• Melanie (7/5): Ok - Alle Mitarbeiter waren überaus freundlich und bemüht. Der Ausblick vom Restaurant und Zimmer auf den Lake ist wunderschön. Das Frühstück war sehr schön gemacht mit Obstplatte, Joghurt und Eierspeisen zum bestellen und Toast. Bezahlung ging per Kreditkarte, schönes Badezimmer. Sehr günstiger Preis, die Bilder entsprechen der Realität Ich glaube wir waren nicht die richtigen Gäste für diese Unterkunft, wofür das Haus an sich nicht viel kann. Alle waren sehr bemüht. Uns hat jedoch der Geruch im Haus (Nelken oder so) nicht gut gefallen. Wir hatten das schöne große Galerie zimmer, wobei diese besonders kalt war und da auch der Mini Heizlüfter nicht viel gebracht hat. In der Nacht hat es stark geregnet und das Prasseln hat man sehr laut am Dach gehört. Generell ist das Haus sehr Hellhörig und die Fenster dünn und teilweise mit Schlitzen, wie die kalte Luft rein kommt. Ein Mitarbeiter beim Frühstück war allein für alle Gäste zuständig und es sehr lange gedauert hat. Die Marmelade war sehr künstlich. Ich glaube sie sind noch im Aufbau, da es nicht ganz so professionell rüber kam. Alles in allem ok bis gut, ich würde dort allerdings nicht mehr übernachten wollen.

Repas de grande qualité, cuisine exceptionnelle et raffinée. Service remarquable et humain : lorsque notre enfant a été malade (otite douloureuse), l’équipe a immédiatement organisé la venue d’un médecin et a fourni les antibiotiques nécessaires, ce qui a été très touchant et précieux. Rien à redire, tout a été parfait lors de notre séjour.

• Shayne (7/5): Beautiful view and friendly staff but hotel could use some updates. - The staff, and particularly the manager, were incredibly attentive and welcoming. The lobby is lovely and the view is spectacular while you have breakfast. There was no sound proofing, we could hear people walking outside at night, smell their cigarette smoke in our room, and even the music from down in the town was loud. It was also surprisingly damp for being up in the mountains.

• Benedetta (9/5): - The property is brand new and very nice. The staff is amazing and very friendly and they went out of their way to make us feel at home as we were the only guests there. Our room was small and in the basement. It was comfortable though and I am sure they have other type of rooms so I suggest to book a upper level rather than standard. The hotel is on a hill in front of the lake but a little far from the city center. It’s walking distance to the lake for fitted people.

But what was exceptional was the view of the surroundings and Lake Gregory which was breathtaking - be it early morning, during the day, sunset or at night. The villa is on a hill which is a good 7-10mins uphill climb from the main road by the lake, if you decide to go around on foot, otherwise if you have a vehicle no problem at all.

Daarmee was de sfeer van 'uit eten gaan' een beetje weg. Verder was de keuze van het avondeten beperkt en qua kwaliteit niet het best.

Friendly manager and staff. Heater provided in room. Enjoyed indian meal and dosa for dinner. Chef made dosa sambhar without onion and garlic for mum who doesn't eat them. Nice to have the option of warm water with meal. Only stayed 1 night in Nuwara Eliya and heavy rains when we arrived so unable to explore the surrounding area on foot. Steep steps to climb to reach bed on top floor of room so had to take extra care. Could do with more lighting on top floor as only 1 light so was a bit dark compared to lower floor. Towels on floor in bathroom slipped on floor so have to take care when stepping on them. Mum doesn't eat onion and garlic and there was a piece of onion in her breakfast fruit platter so explained to manager importance of avoiding food contamination as some people may have allergies.
• Pavan (10/5): - Small and cozy boutique hotel with 6 rooms. Staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful and made the stay an absolute delight. The lake view rooms are also amazing - the ones on the ground floor especially so as they have access to a little garden that was a great place to relax in the evening. Would wholeheartedly recommend this to any traveler. The only nit was that food took a really long time - they asked for a 1 hour heads up - but they were upfront about it and we were able to plan accordingly.

Reaching the property is bit of a challenge due to steep incline. However, the property is close to the lake or park so there is some advantage to it.

Great experience overall. The staff was very friendly and polite. The property is located up the hill which gives a great view of Lake Gregory but makes is less accessible for late dinning and hence we depended on the in-house kitchen for the meal which did not meet our expectation. So definitely there is room for improvement with a good chef being appointed for the property.

The combination of exceptional service and beautiful views made it a memorable experience. I recommend this Villa to anyone looking for a relaxing and pampered getaway. Accommodations I stayed in one of the triple rooms, 2 kind size beds – great for a small family. The room was spacious, clean, and offered breathtaking views of Gregory lake-a private balcony. The king-sized bed, and blackout curtains ensured a restful night's sleep. We heard some music in the night from the town itself but it did not disturbed my sleep. The room has modern furnishings and the amenities included an electric kettle, a flat-screen TV with a wide range of channels. Service The staff at Serenus Boutique Villa were exceptional. They were courteous, attentive, and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. From the warm welcome at check-in to the efficient room service and helpful concierge, the entire team was top-notch. Dining I dined at the Serenus Boutique Villa for breakfast and dinner. You have to order your meals ahead of time - the meals we had were extremely delicious, clean, made with fresh ingredients but mostly you can feel the care they were made with. A big kudos to the chef – thanks for accommodating a vegan menu. Located at the edge of Gregory Lake, the view is one of the best. You do have to drive up a steep hill (not too far though) to get to the Villa.

• Damodaran (10/5): A beautiful Villa - We received very warm welcome from everyone at the villa especially Chiran, the Assistant Manager. They were so helpful and attended to all our requests. Ashan, the waiter, always served us with a smile and attended to all our meal needs. Overall, the service provided by everyone in the villa exceeded our expectations! My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cosy villa that faced the lake and beautiful mountains. It is not what we didn't like but some suggestions to further improve the room conditions. The room had only one power point to charge the phones, boil water in the kettle and use the hair dryer. Hope the management can add an additional power point in the room. The adjustable mirror in the toilet was too high and couldn't be lowered. Not suitable for people who are short! The villa provides good breakfast and dinner but no lunch. It would be good if they could add some simple lunch menu for tourists who may want to eat in sometimes.
• Ashok (10/5): Exceptional Stay, Felt special - Staying in this hotel is a mind blowing experience. Hotel is located at an elevated location and just opposite to the beautiful Gregory lake. The sight from hotel room balcony is so picturesque and one can see view of Tea Estate, Beautiful lake and cloud kissing mountain in one frame. Room is very spacious and so is balcony. Room is kind of duplex and quite innovative in design. The hotel staff is very courteous, friendly and helpful. Their kitchen serves very tasty food and we all enjoyed. They have DJ room, Shishaw bar and firewood place too. We stayed there for one night and wanted to stay more but we had other things planned so couldn't. Would visit again for sure. Nothing we could think of.

• Lisa (4/5): - Walkable to Gregory Lake which unfortunately was noisy, dirty, full of rubbish, have to pay an entrance fee just to walk around which takes less than an hour. Nothing else to do in the immediate area. Hotel high up in the hill, so no passing taxi/tuk tuks and not ideal for walking after dark, poorly lit area. Hotel took 2.5 hours to serve a dinner after 3 attempts at asking where it was, finally arrived, potato curry was three bits of potato in an inedible watery, incredibly salty sauce. We ordered vegetable rice and noodles as vegetarians - both arrived with chicken in. Manager very apologetic but did nothing to rectify the situation. Would not recommend hotel at all, much better options for the same price or less in the area and there is very little to do near the hotel. Better to stay closer to town.

• Jeremy (8/5): Nice Views!! - Size of Room, the rooms were clean with marvellous views. Nice and quiet. Staff was responsive to requests. Didn't like the switching of lights and most of the time had climb the stairs in darkness. Also staff and manager staying around during breakfast.
• Sabrina (10/5): Exceptional - The people were great there! They organized us a tour to horton plains and further to the next hotel. The rooms and the equipment were impressive. The breakfast was the best we received on our whole journey! We can recommend it 100%!

• 4tfingers (10/5): Relaxing stay - The service was wonderful, English spoken well, local information was detailed and correct. Walking distance to a strawberry farm for fancy strawberry and cream. Wonderful fresh vegetable salads and traditional sri lanka foods prepared by a chef. Showers hot and fantastic view from the warm rooms. A little far from center of town but only an easy tuktuk ride away.
• Amanda (10/5): A Hidden Gem in Nuwara Eliya - Conveniently located, only a short tuk tuk ride to Nanu Oya Station. The villa is surrounded by many tourist attractions like Gregory Lake and Park, Lovers Leap water fall, Pedro tea estate, and factory. Our room was facing the lake - it was very spacious, and we had a lovely view of the hills and tea estates. All the staff are very helpful, polite and very friendly. They helped us arrange transport and negotiate a good price. The food was amazing, there is both Western options and Sri Lankan options. The chef also came and talked to us during dinner to see if everything was okay. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, and we would definitely return. Everything was great.
• Daniel (10/5): Great choice! - We had a wonderful stay at the Serenus Boutique Villa. The staff was over-the-top in how accommodating and attentive they were. They helped arrange transportation to Horton Plains and also to our next destination. They even packed us a lunch for our outing. The hotel was spotless and well cared for, and the breakfast was great. And the lake view was nice. It is a little way out of town but close enough to walk or get a $2 tuk tuk ride.
• Maryam (9/5): Superb - Everything Nothing
• James (10/5): - Very enjoyable stay. Lovely view from balcony and staff were superb. We’re we’re greeted by Lacshan who was very accommodating and professional. He made us feel welcome, and organised for porters to take our bags and nothing was too much trouble Our evening meal was the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. All the food was freshly prepared and superbly cooked food. Hats off to Pasindu in the kitchen. Would definitely recommend this gem of a hotel!
• Ira (10/5): - This boutique hotel was a great find across the lake. It was clean and seemed new. The staff was very helpful and well-trained. They helped me figure out my train schedule. Loved the rustic vibe of my room although it didn’t have the lake view like other rooms. However, there is an access to the garden area facing the lake on the same floor. Breakfast pancake was delicious.
• Yugandhar Pawan (10/5): - Excellent location and superb hospitality. Highly recommend.
• Thilina (2/5): - It was a nightmare. They never offered the prices that was in your site and I had to leave the hotel. I will never visit that hotel and will not recommend to anyone
• Abhishek (10/5): Noce property with good staff - The staff was very helpful and view is amazing.
• Venessa (8/5): - Staff was great, service was excellent. Provided a room for our driver as well. We took the standard room which didnt have a view and room was small, comparing to all the other places in Sri Lanka. The toilet was also small. Necessities were not well provided also. We stayed in their TV lounge for a whole movie! Food was good also. View in the hotel was great too. Super cold weather :)
