Guest Reviews
- Laurie (7/5): The deadbolt for the room didn't work, and there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher. The shuttle driver, however, w - Away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. For the price, I thought it could have been better provisioned.
- Julie (10/5): -
- JOHN (10/5): - Excellent staff. Perfect location.
- DeVries (10/5): - Good experience.
- Linda (10/5): -
- Mary Jane (8/5): - The location was okay I was surprised there wasn’t a breakfast available
- ROSANNA (9/5): -
- Terry (8/5): -
- Deborah (7/5): - I appreciated the washer and dryer in the room. Rooms did not have instant coffee or tea bags.
Breakfast should be available.
- Hotch (7/5): -
- Kathy (7/5): Nice quiet location a little ways out of town. - Nice staff. Clean room. In the month of November you don’t want to walk downtown because it is dark and along the highway. Would likely stay in downtown during winter months.
- PAWINAPAT (9/5): Totally was good for facilities and friendly stuff. - The reception was friendly and helpful. The facilities was good have an a laundry inside the room.
- Chris (7/5): -
- Ronald (6/5): - Walking distance to downtown. Bathrooms are dated and need to be renovated.
- Rachel (7/5): Good hotel but no transfer! - Good clean hotel, just disappointed that we emailed re the transfer from the airport and when we called for the pickup advised no booking! Had to take taxi costing 30$
- Susan (7/5): Got in late, but had a very safe and comfortable stay. - Nice apt. type. Only stayed one short night. Would have liked to stay longer. Loved how close to Uncruise for my boat trip. Beautiful Humpback Whale sculpture close by.
- Thomas (8/5): - Good location very near downtown and they have a complimentary shuttle service for the airport or ferry terminal!
This property is a GREAT VALUE if you don't want to pay for premium lodging. The suites have a full kitchen and laundry in the room which was super convenient. The walk to a grocery store is only about 10 minutes.
Tip: If you stay here be sure to walk to the waterfront park with the wonderful whale sculpture and fountain. It has amazing water views and is only 1/2 a block away.
We stayed here and didn't need to rent a car.
Note this is not a luxury property, the furnishings are basic but comfortable, there is a lot of room, and everything was very clean. Service was spot on, quick to check me in and out.
- Gunther (10/5): - We were in a unit with full kitchen, separate bedroom, washer and dryer. It was quiet and had a good bed. I am alergic to dustmites and expect to suffer in beds used for commmercial purpose. This was the first hotel i can remember that did not trigger my allergies. The staff was personable and provided suggestions about ammenities in the neighborhood.
- James (8/5): - .
- Frank (10/5): - Pick-up at the airport, Check-in, Service and rooms just perfect
- Matthew (8/5): - Called down to the front desk for a plunger... was told "let me look for one" called back 15 minutes later after hearing nothing and was told to come get it from the front desk...Not anything to ruin my stay but how is that customer service?
- Janet (10/5): - I liked the room having a kitchen and laundry. We saved money by cooking our own meals and doing our own laundry. It was within walkable distance of town. I loved the little park with the whale statue and the boardwalk path. Staff was friendly and would get us extra supplies as needed. There was free transportation to the airport. It was a very comfortable stay!
- eugene (10/5): - Very Nice Suite, Easy Free Parking,
- Christine (6/5): Not a great hotel - It was quite hot when I arrived and the ceiling fans were on but a small free standing fan in the bedroom didn’t work at all. Lots of broken slats on the blinds and quite a few of the outlets didn’t work at all. Seemed a bit underwhelming for the cost.
- Sara (8/5): -
- Barb (1/5): Worse hotel I have ever stayed at - Nothing You promised a shuttle to the airport. When I requested one I was told a days notice was required. I had to pay for a cab. I was never told this when I booked the hotel.
- Mason (10/5): - The hotel is right on a small board walk that is really nice to stroll down day and night. It's also close enough for any able-bodied person to walk into the cruise consumer area for tons of shopping and eating.
- Christina (10/5): - Nice spacious rooms, great location. Liked having a kitchen and fridge and stove.
- Charles (8/5): -
- Lynn (8/5): -
- HAZEL (7/5): - Not applicable Could not check in until 3:00 on the dot.
- Janet (7/5): -
- kenneth (10/5): Right at the base of the mountain in town - It all started with exceptional service from Jeremy. Sent the airport shuttle to us in 5 minutes to bring us to the hotel, snappy check in and were set. The property is right on the edge of town, with a grocery store across the street. Can do the easy sidewalk to town, but the bay sidewalk along side the water much prettier.
Once inside, room much much larger than ever expected and fully equipped with snow capped mountain views. Spotless.
- Vera (9/5): -
- Christopher (10/5): - This was a great base for our Juneau vacation. We loved the kitchen and living room space - it was a comfortable place for hanging out when we weren’t sleeping. There is noise from cars outside, especially when the windows were open to help keep the room cool - but I would stay here again for sure! The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and it was an easy 10 minute walk into downtown Juneau. We loved our stay here!!
- Mellissa (10/5): - Great stay!!
- Fenech (7/5): Mini stay , but worthed - The area is next to a big sculpture of humback whale....nice in the morning, and more so in d Evening
The airport free shuttle is a big plus Unattended reception , and it's a nightmare to answer a phone call
- Lesley (9/5): -
- Patricia (10/5): Good pre-cruise stay - Great proximitry to cruise ship terminal. Very clean and well maintained older hotel. Like a small apt. with a kitchen and separate BR. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very clean but furniture was old and a bit uncomfortable, window blinds need to be replaced with ones that function. Noisy, busy traffic area. Bed was acceptable, small and stiff, I would not have wanted to sleep on it more than the one night pre-cruise.
- Michael (8/5): Good, clean suite with full kitchen and in-room laundry. - No breakfast Noise, cost, distance to dining
- Ivo (5/5): Staff not helping any way - Location Highway noice, personal not helping any manner
- Elizabeth (10/5): Gem of a place to stay in Juneau - This hotel was very walkable to downtown. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We had a problem with the washer in our room, and they allowed us to use a washer in the unoccupied room next door. The lobby has free books to take and browse, like a little library. The suite was great with a full kitchen and our own washer/dryer in our room. There is a great grocery store only 5-10 minute walk away. Wonderful place to stay in Juneau. A bit retro, but very friendly and homey. The hotel shuttle to and from the airport was quick and professional. Honestly, I have no complaints.
- Doug (7/5): Good location and decent place to stay - Location is perfect. The staff was very nice. The room was decent but a bit dated. Honestly, the bed was terrible. We didn’t get much sleep because it was so uncomfortable.
- Janet (7/5): -
- Terry (10/5): -
- Timothy (8/5): - The room was large and plenty big for my family. I did like that. We had trouble checking in. We had to wait 30 minutes for the employee to show up at the front desk to check us in. That is our biggest complaint. It was the middle of the night and we were eager to get some rest.
- Frank (8/5): Very good hotel near Gastineu Channel - Large room with separate bedroom, good pick up from airport, short walk to downtown It would have been nice to include a breakfast
- Derek (7/5): - There was no breakfast. Nearest restaurant was a mile away Room could have been cleaned better. No one came to refresh our room the second day. Early morning front desk person could hear us ring the bell for service because of earbuds
- Cynthia (8/5): Repeat customer - reliable and good value - Always friendly staff. Rooms clean though a bit dated. Nice to have kitchen and washer/dryer. Easy to walk to
Town and hiking.
- Jef (7/5): Goed hotel maar niet meer dan dat - De ligging was best ok, weinig last van lawaai, kamers waren zeer ruim en hadden voldoende comfort De kamers zijn toe aan vernieuwing.
- Justin (10/5): Idyllic location with a fully stocked, small apartment like feel. - We love the location and the views. Also, the room was very clean and laid out in a way that worked for our traveling style. We liked having a separate bedroom and a whole kitchen. Also, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful to us. The only thing that didn’t work for us was staff was unable to pick us up from the ferry terminal at midnight. 24 hour shuttle service would work for a lot more people I think.
- Meng Chu (10/5): -
- Mark (9/5): A bit pricey but exceeded expectations. - Clean little apartment - with washer/dryer and kitchen! Walking distance to downtown and away from cruise madness. Kitchen was a bit under supplied. Pull-out sofabed didn't work until we rearranged the furniture.
- Richard (8/5): - Great people. Not so convenient to the downtown restaurants and bars.
- Darrell (10/5): - They have it down. No worries. Would have liked to have a broader selection on TV but other than that, great stay
- Judy (9/5): Great location and facilities - The staff were variable. Some took great care of us, others were quite casual. Nothing
- steve waite (7/5): OK - Friendly helpful staff Bed, outside noise
- Kevin (6/5): - Called hotel for airport pickup and they seem confused as to picking up guests at airport. Had to call an Uber to get from airport to hotel. Hotel should reimburse customers for Uber costs if they can’t fulfill advertised services
- marie (9/5): - Staff was very helpful about close walks stores exhibits
- ingrid (10/5): - Good location to town and airport. A little loud. But otherwise good choice.
- Kelly (10/5): - Nice 1 bedroom room with a beautiful park strips away. Bonus airport shuttle.
- Katherine (10/5): -
- Barbara (8/5): - Roomy suite, liked having the washer/dryer. Location was convenient but very noisy. No blackout binds to keep the light out all night.
- Walls (7/5): -
- Jake (2/5): - Free shuttle, no AC, Noisy, lacking customer service. Needs improvement.
- Linda (8/5): -
- Zoran (6/5): - If you have a car..hotel was great..no car the extra walking got annoying.
The staff was great and our room was very spacious.
- Nolan (9/5): Great Couple Days In Juneau - We enjoyed all the amenities in the room, including kitchen and washer and dryer unit. Very spacious and comfortable overall. Really had no complaints. The drink vending machine was not working and the location is very functional being on the edge of town but not much is immediately close to the hotel. However nothing was really an issue and if we return to Juneau I did not see any hotel that looked preferable.
- Jill (10/5): Great place to stay - Nice room with full kitchen, separate bedroom and a washer/dryer. WiFi was good. It’s a bit of a walk into downtown but is next to the big whale statue. Clean and comfortable. The airport shuttle was much appreciated. It’s light most of the night in summer. There are blinds but no black out curtains.
- Lisa (8/5): - This hotel was OK for a 2 night stay. We had reserved 2 rooms and 1 of our rooms was not cleaned when we checked in. We had to move to another room. Some staff was very helpful, while others didn't seem to know what they were doing. The traffic noise was very loud day and night.
- Philip (8/5): - 1 BR queen, with sofa bed in large sitting area, full kitchen and fridge. Sofa bed was bad, thin mattress, could feel springs. Had to ask for sofa bed sheets etc but no problem getting them. Shuttle service good, must reserve in advance. Walkable to sights in town though a little further than other downtown hotels. Helpful and friendly staff. Value about average for pricey Juneau in summer.
- Antony (6/5): Overpriced and average at best - It’s not downtown Juneau. It’s a 30 minute walk from downtown- a long walk in the rain. No breakfast or any food available. If I was paying $100-150/night it would have ok value but for nearly $300/night, I expected better, a lot better.
- Jef (7/5): Een oud hotel dat aan renovatie toe is maar dat nog wel degelijk is. - Grote kamer, vriendelijk personeel, gratis shuttle van luchthaven Veel straatlawaai in de kamer
- Richard (10/5): -
- Melanie (8/5): - The suites offer loads of space compared to most hotels and a nice view! Decor is out dated but the space made up for that. Staff was helpful and accommodating
- Susan (10/5): - This was like having our own 1-bedroom apartment, right on the ocean and walking distance to down town. We loved the kitchen and having a washer/dryer. Wonderful place to stay!
- Mitchell (8/5): - Clean, comfortable suite with older amenities. July 3rd was a loud night with local fireworks celebration , but the locals were having a blast (more power to them). About a mile walk to downtown, but it was a nice walk and a welcome after a day of flying.
- EDWARD (7/5): Very responsive to late request for room. - Room. Good pick up and delivery for railroad terminal and airport. Just a little out of downtown but walkable.
- Rinat (8/5): - Staff was friendly. Nice location. Outdated hotel, but they keep it maintained. The bed was not comfortable and the pull out sofa was horrible.
- Judy (8/5): A great place to stay 🙂 - Spacious and warm. Washing machine and dryer. Great kitchen. Some staff were super helpful and some not so much.
- Mary (10/5): - .
- Frederic (6/5): - nice sized rooms, great staff
- Christine (8/5): - Our room was not ready when we arrived, we had to wait almost 1/2 hour because it was not clean yet.
The bathroom did not have any hooks or bars to hang towels on which was frustrating.
- Patricia (10/5): - Staff was super helpful. The property is close the ‘whale sculpture’ and boardwalk. About a mile to Goldbelt tram and cruise ship dock. Bald eagles everywhere!
- Iris (9/5): - Great location. Nice little apartment in walking distance of town.
- Charlotte (8/5): -
- Mark (5/5): adequate, but NOISY! - No AC, only way to cool the room was to open the windows onto a NOISY street.
- Shari (4/5): Juneau hotel - Close to town Had a stale odor, felt old and dated.
- Marian (7/5): - Very clean, easy to find, super nice staff Right next to the highway, no blackout curtains, no AC.
- Randall (9/5): Great place to stay in Juneau. - Clean, friendly staff, peaceful. No A/C. Longer walk to downtown/ cruise ship departure than expected.
- Sharon (8/5): -
- John (9/5): -
- JAMES (8/5): - The staff was very helpful.
- Jennifer (9/5): Super comfortable and great facilities - The hotel, especially the corner suite on the 3rd floor was excellent. Great to have a full kitchen (and a Foodland in easy walking distance). Full laundry in kitchen fabulous and vey efficient. Although an easy and pleasant walk into town along the boardwalk, including the fabulous whale sculpture, it was a little further removed than anticipated, especially in the rain. Completely doable but a surprise.
- Brian (10/5): - Juneau Hotel was a lovely place to stay. A great location within walking distance to everything, but far enough away from where the cruise ships dock to avoid the crowds and all their noise. A quiet, peaceful spot! Service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. The hotel was humble, not fancy, but our room was spacious, comfortable, and had everything we need.
My only issues were very minor ones. To be clear, despite these issues I would happily stay at Juneau Hotel again! Our room was weirdly warm, even though the thermostat was off. We had to spend a lot of time with the windows open. The heaters never felt warm so I don't know where the heat was coming from. The other issue was that the blinds weren't very effective, and since we stayed in June the sun was out 24/7. Both my wife and I still managed to sleep soundly, and I had sleep masks at the ready, but we didn't need them. No matter where I am staying, if I'm going to Alaska in the summer, I'm bringing a sleep mask, so I'd advise other travelers to do the same!
- Melissa (3/5): Adequate but the noise level made it impossible to sleep. - The staff was nice and the location was walkable to town. The traffic noise was the worst ever. I mean it was like sleeping in the middle of a race track. So many non - existent mufflers in Juneau and the cars raced on the Main Street constantly.
- Anna-Maija (9/5): - Everything works very well. There is staff available all the time, and the free shuttle to the airport works very well. The neighborhood looked first slightly industrial and out of the center, but soon it appeared that there is lovely residential area near and the best and only proper supermarket, too. It is also far away from the cruising boats and cruising turists which is quite positive.
