- Megan (8/5): Great all inclusive! Very happy with our stay! - The property here is wonderful, new and clean and modern. The Staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. Our host Laura Flores went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, including chairs reserved, dinner reservations and information about daily activities. The food was very good and the French restaurant Avec was a standout. Restaurant manager Patricia was incredibly sweet and kind. The main issue we had and which was in stark contrast to the rest of our experience here; is that upon arrival we were offered complimentary massages if we would attend a breakfast presentation first thing the following morning to learn about several other hotels that the company had. We were not aware that this was a membership sales pitch because we were unaware that there even was a membership program. We sat through the breakfast without knowing this and then shown an ocean front suite. Afterward we were taken to the offices where we learned that if we pay $40,000 plus annual fees we can get 25% off a room regular rate with the coupons they will give us or a low weekly rate on “nothing special” time shares world wide. The pressure was intense. No time to even consider if this is something we wanted. Make a decision right now, Give us money, Finance the rest. Not worth a massage to be so irritated. I would have never agreed to this had I known.

Building number six smelled like sewage in the hallways. The outside of the building cleanliness is being neglected. The pools are not heated, and all the pools are made of gravel that hurts the bottom of the feet.

Максимально странное отношение персонала. В отеле можно курить только в нескольких местах, ни на пляже, ни в номере на балконе курить нельзя. Мы туристы из Европы, и нам было максимально удивительно, что в номере нет адаптера для европейских розеток. Более менее нормальный кофе есть только в кофейне. Во всех остальных ресторанах и барах кофе максимально отвратительный. Также в отеле слабоватый WiFi, на пляже вообще нет сигнала.

- Mandy (10/5): - The property was stunning and the restaurants were all incredible; we kept debating which restaurant was our favourite and we kept changing our minds because they all wow-ed us in different ways. We loved the adults-only and calm atmosphere of the resort, but there was enough energy around the pools and bar to keep the place lively. The quality of the 24 room service food exceeded all expectations, and we loved lounging on our balcony every morning, enjoying the view of the pools and beach, with our fresh pressed juices and coffee and breakfast. Our favourite perk about Unico 2087 is probably their personalized host service, where they pair each party with a host who texts you daily to help you set up reservations, sort out anything you need in your rooms, provides information on activities or fun things happening around the resort, and checks in regularly to ensure there’s nothing amiss. Our host, Karla, was so incredibly lovely and she made us feel so pampered throughout our week’s stay. She made all our dinner reservations from day one so we would never have to worry about anything, and answered all our questions. She learned our likes and dislikes and made recommendations accordingly. She helped us organize room service mixology sets so we could bartend in our own room.

- Luis (6/5): - UNICO was a bit of a letdown. We chose it for a birthday celebration, expecting to be amazed, but unfortunately that was not the case. On the positive side, the staff was wonderful. Our butler Tony was excellent, and our housekeeper Felicita took great care of us. We had no complaints about their service and they were truly the highlight of our stay. Where things fell short was with the property itself. We were surprised to learn UNICO only opened in 2017 because some areas look much older. The resort is in need of better maintenance and more attention to cleanliness, especially in the pools, hallways and elevators. Another disappointment was the limited dining options during the day, since the only choices for breakfast and lunch were the buffet and the poolside food for lunch. The biggest disappointment was the sales pressure. If you attend their presentation, be prepared because the sales approach is extremely aggressive. After our initial meeting we politely said no thank you, yet three more people approached us trying to sell the same thing. Even after completing a survey at the hotel and expressing how uncomfortable the experience was, the manager still pushed us to buy a membership. Overall the staff’s hospitality was excellent, but the resort itself, the lack of dining variety during the day, and the high-pressure sales tactics made our stay less enjoyable than we had hoped.

We didn’t like how some restaurants were closed on certain days. Theres not much for entertainment there. The spa is really expensive and massages weren’t the best. Room service food was amazing. They really take pride in their food and service. Everyone speaks really good English. Which made our stay very enjoyable. USA transfers was great for transportation from and to airport. Felt really safe with them.

My wife and I went there for our honeymoon and we were blown away at house attentive everyone was and how caring and friendly they were. They acknowledged our honeymoon almost everywhere we went and did some special things in our room for us as well. They were always making sure our stay was perfect and offered to fix anything we needed to make sure we were as comfortable and taken care of as possible. The food was out of this world amazing. My wife is a picky eater and there was not a single complaint about any of the restaurants or the buffet. Everything looked and tasted amazing... I can't single out any restaurant I would recommend because they were all equally mind blowing. Our host was Eduardo, from the moment we got there and met him up until our last day he was amazing. Made all of our reservations and changed any of them that we wanted. He sent us good morning messages everyday asking how our night was and our plans for the day... If we needed anything done in the room to make it better... If we were happy with everything. Extremely caring and professional. Cannot reccomded this place enough, it is well worth the price tag. My wife and I will definitely be coming back.
- Simon (8/5): - Overall. Good dining options, quality of food and drinks are generally very good. Accommodation is modern, clean, comfy beds. We had a swim up pool, a great option. Staff were plentiful and helpful. The concierge was responsive. There were just a couple of negatives that slightly marr the experience.They go hard at you with a heavy sales pitch on the Hard Rock group membership (40-80k commitment). If you sign up for the free massage expect 1.5-2hr where the last 30-45 mins are hard sell through a total of 3-4 reps. It's a bit much and doesn't leave the best taste, even with a free massage this is way too much. The slightly off position on this is, they view the captive audience as fair game for classic hard sell tactics. Additionally, the assumption that everybody that walks through the door is a target for a substantial membership commitment regardless of their family set up and vacation schedule. All while being on vacation at the time. There's a couple of comments on property upkeep. Overall it's very good. But, there are some details that get overlooked, such as tiles falling off the swimup spa. Not deal breaker and easily resolved. The pool dj was very good. It just happened every other day. In all honesty for us, it was a little too quiet without it every day. Equally, evening entertainment was sparse. They could easily have entertainment outside in the evening but choose not too. The "club" area is not conducive to chat, it doesn't really fit.

Since the original visit, the property is starting to show its age a little. Not bad by any means, but it lacks the like new presence it once had. The staff I think was the best yet. The pool crew never left you wanting for a thing. Incredible service. The new French restaurant was a great surprise, and altho we only got to have it once (opening bugs had it down so we couldn't return a second night) it was a delight. Beautiful setting, great food. Truly a delight. Overall still an exceptional stay that I would recommend to anyone looking for a top notch experience.

El check out del cuarto lo hicimos a las 12 no estaba preguntando por late check out. Trabajo en el turismo, un tiempo trabajé por cinco años en recepción y una de las básicas de servicio es internamente verificar y no decirle o hacerle ver al cliente que no le crees y remarcarle que es una excepción. Eso casi me deja un mal sabor de boca.

This resort is overrated on social media but once you experience it in person is the opposite.

The resort is amazing, clean, beautiful, and has an amazing staff. Check-in was relaxing and I did not have to wait like I have at other resorts, the room was modern and comfortable with the staff doing what ever they could to make us feel at home. Our local host/butler Eduardo was fantastic, checking in with us daily, answering questions, helping with reservations and experiences, and making our stay something that I will always remember. One of our favorite experiences was the mixology class, it was an amazing experience and the mixologist was fun and engaging. The food was the best I have had in Mexico, there is something there for everyone. From poolside snacks to room service and restaurants everything was delicious. I am very excited for their new French restaurant to open and am confident that Unico is the only resort I will be going to from now on.

Pools are not clean enough ( hosts during my stay were also probably not the most educated and clean...).overall good experience thanks to the employees there doing their best for you, but a property to improve urgently to match with it price point!

However, our neighbors were awful, loud, smoking marijuana stinking up our balcony, fighting at all hours in the hallways and blasting music until 4AM which made it very difficult to get any rest on what I planned as a restorative vacation. Despite numerous complaints by us and other guests, there was no resolution or concern from the staff beyond, “we issued a warning and hope that it won’t happen again”. We requested to be moved the same evening, and the request fell on deaf ears. We were then left to endure this foolishness for 4 more nights and could not rest at all. It really ruined what would have otherwise been a top tier vacation. The service is otherwise impeccable, the drinks are flowing and top shelf, the property is new and beautiful and the food is awesome for an all inclusive.

From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us like royalty always friendly, kind, and helpful. Since we booked through Expedia, we got a free room upgrade to a stunning swim-up suite, plus spa credits that covered 65% of our massage cost, which was great since spa prices are very high. The food was amazing no buffets (except breaky), just beautifully presented meals at top-notch restaurants, plus 24/7 room service and poolside options. Everything we ordered came hot and exactly on time, with such kind staff delivering it. There were fun daily water activities like spin and aqua fit. The entertainment team made it extra special, Sebastian and Papi Chulos kept us laughing, Ricardo taught the best dance classes, and Manu made bingo so fun! Their energy was infectious! We also loved seeing gentle coatis, iguanas, and lizards around the resort such a cool touch! We also loved that the staff seemed to respect them a lot and let them just do their thing! Lastly I want to give a huge shoutout to our amazing concierge Raul, he was truly a blessing for us he booked all our reservations right when we got there which we were so thankful for! He checked in on us everyday, he made an effort to ask where we were and came to find us at the pool just to chat and ask us if we needed anything! His english was absolutely perfect as well which made him very easy to communicate with and answer any questions we had!

- Arnaldo (8/5): - Overall it was a very solid experience. Food was good and service was great. Cocktails were the thing they did best, everywhere we went they were delicious. Food options did feel a bit limited after a few days. The resort had a horrible smell as you got close to the beach because of seaweed. More so than other places in area so would encourage they increase clean up efforts. While not totally their fault made using the pool only option and smell carried over to the pool area too. Not hotels fault but cab situation was a bit of mess and pricing was all over the place (generally incredibly expensive / inflated) making it economically impractical to leave resort (e.g., round trip to Tulum 30 mins away was $200 or playa del Carmen was $160). Rooms were good, but felt a bit “dirtier” than you would expect for a place of this quality. I probably wouldn’t go back, but could understand if others enjoyed it more than I did.

- BRENDA (10/5): - The property is great, the rooms are good size. The property is located in the middle of a big road between playa del carmen and Tulum and there’s nothing around. You need to take a taxi if you want to go downtown Tulum, or playa del Carmen and the taxi prices are ridiculously expensive. You can’t take uber in here. I would recommend this place if you have a car or if you plan to stay in the hotel the whole time.
- Kim (4/5): - Hotel "orientation" hits you at check-in and is a thinly disguised hour+ long ploy to get you to join their paid hotel club. Intermittent harassment throughout our stay. Service providers are warm and kind people, but the service is very slow. Very, very, very slow. Took over an hour to get a pool towel after request. Some food/ drink orders never showed up at all. Beach is... disgusting. Four-foot-tall drifts of kelp, mulch, garbage, and other waste are not present on the nearby public beach, but in foul-smelling abundance here. Bonus: you can buy weed there... if that appeals to you! The food is good, but almost everyone in our group experienced some gastro-duress. I got full-blown gastroenteritis, and although broth and saltines were available in the restaurants, I could not get room service to deliver either of these items to me. I kinda wish I had bought some weed for the nausea. I can't comment on much else, as I was in bed for 3 of the 5 days there, but the time-share approach to orientation after paying $435 a night was enough to put me off from visiting again.

- Julia (8/5): - We truly enjoyed the stay. The property had simple lines beautifully decorated and very relaxing. Our favorite part was no children. The beach was not the best but was due to the time of the year with the sea algae. Beds are very comfortable and you get a choice of what type and how many pillows you want. Also, you get to choose the aroma therapy for the room. They only have 4 restaurants, our favorite was the Italian but Al of the restaurants have amazing food.
- Silviades (10/5): - Everything at unico was good, the only bad experience i had was at a restaurant at dinner time. I couldn’t go in because I had short sleeves. I understand bout the dress code but I wish the person in charge of getting my dinner set up would have let me know. Overall all was good great hotel.
- Chantel (10/5): - This was my 2nd time visiting this resort and it never disappoints. I was given a personal concierge who made dinner reservations for the entirety of my stay, she sent daily schedules for activities and messaged me every morning and throughout the day to ensure my satisfaction.
- Steven (10/5): - We loved everything about the property! Especially our host, Janet, who arranged all of our incredible excursions for us, and even had a nice bath waiting when we got home. We felt like every meal was delicious. There were no shortage of options and we really felt like we were living in luxury. Also recommend the excursion with zip lining ATB rides in cave swimming. Also, the Mixology class was awesome! We can’t wait to go back.
- Adam (10/5): - My husband and I came for a kid free relaxing vacation and the Unico 2087 did not disappoint. We got a swim out room behind one of the main pools and it was a prime location. Not super private if that’s what you are looking for. But we loved the location. The pool waiter would come by and get us drinks and food. We especially love Daniel and Saul made the best drinks. We would enjoy the main pools in the morning and head to our room pool in the afternoon. We were close enough to the main pool we could still enjoy the music. One of my favorite parts of the day was the crafts the resort put on daily. We painted sunsets and did some bead work. It was lots of fun and gave us neat souvenirs. As for the food it was some of the best food we have ever had on vacation. We tried every restaurant but our two favorites were the Mexican restaurant and the Japanese restaurant. Overall if you are looking for an adults only relaxing vacation we great food this is the resort for you.

They also did nothing to combat the obscene piles of seaweed that suffocated the beach and the nauseating smell was so overwhelming on parts of the resort that it literally made me vomit.

- Katarina (2/5): - Drinks were so watered down. Staff was unwelcoming especially at the restaurants. Beach full of seaweed. It should definitely be a disclosure on the website because I love the beach. Don’t advertise something that we cannot use. We were harassed to sign up for time share/ loyalty program plus all the other promotions starting at the airport. The representatives were so pushy and would not stop calling our phones. Plz be prepared for that. Spa is overly priced and you won’t get the full amount of time. Bar that was supposed to close at 2 closed at midnight. We were kicked out of our swim up pool because it opens/closed at the same time the pool does. Like really? First time getting that so maybe that’s how they all do it , but if that’s the case, it is definitely not worth the extra 200+ dollars. It took housekeeping over three hours to bring us more towels that I had to go out and search for them myself. The air conditioner kept going out. Room service was unavailable and not as advertised . Please please please save your coins. This was by far one of my worst experiences on a resort and made my desire to travel to mexico disinclined. Terrible, terrible, terrible . from the staff to the amenities. From the food to the drinks, just an overall terrible experience please if I could give this place a negative infinity I would.

- Gail (10/5): - I have to explain my experience that I had Unicorn! It was my nieces wedding.I was to walk her up the isle.15 minutes before they were to pick me up in the golf cart the zipper in my dress gets stuck!!!!! I went done to see if any of the staff could help me. No one could get the zipper all the way up .Then a staff member asked me to come in the bathroom to see if she could help me. When she got the zipper up to the top of the dress the whole zipper broke but was still attached at the top! The staff member ask one of the girls to find her needle and thread and she sewed my dress all the way up !!! This women was amazing her name was Karen . She when well over the call of duty . I have never been any where that gave me that much concern or care . She is a model employee, she needs to be recognized for her kindness and effort that she put in to helping me .The wedding was on May 17 ,and Karen is my hero ! Thank you GAIL

- Eileen (4/5): - We have been to several resorts in the Riviera Maya area and we were excited to try this one. Unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations. PROS: the staff was very friendly/attentive, food was good, drinks were great. It’s a smaller resort so it never felt crowded, even though they were at full capacity. CONS: one of our guests had a family medical emergency and could not make the flight. I had put her name for our second room, even though I booked and paid for the trip under my name. Upon check-in, the hotel told us that we would have to pay for another room because that guest was not present. I had contacted the property through Expedia to tell them about this the night prior. I explained our situation and showed my payment receipt and continued to be told that we would have to pay for an additional room. Only after requesting to speak to the manager and showing him my receipt, and an excessive amount of explanation were they willing to let us check in. Additional negatives include: nonexistent beach (about 5 feet thick of seaweed - not the resort’s fault, but they make no attempt to cleaning it up like the other resorts do so the terrible smell walks up to the pool area), very poor Wi-Fi, black bottomed pools felt like stepping into a hot tub (not refreshing), hot bedrooms (thermostat didn’t seem to work well), staff pushing to take their property vacation club tour, tipping required to get room serviced with replenished towels.
