tub on the roof was a great touch, with gorgeous lush foliage and tropical flowers. One morning we had a light drizzle and it was supremely relaxing to sit next to the pool and hear the rain on the garden and pool while drinking our cafe con leche.
The bathrooms are sumptuously updated with large exposed-brick showers and the rooms have great AC.
The tree-frogs can be loud - bring ear plugs!
Fantastic hotel - highly recommended. The staff was great and I’d stay again in a heartbeat.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quaint, beautiful AND well-located
- Right in the Old City, what was once a private home shines as a great, smaller hotel with a local feel and modern conveniences (they accurately call themselves a "casa" because that's how it feels. Staying in a beautiful home but doing your own thing). The room and bathroom were both large spaces, the cute pool was right outside our room. Very quiet. Come and go as you please with your own keys to the front door and everything in the Old City is in walking distance. It's as if you step through the little front door and leave the busier parts of town to be in your own special, serene space. A lovely woman will make you breakfast up until 10 and Miguel at the front desk can answer your questions. AC in our bedroom but not in the bathroom (by design and no big deal). Wifi was always up and strong. To add to ambience, they would each day, for a bit, activate a soothing oil diffuser and every night we came home to new bottles of water and glasses. There was a fridge and a safe (though the safe was not bolted down to anything). On our way back into the states, an immigration official asked where we stayed in Cartagena because he wants to visit and we highly recommended Casa Mejia.
- G (10/5): Great boutique hotel in the walled city - We stayed with my family (2 adults and 2 children) and the hotel turned out very well.
The rooms are very nice and are few.
The breakfast and pools are excellent.
The interior decoration of the hotel is very nice.
All the hotel staff treated us very well.
- Kristofer (8/5): Nice place - A nice place in the walled city. Beautiful hotel. I had to be moved to a nearby hotel due to some electric work in the hotel and the staff took care of everything. Very accommodating.
- Justin (10/5): Great Location and Great Stay - I had a great stay at Casa Mejia and would stay again. Check-in was a smooth process and the room/bathroom were clean, spacious, and well furnished. Upon arrival, the house manager delivered a refreshing glass of lemonade to my room and made sure I was satisfied with everything. I got a good night's rest and had a very relaxing breakfast and coffee by the pool. The hotel is ideally situated in a great part of Cartagena, right down the street from Carmen and central to everything. The pool area and rooftop were very relaxing and I would highly recommend it to a friend/family.
