The room was decently sized and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the continental breakfast included in the room price. There was ample parking at the back of the building. The Gould had just changed management. The entry was unkempt and messy. The whole hotel was tired, worn, and a little on the dirty side. The retaurant and bar were closed the whole time and dark. The air conditioner in our room, positioned above the door into the bathroom, dripped constantly and loudly into a plastic waste can positioned on the floor below by staff. The surrounding floor was buckled due to this seemingly ongoing issue. The toilet in the bathroom barely flushed at all.

But, the inside is very modern, clean and high end feel about it. The room was large, clean, very modern. Wooden floors, great lighting, and the bathroom was clean and newer. Way nicer than a normal hotel stay. Definitely will be a top pick next time we are in the area.

We were very happy with our stay at the Gould. The location was perfect. The beds were comfortable. The place was clean. It felt like a boutique hotel. The breakfast was coffee, tea, toast, bagels and a few simple choices but we didn’t expect much so it was fine. I don’t know if you would call it a romantic get away… it was perfect for us. The Gould is located walking distance to restaurants and has parking. Convenient. Nothing. It was just what we needed and we will stay again.

There was no water provided in the room. They do not make your bed in between nights. We paid top dollar for this and expected better. Very surprised that the staff did not make beds or clean the rooms in between nights. There was no water in the suite. The doors all squeeked when opened and closed. We asked for this to be fixed and it wasn't. The staff were not friendly - if not rude. The breakfast was a joke. Bagels and english muffins wrapped in plastic wrap next to a toaster. Although advertised - there was no resturant or bar open. Room very noisy as it was on main street. Needs sound installation. WiFi was poor.

Rooms still retain the charm of renovations done in more recent years, although the room I had is due for a refresh (paint, wooden plank flooring was de-laminating in a couple of places, better lighting). Trying to find the Spectrum Channel Guide on the television and using remote was very tedious; would be helpful to have a Television Channel Guide printed out in each room. Biggest negative was closure of the restaurant/loss of dining options.

The restaurant is closed, the bar is closed, the Continental breakfast is closed, the vending machines are closed, the ice machine is closed, and the elevator barely works. Next day we were moved to an "upgraded" room. It was a handicap room, which the shower was not appropriate for our use. By morning the temp was up to 73, so it appeared that unit also was not working. The toilet also was very sluggish. It appeared there were not many rooms that were totally functional The description of the hotel said it had a bar, restaurant and daily housekeeping. The website showed pictures of the areas. It was thst reason we chosed this site None of those were available and it didn't appear to have been opened for awhile. Very disappointed.

- Tracey (8/5): - We stayed here for a weekend (9/12-14). The room was nice, but a cleaning rag was left on the desk in the room and there was a stain on the chair in the shape of a butt crack. Someone had left ice before us in the fridge freezer and it melted overnight one night, which means the freezer wasn’t checked. The room itself was nice and other than the things mentioned it was clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The mattress was firm and while I don’t prefer a firm mattress it was good for sleeping. The room was quiet and I didn’t hear many people being loud in the hallway. There was a breakfast but there wasn’t much to it so we went across the street. The town itself isn’t big and it was nice to walk to the restaurants in town. The restaurant in the hotel isn’t open currently. Staff were nice. I got the impression they were short staffed, but they were never rude or anything. Parking was in the back of the hotel and that was adequate. I would consider staying here again in the future if I was in the area.

- Kimberly (9/5): When in Seneca Falls, we would definitely stay again! - We loved the old classic styling of the Gould. Parking, entrance, room were all lovely. The gentleman we spoke with at check out was also the kitchen manager. He was very helpful. Having the dining room open for dinner, bar, breakfast would have been nice.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Mold in bathroom - I checked out shortly after checking in. There's mold all over the bathroom floor and shower. The room had peeling wallpaper and looked like it had seen better days. The photos online make it look much better than the in person. I do not recommend this property. On the upside the front desk was very friendly.

Hello Expedia Customer Service, I have been a loyal and faithful client with Expedia for many years, and my husband and I recently booked a stay at The Gould for a Labor Day getaway. While I want to acknowledge that the customer service from Terrie was excellent she was helpful, attentive, and doing her very best the overall condition of the hotel was one of the worst experiences I have ever encountered. It’s was like staying at a bates hotel. From the moment we entered our room, the issues began. The wall light switch did not work, forcing us to use the flashlights on our phones just to find our way. The couch and pillows were run down, torn, and in unacceptable condition. When we inquired about the restaurant and bar, we were told they had been closed since July, but that was misleading. In fact, many of the amenities advertised online were either unavailable or inaccurately represented. It became clear that the photos and reviews we saw online were from previous ownership and did not reflect the current reality. The shower and toilet were not properly cleaned, towels had stains on them, and we even found hair left behind from previous guests. The furniture was broken, the air conditioners were taped up, and our bathroom had no window treatments, leaving us without privacy. There were no rugs on the floors, and overall the room felt neglected and unsanitary. The Tv was crocked on the wall. Breakfast was equally disappointing, Flies and lies served us.
- Peter (8/5): - The room was very nice. It has a very modern design for a historic hotel. We were on the first floor on the street side and it was very noisy from street noise. The hotel should consider some form of sound proofing. Otherwise, a very nice place.
