- Tobias (6/5): - Good location near several shops and night market. Very friendly and attentive staff. This hotel interior has seen better days. The elevators smell musty and as for the room, they certainly don’t win any awards for cleanliness here either. Hotels in Taiwan are often impeccably clean but unfortunately not this one. The carpet floor was filthy and you could see that the corners and fissures haven’t been cleaned in a long time with dust and hairs piling up, same for the windows. Also the curtains were quite dusty.

- Fenny (9/5): Very central, lovely clean hotel, specious room with added facilities. - We were very lucky to get a spacious room on the top floor on the corner of the building facing the centre city round-a-bout. Unfortunately the round-a-bout which I believe is usually a beautiful fountain was under re-construction, but was still a good marker to always find our way back to the hotel. Our room also overlooked a park where lots of events would take place. Staff were nice and helpfull. It was good to also be able to use a washing machine. There is also a shared kitchen where we could use the fridges and freezer. The hotel is close enough to the railways station to walk to (without luggage) for day trips like the old train to the Alishan Forest. Needless to say the hotel is very central. Very clean and comfortable. We very much enjoyed our stay.

- Steve (8/5): Mostly pleasant, except for the last 6 sleepless hours. - Staff were great, the location is perfect. The room was comfortable and clean and though it was a dorm room, I was lucky enough to have the space to myself for two nights. The bathrooms are on an entirely different floor, so that was a huge negative for me. Other than that, the facilities are pretty nice. However, something bizarre happened during my stay that I need to disclose, in the hopes that the hotel will take action and not let it keep happening: So, during both nights of my stay, a woman entered the room very late and flipped on the front light, which from my angle in bed was impossible not to be disturbed by the bright glare of it. She stayed for literally a few seconds and then closed the door, without turning off the light! I had to get out of bed and turn off the light on both occasions. The first night, it happened around 1am and I had just climbed into bed, so it was annoying, but not that big a deal. However, on the second night, it happened at 4:15 in the morning, woke me from a deep sleep and I was unable to get back to sleep all night. It absolutely ruined the next day for me. When I asked at the front desk the next morning why they had a cleaning woman coming in that late, I was told that she was NOT hotel staff, but a permanent guest at the hotel who rents a bed in that room, even though she actually stays in a room on another floor! So, to be clear, this woman pays nightly for a dorm bed that SHE DOES NOT USE, and apparently comes in late at night for the express purpose of flipping a bright light on and then leaving without turning it off. Why would somebody do this? As we discussed it, the front desk person informed me that the woman has been something "of a problem" for them in the past. Why do they allow her to rent the room then? Why is she even allowed to stay at the hotel?
