- Richard (7/5): Good location for the caves - Loved the proximity to the caves and the local eateries The bathroom needs to be cleaned thoroughly there was mould in the shower and dust on the architraves Stairs to the rooms.

WE ARRIVED EARLY WHICH WAS NO PROBLEM AT ALL AND MEANT WE COULD TAKE UP THE OFFER OF A CURRY FOR EVENING MEAL. ITS A MUST FOR ALL VISITORS, VERY TASTY. THE ROOM WAS CLEAN BUT IN NEED OF UPDATING HOWEVER WE LEARNT THAT THE OWNERS HAD NOT LONG TAKEN THE BUSINESS OVER AND WERE IN THE PROCESS OF SORTING THINGS OUT. THERE WAS NOTHING THAT WE DID NOT LIKE. OWNERS WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. FOOD FOR EVENING MEAL AND BREAKFAST WAS PLENTIFUL AND TASTY. OUR ONLY ISSUE WAS THAT THE ROOM WAS A LITTLE TIRED BUT IS BEING ADDRESSED. WE WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE GUEST LODGE TO EVERYONE

Complementary continental breakfast was also very welcome. Parking was a bit inconvenient outside the lodge, but we could unload our luggage close to the room before moving the car.

The host was very nice to accomodate breakfast for us a few minutes early so we could get to a tour down the road. Thank you. Small rooms made it a little hard for two people with suitcases.

- Janina (10/5): Nette Guest Lodge fußläufig zu Waitomo Caves - Wir hatten das Zimmer Nr 1 im Obergeschoss. Es war über eine Außentreppe erreichbar, geräumig und gut ausgestattet. Es gab einen Kühlschrank und einen Wasserkocher auf dem Zimmer. Die Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich und das Frühstück in Buffetform nett angerichtet. Man erreicht das Waitomo Touristencenter auch zu Fuß. Gegenüber der Unterkunft ist ein nettes Café - man kann aber auch vorab ein Abendessen (Indian Curry) in der Unterkunft vorbestellen (30NZ$ pP). Für unseren Aufenthalt hat Preis-Leistung absolut gestimmt.

- Lindsey (7/5): Good location - We booked due to the good location close to Waitomo caves. The family running the accommodation were friendly and helpful. We were loaned towels for our black water rafting. Washing and drying facilities afternoon and early evening. Shower was the best we've had for powerful jets and water Room 5 is quite tired. The walls were fibre board and there was quite a bit of noise from things going on around the site. There was an odd smell in the room that I couldn't locate

They clearly care that it runs well. Breakfast was excellent. Location is brilliant for the caves and Kiwi house. Room is well laid out with good use made of the space. He was in #7, which was really spacious and had a large separate bath, with a limited number of steps to the room. I was in #3 with a really nice view and close to the laundry. Manci and family were warm and welcoming hosts. I enjoyed our time with them. The location was wonderful. Close to the caves, and walking distance to food. It didn’t bother me, but if you have limited mobility you might find it a little difficult - some rooms more than others, so contact them to see which would be suitable.

- Susan (10/5): Intimate boutique lodge - This small boutique lodge is wonderful and the hosts are very welcoming. Nice touches with the décor. The room was spacious, bedding comfortable. Fridge, coffee, etc making, wine glasses in room appreciated. The local information booklet gave us ideas for further visits. We had a deck from which we could just walk across to the breakfast and dinner area. It also had seats and table so we could enjoy the evening and the morning. In the end, we didn't leave between our arrival and departure. I had left my kindle at a previous hotel who forwarded it and both the previous hotel and this one were very helpful. It was waiting for me when I arrived. Thankyou! Great location to get to Waitomo Caves - we had booked morning visits and a number of people for our tours were late because they had mistimed their travel (not us though!). Includes breakfast and a chance to catch up with other guests. We chose to have dinner here as well (booked on the day we arrived around 5pm) so caught up with others earlier (we asked if we could join their table). They gave us the menu for the night, we said yes, and we had lovely food at a quite reasonable rate. I did not reduce my score for this but be aware that the lodge is on a hill. You are able to drive up to deliver your luggage and passengers and then park in the street parking below (or just unpack what is needed as per travel in England!). Walking from there to lodge does rely on stairs. I still think the location is wonderful!

Really close ( 5 min walk) to the glow worm cave experience plus you can walk from here to Waitomo view point and to Ruakuri Bush Walk (8Km) all away from the road. Plus only short drives to the other local attractions Marokopa Falls, Piripiri cave and Magapohue Natural Bridge. Can’t think of anything

The staff were great and the home made chicken curry for dinner was awesome. Breakfast basic but totally acceptable. We question whether Room 7 should actually be used. It is adjacent to the private staff quarters separated by locked doors. It is quirky with a corridor through to the bathroom and the staff family could be plainly heard through the doors and walls. Room 1 was very comfortable but up 3 flights of outside stairs - no lift.

Unser Zimmer lag an der Hauptstraße, wo sich nachts die dicken Trucks sehr laut durchfahren. Das Fenster konnte man nur von außen schließen, was nachts ein Verlassen des Zimmers notwendig macht - unmöglich. Da es nicht geschlossen werden konnte, wurde das ganze Zimmer im Laufe der Nacht (4 Grad im März) so kalt, dass man im Bett gefroren hat. Badezimmer winzig. Wenig Platz insgesamt mit viel Gepäck. Das Frühstück ist eher dürftig, aber das wussten wir vorher.

- Joanne (8/5): - Location of lodge close to caves. Very friendly check in experience. Room was clean and comfortable. Lovely continental breakfast selection. Good value for money and great for an overnight stop. That is rained so hard couldn't go out to explore local area!!
- christine (9/5): Parfait - L'établissement est très bien situé, tout près des caves et les propriétaires très accueillants. Le logement est très propre et les lits sont bons. Il y avait juste une connexion wifi qui ne marchait pas bien mais il faut dire que quand nous y étions il faisait très mauvais avec des pluies torrentielles ce qui pouvait l'expliquer.

- Terrence (10/5): Very enjoyable stay. Would stay again. - Location - close to many natural attractions. Clean, spacious, breakfast included. Evening meal available Family owned and run. Very friendly and welcoming. Nothing. Are steps to the rooms which could be an issue for some.
- Günter (10/5): Sehr empfehlenswert! - Sehr freundliche Gastgeber, großes Apartment, Frühstück ok. Besonders positiv war die Möglichkeit, in der Lodge ein sehr gutes Abendessen einzunehmen, das der Gastgeber selbst zubereitet. -

- Dave (10/5): Great location and comfortable rooms. - Great location to see the worm caves, incredible waterfalls 30 minutes away and beautiful natural bridge.
