• Emma (9/5): - Absolutely lovely staff, so helpful and thoughtful. Nice big room with comfy beds and nice view. Good to be out of the centre of town with the traffic but easy to walk / tuk tuk into town too. Good to be able to use the kitchen too. Good value for money. Would definitely stay again if we were back.

• Anupama (9/5): One of the best stays in Nuwaraeliya - The rooms are so clean and the beds are comfortable and warm. You can make tea/coffee in the shared kitchen. Each room has a television. The balcony provides a scenic view of nuwaraeliya town, including race course , gregory lake, and mountains, etc. The manager is so helpful and friendly. Parking is available Bathroom facilities can be improved. But they are clean.

The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable. The room was warm and cozy, and the carpeted floor kept the cold away, which was a great touch. We stayed in a shared balcony room, and it was really good! The balcony view was beautiful, perfect for relaxing. They also had hot water available, which was very convenient. Parking was hassle-free, and the hotel truly offers great value for money. Even though we arrived late, the staff was understanding and accommodating, making check-in smooth. Definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay!

• Madhawa (1/5): My stay at Royal Mound Hotel in Nuwara Eliya was disappointing. - Staff is good. Friendly. I had a very disappointing experience during my stay at the Royal Mound Hotel in Nuwara Eliya. The review on Booking.com was completely misleading and did not reflect the actual conditions of the hotel. The room door could not be securely closed, and there were holes in it, making it possible for someone to see inside from outside. One of the window locks was broken, and the room lacked privacy as hotel staff or other guests could easily walk around and peer into the room. The hot water supply was insufficient, with barely enough for one person. The sink was dirty, and the tap was broken. Very small space in bathroom. The bathroom walls were unclean and had broken holes, creating an unsafe environment. The parking area was inadequate, making it difficult to park a car. I strongly advise others not to rely solely on the reviews provided, as they do not reflect the true quality of the accommodation. I was highly disappointed with my stay.

The staff were welcoming and friendly and organised a scooter for us. There’s no kettle or mini fridge but to be honest it really didn’t matter. We’d gladly stay again.

The management was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The facilities were excellent, including ample parking and a convenient shared kitchen. The hotel’s location is perfect, being very close to the town. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I would give them a 10/10 star rating. Highly recommended! The bath room is small and dark. There is some stairs and it is a little difficult. The location is not too far from the city but you really need a tuk tuk because it is like climbing to reach the property.

I didn’t know an awful lot about the place on arrival so staying here was ideal as I had a much better idea after about 10 minutes. Scooter rental also possible here which made it convenient for travelling to Horton plains and the tea plantations. The accommodation itself is also really well kept. Would recommend 100%.

Since we had an Electric Car, they were very supportive and provided a 15A plug for recharging the car and did not accept money for charging the car. The bed covers may need replacing as we felt there might have been some dust mites.

It is located 10 minutes to the bus station and center of town (walking) or 2 minutes away by tuktuk (250-400 rupees). Gregory lake is just nearby. The owner is just an amazing guy. He's always ready to provide information about nearby attractions and transportation. The room is provided with toilet paper and fresh sheets. There is a kitchen you can use to make coffee/tea. This place offers the best value for money in nuwara eliya - and you'll have a fun time staying here! We'll definitely be back. Everything was great!

Noise from a local gathering in the car park area one night (music and loud chatting) which was right behind our room. When it got past 11pm we had to ask them to be quiet!

The rooms had absolutely no soundproofing. We were tired from a long day of travelling and wanted a good night sleep, but loud chatter could be heard clear as day late into the evening, and we were awoken around 6:15 by the same issue.

Bathroom was in good condictions including towels and soap. Everything was clean. Staff was very friendly and professional. Hotel has good facilities (table, chairs, couches,...) to take something and relax. Beautiful views from the terrace. Laundry service is possible and good price. I recommend it. Nothing.

We only stayed one night - because we were on a race, but if we had booked in for more, we would have moved to a different hotel. Sorry. :( I would say the pictures are accurate, but those brown bed covers - they need changing. I doubt they were changed between customers. The bedroom was a two double beds, with horrible bedspreads on it, and no sheet. You couldn't help thinking how many people had been under those before you - we didn't really want to sleep there, but it was late at night, we were tired and didn't have much choice. There was food under the bed - and it wasn't ours.
