- Deborah (8/5): Charming Japanese private home in great area, but … - An excellent location, in the heart of the Higashiyama district, close to major temples, museums, the river and the Gion district; also close to the railway station. Cute Japanese style house with enough room for 3 generations of our family and well serviced. This is a Japanese style home with only futons to sleep on, low tables and not a chair or sofa in the house! The ceilings were also very low for our tall Aussie men. Charming but not very comfortable after a couple of days.

Thee en koffie aanwezig. Lawson om de hoek. Top service. Aanrader deze plaats! Boven was het een beetje te warm om te slapen (augustus) en de 'tuin' en het bad had ik ietsje groter verwacht. Lage doorgang bij de keuken, regelmatig ons hoofd gestoten. Maar futiliteiten vergeleken bij de voordelen.

- Ena (10/5): We loved it - We liked the traditional interior and experience It was a bit cold to shower as there wasn't heating in the bathroom, it's good if you are soaking in the hot bath, but showering only was a bit uncomfortable

- Lee (10/5): Immerse yourself in Japanese family living and walk to see the great temples and shrines - Unique Japanese style older house. Very close to temples and park. Within walking distance to the Gion area for great food. Great instruction manual in English for operating everything in the house. No easy way to get from the train station to this place except by taxi. Bit of a pain for large families even if you're trying to travel light. But it's still doable.
