• vicss2022 (10/5): Great stay at this charming hotel. - We spent three nights in Kathmandu at the Traditional Comfort Hotel. What a beautiful oasis in a wonderfully crazy city. From the moment we walked through the doors we were looked after with a welcome drink after a long, hot flight to Nepal. We were given great recommendations and nothing was ever too much trouble. We had a delicious breakfast every day in the hotel and also ate there one evening. The curry’s were great and we ate them in the rooftop bar with stunning views of the city. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and perfect for our short stay. We have had a lovely time here. Thank you.

The rooms and communal areas were tidy and inviting, but what stood out the most was the friendly and supportive staff. I particularly want to highlight that Anzila at the reception was extremely helpful during my stay with all my inquiries and requirements. I will certainly choose this hotel for my next visit to Kathmandu.

I stayed there two separated times, she still remembered me. And don’t forget to try her coffees. She made very good coffees no matter mocha or cappuccino. And I want to thank you Abishek. He also remembered me I stayed there two times. My request was a bit difficult but he was able to assist me, he is patient and kind. His communication with other departments were very fast as well. They helped me to cope with the civil unrest in Nepal and gave excellent advice about what to do and what not to do. They spoke English well and provided very good service. It was a pleaser to interact with them.

• 235berta (10/5): This is the place to stay - Every city has a few perfect hotels, where price, amenities, staff, and location all combine into a place you enjoy and feel good about. Traditional Comfort is one of those. It's a relatively new hotel (2015 they told me), but traditionally designed. The rooms are large and have character. The common areas are comfortable and inviting, and the rooftop is one of the best in a city where every hotel, bar, and cafe has one. But the staff is what outs it over the top. Friendly, competent; always someone around when you need them. And like most exceptional hotels, there are standout staff among an otherwise strong crew. Here it's Santosh. Friendly and good at his job, he works in the restaurant and at the rooftop bar, a warm and friendly presence wherever he is. Clientele was mostly Everest Base Camp groups when I was there's spending a night on their way to or from, but this is a place that'll reward several-night stays as you get to know the city beyond Thamel.
• I3125YNkristyl (10/5): Loved my stay at Traditional Comfort - The beds are so comfy. The staff are lovely and know your name and what room you are staying in, the food is good also. My favourite place in the hotel was the rooftop, I spent many of my afternoons there, sitting back with my favourite beer The Gorkha and watching the world below. Location is great too, not a very far stroll into Thamel to do some shopping.

The rooms are so comfortable and the team couldn’t be better, particularly Lija and Santosh who took care of us at breakfast every morning. The location is also quite convenient to most things in Kathmandu and the price point is good.

The rooftop restaurant was a great place to dine. Lija served us lunch and was very pleasant - a delightful young lady.

The breakfast buffet had a great selection and I can particularly recommend the masala omelettes. Lija Khaticoada always gave us a warm welcome, was incredibly attentive and makes the best coffee. From the incredible staff, to the location in Kathmandu to the traditional architecture and detailing in the building I can thoroughly recommend this hotel as a great base.

• dorinp228 (10/5): Sleep tight in nepalese hand made cotton - Exactly how the hotel name suggested, traditional, rustic, clean, very welcoming stuff, at the reception, restaurant, hotel shuttle. After a 14 hours flight to reach there, I fell asleep almost instantly, but was not only the tiredness, it was a very comfort feeling....the bed liners, as I found later on, made from Nepalese hand made 100% cotton, so I need it to have them. Thanks to the hotel manager and their support for Kiran Namaste, one of the sustainability initiatives for single women, I got my three sets of bed liners that I brought back to Canada as a great souvenir.

Nice hotel, spacious rooms, good facilities, staff and supervisor (Ramesh Oli) were very helpful. I would recommend this hotel. The price of the hotel is reasonable and its near the shops and atm machines.
• leannet445 (10/5): A warm welcome to Kathmandu - I stayed here with my dad in August as we were doing the Everest Base Camp trek, and what an absolute delight it was. The rooms are clean, simple and comfortable. What more do you need? Fresh bedding, towels and refilled toiletries every day, unless you specifically request otherwise. The rooms are larger than I anticipated and the shower is actually quite powerful. They also provide bottled water for each guest and the usual tea/coffee facilities, alongside a mini fridge. All the food at the hotel is tasty with a wide variety of choices from a range of cuisines. When you can get a cocktail (they struggled with some of the spirit supplies when I was there) oh my they are powerful! Hats off the the chefs and staff as they are so attentive all the time. Our air conditioning was broke and they fixed it within the hour. The golden jewel of this hotel is absolutely the rooftop bar. I would also like to give a particular shout out to Sanjay, who was mainly on the rooftop when we were there. He honestly went the extra mile with us throughout our stay and just made us feel wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble and he even managed to make a face in our lattes (it did actually look a little like my dad, albeit not as bald). I've never been to the Asian continent before, and what a first experience this was. I loved every single minute, and this hotel was a big part of that experience. A good position too about a 20 minute walk from Thamel. Great location, friendly staff with a good sense of humour and an excellent price. Would 100% stay here again!
• SeaToSkyFamily (10/5): Great value, providing all you need - I was here before and after a trek. The hotel is great value. It's close to the centre (Thamel, 15 minute walk). It is clean, provides a good breakfast, and is relatively quiet (it is away from the main road). The personnel has been very helpful. The room was spacious and allowed for a hot shower.
• 132floral (10/5): An oasis in Kathmandu. - We stayed 3 nights in total, one before heading to Everest Base Camp and 2 when we returned. When we returned, it felt like coming home. It was an oasis in the bustling city. Very clean rooms, lovely staff, great rooftop patio. We felt at home and we hope to return one day. We can highly recommend.

Stayed in 2 different rooms before and after visiting Pokhara, both were good size. 20 minute walk to Thamel or short cab ride. Enjoyed the momos and breakfast at the restaurant.

Taxi driver was having hard time finding the hotel. Morning staff was very friendly and helpful. We appreciate their hospitality. Rooftop has an amazing view.
• LEE (10/5): - Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, they arranged a (free) very early check in when I was in transit from a motning flight. And also allowed me to take a full hot breskfast buffet when I arrived. Clean, modern, nice rooftop area to chill out/dine or dtink.
• Laverne (8/5): - “Traditional” decor gave ambience to staying in Kathmandu vs everything too modern as in other hotels. Best of all was the staff! Friendly always ready to help. Only disappointment was the lack of variety options on the restaurant menu. I had all my meals at the hotel and in three days wished for more variety and sparkling water. Thank you, Laverne Davies

Love their breakfast and I would definitely recommend this place to others however I didn’t like the fact that rooftop and it edges were filled of dust, I guess it might have come from KYM air pollution.

The staff in particular were wonderful and went above and beyond during my stay, and always with a smile. The rooftop has a gorgeous view of the city ans is the perfect way to end a day of sightseeing.

• caroline (10/5): Lovely hotel, great staff - This is a lovely hotel in Kathmandu. We had a lovely welcome when we arrived and the communal areas are very nice places to sit. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms are very comfortable, nicely decorated and have lovely bathrooms. There is good complimentary wifi access throughout the hotel, including in the rooms. You can either eat on the roof terrace or downstairs and both are great spaces, there is a good menu and the food is very good. I asked if a dish could be made vegetarian and the kitchen were happy to oblige. The roof terrace has a good view over Kathmandu. The hotel is in a good location, about a fifteen minute walk from Thamel - so close enough but far enough away from the hustle and bustle.
