• Donna (10/5): The room was beautiful and quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful! - It is in a walkable distance the the downtown area and the park where the lighthouse and museum are. There is no elevator, part of the charm of an old home, so be prepared to carry your bags upstairs.

• Robin A.W. (10/5): The inn keepers were so helpful, welcoming, and attentive. - I love a fresh hot breakfast. Fresh coffee, fresh fruit, fresh eggs, fresh cooked. The eggs and sausage were perfect. My only twinge of negativity would be that the breakfast was very sugary. I don't need sugar sprinkled onto the waffle batter and cooked into a sugary crust; the syrup is sweet enough for me. The bed mattress was so soft that it was hard for me to sleep comfortably.

• Ochoa (3/5): It was a subpar experience/stay. I’m glad it was only for one night. I wouldn’t return or recommend - The breakfast was by far the worst moment of this stay. The food took a very long time to come out and it wasn’t very tasty at all. I tried the potatoes, the eggs, the sourdough toast and everything was very lackluster. We had to check out and find somewhere close by to eat breakfast (which wasn’t part of our original plans). The house overall could use a lot of maintenance. Anywhere you look you can see the lack of care and attention to detail… from the lack of curb appeal to the lack of adequate decor and stylings of this historic home.

Served on a classic large front porch. Our room was spacious in the adjacent home and convenient to parking. The downtown strip was only a few blocks away. The Inn is beautiful with a picturesque front porch and an amazing backyard for events that includes 2 amazing gas firepits. The breakfasts were made to order and our room ( O' Neil) was gorgeous with a working fieplace and private bath. Located in historic area and close to shopping, sightseeing, and restaurants. Highly recommended.

We discovered it on a trip and used it as a stopover to break up a long drive, and it has become one of our favorite stops. The staff is pleasant and helpful, and the rooms are spacious. Guests are welcomed with a glass of wine in the evening. The included breakfast is delicious and made to order. We will definitely return!

• seh369 (10/5): Amazing property with excellent staff. - We use Havre de Grace as a midway point for meeting family living in Kensington, MD. Booking the Vandiver was a first for us. We will definitely book again. Holly greeted us at check-in and was a pleasure to work with. The room we booked was beautiful, but a plumbing issue caused us to relocate within the Inn. Ashley, the property manager, worked with us and Holly to find a solution. We were moved to a full-size apartment, a significant upgrade from our single room. The manager's happy hour was a nice touch. We were able to meet other guests staying at the Inn. Breakfast was included and was delicious. If you are looking for a quaint, beautiful stay where the staff values you as a guest, please consider the Vandiver Inn

• Michael (10/5): - The staff was very friendly. The bedroom was very nice. The bathroom was clean and had nice shampoo, conditioner, etc. We had a very nice made to order breakfast on the front porch, with a number of choices. The property is an easy walk to downtown, stores and restaurants.

• Mary (8/5): - Very nice property and excellent innkeeper. Lovely setting for a wedding. And appreciated having breakfast included with the stay and the complimentary wine for our anniversary. Unfortunately, had to wake up innkeeper in middle of night when our room became very stuffy and there was no way for us to turn on air. Although many might enjoy the foam mattress topper, it made the bed too soft for us.

• Martha (8/5): - Our trip would have been ruined if Brie had not been on duty on Sunday. She was kind and understanding. As far as pet friendly goes, I would say more pet tolerant. Dogs aren’t allowed in the main hose or on the porch. They are supposed to be put in a crate that you are required to provide while you shower or sleep. Finally, they are never to be left alone in the room, crated or not. That is NOT pet friendly.
• Sightseer63708174131 (10/5): Historical Gem - This is a Historical gem that is maintained well as well as the grounds are very well kept, however if you are wanting polished high end, this is not for you. It is filled with beautiful antiques and charm. The location was perfect for walking to everything. The room was sizable with nice but simple bathroom attached (Layfette room). We enjoyed the hot, cook to order breakfast and the manager's reception. Good communication with calls and text reminders. We would definitely stay at the Vandiver Inn again.

• Amy (9/5): Cute inn, centrally located to everything in town. Perfect place for a nice get away. - The Inn was beautifully kept and landscaped. The location was perfect for walking to everything: downtown stores, restaurants, promenade, lighthouse area and decoy museum. Our room was a nice size, good size bathroom, everything was very clean. We enjoyed the hot breakfast, it was nice to have three options. We would definitely stay at the Vandiver Inn again.
• Jill (9/5): Great Place to Stay. - Location was great, room was clean and roomy, host was great, food was good. We stayed in the main house where a reception dinner took place. It was noisy so we could hear it from our room. Also on Saturday we had to wait for our breakfast to be served for one hour because the wedding party was their priority to be served first.
• 492kathied (10/5): Great Inn near the Chesapeake. - Charming building from 1883, We had a beautiful room with a fireplace, clawfoot tub and balcony. Had the pleasure of a visiting pair of doves out our transom window on the deck. Breakfasts were made to order and delicious. Wonderful hospitality from the innkeepers. Heather was very helpful. We would love to come back again one day.

• 764kayeg (6/5): Room change surprise - I was surprised when I arrived that the room I had booked was changed to another room and no one bothered to notify me beforehand to see if it was ok with me. I only found out when I was shown to a different room. The room was dark and cold. The bathroom sink stopper had issues (contact lens wearer). Food was great and staff were nice.
• Sarah (10/5): - Comfy,cozy bed and breakfast in a convenient, walkable location. Tasty, home cooked breakfast and a happy hour at 5pm with snacks and a wine or beer on the house. We stayed one night after a trip to see the bald eagles at the Conowingo Dam,which is about 20 minutes away.
